Sylvania 8 GB Video MP3 Player with FM Tuner, built in Camera/Camcorder and 2-Inch Screen (Graphite)

Sylvania 8 GB Video MP3 Player with FM Tuner, built in Camera/Camcorder and 2-Inch Screen
  • 8 GB capacity for storage of up to 2000 songs or 25 hours of video
  • Up to 10 hours of audio playback or 8 hours of video on a single charge
  • Two-inch color TFT LCD display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution
  • Supports MP3, WMA, and AMV audio files; AVI and FLV video files; JPEG, BMP, and GIF images; TXT text files
  • One-year limited warranty

This is a good buy. It's simple to use, light weight and small enough to slip into a pocket or arm band. Loading music is a snap. If you've owned a MP3 player before, you will find some are complicated. This one is not. I own a more expensive MP3 player that doesn't have a radio. I wanted the option of playing my music or listening to the radio. I was able to afford this MP3 player without spending a ton of money so there's no guilt. The only thing I didn't like is the ear buds. I threw them out and replaced them with another set that I had. Makes a world of difference. If you use the ear buds that come with you, you will think it's not a quality purchase, but the quality and realiability is great with different ear buds. I use mine every day to walk for an hour. The battery lasts about a week which I think is really good for a low cost item like this. A recharge is quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this product.

I was actually frightened at first to get this MP3 player since all I have ever known were iPods. I have never tried a different company before until now! The thing that gave me the little push was the price, it's affordable as can be! My iPod Touch recently died, and I needed a new little MP3 player, but since it's around the holidays, I obviously couldn't afford another spendy iPod. But I obviously needed something to play my music! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MP3 PLAYER! It's REALLY easy to download your music on to it. Just drag and drop! So fast! Watching videos on it is a snap and it looks sharp. I own a Mac, and was worried how well it was actually going to work. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! When I saw the camera was a .3 mp camera, I started to get disappointed. But the pictures and videos have turned out nicely, even in dark settings! Yeah, it's not THE best quality pictures, but it does it great justice. If you were worried about a non iPod MP3, don't be! I am a happy customer!

My daughter just received this for Christmas and is thrilled with it. She thought it was an IPod. She was certain of it because her best friend has a purple IPod Nano and it has EVERY feature the Nano had except the pedometer. I showed her how it was not and with IPod you were simply paying for a name. She didn't care. She loved it and it is so easy to use! I mean so easy to load music, take pictures and video which you can save to your computer. Don't get me wrong the video and pictures aren't anything to rave about, but to nine year old...it's GREAT. Loading music is super simple. I have Vista on my computer and I simply drop and drag the music that I want and then sync it to the device. As far as long lasting quality, I can't tell you. We luckily have not dropped it yet. It may shatter all to pieces, but let's hope it's more durable. She really loves the FM tuner feature because she can listen to her own music in the car and not mom and dad's "old" music. We're happy!

I really enjoy how easy it is to set up and start downloading music from my computer. The sound is very good; much better than when I listen to those same songs from my desktop. This is the first MP3 player I've owned, so I don't know how it compares to others, but I am really happy with the sound quality and the price.

This is a neat little MP3 player which does it all. The unit has a 2" LCD TFT display, a built in camera and camcorder, and also plays FM radio! It can hold about 2,000 songs, 2,400 pictures, 1000 videos (at 10MB).

It is simple to transfer files from a computer to the device. The MP3 player has a sleek finish to it, and feels great in the hand. It is easy to navigate throuh the menus. The camera and camcorder takes ok pictures, not the highest quality to replace a camera, but good enoough to capture some funny moments, or for a child/teen to play around with.

RCA RC117 Dual USB Charging Station Clock Radio

RCA RC117 Dual USB Charging Station Clock Radio
  • Built-in charging tray with 2 USB ports and cable management
  • Optimized outlet for iPad - 2.1 amps
  • Full clock radio functionally with backlit display
  • Dual wake, sleep and snooze functions
  • Audio line-in for MP3 player connectivity

Full clock radio functionally with backlit display; the brightness control allows for 3 settings (1) High; brighter than an advantage nightlight (2) Medium; too dull to see at night (3) Off; not helpful at all. Prefect for a bedroom that requires a nightlight; we moved it into our home office. Dual wake, sleep and snooze functions work great and are easy to set. The Built-in charging tray has 2 USB ports, an auxiliary port, and cable management; it is the perfect place to dock, store, and charge our 2 iphones or my nook touch. Two suggestions for future versions (1) plugs should come from the back as opposed to sticking out the front (2) the cable management area has only 2 winders, it should have 3 2 for the USB charging cables and 1 for the auxiliary cable.

