JVC Home NXPN10 10W iPod iPhone Audio System (Black)

JVC Home NXPN10 10W iPod iPhone Audio System
  • "Dual Play" System that can play and charge two iPods or iPhone 3GS, featuring Motion Sensor, Sound Turbo and FM Tuner.
  • 10W Total Power Source: Tuner, Audio Input Back-Illuminated LCD (White) "Dual Play" ?

Overall, the JVC Home NXPN10 system does what it says it will do, which is to play and charge your ipod/iphone. I used the system with a classic 120 gig ipod and an iPhone 4, and it worked perfectly with both devices. I was able to pause, play, rewind, fast forward, and even scroll through playlists and select playlists with the included remote. I listen to a lot of internet radio, so I was eager to see if the internet radio on my iphone would play though the JVC, which it did flawlessly. The sound is what you would expect from a clock radio, maybe even slightly better than my old clock radio, but nothing spectacular. The digital clock is a little bright at night, but I've quickly gotten used to it. My only complaint is the lack of a battery backup for the clock. Every clock radio I have ever used has had a battery backup in case of power outages, except for this one.If it had battery backup, I would have given it five stars.

I bought this to put on the nightstand to replace our current alarm clock. My wife and I both have iPhone 4's and both have to charge our phones at night. My solution was to find a dual dock stereo/alarm clock. This system fits the bill perfectly. Both iPhones fit perfectly and snugly in the charging aperture. There are separate covers that fold down to protect charging connector when no in use. The directions are pretty straight forward and easy to decipher. The sound is perfect for the bedroom and the remote is easily used throughout the room. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the unit relies on the remote for a lot of its programming and functionality. If the remote breaks or gets lost the unit is almost useless.

My wife and I both have iPhone 4s' and we were wanting a dual charging station to clean up the wires we had going to our end tables plus clock radio/music playing functionality in our bedroom. This product definitely fit the bill. It was a bit smaller than what I expected but also looks cooler that what I expected also. The blue backlight is a really nice touch and gives a neat lighting effect in a darkened room. I read a lot of the reviews on this product and will definitely agree with the button/remote control issue. I suppose the most useful buttons are on the device itself, but if you lose the remote you are completely screwed. You won't be able to set the clock/alarm, dim the lights, or set the sleep timer without it. For a small radio, it sounds pretty good. It fills the room with sound with decent bass. This is not an audiophile quality radio if that's what you need, but if you want a decent sounding radio to go to sleep to and wake up to you will like this one.

Well, it basically does what it says it will.... but it is super annoying!

You have to jump through hoops to get it to show the time.

Everytime you put a phone in the charger the display tells you what phone has been put in, and then just stays that way.

I know what phone has been put in. I just did it.

Then i have to get the remote and tell it that i want to see the time.

Having to do this every time in crazy annoying!

But its next to impossible to find another duel charger that will play music off your phone.
