I got this device mainly for the emulation purposes but was very surprised to see that it hosted a wide variety of other functions as well including a photo viewer, a radio broadcaster, music/video player and even a flash player, although only up to flash version 6 if I understand correctly. This is definitely not a gadget for the technologically impaired however as it does require a bit of technical know-how in order to get the full functionality out of the item. The biggest problem I found is sometimes the system doesn't pick up the rom files you put into it because it's looking for particular formats. Sega genesis in particular were bad. There is a dirty little trick to get this to work though. All you have to do is rename the files that aren't showing up with the correct extension and they run. (the extension is .smd) Other than that it works pretty well, the sound is a bit lacking coming out of the speakers the volume can get tricky as well as most of the controls for this are in the applications themselves not on the system. However, the system has a site dedicated to creating new software for the little gadget located here. . It has a few minor flaws such as the menu is written in engrish, and some of the 16 bit games get a little jumpy but overall a great product and well worth the money

I researched this little gizmo for months and debated about weather or not I should actually get it. My girlfriend ended up buying it for me for Christmas this year. Reviews online were mixed, but generally positive, so I am glad I did get it.This little device will play just about any game you throw at it. Yes there are some games that won't run properly, but there are enough that do to make up for that.
The Gameboy Advance emulator is by far the best of the stock emu's that come on this device. NES runs good, SNES needs to be tweaked from game to game (frame skip), and the Genesis games all work great....if you can find the right file extensions for the Sega games.
The greatest part about this device is its "openness" Meaning, there are plenty of developers out there that have created/ported additional emulators for this item. Google is your friend when it comes to finding additional goodies for this device.
P.S. You do not need to install Dingux in order to get full enjoyment from this item. It works just fine with the OS that it comes with.I purchased this product for my son, who is an avid gamer. This is his review:
The software seems to have been hastily written by hackers with no UI experience. It's not something for everybody, as it requires a degree of research, patience and nerding out to get things working. It isn't perfect, but it is what I thought it would be, and I am enjoying it!

I really enjoy this emulator. The D-Pad is great, buttons work well and the interface is generally easy to use. My only problems that occurred with this item is the internal battery for some games (the thing that allows the game to fully function, clockbased events and battery save files also known as .sav). Don't let that confuse you with the battery on the emulator. I can play for 6 hours a day for 5 days and the battery is still over half full, which is a HUGE bonus. But you may need to run gba games through a patch to allow in-game saves. For some of you that may not be an issue, but for pokemon, clock based events (growing berries for example) don't work. Save states are fine, except when you beat the elite four and it there's an error while trying to save (it freaks out and thinks the file is deleted after you reset). Just make sure to patch the game and save state before the elite four and delete the .sav file for your pokemon game in the browser on the device before you actually beat the elite four. A little bit of work but afterwards everything works fine. And i didn't get a silicone case.....

We recently remodeled our kitchen and I replaced our 15-year old kitchen radio with this--I like being able to cook while watching Netflix. We just purchased a small RV and I'm thinking about getting one for the RV as well. It was easy to install and I like that it charges the Ipad if it is plugged in. The speakers are OK, not Bose sound, but not too bad either. Overall the quality and functionality are OK--so, my feeling is that it is a reasonable value for the price. 4 stars, not 5 and not 3.
You can control player functions through the remote control or the panel keypad very well, so the interfase connector is well managed.
Also the audio power and sound quality you get is better than many iphone/ipad player docks in the market.Like others who have commented, I like the convenience and am able to watch Netflix, follow my recipes, play games with my kids, listen to music etc. Fits fine under my cabinet and is easy to use. I think it is a good value in the $50 $60 price range.
It swivels and folds away. My ipad slides in and out easily and seems very secure. I also like the fact that it has a charging cord, which some other brands don't, however, it IS clumsy to connect and disconnect. Even so, I would recommend it.
Other than that one complaint, I'm satisfied with this product.I got this for my sister for Christmas and I'm jealous! I should have gotten one as well! It holds your iPad or iPhone securely so you can watch cooking videos or listen to music while you cook. I'm tempted to get one for myself!We like this unit and it was the best option and best price we could find.

Not so good Docking a little awkward. Mounting screws too long and needed replacing to mount suggestion for company; use bolt system from inside cabinet which can be recessed and more secure.

Yes, they are double AA batteries but the package (standard Energizer 10-pack) was completely open and was held together by a rubber band. These are probably not new but how can you tell. I'll count this up as a $6 lesson not to buy from these guys.FYI: I did buy some lithium batteries from another source and they were exactly as expected (new and in their original package) so not everyone does business this way.