Buy RCA RC117 Dual USB Charging Station Clock Radio Now

This is a clock radio / alarm clock that also has 2 USB ports to charge your i-whatever, or anything that you charge with a USB cable. It is not a fancy stereo system docking station that charges and plays at the same time (though you can play your device with the line-in jack).

It's not fancy, but I use it every night both as an alarm clock for me and to charge 2 devices overnight... with teenagers we have a variety of iPhones / iPads / iPods in the house, and something always needs to be charged. 2 phones or iPods fit easily on the little rest area (cables stored underneath), or 1 iPad fits. As I said, I use it nightly, so it works for me.

PROS:

+ Charges 2 devices at once

+ Cables store underneath (though storage could be better)

+ Nothing elaborate; it's easy to set the time etc with this simple old-school style

+ Also a night light (light does not bother me at all)

+ Easy to find the off button (for the alarm) when in a stupor

CONS:

The cables pop out (to charge) in an awkward way, leaving a bump

Nothing elaborate, very old school

The LED display / night light may bother some (though you can turn it off)

BOTTOM LINE:

Some of my Cons are also my Pros; whether you like this or not depends on what you are looking for. If you just want a simple clock radio that can also charge your i-devices, this works! If you want good sound, or a docking station, or something attractive, you will be disappointed.

The RCA RC117 Dual USB Charging Station Clock Radio is a squat, ugly black plastic brick with buttons and lights. The selling feature is supposed to be the ports for charging various USB devices and phones and cable management.

Let's start with the good points. If you listen at low volume, the sound is OK for clock radio, whether the source is FM or iPod. Though not really a good source for dedicated listening, this radio sounds OK for background while you are prepping food in the kitchen or sorting files in the office. The charging ports work OK, and the backlit display allows some variation from glaring brightness to off. Dual alarms and an easy-to-ready clock face are pluses (but certainly expected).

Now for some of the cons for this device. First, it is ugly; the buttons are tiny and hard to see. Larger buttons or a small LED halo around each would really prove helpful. The so-called cable management requires you to wrap up your cables around a couple of spools like you are tying a barge to a dock. (No, this radio does not come with any cables, so you will have to relocate yours or buy another set.) Once you have coiled your cables around the spools, you next have to thread them through them through an opening between the cheesy removable tray and the unit.

That tray itself is a real piece of work. It does not fit well or stay in place. It is basically a piece of heavy cardboard wrapped in some sort of nonskid fabric, and it is just plain ugly. Our radio is stationed in the kitchen, and I already imagine what any spill would do its removable surface for cable management.

Yes, it does work, and elegance is not a requirement. But for what you are getting here, a $20 asking price is about right in my opinion. USB and phone charges are not expensive, and the shortcomings and squatty toad-like looks of this device should give you pause.

I bought this for the 2 USB charging ports and the AUX port thinking it was a full featured modern clock radio. I should have paid more attention to all the specs before ordering. It DOES NOT receive AM radio. It also does not have a battery backup or an "atomic clock" auto set feature, making it an unreliable device as a primary alarm clock.

This alarm clock has no backup battery. So if the power goes up, expect to be late for work like me.

Clearly cheaply made. Do not recommend this item at all.

This speaker is quite nice. I'm no audiophile, I was simply looking for a bluetooth speaker, preferably with a clock, when I came across this at a local store. I gambled and brought it home and so far I'm very happy with it. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I've used it quite a bit in that time. It easily synced up with my Android phone and iPod via bluetooth, and I was streaming Pandora right away--nice!

Pros:

Nicely constructed--I hung mine from the wall and it looks good.

Sounds very good (to my untrained ear) at low and moderate volumes. I haven't had it super loud, but it projects nicely into a large living room/kitchen at moderate levels.

FM and bluetooth have been seamless.

Cons:

The clock only displays 24-hr time. I don't mind because I am in the military and I'm used to it, but it's a very odd engineering choice. This is why I'm deducting one star.

The remote could be better, and it's required for some functions (like setting the clock) so take care of it.

