I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't play every time I was ready to listen to my music. The battery never stayed charged as you cannot turn it off completely. What good is that -how can you move around the office, or wherever, when you're tied to a cord? Really dumb thinking on the designer's part.

Short review: if you think your nano will get at all touched by sweat outdoors or in the gym, think twice about buying one--in fact, I advise you to get the new shuffle instead.

To rebut the #1 negative review of the nano, this thing is Not a super shuffle. If only it were....

Long contextual review: I purchased the 6gen nano for one purpose only, going on 40-60 min outdoor runs (with Sennheiser's PMX 680i headphones) during which I get totally drenched in sweat. With the built-in clip I thought the nano would be like a super shuffle (I have been using a shuffle on my runs for the past year with no problems), and for one glorious week it was. Then, after one sweaty run in 85 degree weather (with the nano clipped to the waistband of my shorts) it stopped working. First the volume dongle on my headphones ceased working towards the end of my run, so I stopped and unclipped the nano to re-plug the headphones into the jack (this works on the iphone, shuffle and touch--I suspect there is some corrosion on my headphone plug). But then when the screen turned on, it was ghostly white; I could barely see the icons. A software reset fixed the screen brightness issue and it looked like the problem was fixed, but then immediately after the nano got very hot while syncing my 16 gigs of music and stopped working entirely. Itunes couldn't find it; it wouldn't start. Did some sweat leak in somewhere and kill it? Was it a lemon? I used it for a total of four runs, about three hours. (I even purchased a silicone plug to protect the docking port from getting sweat in it, which seemed to be working well.)

Fortunately I had saved all the packaging and Amazon gave me a full refund w/in 24 hours of my returning it.

I currently use an ipod shuffle clipped either to the back pocket/straps of my running shorts or, lacking those, to my shorts' waistband. I don't like using an armband to hold my ipod so this thing has to clip somewhere on my sweaty clothing. For the better part of the past year the shuffle has worked great clipped to my shorts; I don't even know it's there. The only thing that bugs me about the shuffle is the inability to scrub through long tracks on it, which the nano touch-screen allows you to do.

I have absolutely no problems with the nano's looks, interface, or audio functionality. The pedometer is neat. The iOS-like interface is easy to use, 16 gigs is plenty of memory, and it is not too heavy clipped onto the waistband of my shorts. I really wanted this thing to work.

I didn't drop the nano in water or on the ground or anything like that. It did, however, get exposed to sweat. Obviously I clip it onto my shorts with the screen facing outwards (plus I sealed the docking port). Yet my sweaty shirt does flap over it, and some sweat could get onto it from that. Plus I swiped at it with some sweaty fingers at the end of my runs (you know, to check that pedometer). Perhaps some sweat leaked in through the screen's edge or the volume buttons?

Anyway, I fear the nano 6gen can't handle being in a sweaty environment, and especially can't handle being stuck to a sweaty runner. Perhaps you will have a different experience, but I'm not plonking down $170 to try this thing out again. I'll stick with the shuffle, which works perfectly well for long hot outdoor runs thank you very much.

I run and work out a lot, and supposedly I fit into category of intended users of iPod Nano 6G so my review is based mostly on sports use. I owned previous nanos (2G and 4G) and using them was a pleasure. Using 6G is just annoyance.

1. The clip is very inconvenient, contrary to what they show in videos. Instead of just sliding it into a pocket, every time you need to figure out how to detach and then re-attach it back to your clothes. Maybe it works better with jeans, but most of us don't work out in jeans. Previous nanos were small and light enough to just wear them in the pocket without noticing.

2. When you pull it out to change music, you have to spend seconds to figure out proper orientation, because the device is square and display doesn't rotate when you turn it. You also have to make an effort to figure out where the unlock button and the volume buttons are, which is especially difficult in darker environment. Volume buttons are too small and too close to each other.

3. The display is way too small to be useful. It only fits 3 and a half lines of text and if you have many songs and artists, scrolling is just pain. The "currently playing list" screen is even worse half of the screen is occupied by star rating control, and you only see two and half lines of useful text. I have no idea what multi-touch does here you can barely fit one finger on this screen.

In other words, changing music (or doing anything with the device) while on the go, takes a whole ritual and lots of struggle. I hoped it would get easier over time, but it didn't. In my opinion, compared to 4G and 5G nanos, this is a complete failure and is merely a glorified and overpriced Shuffle.

Playback quality is okay and battery life is also good, although it doesn't even come close to 24 hours they claim.

Also, two months after product release, most non-Apple software doesn't yet support this model (last.fm scrobblers, for example), which forces you to use iTunes. This is important point for those who have problems with iTunes.

So, after several days of struggling with it, I gave up. There are better and more usable MP3 players. I am returning this to the store. Apple makes some good products, but iPod Nano 6G is not one of them.

Beware buying Apple products through Amazon.

1.) The Sleep/Wake button on my iPod Nano (6gen) failed yesterday after nine months of flawless use. This was my favorite of the models (I have owned six). Research revealed that this is a common issue. The underlying mechanism does not seat well resulting in a button that fails to press the actual switch inside the housing. This is correctable with a 75.00 US service charge unless under warranty, as I believed mine was...

2.) I took the iPod purchased on Amazon to the Apple Store. The genius kid told me that the iPod is out warranty with a purchase date in December 2010 (I bought it in August 2011). I produced the Amazon receipt showing purchased as "NEW", but Genius Kid attempted to handle me and send me out to resolve with the seller. I persisted.

3.) The Apple Store manager informed me that Amazon is not a licensed reseller. Amazon failed to disclose this or the purchase date (Dec 2010) of their lot of devices. Incensed, I used words like "Honor, warranty, contract" in Colonel Jessup fashion. The manager left, came back and relented. She honored my receipt and replaced the iPod under warranty, adding that the reseller issue would be referred to corporate. "If you're gonna pay full price, buy at Apple." I agreed.

I bought 2 of these with my new Mac. This new design proved to be utterly worthless. The touch screen is unresponsive and appears to vary from user to user. After loading it and having trouble navigating I installed the new software from Apple which seemed to fix it, but the next day it was unresponsive again. I recommend waiting for the next generation or finding the onld-Nano somewhere else. Thanks to Amazon for the bulletproof returns.

My trusty Sony ICF-C740 that got me through college was assimillated to my wife's side of the bed which worked for a while, but eventually I'd had enough and she's not so good at learning new gadgets so I found myself looking for an alarm clock radio. I'm a big researcher/try-er out-er of things and if there's something about a gadget that bugs me, it tends to grow worse until I take the thing back. So it was with clock radios. I had a few simple criteria: 1) had to be large (>0.9"), semi-bright green numerals (the night-time vision area of your eye is more sensitive to blue--that's why blue signs catch your eye at night--but much worse resolution-wise than the day-time portion which essentially makes your vision worse when reading blue text/numbers at night, so blue displays were a turn off) which were easily visible by day or night, and didn't provide a light distraction for me as I went to bed; 2) preferrably 2 alarm times; 3) had to have radio as the alarm; 4) had to pick up at minimum local NPR station and local classical station as a bonus (best gentle wake-up music & news in the morning); 5) extra bonus points for nicely variable snooze time and a 'nap' feature without messing up the alarms.

