I had the previous model of the st louis phone and it lasted awhile and was great, but it quit working and I got this model. Its absolutely worthless! I can hardly hear when im on the phone with someone. And, the retractable cord would be a great idea if it actually retracted properly and had enough cord to actually retract. There are also little lights in the top, I think they are supposed to work.. they don't. and they clock seems to work randomly. This is the most unreliable and useless phone I have ever owned. Was surprised to see so little in the way of reviews on the web; so I submit descriptions other than the list of 'features'. This company spares no expense in craftsmanship. It is a well built piece. Anyone who is fond of retro will like this. As described, the handset is hefty just like the bell shaped phones of the 40's.Everything is hefty especially buttons and switches. This makes a handsome addition to any decor other than the featureless, barren desert of 'moderne' the look of all black, white or grey...like your silverish-grey, non descript car, that you can't tell who manufactured it by looking only at the side.( shudder )( where did all these vapid grey peopleand their boring grey cars come from? Is it some kind of national psychological malady? No one can think for themselves anymore? They have to be told what to buy..mostly by looking around them and "buying what THEY buy " ?)Ah , but I digress...This IS a land line; plugs into the wall phone jack -with a 25 foot extension, perhaps, placed next to your leather/wood chair for TV. You have two choices when you hear the ring pick up the handset of olden days-or push the spring loaded 'Ball Bat" switch for "Speakerphone"...which "answers" the call; you then talk hands free, thanks to the speaker for the caller, and a mike for your voice. Push the speakerphone switch again, and you just hung up!
It is easy to operate, and to store numbers. AA battery required for the clock ( also cool ). I could not see the polarity marks-made two guesses, and discovered the positive goes to the left as you face the front of the phone...goes into the top of the lid. Two AA batteries for the LED lights for incoming calls...they go into a compartment on the bottom, requiring a very small phillips. The phone itself, is powered by the phone line itself, as all land lines are-and why a land line works , often, when the house power is out!
I have long admired and enjoyed my Spirit of St Louis (large version ) Boombox inn the same handsome style and superb craftsmanship. I would give them both 5 stars except that the audio electronics leaves a bitt to be desired. Good audio amps can be had for under $30,which I would gladly pay for. Speakers of very wide frequency range and decibel level can be had for a reasonable amount too. I would gladly have paid more for these finely made pieces, if the company had spent more on the audio portion. Since that is my hobby, I will no doubt upgrade the audio myself. I'll come back later to report on that experiment
A clue:...you can't find the Boombox for sale now, and the cool Radio they made...these things do sell out. I would not dilly dally if I were you.
For now, the price of them IS competitive, so be wise , be informed...and TRY thinking for yourself ...you know it is okay to be a unique individual.This isn't high school anymore where the bullies beat you up because your mom dressed you funny.it's looking quite decoratively and it works like a charm, it has a marvellous sound quality, it has memory function and doesn't need any power-supply just a perfect "phone-on-a-cord"

So, moving along... Unpacking and getting it up and playing is as easy as the listing said it would be. Take the cord, plug it into the unit, and plug the other side into the wall, and voilayou're ready to go. One thing that I want to mention is that this does not come with an FM/AM antenna included, but the instruction manual says that you can plug one in, so that's something you may want to consider if you're living in the boonies or out in the middle of BFN. The unit uses the power cord as the antenna, and the manual states that the cord should be straight to get optimal results, but I haven't really had any problems with getting the stations I want to listen to, so it might be YP, but not MP. (My problem)
The design of the unit is very simple and seemingly seemless. There is a "touch pad" at the top of the unit, which is nothing more than an invisible button useful for the alarm functions, a slot for a CD, an lcd display, all on a clunky, though charmingly attractive box. The remote control is essential to this music player's operation, and Bose is probably counting on me losing it so they can wring me out for more cash. The remote is nothing special, and almost reminds me of those remotes I used to get when I had Kenwood CD players and disc changers installed in my car. Nonetheless, if you lose it, you won't be able to use this thing for much.
There are four inputs/outputs on the back of the system, and they are: FM antenna, Bose link, AUX in, and Headphones. The AUX in and Headphones outputs are both 3.5 mm, which is the smaller of the two main connectors, but if you have a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter (that costs like 2 bucks on amazon) you can plug in your digital piano, or guitar from the amp into the AUX IN. I've done both, and the sound, especially from my Casio Previa Digital Piano came out about a million times cleaner and more pleasing than the stock speakers. You can also use professional headphones with quarter inch jacks with the adapter, but that almost defeats the purpose of spending 500 bucks+ on a stereo set.
After taking the time to learn the components, the remote and operation, alarm functions and time setup etc. and finally getting to really listen to music, it's easy to remember why I bought this thing in the first place. The sound is as good as money can buy. I'm a leisure musician living with a family of musicians, and we all appreciate the distinctive Bose sound. The songs I've listened to seem to come to life, and the speakers don't miss a single detail. Playing Christopher Cross's "Sailing" turns the living room into a warm day in the bay, listening to Kenny Chesney takes me back to my roots in Tennessee, "Turkish March" transforms the space into a music hall, and the bass from Juvenile's "Back that Azz Up" really makes my house feel like the VIP room at the club. When I listen to my Wave, I like to just close my eyes and absorb the sound that you almost never get to hear in your car or from your ipod. It's ear candy.