I know there are similar speakers from Creative and others, and I can't give any comparison to those. One last comment I'll make, though, is to consider the size. This speaker is sound-bar sized, whereas some of the Creative speakers are much smaller and may sound just as good.

Not much bass at all and not very loud. Couldnt get it to work with my VIZIO TV. The bluetooth function works great though with the IPhone.

I purchased this soundbar and after hooking it up to my Samsung TV it was not working correctly. I verified that the settings were correct in the menu setup for an external speaker, but could not hear the voice through the sound bar. Background noises in a program could be heard, but actual conversation was not audible. I purchased a higher quality RCA connector through Radio Shack and the sound bar is now working as expected.

Nokia 3220 Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera--U.S. Version with Warranty (Silver)

Nokia 3220 Unlocked Cell Phone with Camera--U.S. Version with WarrantyI'm peruavian, bought this phone in Peru with movistar service...

PROS:

It looks nice and solid. I was very scared in scratching the screen (I've always done this in my past phones) and this one is incredible solid! the phone also felt down once, of course with no intention, and continue working normal.

It has cool features, you can personalize where to locate your quick options in the menu, so you get a very simple navigation. Finally i have to say that the battery is great...i can use it for 4 days with regular use and continues working.

CONS:

The internal memory is poor.

No USB cable included.

Pictures with low resolution(but normal in cell phones of its kind)

This phone is still BIG and heavy considering some other models.

For the price, durability and apparel this one is a good choice.

I've never made friends with nokia in the past, and i regret, beacuse this is a very good choice if you need a hard-everyday-use phone...simple and firm.

I've had this phone for just over a year now, and it has been a good phone, but after a year of use, its pretty shot. It operates fine, but the physical looks and features wear out very fast. The rubber side pieces were a nice little thing to have until they started to yellow and they all fell off. It doesn't support mp3 ringtones. However, I have never had a problem with the service and its been a great phone for texting and talking. Battery life is pretty good also. I absolutely love the user-friendly menus and screen features. Nokia has done a great job creating one of the best phone operating systems out there.

First a disclaimer. I am an unabashed biased Nokia phone user. They have better reception, better user interface, better reliability, and free PC Suite Nokia PC connection software(read this OUTLOOK/SYNC CONTACTS BACKUP).

This phone has a thoughtful alarm sequence and missed call/msg/alarm alert. It begins with vibrate, moves to vibrate+low ring, then vibrate+increasing louder ring, and finishes with occasional side light blinks if you never answer. Very pleasant non-irritating reminder.

The Contact Note length has been increased from previous Nokia Series 40 phones about 4 times. This is very nice if you use your phone to add extra info notes to your contacts, a very nice business feature. The PDA features have been expanded with TODO lists, Weekly calendar/appts view, Notes list, and Meeting/Memo alarm types.

The GOTO list has been expanded for customizable quick access to your most used phone functions. Contacts, Msg, Calendar, and Camera functions access are fixed on the navigation keys. Nice. The camera is good for email and 4X6 shots in adequate light only. Typical of these business phones.

Some reviews on the inet mention this phone is designed to attract the younger crowd because of its side lights and customizable 'electric' face plate option. Well, this may be, but for the rest of us practical users, without the option face plate, this is a very small and thin small business phone with side lights that blink when a msg/call is arriving and blink intermittently forever until you look at any missed msg/call/alarms. NICE!

I won't mention all the other features because they are covered in others reviews and are in the specs, so let me just say this is an excellent phone for anyone from the young to the small business person to the less experienced user. It covers most of the bases needed, and in a small, practical, feature laden platform.

Did I mention it has three ways to backup your precious and value contact/notes data base, tediously built up over valuable time; SIM CARD on board stores/backs-up to 256 contact numbers, SyncML Client to upload your full phone memory to free online backup/recover sites, and thirdly, Nokia's free PC Suite Windows software that makes your phone appear as just another external storage device you can 'Explore'!

You will like it if your heart is not set on an MP3 player and HiQ Camera combination device. More to go wrong so better separate in my opinion.

I have been very pleased with T-Mobiles service in S CA. You can use this phone as a no contract GO PHONE for 8.5 cents per minutes when you buy a T-Mobile SIM card and a 1000 minute card as low as $85. If you chatter a lot, then the free nights/weekends/faves minutes with contract and phone makes more sense. Hope this helps. :)

this phone has more features than i need, so i can only evaluate the basic functions which were fine. if it weren't for the bad service i'm getting from T-Mobile i wouldn't even dream of getting rid of it. I've had it over a year and never had any trouble with it. I used the camera in the beginning as a novelty but i don't use it much anymore, but it works fine.

