Teac Hi-Fi Speaker System with iPod/iPhone Dock

Teac Hi-Fi Speaker System with iPod/iPhone Dock
  • Teac Micro Hi-Fi System
  • Docking Station for iPod/iPhone
  • Includes Remote Control
  • Bass Reflex Type 2 Way Stereo Speakers
  • Music CD and MP3 Disc Playable

Pros:

* Generally good sound for a unit of this price. Bass is solid and treble is crisp. Low distortion.

* Excellent FM and decent AM reception. CDs play fine.

* Good iPod/iPhone functionality with built-in and third-party audio apps like Pandora. Charges iPhones (tested 3GS, 4, 4S).

* Decent remote functions.

* Reasonably good clock and alarm functions.

Cons:

* Remote is really finicky about the angle you are coming from. System often doesn't notice attempts to control it unless remote is in a direct straight line in front of it, at least as high as the unit itself.

* Clock display is difficult to see when unit is turned off. No backlighting unless it's on. This makes it useless as a clock radio unless you never want to know what time it is at night.

* Not a lot of control over the sound settings.

* You can set and recall radio stations, but it's klunky and unintuitive. There are no quick station buttons.

* System memory does not survive a power outage and there is no battery backup. Reverts to factory settings upon power disconnect. In my area, this means that, on average, once a month everything has to be set up all over again. I often come home and need to reset the clock and at least retune to my favorite radio station. If it is playing when the power goes out, it will not automatically start again once the power returns. If I'd known this flaw when I was choosing a system, I'd never have purchased it. The other cons are just nuisances, but the inability of this unit to remember anything is a deal-killer. Bad TEAC.

I bought two of these for Christmas gifts for my kiddos, knowing that Santa would bring headphones. I was quite dismayed, upon opening the boxes, to find no headphone jack, rendering the beloved new (and costly!) headphones completely useless. My kids prefer the headphones to the stereo itself, so only three days past Christmas, have virtually abandoned the stereos in favor of devices on which their headphones can be used.

The sound quality is good, in my opinion. This is their first stereo, and they are in my kids' rooms, so I can't say much about the problems addressed in the other review regarding the remote. I will say that having to reset the settings after every power outage will be quite annoying.

The picture shows the speakers pushed next to the main unit, but they don't attach, they just rest next to it. It looks doofy with the speakers spread out. The remote is much larger than expected. The overall appearance is nice.

This is, in my opinion, exactly what you paid for; a middle-ground system with fairly decent sound quality, but has a few missing elements which would greatly improve my happiness quotient.

I bought this stereo system right around June of 2012, after reading some positive reviews for this product on Walmart.com big mistake. I should have read into it a bit more to fully understand the pros and cons. If you are considering this product, PLEASE read this review first!!!

Pros -

* Decent quality sound for an O.K. price

* Multiple features Am & Fm radio options(surprisingly not all stereos have this option,) cd player, auxiliary input jack, and ipod/iphone dock (I do not have either of these devices to test its functionality here, but my friend's did not work, though his was a bit messed up, so I'm not really sure.)

* One year limited warranty not to be expected from a cheap stereo like this, although I've never tried to hassle with their customer service, so I don't know how difficult warranty problems are to resolve.

* 20 Station Am/Fm memory bank you can actually have a total of 40 different stations, as there are separate memory banks for both Am & Fm listening options

* Looks O.K.

Cons -

* Am & Fm settings are separate, thus, you cannot browse between Am & Fm stations simultaneously.

* Although there is a "Dimmer" button, it does not actually allow you to adjust the brightness on the display I am constantly frustrated with this feature, even after 6 months of owning this product. The light is EXCRUCIATINGLY BRIGHT in the dark...

* As stated in the previous reviews, it is horrible with power outages even my 8 year old GPX projection alarm clock is better with outages.

* The "repeat" function for the cd player is not great it will cut off if it has been left on repeat for several hours. When you have a migraine headache, and your white noise maker cuts off, it is not very fun.

* You cannot listen to "shuffle and repeat settings at the same time with cds.

* Often makes sharp electronic noises when switching auxiliary sources(only in auxiliary mode though.)

* Sound sometimes fluxes when flipping the light switch (I tried different outlets, and even different rooms, but still the same results)

* Sound sometimes difficult to balance mids & bass

* Certain Am stations sound dreadfully muffled.

