This is a fantastic alarm. I love the quiet wake feature which starts at a whisper and increases the decibels until you stop it. My family perhaps loves this feature even more than I do because I tend to snooze for an hour or so if I can get away with it. I like the auto-set feature and wish my other clocks could have that too.

It has two alarms so I can set it different on the weekends. The radio is not very good, but I didn't plan to use it much anyway.

You DO have to be careful if you plan to snooze not to accidentally hit the off button. It's a little too easy to do that!

After reading all the reviews about the display being too bright, I decided to buy one anyway. The model number of the one I received (2/2012) is CKS9031 and there is a suffix of MA. I suspect that Emerson has corrected the "too bright" display. On high it is fine and on low it is barely readable during the day. The clock set to the correct time out of the box.

Had this in a guest room when staying at a relatives, it lit up the room and worked as a nightlight for my 2 y/o. I liked the large display and was amazed when the darn thing set itself when I moved it to a different outlet.

Astheticly, I liked the size of the unit, it preffer something w/ some weight to it. This radio seems solid and since I bought it for a kids room, it better be. The lines are atractive, sort of rounded edges and a nice sublte modern look.

The display comes in red, green & blue. I have blue for the kiddo's room to light it up (even on dim). I will get red for mine, as I want a dark room.

I do agree that the tuning is sub-par. The dial is just too "fuzzy" for a digital tuner. I knew this going in and was OK w/ it. I get the classical station I want and it basicaly stays on 24/7 in the kids room at a low level.

Quick setup with the clock time and no issues setting the alarm. Wife likes the soft to loud alarm wake-up feature of the clock. What we both dislike is the amount of blinding light the clock emits on normal or dimmer setting. We have to either cover up the clock before turning in for the night or face it to a wall to cut down on the light. I gave it 2 stars because of the dimmer being so bright.

Purchased this clock after reading most of the reviews, even though some said it was too bright. It was very easy to set up. It set itself with the exception of the time zone, which was very easy to do. That night we were surprised to find it was not to bright for us. I did adjust it to dim. It gives off some light which for us is good. If you like a very dark room you may not like it but we love it. Our OLD clock was wrong about a month in the spring and two weeks in the fall. It had an old chip. I am very pleased to get this one now we won't have the wrong time. I love the blue color. I do not like the red and green as much. We are very pleased with this clock. We ordered through Amazon and got it for $24.99 with free shipping because I ordered something else.

I would like to give this item 5 stars because the packaging was exquisite and carefully thought out, the item is well designed and very nice to look at, BUT, nowhere in the description that I can find does it say if you want to use this with an iPod Nano that you have to contact the manufacturer for the proper docking adaptor. And that it takes two to three weeks to receive it! This is a fifty cent piece of plastic folks. Oregon Scientific should supply their distributors with the piece and let them add it to the order instead of suprising the consumer like this. Come on! This was a gift and the excitement my daughter felt at receiving it was dampened considerably by her inability to use the thing.I give it four stars because the speaker seems to be well made and the instructions are thorough even though there is only a small tag discretely placed on the outside of the box that says you have to ask for the adaptor to make it work with the Nano. If that had been in the item description I could have requested it when I bought it and saved a week or so of waiting. As it is we have a rather expensive clock that we can't use as a speaker until Oregon Scientific fufills the adaptor request.

1/12/06. I would like to report that Oregon Scientific contacted me and we resolved all issues with this order. They were extremely helpful , gave a clear and concise explanation of the issue with the Nano adaptor and satisfied me completely. It is a pleasure to deal with a company that is so concerned with their customers. My complements to them and their customer service crew.

Now to the product. The system works flawlessly, there were no glitches or difficulty in setting it up and the sound is fabulous.It is the equal of my Bose Wave radio in my opinion. The smile on my daughter's face as she carried the ball around listening to her stored music was worth the wait. I can recommend this product with no reservations. I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars and ordering a catalog from Oregon Scientific today.

The iBall sounds great and the features it offers are the best on the market. However, if you but put it side by side with the Bose Sound Dock to compare sound, it comes up short. Fairly significantly too. My dilemma is whether or not that sound quality is worth the $100 extra and losing the the fact that the iBall works on rechargeable batteries (provided) and that you can have the iPod base sitting next to you and have the speaker on the other side of the room. 2 very cool features.