Needed a new radio for my livingroom and wanted a quality, small sound system.this Bose Wave Radio III had many of the features I was looking for except for two things, no integrated iPod/iPhone connection and the price was a little higher than I wanted to pay. I purchased the Bose Ipod dock separatley for $99
None the less I brought it and am happy with some of the sound and quality. The remote control seems cheap and could be an issue if you use the radio/player a lot (buttons might wear out sooner seems they could have added some extra buttons on the radio itself not just only rely on the remote).
There is the touch power off/on feature which is nice feature. It plays MP3 disks and regular music CDs. The sound was only good. I had to turn the volume way up to get a decent tones and sounds from my music CDs do need some volume to get the best sound, this system did not perform as I would have expected. I eventually moved it to my bedroom which is smaller. That's the only way I was able to get the nice loud sounds I like from the big box speakers. Unfortunately i ened up purchaseing the big speakers and system for my livingroom. This system is not for those that like to adjust bass and treble since there is not a button to do so. i also do not like that you have to use the reomote for everything. this could potentially be a problem in the future if the reomte is misplaced or damage.

For years I have wanted a Bose radio. I dedided not long ago that I deserved to give myself a birthday/Christmas present. I ordered my Bose from Amazon.com. It is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard from a radio. I love classical/semiclassical music....and coming from the Bose it sounds as if the orchestra is in the same room with me. Had Wave III system with multi cd changer for 2 years (11/2010 purchase) and cds starting skipping. Called local reputable electronics dealership. They cant service because Bose wont support any U.S electronic repair facilities with parts. However, they will do it for some countries overseas. Bose wants you to pack it up and ship it for a $100 repair bill with a three-week turnaround. Doesn't include shipping and tax. Customer service rep said they do that for "customer convenience". Huh? After that conversation, they're not getting any more of my money. So I popped the lid. Hoping against hope maybe a good air clean could fix it. Wished everyone could see inside before they buy one of these. Definitely form over function. Good looking piece of equipment that has good sound but extremely poor quality electronics inside. Surprised it lasted this long. Air clean didnt help. Just thought you ought to know before you buy.1) Unable to adjust the bass and treble
2) Unable to shuffle more than 1 CD's music at a time
3) Unable to program to eliminate songs I don't want to hear
The customer support people at Bose were fantastic. The small unit sounded fabulous but I just could not keep it since, over time, I would have had regrets due to the above 3 reasons.
LEGO Brick Boombox - Blue
I bought this boombox for my 4yr old son's bedroom. I thought it was cute, and that it wouldn't be too baby looking in a few years assuming it would last a few years. What a waste of money. Within 2 weeks the cd player stopped working. It won't play any kind of cd's burned or regular. Not to mention the sound quality is TERRIBLE, but it didn't seem to bother my 4yr old. The aux input and the radio still work, but the cd player ( which is why we bought it ) is broken. I made the mistake of buying it from ToysRus...they won't take it back. They will exchange it for the identical item....but I don't want to exchange my piece of garbage for another piece of garbage. I wrote to Digital Blue, the company that manufactures this....and they offered to test my unit, and determine whether or not they will REPLACE it. Once again, I DO NOT want piece of junk! Save yourself the frusration and $50.00 ( which is kind of alot for what it is) and DO NOT purchase !