I looked at all the current Sonys (what happened to the simple design with nice features and good reception/sound quality?) and a whole slew of clock radios from Target, Walmart, Best Buy and others. Here are the main highlights of the ones that I ended up buying and taking back:

-Extra large display clock (can't remember if it was a Sony, RCA or other brand): In general, I find the extra large displays are rather dim, with the possible exception of the red ones (but I wasn't going for red). Even the variable ones start out dim and just go lower. Don't even get me started on the large blue displays. Try reading them from across the room at night, just big blue fuzzy letters (and before you start knocking my vision, I'm 20/14).

-RCA RP5640: wasn't too keen at first of the LCD display, but you could select green and it was bright enough (though the background brightness made me switch on the auto-dimmer which made it hard to read sometimes depending on the room lighting and my distance from the clock). All-around nice clock with all the features I wanted (including bonus points ones) but overall too many people complaining about broken CD doors (though I probably wouldn't have used that much) and the big kicker-generally poor reception. It could pick up NPR with a lot of background fuzz but not even a hint of the classical station. Also, the "instant weather" channels all picked up some local bad 40s country station...with a lot of background static. The alarm "off" button was pretty small too and in the corner, so not as user friendly as it could have been.

-Boston Receptor: Great sound but...though the audiophile in me wanted to keep it, it too couldn't pick up the classical station (NPR sounded great, though) despite it's advertising on picking up weak FM signals. In the end, I couldn't justify $150 for medium-level reception and entry-level dual alarm features.

As you can see, I was willing to pay a lot for a quality clock radio that did want I wanted it to: wake me up to radio of my choice, have some good features, and be easy to read & use. That's why I was surprised that my final purchase (the RP4842) I got for $7 on clearance at Walgreens. It's an RCA so it (somewhat surprisingly) had the "grad-u-wake" feature with the alert alarm (soft to loud in about 45 sec, though I never use that alarm setting), settable snooze time in 1 minute increments (no other clock radio I found besides the RCAs have that) and a nap button with 10 minute increments up to 2 hours. Contrary to other posts here, I didn't find turning off the alarm hard at all as the "on/off" button is in general fairly easy to feel with my fingers in the lower left corner and has no near neighbors. If you do happen to hit the nap button, all you have to do is hit it again and hold it for it to turn nap mode off. Add to the ease-of-use, feature-rich, and wallet-lite aspects the fact that it could do what neither the expensive RCA or the Boston could do: pick up NPR AND the classical station pretty clearly and it was clearly the winner. The nice hefty speaker also sounds pretty good and can go plenty loud if you like the radio on while you dress in the closet.

I don't know how it compares with the RP5400 (once you find perfection, you stick with it) which I guess seems to be the current revision of this clock, but it looks uglier to me with a worse layout of buttons. Apparently that's the normal current version that Walgreens/Walmart carries and I happened to go to a Walgreens that still had a few of the RP4842s left. So if you find one, pick one up. You won't be sorry. Heck, I might just go back to Walgreens and pick up the other one in the event this one ever beaks or gets fried from a lightning strike.

As other reviewers have noted, this clock has an excellent list of features. The sound quality on the radio is surprisingly good. Having two separate alarms is handy, the alarm tone is not too obnoxious, and the gradual volume increase works nicely. Unfortunately the designers apparently paid no attention to usability whatsoever.

There should be one simple, clear way to turn an alarm off. It should be something you can do in the dark (if you have to get up while your spouse is still sleeping, you know what I'm talking about). For this clock there are actually two different ways to turn off the alarm (besides Snooze). If the alarm is sounding, you can press the "On/Off" button to turn it off. If it has not yet sounded (either you get up before it goes off, or you have hit the snooze button) you have to press "Cancel" then the specific alarm button. Good luck finding those tiny buttons in the dark! If you accidentally hit "Nap" instead, you've just put the clock into a mode where it ignores your cancel requests. If you forget and press "On/Off" as you would for the sounding alarm, you'll turn on the radio. Congratulations, you've just startled your spouse out of a sound sleep! There a total of 6 LED indicator lights. In the dark, it's hard to tell which indicator is for an alarm (as opposed to AM/PM and Nap function). All in all, very frustrating to operate.

This clock radio has great features at a very modest price (about $15): two alarms, two-way time and alarm setting (so you don't have to go all the way around if you go slightly past the desired time or alarm setting), a pleasant green display (soothing compared to harsh red or blue), and easy-to-use, well-designed controls.

Unlike another reviewer, I have had no problems at all with radio reception.

The only negative is that the self-adjusting display (which is supposed to adjust to ambient light) gets too bright in the middle of the night. Certainly not enough to wake anyone up (and we are light sleepers), but a little jarring when coming back to bed after getting up for some other reason.

Overall, we are very pleased and would definitely buy this clock radio again.

It's a pretty good clock, but the fact that the alarm stays on for the next day is frustrating. I bought it for my wife and she doesn't need the alarm every morning. It'd be nice if once you turned the alarm off in the morning it wouldn't automatically be activated the next morning. I'm sure this is a nice feature for some people, but it'd be nice if there was an option.

What I like most about the clock radio is that the alarm starts off soft and gets louder gradually so you aren't awakened by a really loud alarm right away. Another feature I appreciate is that you can go backward with the time. That saves me time and irritation. Having two alarms and being able to choose between radio and buzzer are necessary items as well. I recommend this inexpensive, innovative item.

Upon opening the box, I found exactly what I expected a good-looking (albeit very large) geeky watch. It came with extra screws and rubber O-rings, and ear buds with a mic. They even include a tiny screwdriver for putting the back on after you install your SIMM and Micro SD, and the battery. It also includes a spare battery. So far, great!

The case and band appear well-made. Strong, with no sharp edges. There are panels on the ends of the watch case that are jewler's chrome rather than stainless, so they don't quite match the rest of the watch, but they look OK. The clasp is smooth and works well, but is not adjustable, and the links in the band are held together with press-in pins rather than screws, so plan on spending another $15 at the jeweler getting the band fitted unless you have jeweler's tools.

It came with the expected user manual a very tiny print manual with no illustrations. The manual was obviously made from the Chinese version with translation software. Many of the sentences don't really make any sense. That is not a problem, however, as the device uses very standard cell phone menus with easily recognizable icons, so there is no real problem navigating the menus and finding things without any need for a user manual.

The camera and video capture work, and are about what I expected in a unit this size. Pictures similar to the ones you get with those $5 key chain digital cameras. That was what I expected, so no complaints about the camera, but 1.3 MP? I don't think so. On `good' quality setting, the watch says that picture files are only 9kB jpgs, and that is about what they look like. 0.13 MP maybe.

