Want a cheap phone and inexpensive service?

Only use a cell phone for brief conversations?

Then I can recommend this phone with Net10 service.

I've had better phones, like the Samsung Gleam, however, I'm now paying $15.00 per month instead of $44.00 per month for the same type of usage.

The phone itself is very functional and the menus are adequate. My biggest pet peeve with this phone coupled with Net10 service is that the browser button is the same for the back key and exit key. Press it a third time and you get a charge for the Web browser. Seems like a cheap money maker for Net10.

Talking to people seems to be fine. I don't discern any problems with quality or quantity when talking to people.

I had bought the LG620G and hated it as the browser button was getting pressed even when it was in my pocket. I envisioned 3 or 4 hours of browser time without knowing it.

I switched that phone for the Motorola since it is a flip phone and must be opened to be able to get hosed by the browser button.

BTW: A Warning-if you switch phones with Net10 service, be prepared for an hour or two talking to customer service.

So, if you like an inexpensive phone with a cheap plan then I would recommend the Motorola W408g

This is the worst phone I've ever owned. I don't know what's more shocking, the quality of the phone, or the fact that Motorola put their name on it and sells it. I have nothing good to say about it. If you're looking for a phone in this price range check out the LG320G. It is much more reliable and has a much better user interface. This motorola phone does have bluetooth and a camera, but with a phone as crappy as this those features are pretty pointless...

1) It has horrible input lag. Press a button and it takes nearly half a second or more to respond.

2) It is poorly made. The battery cover and battery fall off with just a small drop.

3) The user interface is utterly ridiculous. Useful things like alarm clock, calendar, camera and calculator are buried as much as 4 menus deep. This is doubly frustrating because of the horrendous input lag.

4) It has horrible reception. I've had quite a few phones in this price range, but this is the only one I usually have to go outside to use.

5) If you try to send text message but close the phone before the *second* pop up alert appears telling you it has been "sent," (yes, it pops up twice), the text message does not get sent, and the only indication of this is the number of message in your outbox increases by 1. You have to go and manually send it again. This has caused me drama on multiple occasions.

6) Sometimes the phone loses signal and won't get it back until it is turned off and on again. The input lag can make this incredibly challenging if you're in a hurry. You have to press the power button for an extended period of time to turn the phone on or of. It is easy to inadvertently set it to turn off before you receive any indication that it is turning on. Sadly I literally spent a half hour in this cycle trying frantically to get in touch with my girlfriend who was waiting for me.

7) Even when the display shows a strong signal, calls frequently fail to connect.

We were Verizon customers for many years because of their family plan and good service. We decided to switch to NET10 to save some money. We don't need to access our email or have any of the other services that the big 3 have to offer. We only need a phone to make calls. The Moto w408G phone is just OK. It is adequate for people that only make occasional calls like we do. The phone lacks a lot of features that the expensive phones have, but the quality of the reception is as good as my other phones. If you want to send a lot of text messages don't get this phone. The phones with a QWERTY keyboard is certainly much better. We signed up for the NET10 "Easy Minutes" for $15 month for 200 minutes, just what we need. Saves us about $50-$55 a month for 2 phones.

This phone is perfect for my wife, who is unfortunately, scared to use the smart phones that are so popular these days.

The phone is simple to use,has number keys that are easy to read and select. The phone has a fairly good camera and

takes very good video's as well. I would recommend this phone to anyone who does not like all the bells and whistles

that most phones have today.

Wow, you just don't expect a car DVD screen to have such sharp colors. I was thoroughly amazed at the beautiful picture excellent touch-screen controls. The screen telescopes out nice and freely, then its pretty darned stable and sturdy. It has all the functions you could possibly want in this one little unit, and sounds good to boot. The front panel looks pretty sharp, too, with the lit-up controls. Just excellent.

Got this a few months ago and initially had some problems, enough so that I got a RMA number from the seller. After resetting a few times the unit works great. Handlels every cd/dvd I put in, bluetooth is working, backup camera is fine, and the sound is great. Was gonna bash this, but can't, navigation is up to date it seems. Shows some streets not to old, solid. May be taking a chance, but better than the cost of a higher end unit, that may have some user difficulties also. Solid 5 star here...YMMV.

This unit is packed with a lot of features. I doubt I will ever play any games while I'm driving, but the navigation comes in handy plus it can actually approximate the speed your going so it's easy to help understand if your speedometer is calibrated right. I am having some trouble getting the bluetooth phone hooked up. I'll have to play with it some more. The large screen does give you a good view if you hook up a backup camera to it. I put this in my 69 Chevelle SS, so its cool to have a muscle car with the newest high tech gadgets!

