I've been using this unit for past five months and have been pleasantly surprised by it. You get two different alarms, 5 minute snooze option, and the sound is very clear. It charges my iPod overnight so when I go jugging in morning I always have full charge. USB and Aux inputs are also very handy. All in all I would not change mine with even a more expensive unit.I had done a lot of searching for a clock/radio iPOD dock. This one was at a great price. I'm not hard to please and wanted this play music at a low volume in my office. It does the job just fine. I have found that the remote will stop working for short periods of time. If I let it sit for awhile, it will work again. Not a big deal though; the iPOD dock is only an arm's length away. I've enjoyed it so far. It does what I wanted it to do.Want Maxx Digital iEMX262 Digital Executive AM/ FM Clock Radio with iPod Dock - Black Discount?
Given the price, I was very pleasantly surprised by good this clock/player is. Although it's certainly not Bose/Apple-quality, it's not at all cheap looking, solidly put together, and sound quality is more than acceptable. It's easy to use, with a straightforward button layout on the device and remote. I'm using it with an iPhone 4, and it works great, although it does trigger the pointless "This device is not made for iPhone" message.I got this for my office, and have a Sony speaker/dock/clock combo at home, and I'm really considering replacing it with this one, since I can put my alarm playlist on an SD card, and not have to worry about queuing up the right playlist every night before I go to bed. This clock radio appeared to have all the features we neededipod dock, dimmable display, headphone jack, alarm, and radio. It's a nice size and the sound is fine for a bedroom. My husband uses an under the pillow speaker so he can listen to talk radio at night, so having a headphone jack is mandatory. After an exhaustive search I was thrilled to find this unit which has everything I was looking for, mainly a headphone jack and a display that can be dimmed.
There are two issues with this unit that have me perplexed. The first is that the alarm doesn't work when the radio is turned on. We leave the radio playing all night through the headphone jack, and the alarm will not turn on while the radio is turned on. It doesn't make any noise through the headphones (actually the speaker that is plugged into that jack) or the external speakers. We've had numerous other clock radios with headphone jacks and they all made their regular alarm sounds externally.
The second issue is that the display that is dimmable turns on full blast when the radio is playing. It is bright enough for me to read by. That is way too bright for me. We now balance our tv remote on top of the light at night. The time doesn't show when the radio is playing, just a display that says the radio is on.
We're keeping the unit and using it as a nighttime radio, and we have had to start using a second alarm clock for the alarm feature. This wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I ordered this new clock radio. The price is amazing for this unit, but it was a bit disappointing that it didn't work the way I thought it would.
