Sometimes you get what you pay for. In the case of this radio you don't. $5.00 would have been more like it. The AM radio station I wanted to listen to 55 miles away would fade in and out while walking. I usually had to keep the radio in my hand and constantly adjust it. The ear buds are as cheap as they get. Sound quality is poor even for AM. At maximum volume you won't cause any ear damage. Plugging in my high quality Sony ear buds improved it significantly. My main reason for purchasing it was to use during my lunch hour while walking and listening to talk radio. The day I brought it to work the digital display was all messed up. Parts of the digital numbers were missing. It was unreadable. A day later is was ok again. Then several days later the top half of the numbers were missing. That was it, I returned it to Amazon and got my money back. This radio looked promising and after reading the 5 star reviews I thought I had a winner. It looks nice and is small and portable. But the electronics are bare bones basic.

I remember when RCA was a respected brand, no more. The radio broke soon afer I got it, had to toss it. When tuning, it was very cumbersome. if you selected only 3 fav channels, you had to cycle thru all(20 if I remember)
