Pros: Speakers are on top, and have great sound.
Volume range is loud, but not too loud.
Alarm and clock are very easy to set, and it comes with easy to follow instructions.
2 alarm sets.
Snooze conveniently located.
A sleep feature so you can fall asleep to music, and it will turn off after the amount of minutes that you choose.
20 presets for radio stations.
Battery back up in case of power outage
Cons: Can only have either Buzz, Ipod or Radio as the alarm. There isn't an option for Ipod and later an alarm buzz in case the Ipod doesn't wake you.
Flimsy Ipod connection.
Loose power source connection.
I enjoy this Docking system, and I am glad I ordered it.

This would be a great product but for one deal-breaker: when you play the radio, the display shows the station call numbers and not the time. While playing an iPod, the display reverts back to the time; the same is not the case then using the radio. This feature makes the device pretty useless when being used as an alarm. You wake up to the sound of your alarm, but can't tell what time it is.Read Best Reviews of Philips AJ7030D/37 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Alarm Clock Speaker Dock Here
This iPod/iPhone clock radio from Philips has been a pleasant surprise. We had an iPod speaker stand in our kitchen for the better part of two years, and we've replaced it with this Philips clock radio, which is about one-quarter the size and still has a terrific sound to it, clear, a loud, crisp high-end, and still clear at lower volumes. It is very easy to use, and I love that it recharges our iPods. It seems to work on iPods AND iPhones of all sizes and generations as well. My wife has a 2nd gen iPod Touch, and I have a 3rd gen of the same, so that's good to know.It is an attractive way of displaying your iPod, but it's still attractive when you don't have your iPod attached to it. The radio is great; it comes with a wire antenna which I was able to invisibly loop behind our kitchen devices and feed to a spot on the window; we live in a fairly rural area, and the radio was still able to identify 18 presets. The radio controls are great; it is easy to move by incremental small steps between presets, or go straight to the next preset. While the presets are numbered, there are no number preset buttons, just an up-to-the-next or down-to-the-previous preset control that works perfectly.
I like that there is a way to have the clock sync with the iPod to go by the iPod's set time. The "source" button easily allows you to go to radio, iPod, or an alternate input source (I'm thinking about linking the TV in the other room to the audio input jack as it is an open environment and might be nice to have while cooking).
So far, we haven't had a need to use the two alarm settings because we've chosen to use it in the kitchen, but it actually provides us a new option for those days when my wife or I might want to take a nap on the couch upstairs. Until now, when we've wanted to do so, we've set the timer on the microwave! A cool feature I didn't notice right away is the fact that there is a sleep option, too; you can fall asleep with tunes or calming sounds and the feature shuts off automatically after a preset amount of time.
At about $65, this is not a cheap item, but it really has delivered in every way I'd hoped. If you are looking for a nice gadget for your iPod, I definitely recomend this product.

From time to time this clock goes mad: it stops at 11:59 PM and does not advance to 12:00 AM. This happens about once in a month. So if you want to wake up on time then you have to go to bed after midnight to see if clock is working or stuck.Only disconnecting the power cord helps (thankfully the battery's already gone in one day, I even don't want to look for replacement).
Operation is quite complex. To set something you have to look into user manual every time. This is very opposite to Apple ideology.
Radio and iPod sound is good for this size. This is probably the only good thing.Twice this clock has been stuck at 11:59pm on a workday, and of course it's not noticed until I wake up late for work. And naturally this doesn't happen until AFTER the return policy has expired. Not happy; will be searching for a new alarm clock pronto.

Edit 4/10/12: I contacted Philips support, and they were very understanding about my problem and wanted to help. They sent me another AJ7030D with instructions on returning my defective clock. I didn't have to pay a cent for shipping, nor was I without an alarm clock at any time. One month later, I'm having no problems with the new clock (and keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way!).