My only other complaint is they should have made the base work with batteries as well. That would make this remote/wireless feature even more powerful.

I am happy with the purchase and think I'm going to keep it, but hate knowing there is a better sounding product out there.

Rarely do I write a review of a "gadget" that I have purchased.

However, this product is an exceptional value that is very practical and works exactly as promised. I own a Bose sound system for the ipod and the sound quality of the iBall compares very favorably. Because of the wireless capability this speaker system is a much better bargain. Its ingenious design and quality of sound make this one of the coolest gadgets that I have ever purchased[I have a closet full of electronic gizmos that never lived up to expectation].

Four plus stars! Bought in New Zealand, so packing may be different, but the box DID include an adapter for the Nano, as well as six other iPod models. Oregon Scientific put a lot of thought into this device. The sound quality, in particularly the bass reponse, is very satisfactory. Being able to just pop the iBall wherever you wish, with no trailing cords, is just great. The dock for the iPod is weighty and has very non-skid pads. My only quibble is that, as far as I can tell, you can adjust the volume only by the controls on the iBall.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this speaker sounds, nice bass. I would describe it as a desktop system or as one reviewer stated, a small room. Not a problem as the speaker can be relocated wherever needed, up to 100 feet from the transmitter (docking station), according to the manual. I also like the option of cordless operation, although I will probably use the adapter most of the time. Included with the packaging is a wall mount and a lint-free cloth to remove fingerprints from the clear plastic casing. Very thoughtful. For those who are curious about setup and how the features work, Amazon has placed a link to the product manual under Product Details.

Although I have not tried this, the manual states that "the speaker and transmitter dock can be connected to different audio sources and video outpout devices while the iPod remains docked ... allowing for flexible ways to playback music and photos (iPod with color display." A nice added feature.

My only real complaint is the built-in remote. It is on top of the speaker ball where it can't be seen. I have gotten pretty good at memorizing the various "bumps" and can adjust by feel BUT it would have been nice if a handheld remote had been included or the 4 sets of buttons had been isolated from one another and located on the front rim. Still, for the price, this is a relatively minor complaint. I like the product well enough that I bought another for a birthday gift for a friend.

I bought this alarm clock because overall it looked like the best for a reasonable price that included iPod docking. Everything about the clock is pretty good, except one glaring flaw. There is a feature for the alarm function that automatically increases the volume to wake you up. But this feature increases the volume almost instantaneously (within 5 seconds), and the volume becomes EXTREMELY LOUD. And the worst part is, you can't set a starting volume or a maximum volume for the feature, and you can't even turn off the feature!! I like to have the volume at around 8 for waking up, but the alarm increases to 20-30 really quickly, which I wouldn't be surprised if it woke my neighbors.

If you're not using this clock as an alarm clock and just using it to tell time and to play your iPod or radio, then great, you'll be happy. But if you want to use its alarm capabilities (and keep your eardrums intact), then I suggest you look elsewhere. I am returning this clock...very dissatisfied.

I was looking for a simple alarm clock onto which I could dock my iPhone 4 and listen to music occasionally. This model works fine for me. The sound quality is good. The alarm is loud but I don't let it go for very long so it's not a problem. It really is very bright. I bought two of these one for my husband and one for me. If it's bright in the room with just one, it's really, really bright with two, even with the display dimmed. Still, it's not a dealbreaker and I just turn the clock away from me a little. For the price, I really can't complain (I got mine on sale). I love waking up to a freshly charged iPhone and since our cell phones are our only phones, I like that it's docked right next to the bed.

I like this alarm clock, but it doesn't work on battery power. (It has the feature, and I put brand new batteries in it, to no avail.) So this alarm clock will do me no good when the power is out. Otherwise it's fine. Of course it is made in China. When are we going to start sourcing products from a country that makes them so they actually work?

I like this alarm clock. I read the reviews on both amazon and walmart.com (amazon was cheaper, btw) and everyone warned that it was bright. I scoffed at this as the people writing said reviews must be big babies. Otherwise, said the reviews, it was rather good. So I got it. I do like it and it charges my iphone 4 fantastically! It is bright though. But, it isn't so bad. If you are sleep deprived, it may keep you up and make it harder for you to settle down. I speak from experience on this as I have a baby. I end up putting a sheer wash cloth over it so I can still see the time but dim it a bit. It works. Good price and good alarm clock/docking station for the money, says I.