I'll keep this simple

the good-

the retro appearance is great

plays flash drive

bass control on rear of unit

sound is nice, volume is more than adequate

color coordinated remote

songs can be erased on flash drive using remote control

unit records to flash drive-though I haven't actually used this feature yet

the ok

some items that would be nice on the remote are only on the actual unit-such as displaying song title or artist and setting type of play -as in shuffle/random play

radio reception is adequate--nothing to get excited about-nothing to squawk about

mp3 and wma are the only files read from flash-no problem for me as I only use mp3-but some may be expecting more such as Flac

the not so good

limited to 999 files on flash drive--a good number of songs--but makes playing from mp3 players with a large number of songs not fully possible(via usb portable players can play through this unit-though flash drives seem to work better) -and there are a large number of flash drives that are relatively cheap and able to hold more than this number of songs relatively easily

when shut down and restarted-the flash drive reverts to song #1--I've found no way to have the last song saved in memory--display need reset each time the unit is restarted as well (artist, song title etc)

all in all-a decent litte stereo--a few things could be better but I was mainly interested in the appearance as I have a retro room in my house and it's perfect for that purpose-and performance is acceptable. I use a mini usb drive with no flashing light as to remain unobtrusive and though limited to 999 songs-that is still a fairly good library-though I had hoped to fill the drive with more oldies but goodies than I am able to

The limitations file wise and the lack of some controls on the remote are the only reason I give this a 4 instead of a 5-but I am still pleased with this purchase and recommend it to anyone wanting a retro/nostalgic look

I still have a reel-to-reel player in the closet made by Teac. It's probably a good 35 years old and worked like a champ. That's why when I saw this was made by the same company, I highly recommended it for my mom to buy when she wanted a retro-style radio.

After waiting two weeks for it to be delivered [Amazon was right on the ball about that], we opened it up, sat it on mom's counter. Looked GOOD. The retro style was really cute and at 14 pounds, felt like a solid, well-built item. A few days later she decides to turn it on. Radio, cd, whatever she could get. Not one darn thing. According to her grandson, it appears they forgot to hook the speakers up. No sound whatsoever, no matter what function. Major bummer.

We packed it up and sent it on the way back. Too bad. I hope others who order it don't find the same problem.

I know know this is pricey for a RADIO but it is cheaper than 3 Bose units. The sound is great and it looks very classy . I got it for my wife for Christmas and couldn't wait . She loves it... I am a hero. There are plenty of inputs and a base boost control for a really rich base. The MP3 input is on the front so if you plug something into it it will protrude .

I have this product for 4 years.

The Design is very cool and it sounds nice for mini stereo but other than that I don't recommend buying this product.

1) CD I hardly used any CD for music. The product was used mainly for Radio listening. I used the CD function hardly 10 times in the last 4 years. Now its no longer reads any CD's I put.

2) Buttons Doesn't always work. Sometimes they do, sometimes not. Depends on your (or mine) luck. Good thing the remote is still working ok, otherwise this machine would go down the toilet.

3) Radio I use FM stereo and some of my stations doesn't sounds clear at all, while on others they sounds perfectly fine.

Looking back for this price I would go for real companies like Denon or Onkyo.

This speaker gave me what I wanted. Small, easy to use and good sound, reasonable price. I had searched for a new room speaker that would work with my Gen4 iPod touch because my old speakers didn't work with gen 4. This unit also has an aux in and a pretty blue lite running the length of the speaker.

I bought two of these to supplement my Uniden Tru8888 after researching compatibility. While the software driving these phones has much of the interface of the TCX805/Tru888x line, I'll cut my stars accordingly for the Tru888x line. Comments about this expansion handset:

The four-way joystick-like button is a blessing. The up-down buttons on the TCX805 are OK but the left-right buttons fail to work when editing a number in the phone book especially to add the 1 before an area code. They instead add # and *. Here, you don't have to re-type the whole number, just move where you want with the joystick. The odd but subsequently convenient Space typed by right-arrowing in text is gone, apparently replaced by the character range on zero, one of which is a space. Operation in low light is a lot easier with the big joystick button.

Two numbers per phonebook entry seems to be new here, and I like it.

The quality of sound, range and the clarity of the speakerphone on the handset remain excellent.

They seem to mate to a TCX805 charger but don't seem to fit in right. So if you have a mix, don't interchange their charger bases.

