Emerson CKS2235B Jumbo Display Dual-Alarm Clock Radio with SmartSet Technology (Black)

Emerson CKS2235B Jumbo Display Dual-Alarm Clock Radio with SmartSet Technology
  • Emerson's exclusive SmartSet technology automatically sets the correct time
  • Automatic daylight savings time and leap year adjustments
  • Large, easy-to-read 1.4-inch red LED time display
  • Touchless snooze control
  • Extra long-life battery back-up system with included 3v lithium battery

I've had it for a few months now. Does everything right. Big red numbers that don't light up the whole bedroom. I was concerned about the new DST which started March 2007, but to my surprise it can easily be changed to the new settings.

This is a great radio! Does everything I want it to. Lots of buttons and switches but the instruction manual explains them all quite well. It's fascinating how the clock sets itself when you plug it in. The clock even handles the new Daylight Savings Time date. I would definately buy another one.

This is a great little radio in many ways. It sets itself automatically when you plug it in & when Daylight Savings Time starts and ends. It has a battery back-up for power failures & the dial is big and easy to read. It has one quirky drawback. The radio dial will not go all the way to the low end of the dial. We have a station at 88.3 that the dial will not reach. I returned one & the same was true of the replacement radio. Otherwise, it is a great product.

Want Emerson CKS2235B Jumbo Display Dual-Alarm Clock Radio with SmartSet Technology (Black) Discount?

The Emerson CKS2235B Jumbo Display Dual-Alarm Clock Radio with SmartSet Technology fulfilled each and everyone of my specifications and then some.

What I was looking for was an alarm clock that had dual alarms, could be set with different alarms for week and weekend, had a gentle but increasing alarm, a battery back-up to keep the time in the event of power loss, wasn't so large that it took over my night stand, and was easy to read in the dark without my glasses. Over the last couple months of looking, I found this to be a tall order. Each clock I found was missing one or more of the required criteria I set. Often the big stumbling blocks were the gentle alarm or the different settings for weekday and weekend for the alarm.

The Emerson CKS2235B does all I ask, plus sets itself to correct time on start up, has a built in radio, and even during a power outage the alarm will work. Sure it cannot display the time without the power from the wall, but the fact that the alarm will sound using just the backup battery is virtually unheard of in an AC powered clock. As for the radio, as a monophonic bedside device, it is just fine. It delivers clean, crisp sound at moderate volumes. It is not a replacement for a stereo system or iPod, but it isn't meant to be. Top it all off with a reasonable price.

It could have a hair smaller display with a slightly smaller case, but the footprint on my nightstand is fairly modest and the big numbers are easy to read across the room, as well as, from in my bed. This alarm clock radio is a perfect fit for me.

Good clock. Small footprint on nightstand. Numbers are gigantic, I'm pretty blind but can see them without glasses. Alarm is quieter than expected on buzz but gets louder. Wave-to-snooze works better on this clock than my old Brookstone -just wave in front of clock and the alarm snoozes. Auto-set is fast. Numbers are bright but can be dimmed just enough so that you don't have a bright light in your face in bed. Basic alarm clock -but it does what it does well.

Naxa NX-422 Micro Shelf AM FM CD Player Stereo w/Digital Alarm Clock
  • Vertical Loading CD Player
  • Analog Tuning with Digital Read Out
  • Dynamic Dual Speakers for Premium Sound

I bought this for my elderly mother-in-law as it appeared to have digital tuning. Wrong --the buttons are for the CD player. The radio tunes with a finger drive that races past a station before you have a chance to stop. I found it annoying, but my m'in-law couldn't begin to tune in a station. It is now at Goodwill.

I was looking for a compact desk top system for my office. After looking at several of these systems and reading about poor design, poor sound, and early failures, I went to the local pawn shop, and bought a used Sony Compact system with CD and Cassette both, a remote, 2 real speakers in nice fake wood boxes, an input for an MP3 player, and real sound quality, for . save the planet and recycle a stereo save these cheap plastic disasters for those too dim to understand.

HTC Wildfire S Prepaid Android Phone (MetroPCS)

HTC Wildfire S Prepaid Android PhoneI bought this phone and am happy with most features. It has a 5 megapix camera. watch most video sites and an endless android app market. but this phone has a huge downfall! Memory! after all the market apps you only have 170mb of storage (which I've never seen) in which may sound like enough but with only 2 apps @7-10mb and 10-12 small .5-2mb it keeps telling me insufficient memory. I would recommend for anyone who looking for a reasonably priced android except for this one prob. oh yeah, cheaper at metro pcs!