All-in-all, if you're looking for a good stereo, that will last you a while, I would suggest you save up a bit longer to up the budget just a bit. Buy something of higher quality, and that will hopefully last a little longer, but if the information I have provided does not make you have second thoughts of considering this product, this should be good for you.

I hope you have found my review helpful.

I wish you the best in your shopping, and may God bless you,

leaves a lot to be desired...the remote buttons remain depressed, do not pop up again due to thin material. When laying in bed the screen cannot be read due to the angle. Unless the remote is pointed perfectly at the right spot the unit does not react. It will cost $20 to replace the remote and the system is almost useless without it.

THL V11 3G Android 4.0 Smartphone with 4.0-inch Capacitive Touchscreen and Dual SIM Network Standby

THL V11 3G Android 4.0 Smartphone with 4.0-inch Capacitive Touchscreen and Dual SIM Network Standby /GPS/Bluetooth(White)Quality packaging and components. Have been using it for a month, and like it. Product and components were top quality. Only negative is that here in the USA, this thing hasn't been sold, so finding a after market case without going online is impossible, though it has been fun to hand it to the various cell accessory kiosks and watching their puzzled faces. . .

I'M NOT SURE WHY SELLERS DO NOT INCLUDE THE BATTERY'S TALK TIME IN THEIR LISTINGS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG DOES THIS BATTERY LAST WITH REGULAR/FULL USE (OR HAVE A TABLE CONVERSION FOR HOW LONG A TYPICAL LITHIUM BATTERY LAST ACCORDING TO BATTERY'S mAH)?

LG Viper 4G Android Phone (Sprint)

LG Viper 4G Android PhoneI just got this phone for my wife. I of course set it up and played with it until she ripped it away from my finger tips! I have to say... for a free phone the LG VIPER is just awesome!

As much as I like it you have to keep things in perspective... this IS NOT meant to compete with the super phones like the EVO 4G LTE or the Samsung Galaxy III LTE... or the Google Nexus. It is far above the "entry level" class of phones too! I have to admit, I felt like I was cheating my wife by getting a "free" phone for her... but after using it I feel that I ripped Best Buy for getting the phone free on an upgrade... and trading in her old EVO 4G for a $65 credit! This is by far the best free phone I have ever seen.... and I worked for Sprint as a store manager for 4 years.

So here are some bullet points on why to consider the LG Viper;

* Smallest of the 4G LTE Android phones For my wife the size of the other LTE phones was a tad bit too big. The size of this phone is perfect for her.

* Speed This phone hands down "smokes" the EVO 4G that she had. When I was doing updates I was amazed of the speed of the phone. This thing is a fast and powerful as you need!

* Covers the basics well Good camera, access to the web, facebook, gmail, apps, etc. For the NON TEENAGER... this phone works very well! If you are a a power user (business or teens) then you may want to explore the higher end phones. But if you need a phone for your day to day basics this phone is for you! (and then some!)

* Value Like I said, I cannot believe that this phone is free. If money is a consideration then look at the LG Viper before dropping $150 to $200 on a larger more powerful handset... then look at this phone and compare the "true" needed features that you will use daily.

* Sprint LTE It is coming... when it does you will see a huge performance gain compared to the old WIMAX 4G network Sprint uses. So you are buying the newer technology, not the old one. (Check with Sprint to see when your area is scheduled to get 4G LTE)

* This phone currently runs on Android 2.3 (older version)... but from what I have read it is getting Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)... so you have a huge upgrade coming in the future! (Which helps "future proof" this device)

Here are a few reasons why not to consider it;

* Small phone In my hands the EVO 4G LTE fits a lot better than the LG VIPER. The Viper is too small... and I feel like it will slip out of my hand easily. This can be solved by using a protective case (since they have a better grip material)... none-the-less, it is too small for me, but perfect for my wife!

* If you have to feed your ego LOL, I am serious, some people have to have the BEST, most top of the line phone out there... this one is good, but not that good!

* Screen size The trend is to make phones big enough to use as a "small tablet"... yet small enough to still be a phone. Having a 4.7" screen is significant enough compared to the LG Viper... but the Viper's screen is big enough for normal "regular people" usage. For example, I would NOT watch a high-def movie on any phone, regardless of screen size... that is what my 55" HDTV is for! So having a larger screen is not necessarily "critical" for our needs.

