I have bought many products through Amazon and yet this is the first time I have felt the urge to leave a review.

If you are looking for natural studio reference quality sound reproduction with style and simplicity, you have now found it.

True stereo sound from one beautifully designed enclosure and no wires!

One remote control handles all functions.

This unit plays CDs, I-Pods and I-Phones and will accept connection to all other manner of inputs. The only drawback is that the built in FM radio antenna does not receive strong stereo signals but why bother when you can play any world radio station through an I-Phone with a wi-fi connection and charge your phone at the same time. I have not switched on my expensive high-end music system since buying the Genevasound. The speaker enclosures are a wonder to hear and also look great.

Very highly recommended.

OK, I'll admit my wife was not ecstatic when my sixteen-year-old son and I appeared at the door with this amazing stereo.

We spoke quality, she saw red. We spoke piece of art, she saw red. We spoke sound, she saw red. When she heard it play she admitted it was the best stereo system we had ever owned, but ... "did it have to be red?" Our answer, "yes." This color announces that there is something special in the room and I can assure you that the Geneva XL gets noticed. Every single guest is drawn to it and insists on both seeing and hearing it in action. The XL does not disappoint. Everything is sexy and sleek, and simplicity reigns supreme. There are no clunky controls or panel of unnecessary knobs, just a stylish remote control that provides everything you need. The Geneva's sound is rich beyond expectation and crystal clear, no matter what the volume. At its peak, while the floors may throb, there is never distortion.

We would definitely buy another one. We have heard that the Geneva XL is also available in white and black. If so, please don't tell my wife. She would see red.

What GenevaSound says is true. The sound quality is the best of all the iPod capable units. The stereo separation is also excellent, even with the single box. I have also used the XL as main audio output for a flat-panel TV and Blu-Ray player. It also excels at this task as well. My only request is that I would like to have more bass. To be fair, this is more a personal taste issue than a limitation of the system. For friends who have listened to the system, the bass is plenty. The other response from first-time listeners is "How can that great sound come from that small size cabinet". After listening, they answer their own question.

I bought this unit in Canada in 2006 for $1000-ah inflation! I have to say the sound quality is stunning and the Ipod playback is amazing sound quality for movies is also good although limited by the stereo in put as oppossed to a scarp plugI don't know if this has been changed in later models.

Concerning problemsmy CD player brokewould input and play a CD but NOT eject it and make an awful clicking sound sent the unit to BAY BLOOR RADIO who I saw had one in there window (note I bought this unit direct from Geneva and not from Bay/Bloor originally) and it was fixed and returned for $300 in 4 weeks which I thought was pretty amazingsince then I have had NO problems with the unit and it is used everyday easily for 1-2 hours. From what I have read on these websites it seems that customer service with Geneva is not the greatest in terms of returning the unit/ getting it fixed ifyou end up with problems but the unit itself is amazing (yes the remote is a little hickey because its infa red and you have to be in direct line of sightyou can't bounce a signal off the walls like you can with the newer remotes so a large or odd shaped home can cause problems) BUT for a sound system that is amazing and stunning (and for the price) this unit can't be beat!

Also the red lacquer is greata friend has a black XLlooks like a b;ack hole and white just seems a little dull to mecome on be differentget the RED one 11 ;-)

I purchased my GenevaSound XL three and a half years ago, and set it up in my basement, in front of an elliptical machine. I thought that it would be perfect for listening to iPod music while I ellipted. And so it has been. The sound has great clarity and presence, even at high volume. I found the stereo separation to be less distinct than in my systems that have two or three speakers, but it is better than adequate, and finding places for separate units (and running the wires along the ceiling) would have been a major hassle. The remote is reliable and easy to use. I can adjust whatever I wish without stepping off the elliptical. Unlike that of another reviewer, my experience with the GenevaSound's radio reception has been stellar (using the antenna that was included), even in the basement of a brick building with limestone foundations. Two years ago, I built up the support structure to raise the unit and placed a 46" LCD monitor on top of it. It has functioned wonderfully as a cinema sound system. When the movie audio is not well engineered, I boost the treble and lower the bass to pull out the dialogue, without losing a stride. The GenevaSound XL was not inexpensive. But divided by 1,000+ hours, the difference in cost (compared to lesser systems) per unit of time is negligible. And at no time has its sound quality and functionality failed to satisfy me.