The batteries work without a problem. BUT they arrived in WORN packaging that was OPENED (i.e. the packaging wasn't just accidentally opened, but looked old and was all crinkly). I use these in a TENS unit "a electrical pain stimulator for pain management". They work very well. Lasts longer than any other 9v I have Found. I have to use these for whole days at a time and the high capacity really helps with how many times I have to change the battery and can carry less of them with me. I have been using them for months and they seem the same as when I 1st got them. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs a good long lasting 9v.

1. After pairing the bridge to my schlage lock and lamp module, I went online to register. Before you can do ANYTHING, before you can even test that the box is working, you must give them a credit card which they charge up front and enroll you in a monthly subscription. You can't do anything without paying them monthly, and there's no trial period or anything to see that the device works before you enroll. And they told me on the phone this subscription enrollment is non-refundable even if the device doesn't work and I return it to Amazon. So, the bottom line is, I had to start paying them up front just to find out that the product is totally broken.
2. When you try to pay them, the web browser (firefox) gives warnings that Schlage's online security certificate is not properly setup. The only way to proceed is to click "exceptions", even though Firefox warns you that you should never do this and no legitimate company will ask you to. Screen shot attached. If Schlage doesn't even have the technical skills to secure their online credit card page and keep my credit card safe, something every mom and pop etailer can do, how on earth do they expect me to trust that their lock entry system is safe? Clearly they don't trust themselves since, the first step of the online process, requires you to accept terms and conditions that waive any responsibility on their part, even if they are negligent.
3. During the setup I chose to have them send the cell phone app to my Blackberry. The cell phone app, also, does not have a security certificate and the Blackberry warns you that it's unsigned and untrusted.
4. Right now, you cannot use the Schlage link with ANY cameras or thermostats or sensors or scene controllers or handheld remotes or any of the other hundreds of ZWaves devices out there, except basic lamp modules. Schlage confirmed this when I called their support line. They said that in a few months they will sell a Schlage brand camera and it will work with their camera, but not with 3rd party IP cameras. So my Panasonic IP cameras will not work at all and I have to buy all new Schlage cameras; which, btw, don't appear to have pan/tilt/audio and other stuff like the Panasonic.
5. At this point I've resigned that this bridge will, basically, just allow me to control the Schlage lock, and for everything else I will need another gateway. But, wait, it gets worse. The web interface at Schlage's site says my bridge is disconnected. But that's wrong. It ---IS--connected. And I can login to my dhcp server and see that it's getting an IP. So it is plugged in and working. There is NOTHING in Schlage's documentation to explain this. The green light on the bridge is blinking 3 times. But there is nothing to indicate if this is normal, or an error. So I call Schlage's customer support line. I get bounced around between low level operators who know nothing more than to read trouble shooting guides. They ask stupid questions that prove they don't know what they're talking about. They ask me to try removing/reinserting the ethernet cable. At this point the bridge locks up; all the lights stop working. We need to remove the battery to get it working again. Then we need to exclude and pair again the lock and lamp module. Still nothing. They tell me to get a longer ethernet cable (mine is 6') so I can move the Schlage bridge further from my network router. Huh??? It's not a wi-fi device, it's hardwired. What's that about? They can't give me a technical explanation, just saying it's on their trouble shooting guide that the Schlage should not be too close to the router. After an hour on the phone, they say that an engineer will need to look into it and get back to me. They can't give me a timetable. And they don't have any answer about getting back the money they charged me up front for their subscription.
Bottom line: the lock works as a lock. You can lock/unlock it with a key and with the pin pad. But the bridge is a joke. It doesn't work at all. And it's impossible to troubleshoot because, although the bridge gets an IP address, it doesn't run a web server or telnet or anything else to let you log into the bridge itself and see what's wrong. All you can do is login through schlage.com and see that "the bridge is disconnected". Therefore, without a way to talk to the bridge locally on my network, and with the bridge unable to connect to schalge's online service, I seriously doubt they'll ever be able to get it working and imagine it's just a black brick. After all, if the Schlage bridge is too buggy to get a network connection and find the Schlage server, how will it ever upgrade, since there's no way for me to talk to it over my local network.
The part that pisses me off the most is that I had to pay up front for their stupid subscription just to find out this thing doesn't work and can't get my money back! So watch out!