I admit it I am an adult and I bought this item. It had a lot of negative reviews, but they seemed to be written by people who gave this item to their four or five-year-old children. Those reviewers complained about it breaking after a few days. If you intend to give this item to a child, as I'm sure a lot of people do, perhaps you should pay attention to the warnings of those other reviewers.However, if you are an adult who just happens to like Legos, likes the color of this item, and wants a radio and/or a CD-player, then I totally recommend this product! It has worked for at least a month and I've played it for several hours each time I use it. I have used it both as a radio and as a CD-player multiple times. It also appears to be cat-proof (they have walked on top of it several times). I have it in my kitchen near my sink, which is not exactly a delicate, protected environment. Therefore, I think the durability of this product is fully adequate for a person who is 10 years old or more, and possibly a younger person if he / she is careful. Also, the reception of this radio, while not perfect, is a lot better than other radios I have had in the past. In short, I recommend this product and I am glad I purchased it.
Con as noted by another reviewer, this item does not have a clock. It shows numbers in the photo / image, but those are the numbers of the radio station. A clock would definitely be a nice feature to have.

Purchased this CD Boom Box for my 5 year old son. He loves it.When you purchase it from Toys R us you will notice a sticker on the display that shows the time. Yup you guessed it... it has no clock.

We bought this for our 5 year old. He loves running around and dancing to music, so he was quite excited to have his very own radio/cd player. We put up on top of his dresser so he couldn't mess with it (he's rather rough on toys). We noticed after a few days that sometimes the volume gets really loud, despite the radio being set at the lowest possible volume. To "reset" it you have to turn it off and then on again. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. You have to just turn it off and on again and hope. Again, it was placed higher up, so we know our son hasn't touched it. What a piece of junk.

