The unit is louder than my previous receivers and it appears that the materials used to make it will last longer in the harsh marine environment. The unit does come with a remote which works great and is super convenient. I would recommend this unit for anyone who will be using the radio in a marine environment.The unit worked great while in the driveway, then it was eratic with the sound coming from the speaker section of the unit. Doubled checked the wiring & it definitely was inside the unit. Bought this in the early spring & installed it early spring. Return was just not worth the time due to the % of refund limited for the return ( more than 30 days) Would not recommend this item to no one. Look @ other units before you purchase this one.