I am gonna be real with you,and say this phone is great,i have had this phone for a little bit more then two week's.But yes there is a but, only thing i hate about this phone,is the internal memory it's not a lot it's on the mb area.I had to set my phone back to factory setting's because my memory was getting low,now they have a setting where you can clear your memory by removing stuff, but that was not even working for me.So i put it back to factory default,it gave me back 70 something mb now that probably seem's like a lot,but no it is not.Now they do give you a 2GB SD card, but some of the app's you download wont allow to move it from phone,to SD card. And the last.final thing that has happen to me is,the second week when i got the phone,my phone rebooted two time's.Now i have not have that problem sense. But i thought i will throw it out there. Now will i recommend this phone?Yes if you want a money saving smart phone like me,No if you can afford something better. They just came out with the Huawei Activa(tm) 4G,for $149.99 if i would had waited i would had got that one,it's only 20 buck's more, and has a bigger internal memory, and is 4G.Hope this help's anyone that's looking into getting a new phone.

I love this phone because: really smart phone, easy menu, all apps are avaliable, understandable from first touch setting, durable screen, convinient size and great camera with 5mgpx. I newer open manual, menu is really created for instinct usage.

I was so happy to find prepaid phone with my original phone service. I was surprised, when MetroPCS offered me better price than Amazon.

If you want to be updated with phone, but not ready spend huge moneyWildfire for you!

HTC Wildfire S Prepaid Android Phone (MetroPCS)

As with most prepaid android phones, don't expect it to be any where near as good as phones such as an iPhone, Galaxy, or most other contract phones. The battery life on standby has lasted about 8 hours, with continuous text around 3-4 hours. Talk time would kill the battery at abou 1 1/2 to 2 hours if you're likely. Depending on the prepaid carrier expect a variety of bloat ware, constantly slowly the device even after forcing close such apps. Voice quality is decent when the device decides to function somewhat properly. Not that great experience, but was expecting more considering the short experience with other HTC products and recommendations from friends and coworkers.

As a prepaid android set I would recommend this to teens and folks who aren't familiar with the operating system. If you have experience with android devices and want to cut your bill with a prepaid service I would look else where.

I bought this to serve as a micro tablet for my kids it will never be activated, and operates WiFi only.

Pro

+ perfect size & weight for little hands and fingers

+ good display and multi-touch keeps the device simple

+ full Android market and MP3/MP4 support

+ good HTC design

Con

low-ish resolution

slow-ish CPU

Wow

= sturdy design survived a fall down the stairs

= HTC Sense & widgets are fun for kids

= under $70 bucks!!!

For how little I paid, I'm very satisfied with this Android device. Sure, it could be bigger, faster, etc. But not at the price I paid.

Also

Having owned this for almost 2 months, I am still very satisfied with it for my kids. It plays Angry Birds and Cut the Rope just fine, tho the load times are kinda long. The smaller screen means that video sizes are very reasonable, so you can put a *lot* of hVGA video on an 8 GB card!

iLive 2.1 Channel 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock

iLive 2.1 Channel 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock
  • Speaker Bar
  • Docking Station for iPhone and iPod
  • AM/FM Alarm Clock
  • Remote Control

For this review I expected a good small footprint sound bar for a bedroom.

I got this sound bar at work because I wanted something better than TV stereo but nothing too crazy. This sound bar has good audio quality and even has decent bass and treble settings

It looks nice with blue lit buttons and a blue lit front display that dims when not in use. The iPod drawer is automatic and you don't have to press to release like many others. It can wall mount using two hinges that you screw into the wall and attach to a rail on the back.

By now you probably know that this product has no IR code for universal remotes. You should also know that the remote it comes with isn't great either. It seems like it only works well when you are directly in front of the sound bar and not too far off to the side. Also, it would seem a higher than normal percentage of these are DOA and don't power on for very long before dying. Just be aware and have it exchanged if yours smells like burnt plastic when you turn it on.