About a year ago I upgraded my speakers from a set of so-so Infinity speakers (which were nicer than your typical person's speakers but certainly not audiophile stuff). I invested about $3800 in a set of Paradigm Studio 100s and a Paradigm DSP 3100 subwoofer. Amazing, unbelievable speakers that still leave me awestruck a year later. If you can afford it (which you probably can if you're looking at this) and you're in the market for speakers DON'T OVERLOOK PARADIGM. They really are jaw-dropping.
My problem was that these are large speakers 5 drivers each. So my Harman Kardon AVR40 just wasn't doing the job. It's a good sounding amp but nowhere near the class of my speakers. So I have been waiting until I had some cash to upgrade my amp. My plan had been to purchase a power amp and just run from the preamp outs of the AVR40 to the new power amp. I had set my sights on the Emotiva XPA-2. Read nothing but great things about it and the price was right. But through a family member who works for Harman Int'l I discovered I was able to get HK at a discount. So I decided to go with this, based primarily on the existing reviews and the bang for my buck.
Here are my initial impressions:
PRO
High frequency. The improvement in top end is dramatic. Especially given the capability of my speakers, the airy, open, bright, crystal clear top end is stunning. The kids and I were watching "Young Justice" last night on Cartoon Network. The voices and sound effects just sounded unbelievable. I've never ever on any stereo anywhere heard the clarity I'm now getting. Even my wife NOT an audiophile said "Wow that really sounds good."
PLENTY of power.
Flexible set up options. Lots of inputs including digital and XLR, which can be routed to any of the sources.
A plethora of EQ options, which can be individually set on each input source. So you can run one source to bypass EQ, one to use an automatic EQ setting, one to a set of manually chosen options.
Room correction. It has a mic which you use in four different places to run an a set of auto EQ parameters. Never had an amp with that before.
Awesome looks.
CON
Documentation is inadequate. Given the massive variety of options, the instructions are pretty scant. For example it explains that you can manually set EQ but doesn't explain how to do that. It doesn't explain how to route inputs. There really should be a flowchart that explains the menu system and where to go for each function.
The high frequency can actually be a little overwhelming. Not let me hasten to add that my ears are getting used to it, I haven't spent a whole lot of time with it. And there's always an adjustment period. But some people might consider it a little overly bright I think.
Midrange. Again let me add the caveat that perhaps my previous, cheaper amp OVERemphasized middle frequencies. But I feel like voices, electric guitars, snare drums, and toms are maybe lacking a little punch that I like in the 1-2 khz range. This is extremely subjective, so this may not be a good criticism. It's just different. If I was describing the mid-range I wouldn't call it "muscular."
Manual EQ options. As far as I can tell (and it's hard to tell because the documentation is not very detailed and the menu interface is not super intuitive) the manual EQ options are limited to bass, treble, subwoofer level, and subwoofer crossover frequency. When you pay $2000+ for an amp you expect the EQ options to be a little more specific than bass and treble.
Tuner. There isn't one. This is really not a criticism so much as just pointing out something that I didn't notice before ordering. I have my previous amp with tuner, I can just run that into the "processor" input on the HK990. But if you want to use a tuner you'll need to plan extra room for it in addition to the amp.
CONCLUSION
I'm not going to give you a "bottom line" cuz it's too subjective. It might be the perfect amp for you. Or maybe not. I will set myself a calendar reminder to update my review on Jan 1st. At that point I will have had time to do some extensive listening and for my ears to adjust.
1/8/12 UPDATE...
So I've been listening like crazy over the last 3-4 weeks. Here are my additional thoughts:
Clarity it's just unreal. I brought a friend over to hear it. He's a musician hi/fi guy. After a few minutes listening the first thing he said was "wow the clarity is really surprising." I remind you that this amp is paired with a set of world class (IMO) speakers but again if you're considering this piece of gear you probably have nice stuff, too. I think I have reached the point of diminishing returns. I could try more amps, replace cables, etc., but it's hard to imagine the clarity of sound getting much better. I can only imagine what it would sound like if I hadn't abused my ears so much in my youth and permanently damaged them. (Let that be a warning to all you young'uns!)
High frequency I think the honest truth is I was just getting to used to hearing what was really supposed to be there all along.
The midrange thing I still say there are times when I feel like the midrange is a little too ... underemphasized maybe? I just wish I had a little more precision with the EQ. As I mentioned above, the manual EQ options are more or less blunt force objects: "bass" and "treble."
The EQ and room correction modes so basically you have a couple options. (1) You can bypass the EQ for "direct path." (2) You can manually set the EQ (which is just high, low, sub-woofer crossover and level. And (3) you can use one of several EZset EQ options that involve hi/mid/lo settings based on the room correction reading. Personally I don't care for the choices the EZset EQ makes any of them. And it's hard for me to explain what it is I don't like about the direct path mode. Direct path just feels a little too raw and unrefined. Maybe that's the idea. I have found with my particular speaker/room set up that I prefer the manual mode with bass boosted +2, treble flat, and sub crossover at 90 kHz.
BLU-RAY! So as much as I'm a music enthusiast and that's primarily what my system is for, we also have our main TV/cable/blu-ray set up on it. The boys and I were watching "Super 8" on blu-ray. There's a big train wreck scene early on in the movie. We had it turned up pretty loud and HOLY MOTHER there are all these pieces of metal and stuff that go flying all over in the movie. I swear it sounded like they were landing on the floor in my living room. And with my Paradigm subwoofer boy you could really feel it. It was the most glorious movie sound I've ever heard! We had to rewind it and watch it again cuz it was so amazing. Explosion sounds can really test the limitations of a sound system. I have never heard such super clear, uncompressed explosions. Just rich sound that blossomed and trailed off so clearly. Ok, enough about that ... It was awesome!
It's a Keeper. When I bought it, because of my discount I figured if I didn't like it I could turn around and sell it without losing anything because it's a new model and all. No way man! I'm keeping it.

I purchased this item in October 2011 and connected it to my Pioneer multi-CD player and Phillips 4 ohm speakers via a digital cable. The sound is excellent. Also, I had to contact the manufacturer for help setting it up and found that HK customer service was superior.First time owning Harman Kardon product and i love it.The HK990 is amazing with its 150 watts of power but
seems to be more on hand what was specified.The bass
is incredible and midrange is sweet also the treble
is better than my M15hd.I hook my ATC SCM19 to this
amp and it is delicious despite my speakers screaming
for 300 watts the HK990 is more than capable of delivering
the power.
Great amp with a beautiful,almost neutral sound that
has captivated me and has made me a Harman Kardon fan.
Just remove the cheesy aluminum veneer on the bottom
section and replace it with real aluminum.It would be