For the money, the LG Viper is HARD to beat. It is very powerful... so I can see it being useful for the above average users as well. The only group I do not see adopting it is the HARDCORE power junkies out there. But for the more average phone users out there this phone is just awesome!

At $99 at Sprint (sorry Amazon, bought through Sprint), i thought this device would be a 'whatever' simple Android phone. But it's actually speedy and responsive.

The battery life is bad but not worse than other Android phones which is why i use JuiceDefender (app) to keep my battery lasting all day.

HW quality is solid, though i wish the back cover were rubberized. NFC is cool, takes a while to get used to it and get into the mode of pulling out your phone instead of your wallet.

I'm not gonna hold my breath for Sprint to turn on LTE here in San Diego, so i can't say much about the LTE capabilities BUT as a 3G phone, it's solid.

If you are reading this review then you too are looking for good and bad to help sway your purchase. Be sure and write your own review when you decide to buy something to help out other people. As I write this, there are only six reviews For The LG Viper 4G LTE on Amazon so I thought I would add mine.

Purchased the LG Viper two weeks ago on Amazon since they had a discounted price ($0.01) compared to Sprint ($59) with my two year upgrade. I think I am exactly the customer this phone was designed for. I like new technology, but I am not willing to pay $150-200 for a new phone, so when this one came out that was on the 4G LTE network, had a fast processor and great screen, I immediately went looking at reviews. CNET had reviewed it, as well as Endgaget and several others. They all spoke of the green construction and great camera, but it came out in April and was followed by the "high dollar" phones from Samsung and HTC so you didn't hear anything about this phone after that.

The LG Viper 4G LTE is a very nice looking handset that has a lot of amenities. The weight is good and the size is near perfect for me. I may eventually go with a case for it, but currently don't see an immediate need to. Normal use and keeping it in my pocket have not shown any scratches or wear on the exterior. It comes with a 4GB micro SD card so storage has not been a problem. It says it will support a 32GB card if you want to carry all your music with you.

I was upgrading from another LG phone, the Optimus S, so the button layout was the same. It was a change switching for physical buttons to soft keys, but having them in the same place made the transition easy. The extensive use of recycled materials is a nice feature, but doesn't sway me one way or the other. The phone was released on Earth Day and I am sure they thought the "green" construction would sell more phones, but I am not sure it did. The Gorilla glass was something I had not had before and I am very impressed with...I will be looking for this feature on the next phone I upgrade to. But I was more concerned about the telephone reception. I like have the ability to search the internet when I have a question or have more entertainment options when I am bored but I need a phone to also be a phone! The LG cell reception is equal but not better with the Viper vs. the Optimus S in outlying areas; Both were fine in full coverage. I have no home phone and just use the cell phone, so this was important to me. It does seem to work better while roaming then the Optimus did. The Viper does not sound "tinny" as the professional reviewers have said and I don't have a problem with the external speaker either. At full volume the speaker is too loud to have close up but perfect to have in the cup-holder giving me turn by turn directions. I have used the camera for taking quick snapshots and brief video, and while good enough for Facebook uploads, I will not be using it as my only camera. If this is important to you, go to one of the stores that carry phones and play with it. You may be more impressed than I was.

Others have spoken of the dismal battery life, but I have not seen it. If you have not had a smartphone before, they all are this way. The Viper is better than my previous smartphone on standby and normal use, but using it as a GPS runs it down faster. My best time has been 15 hours with no Bluetooth or GPS on, but wifi was on. The worst was 7 hours with the last two using as my GPS and having the display on the whole time. I have not had as much problem with battery use when on wifi; I was able to watch two Netflix TV 30 min episodes while trying to run my battery down from 15%. You will have to judge your own phone, but this is plenty for me. I already had to keep a phone charger with me at work, so I don't balk at having to do the same now. As for speed, the processor is much faster than what the Optimus had, so downloads are speedy and normal page loading is very quick. As said before I can watch Netflix and play fast moving games without the buffer problem I had before, so I can say I am very pleased with performance.

