First of all, a word for those who have the latest gen iPods...

You will not be able to charge them on this clock without some sort of adapter (which will be an extra 25 bucks or so). It is not the fault of the manufacturers, it is Apple's who in their infinite wisdom decided to change how the electrical innards work. Adapters can be purchased to remedy this, and so now I can charge my 2G iPod touch and play music at the same time. This clock has been in the market for at least 2 years. The manufacturer had no way of knowing Apple would make their product not work with the clock.

NOW that that's out of the way the clock is adorable. The speakers are very good, and it does what it's supposed to do. I have a small night stand, so this fits perfectly. With that said, I do have some gripes -

Due to the flat surface of the buttons, it is very hard to figure out what you're actually pushing when lying down in the dark next to the clock. You can not see what you're pushing unless you're looking straight at the buttons. The alarm has a tendency to get louder and continue to get louder, and there's no way to actually prevent this from happening. Also, the clock's display is bright even on the lowest setting. I have it turned away from me when I sleep.

Overall, it's a nice clock and the latter doesn't really bother me that much (and it was also a gift from my boyfriend). If you have a pre September 2008 iPod, this will play and charge it. If you have a new iPod, you're gonna have to look into buying a 25 dollar adapter to charge it. Whether or not it's worth it is totally up to you. :)

It plays the ipod, obvious. The sound is surprisingly clear. bass though is a little weak, but that's because there's no subwofer. if you have a 3g nano, it doesn't do tv out, but you can you the speakers on the clock to watch your videos ;)

does its job as an alarm clock and charger

one problem though: the LCD is backlit entirely, so for those of you who need to sleep in the total dark, this clock is rather bright at night

I got this as a christmas present from my parents and I was unfortunately very disappointed with the quality of this dock. The speakers are not very loud and do not sound crisp and clear. The clock itself runs fast and I have to readjust it every other week to keep it in line with "real" time... it's off by 4 minutes sometimes!!!

I needed a dock with a radio for my desk at work. I wanted the iHome but I can't justify the price of that right now, so I settled for this. It gets decent reception on the radio, and it sounds pretty good, too, but the display is difficult to read. There is not enough contrast between the numbers and the background. Also, for some reason it takes twice as long to charge my iPod than the power cord. Weird.

I was hesitant about this unit before purchasing. I wasn't blown away by it's slightly dated look but I took the chance because so many of the other fancier-looking iPod radios are poorly reviewed. But this item was nice works great sounds good to.

thanks!
