- Dual alarm clock system with AM/FM radio and dock for iPod
- Bedtime Beats exclusive sound soothing music to helpyou sleep at night
- Wake and sleep to your iPod
- Stereo sound
- Universal dock for charging/playing your iPod
Alarms Not only does the clock radio have 2 alarms you can set, but it also works with alarms set on the iPhone itself.
I also like the fact you can dim the lighted display with a push of the snooze button. So if you don't like the grow from the clock you can dim it or turn it off completely.
UPDATE 2 years later and this clock is still going strong. Works with my iPhone4 too. I love knowing I will wake up to a full charged phone every morning.

So far, I've really enjoyed this alarm clock. My favorite feature is the "fail safe" feature when using the iPod. It worked out well when I had the alarm set to iPod and the iPod had slipped out of it's insert. The buzzer still came on. Also, the "going to sleep" options are very nice. My only complaint is that there are so many features, that it was a bit complicated to learn and trust (why I took away one star). Now that I've gotten to know the features, I've really enjoyed going to sleep and waking up to this device!Read Best Reviews of Timex T172G Dual Alarm Clock with AM/FM Radio and iPod Dock (Silver) Here

The unit works as designed although FM reception requires adjustment of wire antenna. Some stations can be hard to tune in to. Unit does not have any radio presets. The tuning is controlled by an old style analog dial but the display reads out in digital. Locking onto a station can be a little tricky. Not sure if the unit has PLL (phase lock loop) tuning. To select a mode (radio, iPod, etc.) you have to cycle through each, there aren't buttons for each mode. Although if you plug in the iPod when it is playing the unit starts up automatically. Dimming feature has four settings, I found the lowest to be OK for nighttime use. The unit has battery back up via two AA's, the batteries come installed in the unit so plan on having two AA's as they will be dead from sitting on the shelf. I did not find any evidence of battery leakage. It's an OK unit but not as good as my older Timex T600B which is no longer available.I bought this clock radio for two reasons: the exceptionally clear Timex Indiglo display, and the fact that I can dock an iPod to it. I was surprised to find that it has several nature sounds and continuous music tracks that you can play to mask out other sounds like traffic, etc. and help you fall asleep. (I see the listing now mentions this feature.)On the negative side, it was promoted as having good sound, and it's really just fair. The AM reception is not so hot, compared with other clock radios I have. And I have to keep the display at its lowest brightness, or else it lights up the whole room. My previous Timex Indiglo radio faded over time, so maybe that will be the case here, too.