Unfortunately I do not live in one of the 15 released areas with Sprint 4G LTE, but plan on trying it out in Baltimore next time I go. The speed should increase, but I also expect the battery life will decrease. I will update when I have more info. Bottom line, I am happy with my phone. It was one I would have been happy had I paid more for it, and I felt that it had not had enough good reviews to do it justice. If you are not looking for the newest phone to show off to your friends, you will be happy with the LG Viper.

Update 23 Mar 2013

**************

Still very happy with my phone, screen has held up well. I have been able to leave a few scratches in it, but I do not have a case or screen cover on it; I am surf if I did, they would not be there. The back, being plastic, shows much more wear and though I am not happy with this, I will not deduct a star for it. Making an all aluminum back would have pushed the price much higher and gone away from the green theme that the phone was released with. Battery life has continued to be where it was and I found that while overseas, I can run the phone in airplane mode with wifi on and get more than double what I was getting before (no Sprint service here, so no need to waste battery searching for signal.) Again, there are many phones out there that will beat this one, but it was still free with upgrade last I looked and it is plenty powerful running ICS, so it is the best bang for your buck.

Got this phone about 2 weeks ago and Love It!! Had a blackberry previous to this phone which was nice but the LG Viper is like going from a horse drawn carriage (blackberry) to a Viper race car. The only complaint I have is the battery life, but then I guess all smart phones have short battery life. I have a car charger and plug it in while driving. Also the touch screen is very sensitive, but then I'm not used to it. There are a lot of widgets on the phone which I probley will never use, but they don't seem to slow it down at all. Again I'm very happy with it. Very good phone sound quality and screen quality and also the camera is very, very good. I would recommend this.

I just received my LG Viper this afteroon(6/5) and couldn't be happy with it so far. I've had LG cell phones in the past that worked very well for me so I thought I would give it another chance. The last phone I had Samsung Intercept that gave me nothing but trouble( had to replace the touchscreen once and had it replaced the total phone twice.) So far I was able to downdload apps that my Intercept wouldn't let me do. I took a picture of my son with the phone and it came out clear as day. I know the battery life is a little iffy but I think that I can work with that. I did download an app killer to see if that will help extend the battery. I'm home alot anyway so it easy for me to plug it in when needed. The phone is a little bigger than my Intercept, but it fit well in my wristlet purse. I felt that Amazon gave me a great deal with my Sprint upgrade I only paid $19.99 with free two day shipping ! Sprint would had charged me $86.00 for the same phone !! I'll come back to Amazon when its time to upgrade again. Thanks Amazon. I'll come back later to let you know if I have any problems with my Viper.

iMode Alarm Clock Radio iPod Docking Station (Black)

iMode Alarm Clock Radio iPod Docking Station
  • Made for iPodiPod VideoiPod Nano and iPod Mini
  • Wake to iPod radio or buzzer
  • LCD alarm Clock display
  • Remote control for iPOD
  • iPod navigation from the remote control

I was so excited to receive my iMode from my wife for Christmas 2008. All the main features seemed to work -AM/FM Radio, iPod, Alarm Clock x 2 -except the remote control. It comes with a battery. Since it didn't worked, I assumed it was drained and I replaced it with a new battery. It still didn't work. This was disappointing, because this was not a simple on/off remote. This remote allowed the user to complete EVERY function that can be done on the console of the iMode itself. This is a rare completely inclusive remote for the price.

I called the maker of iMode for a replacement remote since the product is under warranty. I was told to exchange it at the store for a new one (makes sense). I asked what to do if the store didn't have it, and Curtis told me to call them back for a remote. The store was indeed sold out of them, and was not planning on restocking after the holiday (holiday promotion). I called iMode maker back as requested. They told me that I must return it to the store, that the store must call iMode maker to explain that they sold a product with faulty remote, Curtis would then send the new remote to the store where I could pick it up. After all this above action taken, iMode maker told the store that the customer must request the remote under the warranty. I'm done...I left the iMode at the store and requested a full refund. I'm sad to write this review, since the product is potentially great (especially for the bang for the buck), but the low quality of the product and the low quality of the customer service and return policy/protocol, left me with the feeling of iMust Return My iMode.

I got this docking system in 2008 for my birthday and it still works great to this day. The alarm is excellent and the sound quality is very good. I got mine at Big Lots for $25 and after seeing the price of it on here I realized I had quite a steal. I would definitely recommend this. The only complaint I have is that my remote doesn't always work and I have to take the battery out and in put it back in to get it to work again. It might just be a defect with my remote though.