FM radio works. Gets a few channels that fade in and out to static as you move your hand and change the orientation of the device. Again, pretty much what I expected for a novelty watch, so no complaints.

The display looks good. The touch function is a bit slow but works well. For selecting from the menus it works better with my fingertip than with the rubber tipped stylus that came with the phone. The stylus is needed only for typing numbers and letters from the keypads in the screen. If you go outdoors in the sunshine, the display is completely wiped out, regardless of which display setting you choose. You have to cup your hand over the display tightly and put your eye up to your cupped hand to make out anything on the screen when you are outdoors. This means that you can accept, but not make, phone calls when you are outdoors.

The big problem, and the reason that I am sending this thing back, is that there is no volume control on the phone. When you answer a call, whether you use the speaker on the phone (which sounds awful) or the included ear buds (which sound better) you can barely hear the incoming caller. My callers said that they could hear and understand me whether I used the speaker in the watch or the speaker on the ear buds, but I had to go into a completely silent room and close the door in order to hear my caller. I would never use this thing while in a car, or anywhere that has any level of background noise. The beeps with button presses and camera use are a comfortable volume.

I tried a Motorola Bluetooth with volume control to see if I could use the phone exclusively with the Bluetooth. No luck. Max volume on the bluetooth is still barely audible in a quiet room.

I looked through the manual and all the menus twice, and I found no volume control on any function other than the FM radio and the ringer, and the radio volume control does not work well. There may be a bad spot in the touch display around the `+' button on the FM radio screen. It would turn the volume down, but not back up.

All I really wanted was a novelty and a conversation piece to use for a while and then add to my collection of geeky watches, but to be a good novelty and conversation piece, I need to be able to carry it and use it as my cell phone for a while, and for that it needs to be usable.

I think that if they improve the built-in speaker so that you can understand human speech through it, and give it a volume control on calls, this will be an amusing gadget. An updated sunlight-visible screen would be really nice, even if it added to the price.

HANG ON....Because this is a bit complicated.

First, I have wanted a wrist-watch-phone for years...It just seems like such a no-brainer of convenience to me...No forgetting or losing your phone, no digging it out of a pocket in a hurry to get a call, or missing a call through distraction, etc....

Add to that, I am not interested in going online from a hand-held device, or playing games, etc...I just want to send and receive calls...I just want a handy TELEPHONE....

A phone that is right there, on my wrist, ready to use.

I chose this model due to the rugged steel construction and water-proof description...I lead a fairly active lifestyle, and having my phone on my wrist presented obvious hazards to the technology.

NOTE: Here is where we get complicated....

I first saw this on a website being referred to as 'The Commando', and it had a price of $185. ('On Sale' supposedly, from $275.).... and I would have purchased that $185 watch-phone..Had I not noticed the EXACT SAME device priced at $93 on another site ( called there 'the w818' ...I`m not sure if Amazon allows me to 'name names' here, or I would name the site)...Then, to make matters more convoluted, I saw it here on Amazon, for $120...called 'the MW08' AND the 'W818'/ 'WATERPROOF MOBILE WATCH PHONE' in seperate listings...All of the listings for this same watch-phone on every site use THE SAME promo pictures and list the same features, no matter what it is being called and priced at.

Well of course, I went for the cheapest price, at that other companies` site ...and man, am I sooo sorry that I did !

The watch-phone I received was nothing but trouble...Incomplete package, defective phone that would not read the new, activated T-Mobile SIM card I had bought...and worse, the customer service from this company was TERRIBLE. No response to emails or calls and a 'returns request' page that was actually designed to prevent the customer from submitting a return !

(Again, not sure if Amazon would allow me to name them, as much as I want to warn you...if interested, post a reply to this review and I`ll post the names of all companies I found serious fault with, that way if Amazon objects and removes the reply, at least this neutered review will remain active to caution others to BE CAREFUL)

Anyway, not willing to give up, I filed complaints and disputes and opened cases to get my money back from the thieves...

... Then, I went ahead and purchased the $120 version offered here, by VICTOR, LLC.

I have faith in Amazon`s Returns Policy, and I should have gone with that faith in the first place, instead of trying to save a big $25 and ending up buying a load of aggravation with the savings.

The 'MW08' purchased here came swiftly... At first, the device gave me some hassles--the same non-recognition of SIM card--then I tried something that I had previously attempted with no result in the defective one; I placed a bit of foam material under the watch-back cover so that the battery would press onto and hold the SIM interface a bit more securely...and EUREKA ! IMMEDIATE SUCCESS !

The Amazon-Victorpurchase 'MW08' watchphone came to life without a problem and has functioned normally and well since. (Should this status change, I will update this review accordingly)

Just an F.Y.I.: These are all made in China. The Chinese electronics industry is a cut-throat business wherein the reliable mixes with the fraudulent, and the quality can be both variable and questionable... Assorted manufacturers --both reputable and disreputable-pirate each others` designs and crank these things out through assorted selling companies, some of them little more than fronts for shady dealings...They will slap different names and numbers on the same model and describe it in glowing terms of purest HYPE. The widelyvarying prices are not representative of quality, but avarice.

Bottom Line: You have to BE CAREFUL.

My advice for getting a wrist-watch-phone is to purchase either here on Amazon, or on a certain notable online auction site (where the threat of a negative feedback and an in-house payment service can offer you some recourse if you get a bad device.)

The wrist-watch-phone IS a great idea....Hopefully, some of the better electronics concerns will get into the field with a superior model, instead of just pushing one more smartphone/tablet device after another in an already glutted field.

There ARE people who, like me (and high-probability, yourself, if you have read this far) who would just like to have a quality phone on their wrist.

The existence of these here and elsewhere proves they can and do work.

I love this phone! I can tell you a few negatives and I will, but let me first say this phone works really well and is a lot of fun.

I initially bought this very model of watch from this vendor about six months ago. I was using a different model before this with fewer features and I wanted to use this one instead, but it took me a while to figure out how to change the size of the band. When my other wrist phone suddenly died I need to figure it out and I did. (PS, I saved the old links from the band so if someone buys this phone and needs a still larger band, I suppose you could contact me and I'd probably send you the links for the cost of shipping)

The great things about this phone are obvious. You don't need to worry that you'll lay it down anywhere and forget it. You won't accidentally drop it in your laundry because you left it in a pocket. It is expected to work with a wireless headset (I recommend a Plantronics with noise cancelling dual microphones), not included. However, should you leave your headset in the car, say, and you need to take a call, just slip it off your wrist, slip your hand through the band so the speaker is by your ear and talk into the band. The sound quality is great both ways. Nobody will believe you are talking on a wrist phone except for those around you, and their jaws will be on the floor.