I loved this phone when I got it. It lasted a year and I had no problem with it untill my son threw it in a glass of juice. If only it were water proof, it would be perfect. I've had a selection oh phones since this one and they didnt compare, so as of now I'm waiting on my new nokia 3220. The menu isnt as bad as one person said, and there are short cut menus. Also to adjust the call volume you have to be talking, just push the over button to the left or right. I loved this phone and I cant wait for my new one.

Disney Pixar Cars Dashboard Projection Alarm Clock - Cars Alarm Clock

Disney Pixar Cars Dashboard Projection Alarm Clock - Cars Alarm ClockBought this for my boys room. Now I see why they don't tell you much about it.

1. It ONLY operates on batteries.

2. So how does it project light on the ceiling without running down the batteries? Easy it ONLY projects for a few seconds after you roll over, reach out and find the tiny button on the back of the clock and push it in! I have owned 3 different projection clocks which only use the batteries for back-up and project the time 24 hours a day.... not this one.

3. The clock is so light that in order to push the button you have to hold the clock to keep itfrom moving around. Then, the tiny button you have to push to turn on the projection is the same size and only 1/4 inch away from the alarm on and off button! And So if he uses the alarm to get up for school and hits the wrong adjacent button in the middle of the night he turns off his alarm!!

I am returning it tomorrow, especially for $27.00

This alarm clock is sturdy, and it gets my son up for school on time. We are happy with the purchase.

Buy Disney Pixar Cars Dashboard Projection Alarm Clock - Cars Alarm Clock Now

The clock is really small for starters. On top of that the numbers are backwards on the screen. I'd like my kid to know how the number are supposed to look and not be confused by a cheap and clearly broken clock. Not to mention the projector for the time doesnt stay on for more than 15 seconds. I would never tell anyone to get this clock. Worst purchase of the holidays for me.

Sirius ST2 Starmate Replay Satellite Radio with Car Kit

Sirius ST2 Starmate Replay Satellite Radio with Car Kit
  • Plug-and-play satellite radio transmits wireless over your vehicle stereo
  • Features a five-line LCD display, 30 channel presets, and 30-song memory for favorite song or artist alerts
  • Game alert notifies you when your favorite NBA, NFL, NHL, or college teams are playing
  • Includes a vehicle docking station with a suction-cup mount, DC power adapter, and antenna that mounts on your car
  • Internal memory stores the last 44 minutes of programming for easy play-back

I got my Starmate Replay about a month ago. Since then, I only listen to "normal" radio when Howard Stern is on in the mornings. After that, it's Sirius all day long. Come January, I'll be saying goodbye to terrestrial radio.

The good:

The size of the unit makes it a breeze to install. I originally mounted it on my dash in front of my steering wheel where I could see it and access it easily. I used velcro for that install, but it didn't work out as nicely as I wanted. I solved that problem with a vehicle specific dash mount from Crutchfield. Best $35 I spent. The unit is now mounted just to the right of the factory radio and is out of the way, yet still very accessible. The remote is a good size without being too small. The buttons are well placed and it works good without having to point it directly at the unit. That said, I rarely use it. The unit is well within easy reach without taking my eyes off the road.

Bad:

I dont really have anything "bad" to say. The unit does get warm, but that seems to be an industry wide side effect. I keep the brightness and contrast at a minimum and that seems to keep the unit a tad cooler. I do not have a fear that the unit will overheat. It just doesn't get that hot.

Overall I'm very satisfied with this unit. So much so that I just bought another one as a gift.

I want to start out saying that I was leery about buying another Starmate radio, because my original was only a few months old and wouldn't play most of the time.

Well, I am SO glad I ditched it and bought this Starmate Replay. I live in Central New Jersey, and travel to South Jersey all the time. This radio has great receptionmuch better than the old version. I do not have to change the frequency when I travel into Philadelphia airwaves, and if I do, it can be done on the fly with the touch of a button. You can store up to 5 FM stations in the Replay, so you can switch without taking your eyes off the road.

I also like that I can tap a button and scroll through to see what artists or songs are playing while still listening to a station.