If you just need to wake-up in the morning with your pod, this is ok, but honestly I have this item, used it for two months and it went up in the attic for two years. I have just brought it back down to see what I can do with it. I think the sound is awful and it's just a waste of money. Buy something better, like Sony or a real Brand.

One star, sorry!

Philips Fidelio DS8530/37 30-Pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Speaker Dock

Philips Fidelio DS8530/37 30-Pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Speaker Dock
  • SoundCurve for superb crystal-clear sound
  • PureDigital for unsurpassed sound clarity
  • Shielding technology to block mobile phone interference
  • Optimal acoustic volume to match speakers' requirements

I own the Philips Fidelio DS8550 Speaker System as well as this model, the DS8530/37. Here are a few differences between the two.

1. The price of the DS8550 is around $100 higher or so, depending on the week. But there are reasons for this price difference that may be quite justifiable depending on your needs.

2. The DS8550 has Bluetooth. This model does not. You must have an iOS device docked to it or any other device connected via an AUX line-in jack.

3. The DS8550 has a rechargeable battery backup so the speakers will continue to play when you unplug the device. This model does not.

4. The DS8550 has a carrying handle. This model does not, but the speaker is smaller than the DS8550.

These are just a few of the differences. Now, for what is the same: they both have AMAZING sound. Great bass and clear treble. I've had guests that were quite surprised at how great this model sounds.

The remote that comes with this speaker allows you to perform basic functions like changing music tracks, adjusting volume, etc. The iOS app designed for this speaker allows you to also change equalizer settings and select from presets like rock, jazz, and classical. The ROCK setting makes most music sound even more fantastic. The app also gives you access to internet radio stations, playback options and album art, and weather forecasts.

Philips has been building some great docking stations and speakers over the past few years. I am very impressed with the sound from their speakers in general, and this model is no exception! Five stars for this speaker, but if you have another $100 to spend, take a look at the DS8550 as well.

Buy Philips Fidelio DS8530/37 30-Pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Speaker Dock Now

Seems like a minor gripe, but being a tree-hugger I really like to be able to turn off my electronics when I'm not using them. This speaker dock turns off only when the iPad or iPod is removed, so it can't really be used as a place to store the players. I also have a DS7700 which is smaller and it has a power switch. However, the power supply for that is at the socket; on the DS8530, the power supply is larger but away from the socket so it can be hidden.

The speaker system is stable and my iPad fits snugly into the dock. The sound is great and the bass is good. There is no distortion -just be careful to balance the volume on the iPad/iPod with the dock. I use this in the kitchen and don't expect it to function as my main stereo system.

The app is okay -I rarely use it, but it's a nice-to-have.

Philips is really cornering the market on this type of product; and for good reason. I also own the Philips Fidelio Docking Speaker iPod, iPhone and iPad, DS7700, another great Philips product supporting Apple products. I also owned a Bose SoundDock Series II Digital Music System for iPod (Black)and it would be unfair to compare a Bose Sound Dock head on to this union. You pay more for a Bose Sound Dock. However, even then, Philips comes in a close second.

As judgment of sound quality will vary from person to person depending on tastes and level of being an audiophile, I can only offer my assessment of sound quality as an average user, not incredibly concerned with sound qualitybut definitely someone who will notice "cheap" sound reproduction. I found the sound quality of this particular unit to be exceptional providing great bass and clarity even at louder volumes. Easily fills an entire living room with quality sound unless you have incredibly high ceilings (and I mean very high). I encountered this situation in one of my rooms where my ceiling in a large sitting room is essentially at the height of a two story roof line. However, even my Bose experienced issues in that room because it is acoustically horrible. In most rooms in my house, the sound is great. As you get into larger rooms however (such as a 600 sq ft bonus room), sound quality depreciates. But, this is to be expected. The Sound Curve design is a noticeable improvement over previous Philips designs because it directs sound forward and up at about a 45 degree angle whereas units such as the Philips Fidelio Docking Speaker iPod, iPhone and iPad, DS3510and Philips Fidelio Docking Speaker iPod, iPhone and iPad, DS7700 directed sound mostly up at only a slight angle.