Also this phone sends texts. Now texts are nothing amazing with today's phones but that this tiny phone is pretty easy to send texts from also impresses others. I mostly like that the phone is out of sight, out of mind, most of the time.

For some insane reason it came with two batteries. It is not easy to change batteries so I hope the spare battery has a good shelf life so it still works when the built in battery finally dies.

Downsides:

-Reception is not great; you will experience more dropped calls with this one than other phones.

-The USB cord is somewhat proprietary, or at least rare. I contacted the seller and ordered four spare cords.

-The cover for the USB is small and delicate, easy to lose and break so I ordered a spare.

-If there is a way to make this phone do any sort of app, like GPS, I've sure not figured it out.

-I've read this phone can do Wifi/Bluetooth tethering to a netbook but again I've not been able to figure it out.

-It has a rudimentary built in web-browser I've found pretty useless too, but it could be I've just not spent enough time figuring that out either.

-The phone weighs exactly half a pound, which strangely enough impresses people who ask to look at it.

I realize some of those downsides will cause some of you to avoid buying this phone, but it is just a matter of priorities. I believe the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Also, just in case you can't tell, this phone looks great!

The service I'm using is from T-Mobil and costs about $80 month to month for unlimited everything. Had I agreed to a 1 year contract they'd have given me a phone, but when I signed up with my first phone I didn't know if I'd even like the phone so I went month to month. If you already have a T-Mobil phone you can removed your SIM card from it and put it directly into this wrist phone, but don't plan on going back and forth as the SIM card is installed under the battery behind a cover with four tiny screws. (the phone comes with a tiny screwdriver for assembly)

If you do buy this phone, please take my advice and tape a medicine vial to the cord to store the USB cover in while on charge.

I have bought hundreds of items for myself and businesses from Amazon as a Prime member. Most is very good. This product and the service are great and beg reviewing to share with others out there. I ordered with some tepidation as it was obviously a Chinese product. The quote on delivery was two weeks and the product arrived in 8 days. Perfect package and the watch was shrink wrapped proving it was not a return. I followed the instructions and the watch didn't work. I wrote to the cutomer service email inside the packaging and within MINUTES I received a reply in cure broken english from "JACK" in China. I explained he problem and they felt the product was defective. Happens with everything sooner or later. Jack offered to help me by sending a new product immediatly and then letting me send back my defect later. INCREDIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I mean they are out two watches and maybe I don't return the defect but WOW they trusted me and this sped up the replacement because me shipping back to China and waiting for them to get back to me with a return would have taken three weeks. I got the new watch phone in 8 days. Plugged in my regular AT&T sim from my Blackberry and BAM! Wrist phone. Folks-the thing is great! The speaker phone is almost as loun=d as my iPhone! Battery time is a bit short lasts all day with texting and appointments and calculator and taking photos and videos but only good for an hour on the phone before needs a recharge. But that is OKit is a WRISTWATCH phone! How cool! So my wife and best clients have this number and no matter what I have connectivity with those most important to me 24/7. I cannot express my praise enough for the team at the shipper/manufacturer who did EVERYTHING right for me. They sent me traking updates on the replacement by email and never missed a reply to my letters within hours including late nights and weekends. A BIT OF BACKGROUND: I listen to a lot of music and have gone through countless speakers, headphones and earphones. From the most basic Skullcandy earphones up to Beats by Dr. Dre products and even as premier as Bose (by far my favorite go-to company for music). I've seen it all. When it came to buy a good speaker, my eyes were on Bose, but I received this speaker as a gift and went right to work testing it. In the end, this is definitely a VERY excellent speaker to the point that I can honestly recommend it over a Bose speaker (this coming from a Bose fanboy). My favorite feature has to be the "Mega Bass" mode :P

Without further ado, let's begin shall we!

Included in the Box:

The speaker itself, wrapped in two layers of some protective tissue, in perfect condition

Two adapters (you put these on the place you put your iPod depending on which type of iPod you have. I didn't need an adapter for my iPod touch 4G)

Two pieces of a charger (plug one into the other, one end in the wall, one end in a designated place in the back of the speaker).

*Sidenote, you have to have it plugged in for it to play*

A little wire with a 3.5MM jack on both ends (for the line in/line out feature)

DESIGN: 9/10

The color is an elegant black with a bit of a charcoal-ish tint on the speaker itself. At the top, "SONY" is nicely printed. On the same little band "SONY" is on, there is a little infrared sensor for the included remote. On the top of the speaker, there is one bottom on the extreme left which is simply a power button which glows green when on. On the right side of the speaker there are a few buttons for manual iPod/iPhone controls. From left to right they are:

"Audio In" for the line in/line out feature

Play/Pause Button

Restart or Previous Track/Fast Rewind

Next Track/Fast Forward

My personal favorite, the "Mega Bass" button. A small red light turns on when the mega bass is turned on. This feature is really cool because you can control the bass directly from the remote depending on what kind of song you're listening to.

Finally, on the back of the speaker on the very bottom, there is a port for the charger as well as one for the line in/line out cable.

I've already tested all of these things, and they all work very nicely. The speaker sits evenly and looks nice almost anywhere you put it. Also, it charges your device when it's docked. The only reason I didn't give the design a full 10/10 was because while it is very simplistic and easy to use, there was nothing very unique or interesting in particular. No complaints here!

While there isn't much to the remote, it is incredibly effective from long distances and looks nice and is slim. I had plenty of time to test the remote, so here are the functions included on the remote:

Power button (turns off dock as well as iPod. Push it again to turn the dock on again and hold the play/pause button to turn the iPod back on again)

MOST IMPORTANTLY, SOUND: 10/10 (difficult to get!)

After going through the huge variance in types of music players, I can say without a doubt that none have ever matched the range of this baby.

The highs are nice and beautiful

The mids are clean and fluid

The bass is powerful and CRISP. With the Mega Bass feature on, the bass is AWESOME on some of the modern pop or club songs.

I tested this speaker with some songs that I always test new speakers/headphones with.

With these songs, I can get a pretty good idea of the capabilities of speakers. This speaker not only did well, but EXCELLED in each of these songs. I went on to test some other random songs too, and this monster seems to be able to handle it all. I am VERY impressed by the abilities of this speaker, and the Mega Bass feature is a very nice addition to the speaker for some songs (some songs are better without it).

*Quick note, I have a review of a Bose product and didn't give it a 10/10 on sound. But I gave this a 10/10!*

OVERALL: 10/10

My rating of 10/10 actually means something. I gave this speaker a run for its money, and boy did it not let me down. I don't just give scores like that this is a quality product.

I have to say that after looking at all of these aspects, I couldn't possibly be happier. Compared to higher priced alternatives, this is equally good if not better. And at the $129 Amazon is offering it for, there is no reason to NOT go for it. And if that price tag seems too daunting, just get a refurbished unit. They always work exactly the same.