I received the starter kit and had the whole thing up and running successfully within an hour. If you're somewhat tech savy and good with a computer the installation should be pretty painless. I have to say, I'm fairly impressed at how well it works and that I haven't run into any real problems yet BUT beware, the deadbolts are NOT motorized. Perhaps I misread, or was mislead but I am a bit upset that the only functions you gain with the lock is knowing whether its locked or unlocked and temporarily engaging it to be opened. So, just know it will not unlock itself if you send the signal, rather someone has to be there to turn it and you have to co-ordinate this with them(which to me makes it someone less useful). That being said, being able to assign and manage separate codes online, get alerts based on who is coming and going, and control lights makes the overall experience worth it and the value pretty spot on. My last issue(which is why I give it 4 starts) is that there is a major lack of compatible devices at present and that makes the $13 charge for the SchlageLink subscription weak. I was getting ready to buy this thing when I read that you cannot actually lock or unlock the deadbolt remotely because the thing is not motorized. The only thing you can do is monitor whether it's locked or not, and also send a signal so someone can get in. Why pay $13 a month (not to mention about $250 for the product) when the only thing you can do is MONITOR the thing. Schlage's interface requires you pay 100.00 annually to access even the most basic functions. The interface is not even accessible from a home network without intent access.User codes entered manually in the lock transfer to the online web page without any way to distinguish what they are.
There is no way to add or remove users from the GUI without setting it up online and paying the fee. The interface is primitive at best and far from intuitive.
As a Schlage loyalist I will consider replacing all of my locks with another brand, because they would rather force people into their revenue stream rather than give them choice and options.

I have a house and cabin that I am installing some home security/automation in. I have found the Schlage Link system to be the best in the market but they are too spendy. I am now using a Vera2 at my cabin by Mi Casa Verde. With the Vera2 I'm able to setup lights and my Train home thermostat to be remotely managed by my phone or a web browser with NO subscription fees!Schlage Link $9/Month really isn't worth the cost for the extra items that you get. Some of the items that I like about the Schlage Link is the fact that you can monitor the usage of your heating or cooling over time and you can also schedule codes on the front door lock. Other than that I'm not impressed with them. I asked if I could add another Schlage Link Bridge for my cabin with no additional monthly cost or at least with a discount but they were not willing do either. So It would cost me $18/month to monitor my cabin and home which is way to costly. Not to mention the fact that they only sell the Schlage Link bridge as a package with other products. They don't communicate that hardly at all unless you call them which doesn't impress me much.
If you don't have any problems with the service fees, I will say that the product is pretty solid and works as expected.
The only other problem that I have is the android app to control the system. It seems like a web page almost. I feel that they could improve the application to be more of an application that is quicker then just a regular web page.

It really is hard to believe that the sound is coming from this small radio.. it fills the room and doesn't sound harsh or boomy. On the back are input stereo jacks so that you can play back music from a CD player, tape deck, portable cassette or MP3 player, etc. I hooked up a small Sandisk Sansa MP3 player through the Wave radio and it was pretty amazing, sounded like a full size stereo system. The other thing I really liked is how easy it is to set, change, enable or disable the alarm, you don't have to get the manual out to figure out how to do it. There are two available, I set one for week days and used the other one for weekends when I didn't want to get up as early. You can set it to music, a buzzer, or both and the music gradually comes up in volume from any preset radio station you choose. There are 6 presets available and they are really easy to store; again, this radio is user friendly. Hit the snooze button if you aren't ready to get up, it's larger and easy to find in the dark. That reminds me.. the radio automatically dims the display when the room lights go out so that the display doesn't bother you trying to sleep. Even if the power goes out, the alarm will still go off from the battery back up, which also stores other settings like the time, stations, etc. The remote is small, clean, easy to use with a single surface.. no protruding buttons that can get dirt in them and it works great too. Everything about this radio was thought out and done right and it looks good too. Okay, I had to eat a bit of crow about this little wave radio but it was worth it! My spouse had been saying he wanted this Bose wave radio for ages but frankly, I just couldn't understand why a radio needed to cost so much especially since it doesn't have anything else included. No CD, no nothing.Well, not only has this stood the test of time but it's remained a household favorite. The fact that is doesn't contain a CD means it hasn't become obsolete like most other electronics. The plugs on the back allow it to be expanded and remain versatile and flexible despite the age/years. The sound is friggin AWESOME. The footprint is small and keeps us both happy...no bulky boxes sitting around, no tangled mess of wires everywhere...just a small little box with a really big sound.
It's simple to use, versatile, flexible and really a top quality item. Sometimes less really is more and this is the perfect example of that adage in action!

