The clock was due to arrive in the mail today so I went back to the page and looked at it again ... this time noticing the clock was projecting military time on the ceiling. I hoped there would be a way to change that and, after reading the instructions, there is a way to change it, sooooo, whew.

Reading further it seems that the clock does NOT come with an ac adapter (plug in.) That's right, it runs on THREE triple-A batteries (also not included.)

Reading further I find that the "projector" is not constantly on when running on battery power. (Note: I later found out that NOTHING on the clock looks like it is on when it's running on battery power.) You have to press a button on the clock and then the projector (and the regular display) comes on for eight seconds.

The projector IS constantly on if you use the AC adapter (where do you GET this adapter?) Nothing in the instructions or elsewhere clues me in. It's a 4.5 volt adapter ... that's all it tells you. I"m guessing an adapter isn't really like a charger so there probably aren't a lot of other factors involved so I hope to be able to find one of these at Radio Shack or something.

I haven't even fired up the clock yet but I wanted to write this review to alert people to things I missed by being in a rush.

When I put in the order, the company, "BrainyTrade USA," was out of them and they sent me an email letting me know that they'd have one in a couple of days and they wanted to know if that would be ok ... and if I allowed that then they would send me an "all-in-one" card reader. I told them that would be fine and they shipped the clock two days later (as promised) and included the card reader. I feel like I would buy something from them again.

------

Ok, I bought the adapter ($15.) I started setting the various options per the instructions but the instructions aren't perfectly clear about things. For example, it says "press 'mode and 'up' to set ... but it does not tell you to release the mode button when you start pressing the 'up' button. A couple of other things like that could be clearer but I figured it out with some trial and error.

This clock shows the humidity and temperature (as if I care.) Right now the humidity says "LL" and I have no idea what that means. Right now I'm in an air conditioned room and it's about 72 degrees. The temperature is showing 105.8 Fahrenheit ... that's 41 degrees centigrade/celsius. Perhaps the AC adapter is affecting its reading ... who knows ... I didn't buy a clock for the humidity and temperature. It also has some bars on it showing some +/info but I couldn't work up the interest to find out what they were.

I put batteries in the clock as well just to see if the batteries would take over in case of a power outage. Answer: Yes ... but, since the batteries start running the clock, the display is not lit ... so you have to press the "light button" to even see what time it is. UPDATE: about a week later the power went off but the batteries did NOT sustain the clock settings ... so I had to reset it.

On the bright side ... I really like the clock so far. The projector is bright enough to see the time (on the ceiling )even when the light in the room is on. With my other clock it has to be really dark before you can see the projector time on the ceiling. UPDATE: About two weeks later, the bright display on the clock is dim and unreadable in the light. However, the ceiling projector is still working fine.

CONCLUSION: After paying for the clock and the adapter I had about $30 in it ... and two-three weeks later it doesn't work properly. No, I would NOT buy it again.

This clock turns on with batteries, however it will not stay lit up unless it is plugged into the wall. The cord for this to happen does not come included. A waste of money.

The clock was a present for two sisters, however; both clocks were difficult to set up, so the gift was not what I expected and cosidering sending them back.

This clock looks great on your nightstand but don't try to stop the alarm or it will be on the floor. Poorly supported and it has a small button to light up the display and/or stop the alarm, hard to find when you're awaken from a sound sleep. Still haven't figured out what the colorful line display at the bottom is for. Got it because it also displays the humidity in addition to time, date and temp. Problem is the humidity doesn't display accurately until well after it changes. During a rainstorm recently it indicated the humidity as 27%. Not happy with the design and display functions but as I stated, it looks nice.

Projection only on when you press snooze button. I have no use for this clock because of lack of this function.
