This system is just what I was looking for when I purchased my iPad 2. Not only does it fit the iPad 2 but also my iPhone 4 too! At first I was concerned because there are no inserts as referenced in "read this first" card in box. However, IPad2, IPod Shuffle 4, IPhone work fine without inserts.Want iHome iD9 App-Friendly 30-Pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Speaker Dock Discount?
After reading the excellent reviews here, I bought this dock primarily for use with my Ipad2. Once I set it up, however, I struggled to get the Ipad onto the docking connector for about 10 minutes before asking my tech-savvy 23 year son to try. It even frustrated him, taking him several tries before he could get the connector in and he immediately pronounced it poorly designed, suggesting I take it back and get something more user-friendly. I looked at the reviews again and noticed some people had ordered inserts from the company and when I contacted iHome, they said they would send them out----but at $4.95 plus shipping! Why they say it is compatible with Ipad2 when you need an insert which is not provided is a mystery to me but my warning is that if you are looking for a dock which connects easily to your Ipad 2, do not choose this one unless they make some changes to the design. I am reluctantly taking it back and looking for something else that doesn't take a lot of fiddling to connect. Unit arrived on time & in good condition. Makes a nice sound for the size & price. We took it with us on vacation to an area with no internet access. Great to be able to use my Itunes library especially since I did the Itunes Match prior to leaving. The only problem is that it does not come with a remote & seems like it can only be purchased thru iHome for an extra $20!! Will probably order that soon before it becomes "unavailable" ................