I like the overall feel and I prefer using the 905's in the bedrooms (where you might have to use them in the dark) and the 805 remains in the living room.

I'll update with my experiences as I continue to use them. For now, the TCX905 gets all five stars.

Good phone for the price. I have a CLX485 base. A matching extension phone (TCX440) costs almost $100. This phone is only $30 from Amazon (including shipping). It couples easily with my base & TCX440. I upload my Outlook phone file to the TCX440 than sent the phone files to the TCX905. The TCX440 permits 4 phone numbers per person, the TCX905 permits only 2 phone numbers per person. However, the TCX905 handles any phone numbers above 2 in an intelligent way it creates an additional listing with the same name containing the additional numbers - SMART!! I agree with a previous reviewer that this phone is even better than the more expensive TCX805 model.

However, it does have its faults.

1. You must manually edit all phone numbers requiring a 1 prefix. The phone knows its area code (part of the setup menu). Instead of automatically adding a 1 to all phone numbers out of your area code, it makes you edit each and every out of town number. STUPID!!

2. I found an insidious quirk. I have 7 doctors' phone numbers. I preface each doctor's name with "Dr". This keeps all doctors names in one area easy to find. Unfortunately, it drops the last doctor's entry when transferring numbers from the base. No fault is generated; it indicates that the transfer is successful. You think that all phone numbers are transferred. The problem was corrected by changing one preface from "Dr" to "Doc". Apparently, a max of 6 entries can have the same first 2 letters. Anything above 6 is just ignored. STRANGE!!

I have had 2 iterations of their phones w/ at least 6 handsets. ALL had the same failure...the history button on the handset breaks shortly after purchase. I have contacted Uniden, but I got no reply as to either a fix or a plan to fix this problem.

Unless or until they address this failure, I would not buy this phone...if caller history...including redialing a number from the history, is important to you. The corded base unit still has the button working, but not one of the handsets is still working...and they are very gently used.

The Uniden TCX905 offers all the same features as the handsets that came with several other multihandset Uniden phones. It is a solid phone handset, with the 5.8 gigahertz frequency ranking as one of this phone's greatest attractions. I have found that I can stray a good distance from the base and it will still function normally. My home and yard are not huge but I still had problems with fading signals with my older phone. I often had to reposition myself if I was outside in order to get my old cordless phone to receive the signal. But with Uniden TCX905, there is no need to reposition myself or the phone. The signal is still clear, even when I am standing in the corner of my property.

The LCD display on the Uniden TCX905 is nice. It isn't very large but it lights up in an orange color and it shows many bits of information, like the date and time, the phone number and name of a caller (when an incoming call is trying to ring through), a battery charge indicator, an indicator telling you the number of different caller id's that have come through; and an indicator telling you which handset you are using (you can program each one with its own number). The LCD contrast and the ring volume can be adjusted on each handset, making it customizable per room. You can even change the display to read in English, Spanish, or French.

Uniden TCX905 is compatible with many different Uniden phone systems. But in order for this expansion handset to work, it must first be programmed with your main phone. This requires entering specific code numbers into your main phone's base unit. If you do not program, the phone will not work. Programming is simple (instructions are included for programming into different main phones) and it must be completed or the phone will be worthless.

There are only a few things about the Uniden TCX905 phone that are deserving of criticism. First, it can get a little tedious trying to program new names and numbers and one needs to be careful not to get carried away because it can take a long time to get everything programmed just right (using abbreviations is a good idea, to speed up the process). Second, I don't like the flashing red light in the upper left hand corner of each handset. This is a charge indicator that lets you know the phone is charged and ready to go. There is nothing wrong with letting consumers know this, but to have a light that continuously flashes can be a tremendous distraction. Third, the base is small and light and it can easily get knocked off the table or desk on which it rests. Fourth, I would prefer a plug that didn't have a block attached to it. This makes it easy to grip, but it also means the plug has to be inserted a certain way or it will partially cover the electrical outlet directly underneath it.

Overall, in spite of a few inconveniences, I am still satisfied with the purchase of my Uniden TRX905 handset and I may add another one or two handsets like it in the future. They sell for a reasonable price and they are compatible with many different Uniden phones. Clear sound, slim design, and countless features make this auxiliary phone a nice addition to any Uniden household in need of extra phone units.

I added two more uniden handsets to my existing uniden system. Easy to add handsets to system. Phone reception and clarity is awesome. Only need one phone jack to connect up to 10 phones. Phone has great features. I recommend this system highly.