This dock I can honestly say has made a firm believer in Sony out of a huge Bose fan. Do your ears and those of everyone around you a favor and BUY IT. Yes you DO IT. NOW.

Before I bought this product I was not too familiar with the various Speaker Docks available on the market but, I did assume that the Bose Dock was probably one of the better ones I have heard on the market. With that said, the Sony RDP-X50iP Speak Dock for the iPhone and iPod is pleasently loud and the sound sneaks up on you as you increase the volume. The bass hits really hard and the sound spews all over any room, making for an even-balanced tune and time. If you are looking for something not as pricey as the Bose system yet, with close to the same quality, go for this Dock! The only downside to this product is that you cannot take it to the beach, pool, etc. unless there is some sort of outlet. If you are looking for a portable device that can run on batteries, I would check out the cheaper Sony Docks.

Digital Innovations 4100300 Plug-and-Play Speaker Dock for Android Smartphones - Retail Packaging -

After my trusty JBL On Stage kicked the bucket, I was looking for something else to fill my needs for amplifying my phone, MP3 player or laptop. My main requirements were that it sound decent, be able to work off a 3.5mm jack, be small enough to be reasonably portable, and be able to get fairly loud.

In these respects, the Digital Innovations Android Docking Station has mostly met or exceeded expectations. I admit I'm a little wary of having the 3.5mm jack hard-wired in, as those thin cables and connections will often stop transmitting sound in a quality way, but too soon to borrow trouble on that count.

The sound quality, while I'm sure it isn't hi-fi, is perfectly decent, and certainly better than the output of my phone. And it gets nice and loud. I can hear it well in other rooms and should be able to hear it over the shower, which is one of the major requirements for me.

It is a bonus that this item is made to work with my Android phone, so there's no need to worry about losing power while listening to my podcasts or music. The Sonr labs app, which is still in beta, interacts perfectly with all of my music and podcasting programs, even ones that are not "recommended," such as my DoggCatcher podcast app.

In fact, it is via the Sonr app, that I've realized some unlooked-for benefits of using this device. The Sonr program allows me to control all my listening apps with a remote, so that I can control the volume, pause, mute, and even skip tracks. And my universal learning remote was able to pick up all these commands, so I don't have to worry about keeping up with the credit-card-sized remote the dock came with.

So far, my experience is limited, and I'll try and make sure to update this review if anything changes my opinion, but as of now, I'm looking forward to putting this sucker on my bedside table, and seeing if I can make it function as a decent clock radio!

ETA: Still very happy with the overall product. The power light, though, is REALLY BRIGHT, so it functions as a decent clock radio/really bright night light. Genius that I am, I solved this problem by placing a piece of electrical tape over the light, and I promise, I can still see the light through the tape! But at least it doesn't light up the room at night.

The Sonr app is still working okay, though a couple of times I've needed to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again. I also wish I didn't have to remember to exit the app in the AM, otherwise I can't get any sound to come out of my phone speaker. The joys of beta! :)

I received my speakers the other day and so far so good. The speakers have great quality for such a small package. In fact I was very impressed and surprised with the amount of sound that these produced. It is more than enough to fill my bedroom, adjoining loft, and bathroom with sound. I also like the fact that they take up little space on my nightstand. I must thank Digital Innovations for being one of the few companies that offers a speaker docking station for Android. Of the three options I found that could truly charge your Android phone while listen to music, this one seemed to fit my needs the best. The things that I liked about this product vs. the other products is that this product allows you to situate your phone horizontal AND vertical. Which means that when situated horizontally you can stream movies when using the speakers. The other two options did not allow for this if you had bottom connecting phone charger port. One of the options (Philips Fidelio) also did not receive good reviews with the android app that allows you to control the remote control which was also an important deciding factor for me. The last option (Samsung) is a relatively new high end product and is marketed out of my price range.

I haven't download the app to be able to use the remote for this product yet, but when I do, I'll try and remember to report back with an update of how things went.

A note to any manufacturer reading this review. I think that these speakers are a great start for a basic speaker dock for Android. However, it would nice to see a product that offers an internal rechargeable Lithium ion battery for speaker portability. It would also be nice to see various options for output power (10 watts, 30 watts, etc..). I am very surprised that manufactures are not keeping in mind that Android phones takes up the majority shares of smartphones on the market. I am also surprised that they haven't wanted to tap into a market with little to no competition.

One last thing. As far as the seller: shopcelldeals. A+++++++ Seller. They not only had the best pricing but they had extremely fast shipping. I received it 2 business days after ordering the product! Great job shopcelldeals.

Overall, very good. light, handy, very good sound for a unit this size. This unit is not rechargeable, you need batteries. I simply have 2 sets of rechargeable batteries that I switch whenever the batteries run out. It's not a problem and could be considered a plus because you're not dependent on the unit's internal battery. You get many hours on 4 AAA batteries. Two reasons why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. There was a flimsy power supply cable. Logic3 support deftly replaced the faulty part to my satisfaction. When the replacement arrived I reinforced with epoxy the weak point where the cable meets the connector. The other quirky problem is that when not plugged in, the unit turns the iphone screen on for few seconds every 30-40 minutes, which could be a problem in a darkened room. This only happens when it's not plugged-in. Other than those issues this is a durable unit that's given hours of pleasure.

Well sometimes the one you least expect and the one most likely overlooked, comes up with a winner! Emerson really surpised me. I was going to buy a Logitech MM50 but when I put them side by side, Emerson iTone iP550 won out. The Logitech had deep sound but reverberated badly. I was surpised at the clarity and pretty good bass on this model. As a matter of fact, when I put it at its height, it retained a great sound without jumping off the counter. Now, get this, what was most suprising was its cost. It was literally more than $70 cheaper than the more popular Logitech!! Okay, it doesn't have the accessories, i.e., carry bag and ultra slimness in design, but its got everything else and more: radio, preset stations, clock, sleep button, digital remote, along with stuff you would expect in the big names. And its cute too! For what you get and for the money you pay, you can't beat it. AND, if you really tell the truth, the only difference in this little guy and those "speaker-only" types, it admits to being a boom box rather than just "stereo speakers." Maybe that's why they are trying to charge more for giving you less!

I bought it for my wife for Valentine's Day to replace her older Phillips CD boom box in the bathroom. The sound does not compare. The old Phillips sounds much better. If you buy this expecting "big sound" out of a small package, you will be disappointed. If you just want something to hook your iPod up to, it works.

OK, I have not seen many reviews on this stereo at all, so I figured I should go ahead and make one to help some people out.

First, the stereo comes with a remote, simple installation kit, iPod dock clips to properly fit your generation of iPod/iPhone, and proper wiring to be soldered to existing wiring to be able to use its unique plug. I soldered the wiring with no difficulty, and everything worked perfectly with that. The installation kit was a bit simple, and i went with a different approach because I believe a housing box is required for the stereo to properly be installed with the kit. The front of the kit was a bit too big for my car, but that is not mostly because my car is a 1993 corolla and was most likely never meant for the more modern systems. The kit fit in regardless, and though the front had to be behind the cars panel, everything still functioned (other than the iPod dock clip) and looked great.