It seems that when it comes to ipod docks, Apple must charge a certain amount of money just for the company to say their product can dock with an ipod. Jensen used up all that money and only put a couple more cents into the actual product.

I'll get to good out of the way quickly. Small footprint and OK sound for the price/size. You shouldn't expect much for this price and a clock radio.

Now on to the bad.

* WAY TOO BRIGHT! I yelled that on purpose. There are two settings, blindingly bright and even brighter than that. OK. I exaggerate a bit. But even on the low setting the whole room is lit. I taped some colored cellophane over the clock and it still lights up the room, and now it's hard to read the time. Why do they make clock radios with blue numbers. Red is so much softer.

* The buttons have a very cheap feel to them and make a loud plastic clicking sound when pressed. Not very nice when I am trying not to wake the spouse.

* There is no support for your ipod. Eventually the male end of the dock will break or the dock will do damage to your ipod.

* Auto time set. This is funny. It has a battery backup in it. So before they put it in the box at the factory, they set the time. When you plug it in, voila, the time is set. Ha. Whoever set mine had a watch that was 5 minutes fast.

There was another review that mentioned the alarm volume automatically increases. They must have a different clock-radio because that isn't a feature of this one.

I love this phone! I can tell you a few negatives and I will, but let me first say this phone works really well and is a lot of fun.

I initially bought this very model of watch from another vendor about six months ago. I was using a different model before this with fewer features and I wanted to use this one instead, but it took me a while to figure out how to change the size of the band. When my other wrist phone suddenly died I need to figure it out and I did.

The great things about this phone are obvious. You don't need to worry that you'll lay it down anywhere and forget it. You won't accidentally drop it in your laundry because you left it in a pocket. It is expected to work with a wireless headset (I recommend a Plantronics with noise cancelling dual microphones), not included. However, should you leave your headset in the car, say, and you need to take a call, just slip it off your wrist, slip your hand through the band so the speaker is by your ear and talk into the band. the sound quality is great both ways. Nobody will believe you are talking on a wrist phone except for those around you, and their jaws will be on the floor.

Also this phone sends texts. Now texts are nothing amazing with today's phones but that this tiny phone is pretty easy to send texts from also impresses others. I mostly like that the phone is out of sight, out of mind, most of the time.

For some insane reason it came with two batteries. It is not easy to change batteries so I hope the spare battery has a good shelf life so it still works when the built in battery finally dies.

Downsides:

-Reception is not great; you will experience more dropped calls with this one than other phones.

-The USB cord is somewhat proprietary, or at least rare. I contacted the seller and ordered four spare cords.

-The cover for the USB is small and delicate, easy to lose and break so I ordered a spare.

-If there is a way to make this phone do any sort of app, like GPS, I've sure not figured it out.

-I've read this phone can do Wifi/Bluetooth tethering to a netbook but again I've not been able to figure it out.

-It has a rudimentary built in web-browser I've found pretty useless too, but it could be I've just not spent enough time figuring that out either.

-The phone weighs exactly half a pound, which strangely enough impresses people who ask to look at it.

I realize some of those downsides will cause some of you to avoid buying this phone, but it is just a matter of priorities. I believe the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Also, just in case you can't tell, this phone looks great!

The service I'm using is from T-Mobil and costs about $80 month to month. Had I agreed to a 1 year contract they'd have given me a phone, but when I signed up with my first phone I didn't know if I'd even like the phone so I went month to month. If you already have a T-Mobil phone you can removed your SIM card from it and put it directly into this wrist phone, but don't plan on going back and forth as the SIM card is installed under the battery behind a cover with four tiny screws. (the phone comes with a tiny screwdriver for assembly)

If you do buy this phone, please take my advice and tape a medicine vial to the cord to store the USB cover in while on charge.

The watch only gave me fun for 3 months then it's function was unstable and the watchband was broken. I think the watch is only a toy.

Eveyone sais it is a bulkiy watch but it looks cool to me, the hardest thing is adjusting the links to make it smaller, I have adjusted everything from timex to Fossil, this one was hard!

Came with two batteries, but if you have to change one make sure you remember the screwdriver that comes with it (nice screwdriver) the battery lasted about a hour and a half listening to the MP3 player.

Picture Quality is pretty good I havent tried video yet, this watch is fun and deffenatly a conversation piece! and a lot less exspensive than a Ipod nano with the watch bad..