Packaging is spectacular for the product and immediately says quality. Build quality of the unit is great and you realize quickly this product is not one of those cheap docking/speaker stations we have all probably owned at one point. Setup for this device is about 5 minutes out of the box. This unit, compared to some other Philips units, is physically larger. Not a bad aspect as it provides what I term "fuller sound" but may be a slight issue for those short on space. It also does not offer wireless capability of any kind (802.11 or Bluetooth). I have a Philips unit that does offer Bluetooth capability and I rarely use it. This unit requires a direct physical connection to the Apple device. By no means an inconvenience because it also keeps the device charged. The Fidelio DS8530/37 connector is a great design allowing you to connect your Apple device WITHOUT having to remove the protective case (like a Bose Sound Dock). Very well thought out feature by the design team and hopefully other manufacturers will follow. This unit also includes a remote control many will find handy.

Another key feature that should not go overlooked is the Fidelio App for Iphone/Ipad (FREE DOWNLOAD from Itunes Store). This application easily brings radio to your device (great selection of about 7400 stations at this time). It also provides a host of other features such as customized alarms, wakeup music, weather reports and warnings, etc... It really is the perfect method to round out the device and expand its usefulness.

In summary5 Stars and definitely worth the money. This is a quality product you will have 5 years from now and will provide a good return of investment. Works especially well in rooms such as kitchens, bedrooms, dens, office, and living rooms. For sound purposes, be mindful of very large rooms in excess of 500 sq feet with high ceilings.

This dock produces outstanding room filling sound.

Looks very modern and sleek.

Works well with my iPhone4 and iPAD2.

Only drawback is, I need to take my iPAD case off to mount it on the dock. If not for this, I would have given this 5 stars.

This speaker does a good job boosting the music from an iPod so that you can listen to it in a bedroom or dorm room. It's big enough to deliver good sound, but small enough to be fairly portable. That makes it very handy for the college freshman in our family, who likes this a lot.

Emerson Radio CKS5055S SmartSet Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Large LED Display (Silver)

Emerson Radio CKS5055S SmartSet Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Large LED Display
  • Large .9-inch LED clock display is easy to read
  • AM/FM tuner with one-touch on/off switch
  • Dual alarms
  • Patented SmartSet automatic time setting system
  • Long-life, built-in Lithium battery backup

The Emerson Radio CKS5055S arrived on schedule. The internal battery was dead and could not be revived after charging for several hours. After inserting a new battery, the clock worked. However, the "buttons" that need to be depressed to set the time zone, hour and minute were damaged and only after repeated pressing, the clock was set to the proper time. Once set, the clock seems to work fine it will be interesting to see if the clock automatically adjusts the hour when daylight savings time ends. This is the fourth Emerson Radio clock I have owned the other three worked properly "out of the box". This clock is a replacement for one of the others that was damaged by a power surge following a storm. I like the clock but expect products that are not more than 5 years out of date.

Really like this radio/alarm. Dual alarms is a must. Power outage...no worry. Battery back-up keeps clock running and on time. Display is large and easy to read. I recommend this to others.

GPX Under Cabinet CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Radio (Silver)

GPX Under Cabinet CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Radio
  • Drawer-Load Disc Player with Programmable Tracks
  • AM/FM Radio with Blue Backlit LCD Display
  • Dual Front-Firing Speakers with Slim Remote Control
  • AM/FM Radio with Rotary Tuning and Digital Readout
  • Includes Under-Counter Mounting Template, Screws & Spacers

I bought this to replace an existing under cabinet CD player (different brand) and am not very happy with it. It has a hollow sound and no controls for bass or treble. Also I thought it had a light like my other one but it doesn't. It is very thin and streamlined and looks good in my kitchen but that's where my positive comments end. Wouldn't recommend this one if you want good sound and adequate controls.

Let's face it this unit is not a Sony. But at $30, it does everything it's supposed to. The cd player, radio, and mp3 input all work fine. Doesn't have a lot of volume but it works well for our kitchen.

Needed CD player for listening to books but the sound is good enough that we are enjoying music as well. It does not turn itself off and it was a job getting the antenna untied but we love it. May never be able to get radio to work. Think we need about 100 ft to get outside our cement house. Time is lighted, a bonus as my new microwave has no battery backup so it vanishes with every power glitch. For the price it is amazing.

I have owned product for a couple of months now and I am happy with it thus far.

Installation instructions are very complete, accurate and easy to follow.