I dont write many reviews, but im compelled to do this one since im so impressed with the HK990.I recently got into Hifi about 6 months ago. Like anything i do, i get a little obsessed. I went and bought an NAD 375bee amp for about 1300 dollars. It was ok but I It wasn't really satisfied. Sound was colored with warmth and crisp extended highs were missing. I was wanting something more so i went and bought a Roksan M2 amp (rated #1 amp for 2011 in the 2000 dollar range from whathifi reviews in England) It was very cold and didnt get any emotion out of the music at all. I hated it .
I then grew frustrated and decided to get a more expensive music fidelity M6i at 3000 dollars! ( had great reviews) It was amazing because it was my 1st dual mono amp. It was very punchy, smooth and eerily quiet, but still the sound was slightly dry and missing a little life. Highs weren't as extended as i hoped.

Now, After doing tons of research and reading a dozen rave! reviews , i went and bought a 6000 dollar NAD M2 digital amp. I immediately noticed that it had very weak bass and its highes were flat. Music had no body. Weird, since reviews were outstanding. This amp sucked. It was not musical in any way.! It was not even as good as the cheaper Nad 375bee.
I saw a couple of reviews on the HK990 that said the music was very CRISP and bass was tight and well extended. So after reading all the reviews and looking the amazing specs i once again convinced myseld the this Amp was the HOLY GRAIL. The first surprise was that when i get this amp delivered i can barely lift it. The package was over 60 lbs! This amp is a beast! Its larger than any of the amps ive previously owned. I guess bigger is better! I was having thoughts as i was lugging this thing that it will probably sound like the crap the peddle at best buy. like a pioneer or yamaha or denon, or marantz.
So i turn it on and run the amp for 12 hours to break it in ( as all class a/b amps sound very harsh out of he box ) After 12 hours i sat down and i was awestruck! The sound emanating was glorious and outclassed everything ive owned to date, Just to make sure i re-hooked up my NAD m2 and confirmed it was crap. My nephew agreed with me.
(on a side note i was told my someone else who has this
amp that it keeps getting better after 3 weeks of constant use. Mine is only 2 days old so far. I cant imagine it getting better )
So how do i describe the sound of this amp. ?
Super Silky mid range ( voices ) , Crisp and extended highs. Super tight bass. I found myself going through my CD collection and listening to songs i rarely listen to. Audio NIRVANA!
My source is an OPPO BD-95 CD player, and an ONKYO ND-1 ipod transport using my iphone 4s with lossless music files (best transport ive heard by far). The onkyo transport hooks up to HK with a toslink or coaxial to straight the back of the amp. Make sure you use good cables and wires. They do make a difference. Audioquest makes good speaker cables and interconnects. I would uses nothing less than Audioquest type 4 speaker cable and a transparent brand toslink cable. The stock cheap RCA's this amp comes with are a joke and really dont let the HK990 perform in any way. (DO NOT USE THESE CHEAP CABLES).
I hope this review saves new and upcoming audiophiles lots of money and time. ;-)

Bought this amp for about a year now. This amp is used to play CD (and SACD) by a Sony SACD player (scd-xa5400es), driving a pair of Gallo Ref 3.5.Typical of a dual-mono amp, which has two transformers (one for channel), the sound is very smooth. The power is more than adequate, and the details are also great. This amp helps elminating the hardware from the sound, so you can concentrate on the material (usually music, but sometimes video also) being played, rather than thinking about if how good or bad the sound is.
This is what I mean by disappearing in the music.
Pro:
1 Smooth and clean sound.
2 More adequate power.
3 Crystal clear, transparent sound.
4 Very cool and designer look.
Con:
1 Lacking the sense of 'Air' compared with playback from vacuum-tube gear.
2 Forget about the built-in auto equalisation function, the software marginal.
3 Not the quietest amp. Harmon should have shielded the transformers.
4 The US price is much higher than that in the UK.
5 The sound could have been better (and better pricing, too) if some of the extra functiionality (but useless) is omitted, eg the auto equalisation.
6 Owner's handbook useless.
Not the ultimate audiophile amp, or the cheapest. But if you are a music lover and just want your stereo to play your music faithfully and stay out of the way of the music, this is the amp to get.

