UPDATED review: This is not a clock radio, it is a pure non-repeating alarm clock, with one alarm for those who like to keep it simple. It has two levels of a chirping alarm, which increases in frequency if you don't hit the 'alarm off' button. You can throw away the instructions as it is easy to set. One morning after about 3 1/2 months, however, it died, no time display, nothing, Kaput! Which gives it the one star rating!

This alarm clock is very easy to set and operate. It comes with instructions but you probably won't need them.

It does everything I want an alarm clock to do, and it doesn't annoy me by being overly complicated. The numerical keypad is a great idea. If you often change the time of your alarm this feature is really convenient.

The alarm volume and the display brightness are adjustable, and there's a battery backup in case of power failure.

All this at a reasonable price. Works for me!

Does not live up to its description.

Main issue is the alarm, which--even at its loudest--is too soft to be heard unless you are a very light sleeper (I am not).

The dimming capacity does not make that much difference; it is still brighter than necessary.

The clock is supposed to be easy to set, but I do not find it is any less complicated or troublesome than any other such devices. In fact, because the controls are all black, on a black background, it is nearly impossible to see them except under bright light.

Altogether, a very disappointing product from an old company that has a reputation for being dependable.

The best Alarm Clock I ever had to set alarm often at different times. (And it is only easy to set up if you push the right buttons :-)

The worst Alarm Clock I ever had (for me): it wakes to Soft or Loud Buzzer NOT loud enough: even "Loud" will buzz and buzz continuously and after an hour might wake me up.

If it were much louder --like most alarm clocks- it would be perfect.

Instead I must regretfully return it.

As expected, this clock is much easier to set than the usual "hold the button and watch it count up" type.

The labels on the buttons could be bigger. I fixed that by painting the buttons with white-out and writing on them myself with a marker pen.

The alarm is supposed to start soft and increase in loudness, but this crescendo effect is weak or non-existent when the alarm volume is set to low. I was disappointed there, but not enough to subtract a star.

Also, sometimes you have to hold a button for several seconds before it engages. This is understandable on dual-purpose buttons, but the "SET ALARM" is not dual-purpose. Let's make it 4.75 stars rounded up to 5.

The digits are big and bright. No problem at all seeing them in full light.

Snooze is 9 or 10 minutes, not the 5 minutes that I'd prefer. Hmm, 4.51 stars rounded up to 5.