This is an excellent Cell phone watch it work very well and it will do the job that is design for. This Cell watch looks very good and is very elegant. The volume on the phone is excellent it can be use without the headset or Bluetooth in the car while driving. The Bluetooth work very well and is very simple to operate. The camera works good considering is a watch phone. The FM radio work good the reception is not that great but it works.

The reception on the phone outdoor is very well but you my experience some difficulty talking on the phone indoor but I expected that from a cell phone inside a metallic body. The batteries will last all day and more, I say is about the same is my Samsung S II droid. Don't plan on changing batteries on the field; you need the special screwdriver that came with to do so.

So I bought the iHome IP47 model so that I could charge my iPhone while listening to music at night. I was also looking at something that would wake me up in the morning--this model boasted 2 alarms. And what edged me to buying the IP47 rather than the IP9 or IP99 was that this allowed you answer your phone while still docked. As I don't have a landline, I liked this idea, even if it cost me some extra bucks.

So... getting this home and setting it all up, I was mighty disappointed that the sleep function didn't really work. Yeah, after 15-30-60-120 minutes the sound tapered into silence BUT my iPod portion was STILL going! Ha! All it did was turn the sound off!

Secondly, I could never get the one alarm that is supposed to trigger the iPod to work. It always defaulted to the buzzer. I was also disappointed to find that the other alarm was set to trigger only the radio--I couldn't choose iPod for that one too.

Thirdly, the nice bonus of a remote to adjust your volume, advance to the next song, etc. was a nice idea, but not an actuality. The advance to the next song feature worked directly after first docking the iPhone with the iPod already playing, but the feature stopped working after a minute or two. Volume still worked, as did the ability to pause or switch to radio.

Fourthly, the Bluetooth to connect my iPhone so that you can use the phone function part of the iHome IP47 only worked some of the time. Even when docked, it sometimes would lose the signal.

And lastly, the thing that bugged me the most and decided me against even exchanging the IP47 for either a IP9 or IP99--which were basically the same thing but without the Bluetooth phone feature--was the docking station. It was very precarious setup and, as I had to touch the iPhone screen sometimes since my remote wouldn't work, pushing buttons also pushed the whole phone, making me wonder how long it would take to ruin my iPhone.

So I returned the iHome -period... no exchange. The people at Apple didn't even ask *why* I was returning it. (I wonder if that's telling.)

In the end, I bought a Sony Speaker Dock and Alarm Clock Radio that works with the iPhone. (I'd give it 4 1/2 stars)

* Sleep function that really works (turns your iPod off)... check

* Remote that actually works... check

* Remote that allows you to move OUT of the playlist and into another... double-check! (iHome doesn't do this at all!)

* 2 Alarms where both allow you decide what you want to wake to... check

* Dock that has a backstop to hold your phone securely (and recharges your phone too)... check!

* Able to answer phone while docked... well, no, but not missing it

* Sound quality... check--about the same as the iHome

* Right price... check--about the same as the iHome IP9.

Bottom line: I recommend AGAINST the IP47--not worth the money--even if it was half the price. Think twice about the other iHomes, as well, considering the docking strategy Apple uses for them.

Positive: Interference free iPhone usage and great ergonomics

Negative: Needs more phone features

I purchased this for 4 reasons:

1. No interference from iPhone while listening to iPod function

2. No interference from iPhone while listening to AM/FM radio

3. Charging dock for iPhone while I'm at the office.

4. Bluetooth speakerphone which allows me to answer and make calls while leaving the iPhone in the dock

So how well does it do?

Regarding reasons 1 and 2 above, the iP47 works flawlessly. I have had absolutely no noises while my iPhone was docked or residing near it in the regular phone mode. I don't hear any hiss, hum, pops or clicks. The speakers are excellent for spoken words such as podcasts and AM talk radio. The speakers are decent with great volume for music and FM radio. If you're a big podcast fan, I strongly recommend the iP47. The AM/FM radios include a small AM loop with stand (1.5' of cord) and FM cord (3'). The reception is good as I have a history of bad reception in my office building.

Regarding reason 3, the dock came with a variety of bases for the iPhone and other iPod devices. It is easy to move the iPhone in and out of the dock. Unfortunately, the dock is at the top, so there isn't any backstop for the iPhone. I was concerned about this since you lightly push on the phone to change settings while it is in the dock. My concern was that either the dock or phone might get stress damage by pushing on the phone while it's in the dock. The buttons on the iP47 and on the remote control help to prevent the need to touch the phone, but they don't completely replace it. One big plus is that the phone can make and receive calls without losing your place on the iPod or other Apps on the phone.

