I bought this for my young daughter's room so she could learn to read a clock and save on desk space by removing her (superior sounding) old iPod dock.
PROS:
Large LED display, two brightness levels (kinda bright and not-so-bright)
Volume dial
Charges iPod/iPhone
AM/FM/iPod all of them work with the alarm
affordable and compact
AUX-in for other mp3 players
CONS:
tinny sounding speaker
poor AM reception (internal antenna requires that you rotate the unit itself to improve reception)
analog tuning
As I mentioned, this thing is pretty basic, but it does do the job. You will need to have the dock adapters to secure the proper fit on the iPod plug, but it will work without it. Honestly, it's fine for a bedside table or child's room, the styling is unoffensive and it has a nice, small footprint. I wouldn't throw out my stereo just yet, but I really like this thing for what it is.

This is a really nice alarm clock. Of course for a clock radio it doesn't have the same quality sound as a home stereo system, but what clock radio does anyway. I didn't even need to read the instructions it was so easy. The only problem I had with it is sitting the IPod on the dock. At first I thought Oh No, it isn't compatible, it wouldn't connect and kept falling over. After a few attempts I did manage to get it on and it does take just a little bit of force but not much. I love the sleep mode which can be programmed up to 1:59. The volume can be adjusted for both wake up mode and sleep mode. I like to have it really low as I'm falling asleep, but then need it louder to wake me up. For the price this is a really nice alarm clock for my IPod 4th generation and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I've only had it a few days, so if I encounter any problems with it I will update my review.Read Best Reviews of Jensen Universal Docking AM/FM Music System for iPod (Black) Here
When my old iHome radio alarm clock stopped working, I started looking for something to replace it. Although the old iHome device worked okay, it had problems such as keeping time (clock would run ahead and I'd have to re-set it every few months), controls that weren't very intuitive (I was constantly referring back to the owner's manual), a blue black-lit display that was way too bright, etc, so I wasn't sure I wanted to go the iHome route again. Not only is this clock much cheaper than the others I was considering (which ranged in price from $75 to $200), it was the only one that met all of my requirements, which were as follows:
-A display that would not light up my room at night
-Could play and charge my iPhone 4 WITH my phone's case on
-FM AND AM radio
-Not take up too much space on my nightstand
I can't speak to the sound quality because I've tested the speakers only briefly. For me, that was not a concern as I listen primarily to AM talk radio and podcasts on my iPhone.
So far, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Doesn't keep accurate time; tuning is archaic; can't use generic mp3 player for wake up; volume not enough (at least for Sansa Clip); speaker without depth. I give it 3 stars only because it was one of the few clock radios (and maybe the least expensive) to accept generic mp3 connection.everything these days is for ipod. needed an alarm that could also connect to other mp3's and phones. this one was perfect, the only thing that could have made this better was if it had a standard usb charging slot on the back.