I was forever forgetting to turn the old one off, but this one can be set to turn off after 1 hour of inactivity. It will prompt you with a signal, and you can override it by hitting the main button.

I didn't think I would use the replay optionI thought of it as something guys would like for sportsbut I use it all the timeI can run into a store and rewind back a favorite song or even rewind Howard if I miss something or can't believe what someone just said!

All in all, this radio is a great investmentI truly enjoy it.

The screen now has 5 cracks in it and I can't read a thing.

The problem is this...I move the Starmate in between my home car and work almost on a daily basis.

The "stand" and the clip-on car holder are some of the worst designed accessories I have ever seen. The pressure it takes to clip it on and off is absurd. Not to mention the fact that the radio has NO CASE! There should be a hard-shelled case to slip the receiver in and out of.

Overall love the radio, but hate the lack of thought put into protecting it

Want Sirius ST2 Starmate Replay Satellite Radio with Car Kit Discount?

I have several Sirius Satellite radios, but this one is the best. The contact to the antenna is perfect. The displays are easy to read. The radio is simple to program. There are 30 presets for favorite channels. There is a pause feature that records for upto 45 minutes, and that is a great function.

If you don't have satellite radio you do not know what you are missing. It is cable for your radio. The best invention ever.

I gave this radio to my wife for Xmas as she is a Stern groupie and has a 1 hour commute, boring terrestrial radio couldn't keep her awake so getting this thing was a safety issue. The thing worked fantastic for 4 months and then quit, displaying the " Acquiring Signal" message ad infinitum. I called Sirius to get an RMA, sent it back and we are still waiting for the replacement after 2 weeks. I really think the radio sucummed to the heat these things generate which is an inherent design flaw so I have no confidence in the replacement lasting more than a few months. There is no reason for these radios( all makes and models generate excessive heat ) to get as hot as they do. Also, if you are expecting high fidelity audio out of satelite radio be it Sirius or XM you will be disappointed. Well heck, they need to plow some of their revenues into improving the technology.

PHILIPS CD PLAYER ALARM CLOCK AND RADIO AJ3935

PHILIPS CD PLAYER ALARM CLOCK AND RADIO AJ3935This alarm-clock is so good that this is the 2nd time I am going to buy it. First one cracked during our last moving and, after searching carefully for latest models, no one have all the great functionalities and quality of sound that this one does: extremely good surround sound, ability to select the track of your preference for being waked up, progressive volume until you get waked up (gentle wake-up), and, specially, a different weekends alarm set-up, because you definitely don't want to be waked up on the best day of the week, or wanna be at a different time of the day... among many other great features. I am afraid this piece of gold is discontinued without a true worthy substitute, improving its actual capabilities. The only thing that's really lacking is mp3 player and ipod connection, that's all, but has all-in-one all capabilities that other alarm-clock have but no one offers in a single model. It's design is fashionable and it's so simple to use that you don't even need to read the manual.

Not many electronic products made these days will still be working in 2022, but I bet this alarm will. I bought this alarm clock in 1999!! It has survived eight moves, multiple girlfriends and a flood. I still use it to this day. It has never failed once. I only use it as a an alarm, so I can't really comment on the "sound" of it playing music or radio. The only complaint from the perspective of today would be it's size. It takes up like half of my nightstand. You can adjust the green glow from the screen (high, medium, low), and even set any track on a CD to wake you up (starts at low volume and slowly increases in volume). Just a great, well made product.

The favorite part for me is that I have every single button memorized, with muscle memory, so I can set or change any function by memorization after just waking up, eyes closed and fully groggy. Of course, if you want that aspect, you'll need to spend the next 11 years with it.

Nokia E90 Communicator Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Media Player, and MicroSD

Nokia E90 Communicator Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Media Player, and MicroSD Slot--U.S. Version with WarrantyI've used Nokia phones all my life, except well for the P990i from Sony. There are absolutely NO other phones, that even compare, beleieve me i've dealt with Sony Erricson, Samsing, LG and what not. Nokia are the best. THey're previous Communicators were bigger, and as amaing, I never thought they could beat it. But of course, being nokia, they paved the way.

