I purchased this unit to replace a 14 year old boom box. Everything is small enough to still fit on a bookshelf in the living room of my condo. I originally selected this model over others because of its network capabilities, I can connect it to my home network to play internet radio and mp3's (you will need to separately purchase the wireless adapter for wireless connection). I am NOT an Apple user so I was glad to see this is not a fancy apple i[whatever] dock, but an actual stereo. If you want to play music from an mp3 player you only need a standard 3.5mm jack for the line in.

Sound:

I think the sound is Great! It easily fills my entire condo with music. I have listened to Opera, Jazz, NPR, Classical, and Rock on this unit so far. I can clearly hear a high soprano and a low bass with no distortion. Everything is crisp and clean. I initially thought I would purchase a separate sub-woofer, however; after listening I really do not find any need for one. Enjoy listening!

I am pleased with the sound capabilities of this system. The best feature is hooking it up to the network. Accessing my pandora and spotify account on the system is awesome. The only drawback is the method of login/password entry and clunky access through several menus. Otherwise great!

The Onkyo CS-N755 Network Hi-Fi Mini System's stated description creates an expectation beyond the ability of the unit to deliver. The electronics are fine, but the speakers are no better than a pair of $25 computer speakers. I compared songs using my headphones by pulling the head phone jack for a direct comparison with the speakers. Unacceptable sound from the speakers even given the inherent advantage of the direct headphone playback. The good quality sound produced by the electronics seems to be locked up in these lightweight speakers with no way out.
