I have used scanning digital radios before (cheaper than this one) and didn't have this problem. At first I thought it was a reception problem, but when it happened on strong signals as well as weak, and seemingly at random, I knew there was no hope for this radio.
I like the neckstrap and I use it with a different radio.

I experienced the same station-jumping that other users compained about. It just won't stick to a station. Also, mine broke after three months of light use. You get what you pay for.Read Best Reviews of Coby CX61 Mini FM Scanner Radio with Neck Strap Here
The sound is a bit distoted, radio reception is OK. But the headphone cable is too short. The most anoying is that there is now way to keep the unit from changing stations at the slightest touch, CDs and iPods have a hold switch, this item keep going ot the next station with no way to lock it to a station. Also it does not store presets.Want Coby CX61 Mini FM Scanner Radio with Neck Strap Discount?
It's great. Lightweight. However, you can only go forward with changing stations. If you go by a station you cannot go back but have to go to the beginning on the FM dial and scan upwards again. Occasionally, station signals will fail and the nearest station will come on. Perhaps it may be where I am located inside the health club. Don't know....but the radio serves the initial purpose while I am on the treadmill.i bought this little radio for work. i tried it out at home first it was just "ok". when you find the station you want and you turn off the radio you have to do a search all over again to find your station. it will NOT return to the last station it was on. when i got to work with my new toy it did not work at all inside the building. what a waiste of money.
