I am so happy that I bit the bullet and spent the money on this radio for my bedroom. The sound quality is outstanding. It sounds so good that when I set it up and tried playing some Enya music on it, I sat there for the next hour just enjoying the music. The sound is very precise, defined, realistic and rich sounding. All of the functions are intuitive and easy to use. The function menus are laid out well, and the iPod interface is perfect. Talk radio on NPR is more enjoyable, audiobooks more engaging, and my music more relaxing due to the rich precise sound of my new favorite radio. For how much I use this now and the added enjoyment it brings, I feel it has been worth every penny I spent over a cheaper unit. The unit also resonates quality and seems to be built very well. Best of all this radio is made in the USA with mostly USA made parts by fellow Americans who pay taxes and social security here. That was the icing on the cake. In fact when I called the company to get information before my purchase, the guy I talked to sounded almost apologetic that some of the parts used had to be imported because they were not available domestically. He also told me that they test each and every unit for all of its functions as well as running it for 24 hours before they ship it out. Everything about this company seems to exude quality. If you want to invest in something you will enjoy for a long time, as well as support U.S. workers, this radio will not disappoint.

So the title says it all. I really shopped this around. I was all set to buy the comparable Bose product, but then I realized that the aux-in method of connecting an iPhone/iPod to the Bose really reduced the volume and quality of the signal going in to that radio. The sound on the Cue is extraordinary. I admit that the price is high. I bought the unit with the satellite speaker. But, I believe, you get what you pay for.

I have the white unit with the added speaker in my Kitchen. You can not ask for better sound from a clock radio. Sometimes we take the unit outside and everyone who hears it is amazed. It is not altered to sound good like the bose unit I had before. It has clear and accurate sound with out having to add fake bass. I do think there is a break in period because it sounds even better now that I have played the unit for a few weeks. The radio sound is good, but not compared to the Ipod which is clearly better. The radio is not the best at pulling in stations, I expected better from a radio costing around $500. The controls are nicely positioned but not the simplest to use since some of the menus you need to access often such as shuffle songs which takes a few click to get to. The system response is a little slow. The center button is a little hard to push in and causes the unit to slide back when pressed. I gave it 5 stars because it is very well built, looks great, very compact, speaker grills can be easily removed, high sound quality.
