Disney High School Musical Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and MP3 Players

Disney High School Musical Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and MP3 Players
  • Clock Radio
  • Digital AM/FM Tuner
  • Additional Functions: iPod Dock
  • Features Sleep Timer
  • Operational Modes: Convenient Snooze Button

It does not charge the 8GB ipod nano, which is why I bought it. This is not detailed on the box or in any of the descriptions I read. I think it is misrepresenting the product to say it charges while it plays and does not distinguish that it doesn't charge the nano. I bought it for my child as a safe place to charge it and it doesn't do what I bought it for.

This alarm clock is perfect for any High School Musical fan. It looks beautiful and is built with durability in mind. One can play the radio, an iPod, or use the AUX jack for other music players. The alarm can be set for the radio, the iPod, or an annoying beep sure to get anyone out of bed.

The front door opens with a twist of the black dial and the iPod sits inside. On the top of the unit one will find controls for volume, input selection, track selection, and time setting buttons. The digital display glows red and is easily visible in the light and dark.

iPod Video owners rejoice! On the back of the unit is a video out so one can connect the player to a television.

The High School Musical Alarm Clock/Radio really is an all in one solution for someone looking to blast their tunes and add some fun novelty to any room.

As an added bonus, Disney generously includes a multitude of stickers for the purpose of decorating the unit.

Getcha' head in the game and go and buy one.

I thought this was so perfect when I saw it online and couldn't wait to give it to my sister as a gift to go with the brand new iPod Nano she was getting. As soon as she unwrapped it we hooked it up and put in her Nano in and listened to the music I just loaded, and that's where her device stayed for the next week or so. We noticed that it kept needing to be taken out & charged but I thought it was because she kept forgetting to put it to SLEEP, so I would charge it fast then put it back in there for her to use. It took us a month to realize it was not anything she was doing, the dock just doesn't charge the device. When I looked up the description, I clearly saw that it does not say that it is supposed to charge (so it is not defective), however that is just ridiculous that it doesn't. Every dock that we have bought EVER has always charged the device unless it specifically states that it doesn't (which is very rare, for a reason), especially since this is obviously for a child and what child (or anyone really) would want to have to dock it using one thing and then charge it using something else. What ended up happening is that my sisters brand new Nano was never charged whenever she needed to take it somewhere, so it made the Nano useless also. There is absolutely no reason why this player should not charge devices. So, personally, I would definitely NOT recommend this product. But if you do choose to buy it then just do so knowing that it does not charge. I'm sure it is a fine product if you don't expect that from it, unfortunately I don't know anyone who wouldn't expect it to do that.

Naxa NX-157 DIGITAL ALARM CLOCK WITH DIGITAL TUNING AM/FM RADIO AND CD PLAYER

Naxa NX-157 DIGITAL ALARM CLOCK WITH DIGITAL TUNING AM/FM RADIO AND CD PLAYERPros: Good radio reception. It seems the CD player is better made than

on my other radio. Has battery back up. Has snooze button. Can

listen to radio or CD up to 90 minutes when using sleep feature.

Has a nice design.

Cons: Can't see time very good unless power is on. Has bright blue

display screen to be able to see the time better when power is on,

how stupid is that when you are trying to go to sleep while

listening to the radio. While listening to the radio or CD while I

am going to sleep I have to stick an object in front of the bright

blue display. Has only one alarm. Has only one switch which you

choose from Buzzer, radio, and CD and is used to listen to radio or

CD. Should of had two switches, one to choose what you want to wake

up to in the morning and one to choose between listening to radio

or CD. Because of this flaw I can't listen to the radio while I am

going to sleep and wake up to the buzzer. Over all this radio sucks

and I urge everybody not to buy this stupid product.

Westclox 1950 Big Ben Moonbeam Yellow Alarm Clock

Westclox 1950 Big Ben Moonbeam Yellow Alarm ClockSure, it's just a clock. A reproduction of a 1930's clock. Jeez, it's analog in a digital world. It isn't uber-cool matte black or made of titanium. Besides accurately telling the time and having an effective alarm, its only other features are a flashing light and a battery back-up. Most would think "nothing special here." But, unexpectedly, there is something kind of special about this. There is some subtle set of elements that combine to please me whenever I look at this clock. Nothing spectacular or even all that explicable....the feeling evoked is just pleasant...like seeing a girl's ponytail jauntily bouncing, like your favorite coffee cup with filled with just the right temperature coffee, like a puppy rolling on its back to look at you. Kind of corny? Sure...but nice nevertheless.

These clocks are very nice looking, but their function leaves a lot to be desired. I purchased two of these. One in blue and one in yellow. So far the blue clock is still working. The yellow clock has to be returned. Quality control is abysmal.

The dial light in the yellow clock randomly stops working. I bought this clock to use at night for an easy way to check the time in the dark. When the dial illumination fails, the only way to restore it is to unplug the clock then plug it back in again. This restores the dial light until the next time it fails. Turning the dial light switch off and on again does not restore the light.

The problem got progressively worse. After the dial light was restored by pulling the plug, it would take several days before it failed again. Now it can fail again in a matter of minutes.

Very poor quality.

This was a replacement for the same clock that broke. This one is lighter

in its construction. The light alarm is not nearly as bright in its flash

and the buzz alarm is an electric buzz instead of a bell. Liked the one

I bought 5 years ago much better.

Updated 8/30/11. So I recieved my refund. Less $8.31. Restocking fee? For a broken item that was owned less than a month? What a disappointment.

I liked this clock, but the alarm stopped working after 4 weeks. Now I am waiting for my refund. :(

My wife has wanted one of these for years and finally got one for Christmas.

Within a day it had lost 5 minutes. The alarm time (as noted in other reviews) is only an approximation. Carefully set for 7:00, it buzzes somewhere between 6:45 and 7:15, and not consistantly. The alarm light does not work. Who performed quality control on this thing? We'll be sending this one back for replacement in hopes this example was a lemon.

My BIGGEST complaint is the clock comes with a big warning sticker telling you the setting knobs (both time and alarm) must only be turned one way, as indicated by the arrows on the back, to avoid damaging the mechanism. I don't know about you, but none of my old analog clocks required you to turn the hands one way only. In addition, I'm just lazy enough to want to reach around the clock and turn the adjustment knobs without looking at them. Gosh, I sure hope I don't inadvertantly spin them the wrong way and wreck the clock...especially at this price.

I note this clock is made in China and feels cheaply made.

Dave

UPDATE: We've had the replacement clock for about 2 months now, and it is acceptably accurate. I have upgraded this review to 2 stars as the clock still retains the cheap feel and restrictive alarm setting requirements; but more important, this has a most annoying alarm. For a clock designed to sooth you awake, this one makes you grind your teeth. My wife uses another clock as her alarm, but keeps this one on the nightstand because she likes the "retro" look.

Still only two stars, but that's a 100% improvement over my initial assessment.