My Bose Wave radio is about seventeen years old; we've used it every single day. The radio is amazingly simple to use, the buttons are intuitive. The sound is very warm, rich, and somewhat un-Bose-like in that the highs aren't overboosted. The sound fills the room with very little stereo effect (the speakers are very close so there would be very little imaging). There are no treble or bass controls; Bose seems to know better than the user about tone control. This is a very high end clock radio, not an audiophile piece of gear. The tuner works reasonably well two external antennas are required for AM and FM reception). For me, the sound has never disappointed. The clock automatically dims depending on the room light, a very nice feature. My biggest disappointment with this radio was its high original price, but seventeen years of sound is pretty darn good in the long run.This particular clock radio has really simple inputs it predates the iPod world. The Auxiliary in is two RCA jacks (the red and white jacks on stereo receivers); it is not line level in, but headphone level in. The trick with these inputs is to use a mini-jack to RCA adapter (like this one: Cables To Go 03180 6ft 3.5mm Stereo Male to RCA Male Y-Cable), they are inexpensive and work very well.
For the first sixteen years, all was bliss with this radio. Now in its seventeenth year, the unit needs a bit of work. Turns out Bose made a strange design decision. Instead of turning the power to the tuner and amplifier off, they simply used a circuit to mute the volume. That means the amplifier and tuner have actually run turned on for almost seventeen years. When components are left on for this long, bad things can happen or weak components show up in Bose's case, the capacitors in this unit will leak. Once that problem starts, things go very wrong from no sound, to humming, to snapping during volume change.
There are three options with this radio: Send it off to the recycler and purchase a brand new clock radio (iHome makes some very nice units). Pay to have somebody else repair it (there are several companies that will repair any problem with a Bose component for a flat fee myboserepair is one of those companies). Or try to repair this yourself. The cool part of the DIY attempt there's nothing to lose and everything to gain. There are a lot of capacitors in this unit, something like over fifty. They are all easy to get at, and none are so big that you risk a shock from stored electricity. The parts are around ten dollars and fairly easy to buy. YouTube has some great videos on how to replace capacitors and there are a couple of excellent videos on how to open up these radios.
If the unit has been refurbished, it is highly likely they replaced all the capacitors, and the voltage regulator the most common problems in this radio. If the work was done properly, the radio will work for another fifteen years. If the radio should stop working, it is not very hard to fix with a soldering iron, some capacitors, and a little bit of time.

I purchased this item from Amazon, not another merchant. It came in a box labeled RCA, not AudioVox, although the model number was the same.The clock has a cheap, plasticky feel. The controls are fairly easy to use. However, the alarm buzzer volume is quite low. It would never wake me, or most other people, I suspect.
The radio is difficult to tune because it has neither a bar indicating the station numbers nor digital tuning. Reception is poor. I don't think I could rely on the radio to wake me either.
As an alarm clock, it is not acceptable. As a radio, it is quite poor. I returned it.

I have been using this clock radio for almost 3 years, and I really like it. It has a readable display which is not too bright, nice loud dual alarms which are easy to set, and a nap button which allows you to sleep for 10 minutes to 2 hours without changing your regular alarm settings. I love this nap feature, but it is also the source of the one flaw: once you set the nap button, there is no way to turn it off. (You can change the length of the nap to a minimum of 10 minutes, but that's it.) More than once, I have hit this button by accident when I meant to turn the alarm off, and it's annoying to have to wait 10 minutes for the nap alarm to sound so I can shut it off.Other than this one quibble, it's an excellent clock for a very reasonable price.

I purchased this item to replace my older RCA clock radio that had the same features. I briefly tested the new clock when it first arrived and then set it aside. Today my old clock finally pooped out and I installed this one. I quickly realized that my brief testing was inadequate. First the sound quality of the radio is inferior to all the clock radios I have had previously. The sound is muffled with high distortion that makes speech a struggle to understand. For old-timers think back to the days of the early transistor radios with an old battery installed. Secondly and more importantly the graduated alarm is a joke. It never gets very loud at all. Its maximum level is about the level my older RCA clock radio reached in about 15 seconds. Fortunately I am a very light sleeper most of the time but I can't trust this one to wake me if I am in any kind of a deep sleep. This radio may be defective but I suspect it is just shabby in design.