The LED display! This thing barely has any contrast, so you really can't see it well at night. Also, even at the dim setting, it is like a flashlight. Instead of using a nice LED display with simple brightness settings, you get this indistinct display that lights up your whole room.
Teac, please put an LED display on this thing. The styling is great. The button placement is fine. As is, unless you wear a night mask, I really can't recommend this clock radio.

This radio has some very nice features to its credit---size, digital tuning, battery operation for portability,MP3 input,decent sound quality from the speaker, but the AM reception was horrible and the FM was not much better,even with the antenne. If your just interested in close local stations its fine. I purchase this mainly because of the portable use with the built in battery.After a week the battery would not hold a charge, I call customer service, and the tech told me the batteries were only meant to last a year????? One feature not noted is...... when you hit snooze; it displays the word SNOOZE on the display until you turn the alarm off. This is nice for heavy sleepers like me. I like knowing that I did not accidentally turn off the alarm altogether by hitting the wrong button. If I awake in a panic after hitting snooze once or twice thinking I turned my alarm off in a stupor, I feel at peace when I see the word SNOOZE on the display.TAEC makes great, solid, quality stuff (no, I do not work for TEAC). This unit is heavy, classy and sharp. It has a big snooze button that is easy to find, an adjustable wake volume that can be different than the last volume used, 10 pre-sets and the button to turn the alarm off is one of the back buttons, so it would very hard to accidentally turn it off. The display is dim enough not to bother me. It starts bright, and then dims to a soft blue.
It is super easy to program and the sound is very good too. It has bass and treble control so you can customize the sound a little. The rechargeable battery gives me piece of mind too. I know it will go off in the event of a power failure. I tried my iPod using the included AUX plug and it worked and sounded OK. I did not expect it to sound great, so am satisfied.
This is one hot looking clock and the features are well thought out, from the placement of the snooze and re-set buttons, the snooze display, the adjustable volume, rechargeable battery and programming. Perfect for what it is.

They are wonderful! I bought an extra one for my living room!In case you haven't seen the photos, these are the units with the handle on the left side of the unit (from the front) with a round blue display on the right side of the face. They have a single speaker but the sound quality is superb. You can get a powerful sound out of them. I don't have any issues with the "click" settings for the volume for me the change is gradual enough that I get the volume level I want. They really are solid pieces metal cases with a powder-coat finish and solid rubber feet just a very quality look and feel to them. They can be set for two separate alarms, and you can hook up an MP3 player, etc up to them for playback. The cord for this is included but is only about 6". I'd say radio reception is average the same as I get from my other radios, and fine for me. I'm going to also use the second unit as an auxiliary speaker for my laptop. AND they have a built-in backup battery unit that is always charged up when it's plugged in. You can completely disengage the cord and use it as a portable radio out on the deck! One thing-if you need it really dark for sleeping you may not like these the display is a pretty blue but gives off enough light that you don't want it facing you it's pretty much a night light. The settings are straightforward but you do need to follow the instruction manual.
I checked them out at other vendors and they "list" for $169. They actually are even cheaper now than when I bought them just under $50 from North Star Electronics through Amazon as of 01-23-2006. Good morning I'm from Peru and made the effort to buy a car stereo Naxa Model 697 and what I got was a car radio 675 Naxa model is more basic, after making every effort to bring it to Peru I noticed with surprise that it was not the model had asked. However I have a few issues with the clock. The clock runs off of 1 AA battery and is not lit. The sleep function is fixed at 20 minutes. I took mine apart and lit the clock with a white LED (not an easy job) but I like it much better now. I am now thinking about modifying the sleep timer. I would like it a few minutes longer or adjustable. And if your wondering, yes I'm an engineer.

This is a nice little clock radio, but too expensive for what you get. Other reviews have compared it to a Tivoli Model One, but they are light years apart. If you want a good looking radio that sounds ok, get this one. If you're just looking for a radio, get a Tivoli for just a bit more. Tivoli also do a clock radio, but they cost a fair bit more than the Crosley. Not having a backlight for the clock is disappointing and frustrating in the middle of the night. My old clock radio died and I purchased the Crosley Duet clock radio. I live in a low lying area where the radio reception is poor but the Crosley picks up stations with no problem. This clock radio has a great sound and a great design. I love the fact that I can connect my iPhone (or anything with a headphone jack) to it. I bought this radio at BJ's and figured out how to connect it to my mp3 player with the cord that comes with the radio. I love it since it acts as a mp3 speaker, basically. The sound is great.However, I cannot get the alarm or clock to work. You're supposed to just plug it in and the clock sets itself. Well, it doesn't. So, if you can't set the clock you very well can't set the alarm either.
I do love the look and came here to buy another one, but was shocked to find how expensive they are.