The system itself is a very good and well designed system, and so far i have had no issues with it, save a few small things such as: on occasion the remote doesn't work too well, but i basically never use it, so that doesn't matter, the iPod automatically goes into sleep mode (iPhone 4, the music keeps playing, the screen just turns off) and i have to wake it up to change songs, and the light on it is a bit strong, and doesn't light up the answer phone and end call signs.

The features on this stereo are great for its price. The iPod dock is wonderful, and I listen to it whenever i can. The Bluetooth connection is great as well, though the other person may hear you a bit quieter than they usually would, it also plays music through Bluetooth as well (tested with iPhone 4). The USB and SD card slots I Have not yet tested, but unless I post an edit, assume they are functioning, and functioning well. The sound from this stereo is great, my stock speakers have no trouble until i put it to maximum strength, then they begin to hiss a bit. This stereo charges the iPhone 4, so it will work with modern apple products, however it does display a warning saying it is not optimized, but after exiting out of the warning, no issues arose.

After owning this system for a few days, I believe it is a great system, with just a few small issues, and as of now I am very satisfied with my purchase and recommend this stereo to anyone looking for a cheaper but working stereo with more modern methods to listen to music.

So I have an iPhone, and I listen to my podcasts and music right off my phone. This stereo looked like it was the right product for me since I no longer have any CDs, everything I buy is in digital format from either amazon or the itunes store. Enter the Boss Audio 758DBI. I think I now know why these things aren't available in stores :-|.

First, let me say that installation was easy. I picked up a stereo kit and was able to wire this guy up during my lunch hour, nothing out of the ordinary. If you are not familiar with putting a stereo in a car, then I suggest you go to a location where they will install it for you.

now for the performance of this stereo...

FM quality is great (nothing spectacular but it sounds good).

USB playback is also great, the built-in decoder seems to be pretty good, great bass reproduction and sound quality (you should have comparable speakers that can be driven by the bass loud boost of this stereo. I did not test the SDcard module but I don't expect that the sound quality to be any less.

before I get into my rant, let me preface that *I have contacted the manufacturer and they have come through.*

The stereo I purchased here on Amazon was defective in that the stereo unit would not charge my iPhone, but the audio was spectacular and it sounded great in both bluetooth audio speaker phone and even over the iPod dock (though the audio is lower). I was overall happy and was even fine that the stereo did not charge my iPhone, I carry a charger in the car for that, and was fine with it. I contacted the manufacturer and we found that the stereo was defective and they asked for me to return/exchange it for a replacement. (Score!) I received the replacement unit in short order and I was happy for all of 4-5 days. On Monday I was on my drive to work when all of a sudden the left side speakers went out, at first I thought it could be my wiring so I disconnected my iPhone and immediately could hear the fm stereo playback just fine over all 4 speakers. I quickly went to test the bluetooth audio and that worked well over all 4 speakers, everything worked except the ipod dock. The very reason for buying this damn thing :(, so now I'm in the process of my 2nd RMA and will post my results if the stereo last for anything over 30 days. I like the concept of a stereo dock for my iphone, that's what I use for music. It is really cool as there are ipod controls right on the stereo, so there is no need for you to wake up the screen to play/pause, skip music while driving.

so I'm on my way to a 3rd stereo, but they say 3rd time is the charm.

So on my 3rd Stereo now... everything has been working with out a hitch (everything except the clock.) When I received the 3rd stereo I was pleased to find that it all worked, the iPhone4 charged when docked and that music was pouring out all speakers as I had dreamed it would. Today almost a year after my initial purchase I am happy to say that I am happy with the stereo, and it's capabilities. I sometimes have trouble with the bluetooth but I am suspecting that it is my other Android phone that is the problem as the problem is not consistent, and with other phones it has worked with out incident (so maybe just my old android problem?)

note... if you have an iPhone5 and wanted to grab this stereo because of the dock, I'm afraid it's not worthwhile as the adapters by Apple would push your phone so far up it could not possibly be held by the adapter.

Other than that, this thing rocks and I do love it, Especially on really long trips!

I think at the price point, this stereo has tremendous value, but it is not without a few glaring issues. I wanted a stereo that would let me play Pandora while giving me easy access to the controls and also allow me to do Bluetooth audio streaming. This does that perfectly, but not much more.

Good:

-Docks perfectly with my iPhone 4S. It fits snug and had no issues connecting.

-Bluetooth streaming works flawlessly and was super easy to set up. The quality is good and there is no crackling, etc.

-Playing and controlling Pandora through my iPhone couldn't have been easier.

-When you dock an iPhone/iPod, you still have full control of the iPod so you can either control from the phone/iPod OR from the stereo's buttons.

Bad:

-If you are planning to control your iPod through the head unit, do not buy this stereo. There is no search functionality for either the SD card or the iPod through the head unit. You can skip forward 10 songs at a time, one at a time, or do repeat/random. That's it.

-The Bluetooth calling is worthless. The volume in the car is fine, but people cannot hear you on the other end--even if you are shouting.

-The remote control is nearly impossible to use from the driver's side of the car if the dock is out (it blocks the IR receiver which is on the right side of the dock).

-The FM presets keep randomly resetting to the defaults--not sure whats up with that.

-The display and lights are SUPER bright and there is no dimmer control.

-The manufacturer claims that the RCA output is switchable between rear and subwoofer. As far as I can tell, there is no way to switch it. So all high frequency signals are still being sent to my subwoofer.

Again, I think at this price its a good value, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Just don't buy this expecting it to be great in every way. Definitely don't buy it if you are wanting a deck to make hands free calls--because it is terrible in that regard.

Disadvantages:

No audio out (Would be helpful for amplifiers, though unnecessary in my case).

Manual is terrible, there is no electronic manual on their website.

Brightness controls. There had to be one BIG downer. The thing is blinding in the dark, it may actually have brightness controls but without a good manual to tell me how to edit it I didn't immediately figure it out.

This radio is genius. The price is unbeatable. I soldered a hardness for my car and had it installed an hour after the package arrived.

Where my stereo is located, this light shines into my eyes and it blinds me while I am driving at night. The only other thing that I have found, is the remote control does not work. Yamaha TSX-120BL Desktop Audio System (Single, Black)

First, let me say that I am a huge Yamaha fan. I have three Yamaha receivers in use throughout the house and several others that have been replaced scattered through several other houses. It really pains me that I have to give this a split score, a 5 for what it does do and a 3 for what it should do at this price. I guess that's what audio magazines rate as "value".