Pros:

-good sound

-ipod charger/player

-ipod video out to TV

-looks good

-easy to wall mount

Cons:

-high rate of DOA

-no IR code

-sucky remote

My flat screen was difficult to hear and I knew I needed speakers..but no money or space for a big set I tried the sound bar. It works great, love that I can play my ipod on it too. Its not a "speaker" system with multiple speakers but for me it improved the sound tremendously

We bought this because our Samsung LN46A550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV has terrible sound (we knew this when we bought it). But it was worse than we thought it would be we had to turn the tv way up to make out what people were saying. This is a big improvement. The glaring omission with this product is that there is no way to integrate this with our At&t uverse remote. I called their customer service (be prepared to reach India) and they verified this. Of course, this is a sound bar designed to be used with a television why wouldn't you include this capability? Every other television accessory has this simple feature and has had it for years. If we used a separate remote for every accessory, we would be using 4 different remotes! Big miss on that feature.

I wish I paid more attention to the negative reviews on this before buying it. The sound is Ok for the price. The fact that it won't work with any universal remotes is a big draw back. But the worst thing about it is that it constantly randomly turns on to the FM mode with the volume very high. It does this whether it is turned off or on and regardless what source it was on. It will do it every couple of days and is VERY loud! Sometimes in the middle of the night even. I can't return it and dislike it so much that I am [probably going to go give it to charity. I think this might be the first or second product review I have ever written, I only write them if I am really happy or really disappointed with a product. DO NOT BUY!

I like the product. works fine the only flaw is that it could use stronger remote, otherwise very good functionality for the price.

iMode Clock Radio with iPod Docking Station

iMode Clock Radio with iPod Docking Station
  • This cute item is full of options.
  • Plug in iPod and playback Music, PLL Digital AM/FM Tuner / Stereo Radio, LCD alarm clock display, Alarm by iPod/ radio/ buzzer
  • Comes with Sleep control, Electric Volume, Remote control for iPod, Recharges iPod

I got this as a christmas present, and was sorely disappointed. Avid music listener as I am, I immediately plugged my iPod in to the iMode. I was disappointed to find that the sound quality lacked depth and fullness. In fact, I have an aged set of speakers from Altec Lansing (which I bought for maybe $10 at a garage sale) and their sound quality is exponentially better than the iMode's. And when I play my music loudly, the iMode makes a rattling noise, because apparently one of the buttons is a bit loose. Oh, and I set the alarm this morning, and I have no idea what happened, but it didn't go off. If you're looking for an alarm clock for your ipod with good sound quality, look elsewhere. My friend has the iPlace (I think), and it sounds much better than mine.

This is a nice looking unit with a number of good features dual alarms, remote control for the radio and the iPod, an external AM antenna. Believe, me, I was excited when I pulled this out of the box. Alas, that excitement was short lived. The FM reception was terrible. Some stations I can easily receive on other radios in the house would not come in. Other stations bled over a wide frequency range. So I docked my iPod. That was fine until I started playing music. Very poor sound quality. It had a tinny sound, lacked any serious bass. Not worth near the money it costs.

I've had the Imode for over 4 years now and never had a problem. I got it from a brick and mortar store before starting my current job. I use it everyday and I have no issues with the sound quality. My office is on the 35th floor and I get all stations except for AM stations. For what I spent on it I didn't expect it to be a stellar sound system, just something to plug my ipod into to charge and to be able to listen to my ipod and radio stations at work. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something basic.

I purchased my Imode alarm clock docling station during the thanksgiving sale.... I am so impressed with the quality of the speakers... I really like the sleep mode for the ipod which turns off the music in 90 minutes or less so that it would turn off by itself after im asleep... I don't care much about the radio feature since I hardly listen to radios so i dont really know the quaality of radio frequencies. The REMOTE is a really good bonus too since I can operate the alarm clock all the way from my bed hehehe.... The only thing I don't like about the product is that you can not change the IPODs album from the remote... so you have to press next and finish all the songs from the current album until you can go to the next album. All in all it's really a good buy! Im really happy with it.... I bought another one as a christmas present for my cousin....

MeeFrame MF-801W-US 8-Inch Touch Screen Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame

MeeFrame MF-801W-US 8-Inch Touch Screen Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame
  • 8-Inch True touch screen with direct WiFi connection with access point to the internet
  • Stores all network media - has no charge membership to MeeChannel.com photo sharing website
  • Email photos directly to MeeFrame from all over the world
  • Alarm clock function - touch screen - real life 3day weather forecast - music player - internet radio - news
  • Remote control and 800x600 LCD Touch Screen
  • 8-Inch TFT Screen, True touch screen with direct WiFi connection with access point to the internet

After having purchased 2 of these as gifts and trying to set them up before giving them, I can say with certainty that a) someone at LOOQS needs a serious lesson in usability, and b) The MeeFrame could use another 6-months in development before springing it on the world.