I had wanted to get a Sansa, but could not understand why players purchased in the USA have no Asian language support, but if you buy a Sansa in say Hong Kong then you can buy it with Asian language support. They also refuse to provide that option through firmware upgrade. The T10 automatically displayed correctly the song names in my music library that were in Chinese.
Pros:
Great music quality great, and even better battery life (3 day car trip without recharging). The player is stylish, small, and very lightweight.
Many ways to sync using included software, Windows Media Player, or drag and drop from Explorer.
Cons:
No easy way to manage playlists. If you create playlists in the included software, all songs in the playlist are transferred to the same folder. Say you created 3 folders in the T10 to manage music, and a song happens to be in 2 playlists -> this song would be copied twice to the 2 folders. Of course, this eats up memory fast. Why use folders? Because I like to organize my music, and also to avoid filename conflicts from older CD's which have ripped songs with filenames like 'track 1', etc.
Another feature that would be nice is to be able to play all songs in a genre or master folder, instead of having to drill down to the album and only playing that album. For a long car trip, I would prefer that the T10 plays multiple albums without need of user intervention.
Miss the feature in iTunes where I could set up sync profiles to sync different set of songs to the iPOD depending on what portion of my library I wanted to take.
Recommendation:
Definitely a good player worth buying.

Other reviews (including a great review by Mariofrancis1 on youtube.com) have provided very useful information on this player. The elements on which I found it more difficult to find information were the voice audio elements of players. So, after testing the T10, here's how it performs on that score:(i) fm radio T10 finds stations automatically or manually with ease, but the autosearch is not as quick as that of the Zune. Many stations are crystal clear, but others are a little scratchy. Another player with fm radio is Sony, whose player also works well.
(ii) podcasts No problems here. These can be set up via subscription so that the latest podcasts are downloaded automatically as soon as the player is connected to the laptop at lightning speed deleting the earlier casts, but not other files. The number of downloads per podcast can be individualized for each podcast for the last 2, 5, 10 (etc) feeds.
(iii) Playback of secure/protected WMA I considered this element essential so that I could borrow free eAudiobooks from my local library (via Netlibrary) rather than pay to download them from commercial websites. Here the T10 performed well, although you do have to route your downloaded eAudiobook through Windows Media Player before transferring it to the T10. If you don't, the files remain locked and cannot be transferred to the player. The T10 also has a bookmarking function (not available on all WMA-compatible players), which means you can bookmark your Audiobook, go off to play some music and come back to the exact place on your Audiobook where you left off.
(iv) Long battery life at 30-35 hours playback time, it should survive most intercontinental plane trips.
PS Note regarding netlibrary compatibility: iPod and Zune do not support the protected WMA. Sony sales reps (online and phone) provide conflicting advice re their A818 on this score. See this link for more on WMAand bookmarking-compatible devices and how to use netlibrary.

I have owned almost 10 iPods, and afterall, they are iPods; you really can't beat them in terms of their user-interface, design and ease of use. On top of that, I barely have any complaint over the iPhone, it's the Jesus phone, for Christ's sake! (pun intended)But then on my recent trip to HK, I picked up a Samsung T10 to hold some new music that I have ripped from my old CD collection. Because if you sync your iPhone with another computer, all the songs residing on the iPhone will be erased, so basically I just couldn't add new music to my iPhone and I wanted to get a budget MP3 player.
Anyway, I was overwhelmed by the features and qualities of the T10, besides the so so UI (Apple is better on this). First of all, the sound quality blows, really blows. The clarity is so much better than all the iPods I have ever owned. That said, I am using the same crappy Apple headphones. The bass is deep and vibrant. The T10 has an FM radio with auto presets, voice recording, Bluetooth connection to my BT stereo headphones which enables me to listen to music wirelessly. The best of all, is that you can record FM radio broadcast and the T10 instantly turns it into an MP3.
I am so giving up listening to my music on the iPods/iPhone for this little wonder.