Yamaha seems to resist adding features to their audio equipment. For example, it took years for their AV receivers to get a decent number of HDMI inputs. Or any at all. That's why I stuck with my RX-V1 for so long; beautiful sound, eight years to get four HDMI inputs on the RX-V1900, a nicely priced AV receiver that sounds as good as that old RX-V1 but has some newer features and for a very reasonable price. This same conservative design approach has really cut into the TSX-120's ability to be a fully useful device, especially when they are charging this premium price.

Like all Yamaha audio products this radio sounds absolutely terrific as either a radio or as a playback device for an iPod. And that's the good part. Also on the good side is that it has two alarm inputs for you and your SO's convenience. But that is about the outer edge of the good features for this radio. What it does, it does really well. It just does not do enough. One thing I noticed right away is that those alarms can not be turned on by the remote. This is a feature I'm used to with my Bose Wave radio (the one that died of old age), a similarly priced competitor, and I can see no reason Yamaha could not have included this useful feature. Just wait for the first twenty times you climb into bed and then have to get up to manually push the Alarm Set button on the unit and you'll probably agree.

This radio only has an FM radio. Too bad for me since I listen to so much AM radio but I could live with that if the FM came with HDRadio capability. Yamaha buys a ton of these chipsets for their RX and the newer Aventage receivers. That they use HD in their newest model indicates to me that they are in the HDRadio game for the long haul, which I'm happy about as I very much enjoy HDRadio, so why not include it? Adding HDRadio would have been a huge step in making this a little more worth the price.

Oh, and the layout of the remote is difficult to use and a bit arcane.

My final complaint has already been documented in other reviews. I'd like to have seen more of a differentiation in the size of the time numbers and the other info on the front panel. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see the numbers at all. This clock sits on a dresser on my wife's side of the bed and those little numbers just aren't legible to me when I wake up, bleary-eyed, in the middle of the night.

All in all, the TSX-120 is a terrific $150 clock/radio/iPod player. Except that it has an MSRP of $399. You'll have to be a real Yamaha fan to buy one of these, which I am. But not at this price, I wish there was more competition so I could have just returned it but there is not. Too much for too little pretty much wraps it up and I think I'll use it for the title of this piece.

I bought this to use primarily as a bedside alarm clock that would also play music and charge my iphone. At the same time my wife surprised me with the Yamaha TSX-70, which is really nice too. That gave me a few days to compare them and see which I prefered. They were both great in their own way, if I only I could combine the features of the two it would be the perfect unit. I ended up keeping the TSX-120 for the following reasons:

-Customization. You can set it to wake you to any playlist you choose. It also has 5 different alarm sounds, some are buzzer type sounds, but also a couple melodies which to me are better than a buzzer. I use a soft melody which is almost pleasant to wake up to, if there is such a thing.

-Sound quality is very good. Rich, full sound with several DSP settings that make a difference. Way better than most alarm/docks. In Bose class sound. Actually, at a store I compared it side by side with the bose and actually preferred it but they are both good. Of course you can't compare these to full size systems, but for it's size I'd say it's great.

-Convienent button locations and intuitive controls. Easy for me to find the snooze and alarm buttons in the dark. Two alarms that are easily set, plus when enabled the alarm time is displayed so you know for sure it's set and for what time.

Cons: the display is small and a bit cluttered. It can display artist info, song title, time remaining. If they would have made the time about twice it's size it would be perfect. The TSX-70 was much better in regard to it's time display but had no other info.

It's pretty big for an alarm clock, almost as big as two shoeboxes. I suppose the size and solid build help with sound quality so you take the good with the bad.

In summary, despite the great sound and great alarm clock functions it does lack as an alarm clock because of the small size of the display and large size of the unit. I only gave it 4 stars because I use it as an alarm clock, but as a desktop stereo it would be a 5. I suspect someday the next version of the iphone won't fit this dock anymore at which time this will no longer be useful to me as an every night charging station for my phone, but it will still make an excellent little stereo system.

I have been searching for the perfect combo of alarm clock and great sound for my bedside that would also have an iTouch dock.

I had tried and returned the Boston Acoustics Duo-i Plus which also had great sound (and a slightly better FM tuner) but suffered from the low frequency hum at low volumes when the iTouch was mounted and turned on that so many other reviewers have noted.

So I really thought that this Yamaha was going to be my ticket! Yamaha makes great stuff in every category that they are involved in. But it seems they really dropped the ball when it came to the alarm features on this unit.

Here are the cons that forced me to return it and keep looking:

1) The size of the clock display is really small. I was surprised.

2) The dual alarms do not have assignable days. Which to me, made the convenience of dual alarms almost pointless.

3) The snooze time is NOT adjustable! And is fixed at 5 MINUTES! Seriously? Why would you hit the snooze button if you're going to get only 5 Minutes more ... you might as well get up! :)

4) The FM tuner was not as strong as I was hoping.

The look and quality of the unit is top notch and sound is as awesome as Yamaha is known for.

If you're not going to use this for your main bedside alarm and FM stations are strong in your area then I can heartily recommend this unit.

This system sounds good with an MP3 player docked. The FM radio has trouble getting a clean signal with several of my local stations. The controls are all clearly labeled and you can set the Alarm and all the basic things without consulting the manual every time. The alarm can be set to wake to a specified radio station of a specified playlist. There are two 24 hr alarms but you cannot specify days of the week for the alarm. The display is crowded but it does dim properly so as not to light up the room like many of these digital clock radios do. For me the worst flaw is that the alarm turns itself off every morning after it goes off so you have to remember to turn it back on every night. The alarm cannot be turned on or off or set from the remote control you must use the top panel buttons.

I read the positive reviews on this Sony so I thought I would buy it for my 18 year old daughter who is going off to college in about a month. While this Sony does sound good and has a decent alarm, CD player, and MP3 input, the radio is not only analog, but the dial is off to the side is very tiny. It also has no battery backup!!! If listening to the radio and tuning in stations is not important to you I say go ahead and buy this clock radio. I expected that the radio part of this clock radio would have been much easier to both see and use for the price.

This product has really been a great asset to my bedroom. The controls are easy to use and I can receive most of my favorite radio stations. This clock/radio/cd player allows you to select specific tracks and setting the alarm is very simple. You can wake up to your favorite track, radio station, or the buzzer. The only thing I may not like about this product is the fact that the buzzer has a low pitch sound, but it increases in intervals. Specifically, the alarm sounds in five seconds and then gradually goes to three, and finally every second. The product also allows you to adjust the brightness of the clock in three settings. Overall, I'm happy with this product.

The cd player skips at the least bump or vibration, it's much larger that it looks in the picture, much larger than it needs to be and the multifunction switches are trouble. And last but certainly not least, Sony has set a new low in alarm clock technology...where every other manufacturer in the world has a battery backup in case of a power outage...the Sony Dream Machine does not! I guess they figure if there is a blip in the power you should just go on "Dreaming". Oh and by the way, make sure you have the instruction manual handy, once the power goes back on you'll need it to go through the process of resetting everything. If you're looking for a really good and less expensive radio/cd player alarm, check out the RCA RP5600.