If you are looking for a product that does what it promises for the price, this is what you want.

My husband and I purchased this radio a little over a month ago now and we are happy with the purchase. We had read all these reviews here on Amazon and took them into consideration before purchasing. It is true what most people said, the sound is not that great (it definitely lacks bass) but it doesn't have that airy sound to it either. It is an average sound nothing special. The radio reception isn't the greatest either. We got in about 60% of the normal radio stations we can pick up in our car. Also, one thing that wasn't mentioned is that you cannot preset any radio stations. They are digital, but are switched with a dial on the side of the radio.

Now to the positives. The best thing about this radio is that fact that you can hook up your mp3 player or in our case, the mp3 players on our phones. We use this feature all the time. It was also easy to install since they give you a template to follow to drill the holes. I personally thinks it looks nice it isn't an eyesore. It is slim as well.

Granted, this radio does has its downfalls, however the reason I decided to give it 4 stars out of 5 is because it is simple: you get what you pay for. If you are looking for an inexpensive under-the-cabinet radio this one is just fine. If you want awesome sound obviously this one isn't for you. I would recommend it if you don't want a radio with all the bells and whistles, but something simple to play some music while cooking or eating dinner.

Received a Crosley 12-2 iJukebox from my husband for my birthday! Absolutely love this jukebox! Looks awesome in my retro, Betty Boop/Diner kitchen! Not only does it sound well but looks so retro, yet has ipod hookup. Very impressed with the quality, lighting system and the little details like wheels to roll it around, ease of moving the unit. I had been looking on ebay to purchase a used one and am glad I didnt, considering the detail on the jukebox and fragile pieces that if not wrapped and boxed in the original packaging, would have most definitely been damaged/broken. Worth the money to buy a new one directly from AMAZON! Nothing but good things to say about them, fast shipping, and not to mention free shipping! Oh and one more thing....you can purchase the storage stand to place under it...but in my opinion looks great as is!

What a nice way to have a jukebox in your house. And under $1000. The Crosley iJukebox looks really impressive! Lots of color changing lights and motion CD's spinning in a top lighted window. Remote controlled. The single player CD plays MP3 CD's too. So you can burn a ton of MP3's onto a CD on your PC and this iJukebox will play them. There is a power-on light button so you can operate the iJukebox without the lights on, if desired. Also the lights change colors, from deep reds to deep greens to deep blues and colors in-between. But what is really nice, on the unit back is a switch where you can FREEZE the current light color for a constant red, or constant blue or whatever you freeze the changing lights at. Switching the button off, the colors will again function in rotating change mode.

Rollers on the base allow the unit to move around easily if needed. This has AM/FM, iPod dock (I have not used that yet), and single CD drive they plays MP3's burnt to a CD.

Also has AUX input on the back. But this iJukebox really looks impressive, and BIG. Not a tiny scaled down unit. It stands about 4" tall, and taller if you ad the optional base storage unit.

Yes you can have your very own fun, eye catching, center of attraction, old fashion jukebox with this Crosley iJukebox unit.

PS.. Mine came where the spinning CD's in the top windows was dark and not spinning. The front colored lights worked ok. Only the top window and spinning CD's were not functioning. Also make sure the "light-on" large yellow button on the jukebox front is pressed in the "on" position. If the front arched lights light up ok, but the top spinning CD window is dark and not working, then you have a problem. A call to crossly tech, told me sometimes a wire comes lose during shipping.

As instructed by crosley tech, (FIRST UN-PLUG THE JUKEBOX FROM THE WALL) I removed the arched top back panel (several screws to remove), took off the back top arched panel, and to the very far right inside you see a circuit board with two "large-thick" yellow wires going to the very extreme far right of the board, and two large-thick black wires also going to the same extreme far right area. These are power wires going to the CD spinning function circuit board. As expected by crossly tech, one large black wire was not attached. Just hanging there. You look close to the far right of the board and you see where the "two" yellow wires snap onto "two" prongs, and the "two" black wires should snap onto "two" prongs of their own. Easily noticed is a prong with no wire attached. This is where the lose black wire needs re-connecting to. You will see a small round clear-glass fuse with two snap prongs on each end side of the glass fuse. The two large black wires snap onto these two prongs, one black wire on each side of the glass fuse. One wire per prong. I seen right away one prong next to one side of the glass fuse had no wire attached. THAT is where this lose large black wire should go. After re-attaching the lose wire, and screwing the arched back top cover back onto the unit, the spinning CD's worked and the light in the window was on.