Unlike the Sansa piece of junk we bought in October, this Samsung mp3 player is a solid item, with many more capabilities, and built-in durability.The unit also has the added advantage of being Linux compatible, as it recognizes all unix-based sound codecs.
For a 4 gigabyte unit, with a one-year manufacturer warranty (not only 90 days), turn to this fine Samsung unit.
We did, and I only wish we'd saved ourselves the aggravation, and bought the Samsung model the first time.
I've just had "Sammy" a couple of days but I'm hooked. I purchased it solely for music but may play with some of the other features eventually.
It's not quite perfect:
* I haven't yet found a case for it (but a small $10 Case Logic case for a digital camera works fine for now);
* FM radio is a bit scratchy but I can live with it;
* There's a lanyard strap hole but no lanyard (what would it cost them? 4 cents?);
* It will only charge via the proprietary USB cable (but I'm not likely to spend 30 hours in the woods with it so it's no problem to recharge it).
But darn close:
* Great design, seemingly sturdy, fun to just poke and discover all the features;
* Intuitive I'm no gear head and this is my first mp3 player but I managed to organize and load songs without consulting the online manual;
* Easy navigation folks complained that the screen on the T9 was too sensitive but I haven't had any problems with the T10 and find it easy to move around the menus;
* Great sound, includes both preset and custom EQ settings. I don't care for ear buds but several different headphones sound sweet;
* The sample videos that it came with look great;
* Nice price.
It's exactly what I wanted and more. Very much recommended.

The directions for the On Stage Micro III are brief and clear, and I was able to set the speaker up in just a few minutes. You can use either battery or electrical power for the speaker; I tried it both ways without any problems. There are two small, curved, rubber inserts that you use to ensure the correct fit for your iPhone or iPod. I had to play with these a bit to find the right insert and get it positioned properly, but for someone more mechanically inclined, I don't think it would present any challenges.
Once set up, the JBL On Stage Micro III Portable Loudspeaker offers very good quality music, especially for the size and price. It is the perfect device for a home office (where I will use mine), a bed / dorm room, and will make a great Christmas gift.
I was also pleased with the packaging of the JBL Loudspeaker. Most of the plastic bags have a recycle symbol of 4, which I can recycle at the local supermarket. The speaker is nested in formed cardboard, which I can easily recycle, instead of Styrofoam. It is nice to see JBL working on reducing excessive packaging.

I have an Ipod Nano 6th generation and I wanted a small docking station for my desk at work so I bought the JBL On Stage Micro III. It is very stylish, sleek and small. Just what I had hoped for. However the first time I put my Ipod on it, it froze my Ipod up within minutes. I called JBL support and asked if this docking station was compatible with the Apple Ipod 6th generation. I was told they have not tested their product with the 6th generation Ipod. They suggested I call Amazon.com and tell them my Ipod was froze up. What kind of tech support is that??? Instead I called apple and they were able to reset my Ipod. I called JBL again just to see if maybe I could get someone who knew what they were talking about. Again I was told this JBL product has not been tested with the 6th generation Ipod. I asked them if the newer JBL version (the JBL On Stage IV) had been tested with the newest version of the Ipod. They said they did not know. So buyers beware of this product. And don't expect any tech support on it from JBL. Also some of the functions on the remote control work, but several do not. This product says it is compatible with all Ipod versions, but clearly it is not. The sound is good, but Logitech has a better sounding unit for not much more money. Here's my take on it.Battery operated and weighing less than a pound, the JBL On Stage Micro III can go virtually anywhere. The unit has rear-port supported audio in and audio out. One advantage is that by using just two of the same-sized drivers, the Micro III uses less power and requires four AA batteries. The unit comes with a wall adapter, ten-button remote control, and one dock adapter with rubber sizing pads for different devices. You will have to supply your own audio cables. One nice feature: a crystalline plastic dock at the top of each unit that glows with white LED light when the power is on. I cannot attest to the veracity of how well JBL stands up to the competition, not having tried any other loudspeaker, however, other reviewers have said the Micro III is a bit of a lightweight in the power department, particularly with bass tones.
Set-up was super easy and sound is good, if not as rich and full as I might have liked, it certainly fills my kitchen, breakfast room and office with vibrant sound without turning the volume way up. I like both the size and portability; you can use it at home or take it with you and it offers 16 hours play with four fresh double A batteries. It's both attractive and functional.