This phone, is smaller, and thinner than the previous 9500 and 9300i. It is just slightly wider, the chasm used to open it is much stronger, and the keys illumuminated (finally! in the inner keyboard), and the outer keys are amazingly easy to use. The software, the speed, and camera, all amaing. Nokia outdid themselves on this one, this is a much improved phone, working seamlessly, keeping up with every task. The camera, 3.2 MP is a nice addition as is the 2nd VGA camera. Dont be fooled by the review above me, this phone is amazing. I've had it for abt 3 months now, bought it for a very high price. I cudnt be happier...if you do hear bad reviews abt this, its coz most ppl are new to the symbian software. It allows multiple programs to run simultaneously, for e.g. you can surf the net, access the menu turn on the media player listen to music, and at the same time view a powerpoint of word file. Course, you can switch between these like on a computer, but you need to know how to. Many ppl new to this, just think like any other phone pressing the 'end call' button closes everything. Thats not the case here! Ppl forget to close the programs, and open in addition to 4 or 5, and then complain abt it crashing. It can handle many many at the same time, but sometimes you forget and have too many open (there is a dedicated button to see whats open and switch). So anyone complaining it abt it being slow, is simply not using it properly. All Sumbian 60 series phones can do this...my last phone was the N93. Enjoy

I bought this phone to replace my Nokia 9300 and let me tell you, what an upgrade. Even though this phone's 3G capabilities will not work on AT&T's network, I find it to be a real pleasure to use. It is very well made with little plastic involved and the keyboard now has a back light as well as a two screen setup that now handles millions of colors. In short, if you are looking for a computer and a phone in one, this is your best option at this time in the U.S... It is very expensive but worth every bit of dosh you part with!

Buy Nokia E90 Communicator Unlocked Phone with 3.2 MP Camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Media Player, and MicroSD Now

I upgraded to an E90 after 1.5 years using a Nokia 9300 to it's limits.

My impression is that they made a list of every single complaint I had about the 9300 and addressed each of them! It's a fantastic cell phone and I love it.

on the 9300 I didn't even bother looking at the outside S40 screen, I opened it each time even to place a call; with the E90, switching seamlessly from screen to screen just by opening and closing the phone, I find myself using the outside screen more and more, I even T9 type text in the numeric keypad!... the outside screen is great for one hand operation, great not to call too much attention to a full qwerty phone when I don't want to and great for the casual email read... I think if I didn't have the option of switching to the internal big and high-resolution screen I'd find myself cursing the QVGA outside screen, but knowing I have the option of a big screen at any time makes me more tolerant to the smaller resolution outside screen and I use it a lot

the keyboard back-light is something you don't use all the time but when you do you realize how incredibly great it is

the inside screen, with even higher resolution than on the 9300 is absolutely great

the keyboard could be a little softer but the truth is that I find myself making less typing mistakes than with the 9300; the new layout is much better and the "joystick" much more precise

vibrating alert is great but I miss the timed mode that makes it come back to the ringing General profile at a specified time

the camera could have an optical zoom but it's good enough like it is... 640*480 30fps video is great

sound recording and playback has very good quality

the interface to the WiFi interface and to the GPRS/EDGE/3G APNs is great and makes me confident I'm in control of what is being used or not, unlike some complaints I heard with WM6 that you suddenly find yourself using EDGE when you wanted wifi, etc

the GPS and Nokia Maps is awesome but I also use Google Maps a lot with it

firmware/software upgrade through PC Suite is a blessing

I had a 9300 (no WiFi) and an unlimited data plan, I find myself using GPRS (or EDGE or 3G) data much more often than WiFi in the E90 but in some situations, specially when you are away from your country and GPRS data is expensive, Wifi is very much welcome

the 9300 Internet browser was a joke... very slow! when I found Opera Mini for it I never looked back to the internal browser; on the E90 the internal browser is very good, and the ability to play Flash and even YouTube video is very interesting

The single complaint I have about it is that it's S60 and not S80... the larger availability of software is welcome but I miss having a menu, I miss having more qwerty keyboard shortcuts, I miss the more elaborate S80 Calendar application...

Not S60/S80 related:

The few keyboard shortcuts it has are totally undocumented, I can't understand why.

Another complaint is the lack of a "open new window" command on the Internet browser... it does that when you click a link that instructs is to open a new window, but this command is not in the browser interface! I'd also like the Back command not to reload the page... would make it faster!

Last point: don't make the mistake of buying this phone and using a limited or expensive data plan, you'll be missing a lot!

It's a business cell phone, with wifi access to the Internet and I would rather work with this cell than my laptop.

You can install Skype, Google Maps, Fax Center, and it all works with the bluetooth.