Regarding reason 4, this was really an afterthought when I was comparing this device with others. I really like the fact that I didn't have to remove the phone from the device to make and receive calls. The speakerphone works great when you use a regular speaking voice and you are 9" to 2.5' from the iP47. Both the iP47 and the remote have dialing capability; however, I was disappointed that it didn't include basic phone features such as last number redial and storage of 10 frequently called numbers. To make a call, you either have to enter the phone number by hand (not my preferred alternative now that everybody has some many numbers) or use the iPhone touch screen while in the dock (see my comments above).Since the iP47 uses Bluetooth, the iPhone doesn't have to sit in the dock to use the speakerphone capability. In the final analysis, I really like this feature and I'm glad that I spent more $$ to get this unique capability.

Other comments: I didn't buy this phone for the alarm clock, but that seems to be standard if you want an AM/FM radio and iPod/iPhone dock. However, it does have a couple of great features including a 4 position dimmer (including no light) and 2 alarms (one iPod and one radio). It doesn't have the 2-5-7 day feature that I use for my home alarm clock, but it is very easy to turn off and on. I also like the day light savings time adjustment which is a simple on/off switch on the back. The iP47 has an input jack, but I haven't tried that. All in all, this is a great device. I wouldn't have paid full retail for it, but I got a great deal from an Amazon.com merchant.

This is probably one of the worse products I ever owned. I purchased it thinking it would be a great speakerphone and alarm clock for my iPhone. First I used it primarily as a speakerphone. I could hear the person/people at the other end well enough, but they couldn't hear me unless I was literally speaking right into the unit.

After becoming frustrated with that, I decided to bring it home from the office and just use it as my alarm clock. Surely it was more functional than my Sony radio alarm clock that is 20 years old. I loved the idea of waking up to music on my iPod or iPhone.

Well, unfortunately, it is not functional with my iPod touch or my iPhone. EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE SAYS YOU CAN USE YOUR IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH AS A SOURCE FOR MUSIC FOR YOUR ALARM IT WILL NOT WORK. I, do, however happen to have an old iPod Photo that was collecting dust, and that works wonderfully. But that means that the lifespan of it is limited to old iPods that are either no longer being produced (like the Photo) or on their way out (like the Classic). Great.

So I contact support. I email them and a week later I get a response. It was a fairly cryptic "we know this doesn't work but we're coming out with an update soon. Do you want to wait?". I responded back as to what "soon" mean. Another week passes. I got a response with no specific date. I emailed back asking more specifics. Another week passes. I get another response that is just as cryptic and vague as the one before it. I write back asking for more clarification. And now... three weeks after that... STILL NO RESPONSE.

You have got to be kidding me. Not only is iHome falsely advertising, but they don't seem to care to make things right.

I will NEVER buy an iHome product again and STRONGLY encourage anyone looking to look elsewhere.

This product doesnt support the new upgrades for the iphone. The music doesnt stop when switching to different modes like iphone to fm or am and the remote doesnt stop the music from playing. Everytime you switch modes and then go back to ipod or iphone you have to redo the bluetooth in order for it to work. I would not suggest for iphone owners to buy this product.

bought two of these for kids. it uses a magnet to make the pendalum swing.first one didn't come with a magnet and other ones magnet fell out & was lost. sound on both is horrible can't make out what they're saying on one, the other sounds like darth vader whispering. only positives are it's cute &kids like it & it keeps time. contacted company trying to get replacement magnets and am waiting for call back

Got this clock for my husband, who collects M&Ms thingies. He really likes it. It's bright and colorful and does actually talk on the hour, even if the voices are a bit loud and a little mechanical sounding but then again, these are M&Ms we're talking about, not humans. It's a cute clock and I'm glad I bought it.

The clock is very cute, and the swinging M&M works well. However, the hands do not stand out very well against the background, making it difficult to tell the time. I'm considering taking it apart to outline the hands, or painting the hands black.

Thank goodness my son is happy with it. We had a hard time getting the pendulum to work and the chimes won't work unless you push the button..they don't go off on the hr like it's suppose to. any ideas??
