This is a well-made and solid performing radio. I find the sensitivy of all bands to be exemplary. I especially like the plug-in AM antenna module. The built-in ferrite antenna is pretty typical for radios of this size but performance rises considerably with the module and it allows you to adjust for direction without having to move the whole radio.

I also appreciate the good ergonomics of the radio. Unlike some recent radios, it also provides sophisticated features and controls in a simple fashion without requiring you to go back to the manual to remember how to do it. While it lacks dedicated memory buttons, the dial-up memory system is virtually as good, with the advantage of far more memories

The external USB connector allows charging of batteries from a computer. I was also able to use it with my Kindle charger with and without batteries. So essentially it could be used as a mains powered radio. However battery use picks up less noise.

I bought the silver model as a second radio after I already owned a black version. For whatever reason the silver did not come with the USB connecting cord which came with the black model. The seller insists it is not standard. So factor the cost of this into the slver model or buy the black one. Except for the color, both radios look and perform identically.