It's my new secretary. It stays on the table. Bluethooth on the year. And it's all there. I'm free working. Even in any hotel, anywhere.

It's just superior.

(obs: it's made of titanium the piece that joins both parts together it'll never break).

U$ 700 is a bargain (in April 2008)

The product is fantastic but the software that manage the contacts, the calculator, and SMSs have a lot less features than the nokia 9300. The performance is good. Hardware can be rated as 5 stars, but the software compared to the 9300 is 3 to 3 1/2 stars.

Clarion CZ100 In-Dash CD / MP3 / WMA / AAC Reciever
  • Bluetooth® Ready with BLT370
  • 18 FM / 6 AM
  • Front AUX Input
  • LCD13 x 10 Single-Line
  • BeatEQ for User Customizable Sound

Looks and sounds great, and the build quality is very good. Has a bunch of options for tuning your sound. The built in low pass filter and subwoofer controls are great. I have this powering the Pioneer TS-A6872R 6-Inch X 8-Inch 3-Way 240-Watt Speakers (Pair) and it sounds great. The FM reception is extremely good. The only reason I give this 4 stars is due to the fact that the clock will not display unless you push a button. If you take any other action you must push the same button in order to make the clock display. There should at least be the option to have the clock be the default display.

UPDATE: I'm now using a JVC KTHDPK1 / KT-HDPK1 / KT-HDPK1 Transportable HD Radio Receiver with Car Kit with this head unit and it sounds like the band is in my car. Also using a JVC KS-AX3002 Compact 2-Channel Power Amplifier with 370 Watts Max. Power Output (Black) to drive the the Pioneers I mentioned above.

UPDATE 2: There is now a newer version called the CZ101, might want to check that one out too

I've had this head unit for about a week and a half so far in a '93 Honda Civic CX. Hooked to it, I have a pair of 5 1/4 Pioneer TS-G1343R speakers. I am very impressed with the combo and the sound coming from my speakers. This head unit adds an extra something to the sound that seems to be missing in other budget head units. Something that makes me want to keep listening to the music, instead of just turning it off. I suppose that can be good and bad, since I have to move on with my life. Honestly, this head unit is a bit ritzier that what I need, and has blue illumination that is very fancy. Some of the buttons are a little hard to press and will need a bit of wearing in. The navigation is not completely intuitive, but close enough. The EQing options are quite impressive, giving you the ability to tweak the frequency and Q of the bass and midrange, and just the frequency for the treble. If you are getting older and you have lost your ability to hear around 15 kHz (the highs cease to sound crisp to you anymore, but rather they sound tinny), no problem. Just turn the treble frequency down to something in the 12 kHz range, or even lower. If you know how to use a detailed EQ, it can really work to your advantage.

You get 18 watts RMS per channel, which isn't bad, but Clarion certainly has head units that are much higher if you shell out the $$$. You get 4 RCA outputs, which rivals most head unit's 2 outputs. If you have a car with steering wheel audio controls, there is a connection in the back of this head unit for that, which is uncommon for head units that are this cheap.

The radio sounds great on many channels, and this head unit seems to really reveal the bad EQing and poor signal quality on certain FM radio stations. Whereas, on my old Pioneer most channels sounded pretty good, on this head unit, certain channels sound awful and other sound excellent. But one major drawback is that this tuner does not pull in the channels as well as many other similarly priced tuners. Even though it can sound good, it just doesn't pull in channels like my old Pioneer. It occasionally skips pretty strong channels, and I have to rescan to find them, and it is not uncommon to have the signal go in and out when driving under trees and through certain areas. So if you need stellar, perfect signals that don't go in and out once in a while, you might look at some other head units, or even some higher level Clarion's. I've never had a problem with the tuner in Pioneer's though, as they've really gotten it down to a science. However, I have never had any problems with AM reception on this head unit. AM signals come in perfectly fine, and maybe better than my old Pioneer.

The fit and finish of this head unit is pretty good, but I'll have to see how it holds up over time. I had a Pioneer DEH-P6400 head unit that I paid $300 for back in the day, and it was wonderfully built and only started having problems ejecting cds after about 7 years (but you could still get them out with a little work). I don't really feel like I've downgraded too much with this Clarion, although I don't think it's going to be as fit and finish as my old Pioneer. But for the price, this head unit is great so far. And it sounds a little better than my old Pioneer. Can't put my finger on why.