I actually bought this at a flea market for a much lower cost for a quick clock to put in the daycare I was working at at the time. Wow... The sound was good & I was able to play sleep time music for the kids at nap time. I have since brought this clock radio home & have been using it to wake up with. I love that it has dual alarms so that I can set mine to wake me when I need to get up & my husband has his time to get up. The only downfall on that is I like to wake with music or radio but my hubby needs a loud alarm feature so I have to change it after I get up but other than that this is a very nice clock radio. I love that the snooze button is large enough so I won't hit the wrong button and turn it off instead. This alarm clock is very easy to set & I would recommend it for anyone.

I purchased this stereo in 2009 and it is still working just fine. The CD player sometimes takes a minute to load and sometimes gets really hot. The USB player works great, except that if you have more than 66 songs on the drive you have to individually skip each song ( since the remote and the face only go up to 6). The remote is not always responsive but I rarely use it anyhow. It has been worth the purchase as it still works very well after 3 years.

Came as described and looks great, works great as well. Easy installation. I gave it 4 stars because I can't find a way to move from folder to folder on the flash drive. That is the only fault that I have found with this system. If you don't mind skipping through the flash, it's a great purchase!

This item did not reliably wake me up. The biggest issue is that the snooze button is a bit recessed, and the 'sleep' button is right by it and is easier to press. The sleep button turns off the alarm entirely. The alarm switch is unreliable, and confusingly labeled. I noticed the alarm led flickering when I touched the switch. Steer away from Coby alarm clocks if you need to wake up.

The first thing you notice about the unit is the flat front, rather stark but common nowadays in i-docking devices. A slide-away dock is a neat feature if/when you don't need to dock your phone. The second thing that stands out is the drab color scheme. I'm no fan of battleship gray... The aluminum mesh front is fine but the shiny plastic panel on top calls out for a more imaginative color scheme. Maybe an unfair quibble.

I looked at a lot of units before choosing this one. At this price range most were cheap looking or worse cheap-feeling. This unit is quite solid and it works as advertised, all the features I wanted, in a tidy package that doesn't take up too much space on a bedside table. Where things fall apart a little for me is in the human interface. Nothing to make me return it but I wish I had seen/touched one before I bought it.

Pros:

1. Radio and sound quality are good. The rear of the cabinet sports a small bass speaker with a tuned port firing on either side. Volume is fine for a bedside radio and sound is good if not hi-fi.

2. Excellent iPhone (3GS in my case) compatibility. Occasionally the phone gives one of Apples patented "This device is not designed to work with iPhone" messages but I bet it's a connector-mating thing because the two ARE compatible and work as advertised. You can wake to iPhone music, to a buzzer or to radio.

3. The dock accepts Apple Universal adapters. I got an adapter (white sadly) with the case I bought for my iPhone and it makes for a nice trim fit that supports the phone well while docked. Slides away neatly when not in use too.

Cons (No deal breakers but things I feel are less than perfect):

1. The front face is blank of buttons except for 4 curious touch-activated switches top-right that select basic modes: radio, ipod etc. These are a little uncertain in operation but not bad. I imagine they could be troublesome for thicker fingers? Time-set, alarm set, station presets and other less-used controls are behind the flat front on the main body of the unit. Pretty standard stuff. The most often used controls (volume, snooze, tune etc. ) are on the top edge, in fact they ARE the top edge of the unit. They can be hard to tell apart in the dark but sense memory is a wonderful thing. Undocking the iPhone is a little awkward because your natural instinct is to undock the iPhone with a finger as a lever on the top edge just where the large Snooze bar is located.

2. Setting the wake times is easy enough but the nap and sleep modes are counterintuitive to setup and even worse to cancel.

3. The blurb boasts of "auto-timeset" but don't be fooled into thinking of atomic clock signals from Denver or sideband information from a PBS station. Basically they set the clock at the factory and inserted AA batteries to keep it going. When you first plug it in you choose your US timezone and it magically seems to know the time. Remove the batteries however and it's flashing digits like every other clock :-(

4. The clock display has two brightness levels though some may think even the dim setting too bright at night. More troubling for me is the limited viewing angle. Like most displays this one is designed for maximum clarity and contrast when viewed from above. Sadly when lying in bed most people will be either level or below the line of the display, making it harder to read.

So that's it. Not entirely comprehensive but hopefully useful. Regarding price, I think it's very reasonable for the quality of the unit but I would certainly like a more imaginitive color scheme :-)

good little system, daughter loves it. Sound is much bigger than it looks. Charges ipod while playing and radio automatically sets time(atomically I assume) Easy controls , she loves how the ipod mount pops out when you push it. Not sure if it was worth the walmart $69 pricetag, but a nice little alarm clock and ipod player. Kinda looks like a small executive system. (also has auxillary jack for other mp3 players). RCA---American made and still making good quality products. Daughter just showed me the lights on the top right front( for ipod, radio, functions)are actually buttons you can push, ,,,neat.

I am more than happy with my purchase of this iPod alarm clock radio. It is just the right size and fits perfectly on my night stand with a ton of extra space.

It is actually smaller in footprint than my previous iHome IH9 iPod Alarm Clock. And I actually like this unit better than that one.

The appearance is very professional with a silver metal and plastic finish on the front with black on the rear. Sound quality is above average for this class of product, although I am not quite sure if it beats the iHome, but it is definitely very close in quality.

I also like how they use touch controls on the front of the unit for: iPod, Radio, AUX, and Off. The AUX input is obviously a huge plus as you can play any media player that has a typical head phone jack on it.

The controls are very simple, to set an alarm only requires one button push (or two or three of same button if you want to be waken up by the iPod or AUX).

The only thing that is somewhat annoying is the fact that the deeper controls are recessed behind the front and kind of hard to figure out if your not looking directly over them.

Other than that I am very happy with my new iPod alarm clock. I got it at a great price and I would definitely recommend it at this price as well as the iHome is nearly $30 more expensive than this one.

Shopped for a radio/charger for my iphone. The iHome was expensive at stores for over $100. Also it's bulky. I only have a small counter space left for a bathroom radio and this one fits perfectly. Sounds good too. I love that I can now listen to Pandora radio when I'm getting ready in the mornings. I'm glad this isn't my bedroom clock radio because the blue power light which is on even in the off position (blue lights over the input-ex; ipod, radio, aux, off. I have to keep my master bathroom door closed since it's so bright. On the upside, it serves as a nightlight if I have to go to the bathroom. Other than that I love it for my purposes. Price is right!

This item looks great sleek and well designed appearance. The blue lights are shockingly bright at night, even after they have been dimmed. I also have difficulty making it work with my iPhone sometimes. That said, the dual alarm feature is great and I really like the "nap" option. I'd recommend it, but not if you need absolute darkness to sleep and plan to use your iPhone through it regularly (fine w/ iPod).