While there is a lot of promise with the MeeFrame, and there are lots of features to like, the "ease of use" left me wanting. I should be able to email photos directly to (somewhere) and have them automatically show up on the frame. I should be able to choose albums, etc, from various sources and create a "slideshow" that would display by default. (etc, etc).

The company's website, and the accompanying "MeeChannel.com" seem like someone's weekend project that they forgot to finish... back in 2005... If the team @ LOOQS/Mee can get their acts together, things could be looking up for them. If not, I'm just glad these frames don't require a subscription (or the like), so if/when LOOQS goes under, the frames will still work

I was very excited to find the MeeFrame on Amazon with one very favorable review, so I bought 3 for gifts for our parents for our wedding. I spent hours trying to get it to work properly with my internet connection before finding out that I had to manually install firmware updates that I had to download. Even after going through all that, the frame is unable to accept new pictures via email as easily as advertised. You have to go to your online account to receive new pictures before they will display on your linked frame, and even then, there's quite some lag time. The Kodak Pulse hooked up to my internet with minimal effort and promptly got all the updates it needed, and was up and running within minutes. Photos emailed to the frame show up within minutes as well. It's like night and day. I returned the MeeFrame and LOVE the Kodak Pulse.Kodak Pulse 7-Inch Digital Frame

I would only give this 2.5 stars. The concept is great but the way the product delivers the information to you needs some work. Pros/cons:

Pros:

Fairly intuitive to setup, use, update

Internet radio is nice and the speakers deliver suprisingly good sound

Good variety of sources for news

Customer service is helpful and quick

Cons:

Internet radio stopped working a couple weeks after I got this. Fortunately, customer service sent me updated firmware a few days after reporting the issue and it now works again.

Clunky scrolling interface: when going through lists (news, radio stations, etc) the scroll interface is glitchy and a bit awkward. With a touch screen like this a stylus shouldn't be required.

News: this is my biggest con per the con above the news articles aren't easy to scroll through without using the stylus, but most of all, there aren't really any articles. You chose your news source and story and a box on the bottom of the screen displays a grainy picture and a one sentance description which is just a glorified headline. There's really nothing much to read. I expect at least a one paragraph description of the article. The main reason I purchased this was to become more informed by reading news every morning.

I haven't used the feature to wirelessly load pics to the frame but have read reviews that the process is a little cumbersome.

Want MeeFrame MF-801W-US 8-Inch Touch Screen Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame Discount?

Although it seems like a great idea and great gift, especially for family that lives far away since you can email pictures right to it. The only problem is, it's very little detail in the instructions for set up of anything. Just to connect to WiFi took two of us about 30 minutes, at least. Then, trying to get the thing registered/set up for my grandma, even more of a pain! I'm still currently trying to get things set up on it and the photo quality is average. The additional features are a nice touch but I can't imagine how difficult it is to access and use those if we can't even get it set up to begin with. So, overall, I have to say i'm quite disappointed with the quality and use of this product. Plus, the decorative frame that came in the box with it wasn't even protected and is completely scratched and looks awful. If it works, It will be very nice for my grandmother who lives in another state. We will be able to send her pictures from here and she can have access to music, weather and news. Hopefully things get easier from here on out but we will see.

UNLOCKED QUADBAND DUAL SIM FULL-QWERTY MP3 CAMERA VGA GSM CELLPHONE BLACK T5

UNLOCKED QUADBAND DUAL SIM FULL-QWERTY MP3 CAMERA VGA GSM CELLPHONE BLACK T5Ok I was skeptical. A new cell phone for under $40. Well why not? What could happen? I could be very impressed and amazed is what. This phone has it all. Slip the Sim card in and your off. I don't do internet so I am not sure how it works, but text and phone work flawless. I am seriously thinking of trying to become a dealer. Easy to make and load ringtones. Camera works well. FM radio. I mean for a replacement phone or kids cheap phone, this is the deal. I am going to order some of the other models just because of the cost, but I love the T5. Will see how long it last but first impressions, this is my choice for unlocked dual Sim phone.

I needed something cheap, easy to use, with basic bells and whistles. Got this for the keyboard, screen, internet, and camera. For the price it's great. I haven't had it long, so I'm still trying to figure out how to get the internet to work on it. It's more a backup than my primary phone so It's great for that and great for when I travel and will be using different sim cards. No need to change the card out everytime or worry about losing one card while using the other. The keys are pretty small, but after a bit you get more used to it.