So if your iJukebox comes with the top spinning CD window dark and no spinning action but all other front colored lights are working, then that black wire probably has just come lose. UN-PLUG the jukebox, naturally before removing the back cover and attaching wire(s). I have a youtube video on this fix. Search "crossly 12-2 jukebox" at youtube. I highly recommend contacting crossly tech support to guide you with this lose wire fix !!!

So, the first reason this is so great is that I got it on black friday and the price was just $99.99 plus tax. It is supposed to charge my ipad and wake me up in all sorts of ways. It has a piece of nice looking rubber seated near the charging plug for the ipad that can be removed if you want to use an ipod instead.

I downloaded the manual because the buttons on top are SUPER difficult to see in the my bedroom. It's not a super bright room and the buttons are silver with backlit names on them. If you are setting it up, it's hard because you need light and you can't see what you need to see. The trade-off is that the buttons and the design look very nice and clean. Anyway, I put my ipad on it's little dock and pressed the time sync button on the back of the unit and wow! The time was set! Then the manual said I needed to download onto my ipad the ihome app. Well, there are two and I am already confused. I can't believe I'm going to have to decipher all this. This is NOT Apple people.

Anyway, my ipad was 56% charged when I put it on there and now it is 36%. I had set only one alarm to go off for 6am every day. The alarm sounded briefly and never resounded! I don't know if I got a lemon but in the troubleshooting section, when your ipad fails to charge, they just have three different scenarios where they blame your Apple product. Lame. I am charging my ipad just fine on the wall adapter.

I will give it more stars if these problems get straightened out. I wanted to leave this review since there were no others. Sometimes companies find a way to start clean when there are lots of problems reported in reviews. If the docking problem on mine is an isolated incident, I'll find out sooner.

i just purchased this unit from Sam's Club at a great price! unlike the other reviewers, i am using this clock radio in my office. It is a wonderful unit! as soon as i set it up and put my iPhone on it, the clock immediately synched time with my iPhone.

I had to purchase and return several other iPhone speaker docking units because i have a case on my iPhone and i didn't want to remove every time i used the dock. this unit has a removable rubber strip that when removed, was very easy to set my iPhone on the dock.

Not only does the unit charge my iPhone with no problem, but the sound is great. the radio is easy to set up and is perfect for my use.

The reason for the 4 stars is because the buttons on the top of the unit are hard to read. Out of curiosity, i will set the alarm and see how it works.

This was an early Christmas present for my wife. It started out fine. I downloaded the free app that allows you to use your phone or ipad to sync the clock and to set up the alarms. The app interface is kind of important because the the controls on the clock are not user friendly. For about a week, we had it set up to wake us with the radio, and that was fine. Then, ihome seems to have changed it's apps. When I tried to set the alarm to wake with radio, I get sent to the app store to BUY a radio app! Really? A hundred dollar alarm clock and the company wants me to pay more money to have a radio option? Any cheap radio clock can do that much without the need for a four hundred dollar phone running a two dollar app. So far this week, we've had two out of two alarm failures and we're not exactly sure why because it worked fine last week before the apps mysteriously changed. So, now it fails as an alarm clock and I need to buy a feature I already had under the old app. My advice is skip ihome and find a nice speaker dock for your iphone/ipad and get a cheap, reliable clock for waking up.

Just bought this as a gift for our 11 year old son. He opened the package, plugged it in, and figured out how to use it in minutes. The sound is great. Set the alarm with no problem, even chose the song to wake up to from is ipod app. Time sync'd as soon as the ipad was in place. He uses the ipad screen to update information on the id85, I noticed. If he can do it so quickly and easily, I can not see why others are having issues. Maybe once he starts getting into more complicated types of use, it might get more challenging, but so far, no guess work and super easy to set up and use for music and an alarm!!!

Received for Christmas 2011, Apple update to iOS 5.1, and it is no longer compatible. It charges, but will not play music. But the worst part (for me) is that the audio settings are all jammed up after docking. I literally have to power down and reboot in order for my audio to work after placing on this.

(I have the iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1...just one man's tale)
