I use this tuner in tandem with whole house audio installations my company performs. It is the lowest cost alternative for a solid tuner with the necessary features (IR, presets). As listed above, the body and lights are terrible, but neither matter to me once it is installed correctly. For those who have problems programming: aim the remote at the device and press "Auto" the unit will add every station it receives as a preset. Write down what they are and use the remote to change between them. This unit is great for permanent installation. Set it and forget it.

I needed a rack-mount tuner and this was one of the only ones I found in the price range. But it didn't fit in my rack...which is a standard broadcast equipment rack. And, good luck figuring out how to program it! It didn't come with any instructions other than how to turn it on. I found some instructions online...poorly translated...and did manage to figure out how to save a pre-set. You have to use the remote to do this. It sure looks cool with all of the lights, but in retrospect, I would pay a little more for a better one.Read Best Reviews of PYLE PT504 Rack Mount AM/FM Digital Tuner with Auto Start Feature Here
More PT504 Tuner Pros:Sensitive reception -pulls in the stations well, unlike my last receiver.
Cons:
The unit doesn't have capacitors that retain the clock time during a power outage or when turned OFF. But the station presets are saved.
The steps for programming are non-existent (at Pyleaudio.com or in the accompanying Thin booklet).
If using the tuner face buttons to set it up here are two Hints:
1. Power the unit OFF ("Goodbye mode") and use the Menu button to set the time.
2. Power the unit ON and use the Menu button to select Memory, then press the 'Select' button, then choose your preset button to set the station memory.

It's a pretty cheap tuner cost wise.Yes i wouldn't take this in and out but once it's installed it runs cool and does what it supposed to tuning in AM FM stations. The tuner has 60 presets.
I wake up to tunes with the set timer.
This doesn't take up much space and leaves some cash in the wallet.
Great for what it does.Unfortunately, there is a noticable hummmm even when it is on standby. A small exercise to find out where the hummm came from. Had to put off one component at a time and it came down to the tuner as the humming machine
