This clock is nice looking, it has two independent alarms, CD and radio playing capability, sleep mode, and a 5 minute snooze. Either the CD or radio or high-pitched beep (simple beeps, not that screeching buzzer that still makes the hair on my neck stand on end) can be used with either alarm.

That much is great, and if you are looking for those features, buy this clock radio.

The cons:

--Usability is poor and unintuitive. For example: when you're setting an alarm, you hit the Alarm 1 button once to bring up the blinking time setup. You also see which alarm mode is currently active. If you set the time, then notice you need to change the mode (beeps, CD, radio) and change it immediately afterward, the time goes back to how it was before.

--Button to turn alarm off (not snooze) along with other buttons used to activate alarm settings are small and impossible to use in the dark, even if you have a good idea of where they are.

--No gradual alarm volume increase. When I get blasted out of bed by a sudden horrific onslaught of noise I'm much more likely to scramble for the snooze rather than actually get up. This is a feature all modern alarms should have as an option.

--CD wake mode can only play first track of CD!!! If you don't want to wake up to different tracks of your favorite CD you have to reburn the CD in a different track order.

I hate this product.

I recently moved and wanted some kind of small, simple CD player in my bedroom. I also wanted something relatively inexpensive. After a lot of shopping around, I settled on this CD player/clock radio. The clock radio aspect was a nice bonus, as I wanted another clock for the bedroom as well.

The unit takes up very little space on my nightstand with the vertical form factor. The unit doesn't look exactly like the product picture on Amazon, but it's similar. The controls are mostly easy to figure out, and it has a battery compartment in case the power goes out (two AA batteries). The display is readable from a distance, and overall the unit is attractive. It is also inexpensive.

Unfortunately, the goodness ends there. The negatives:

1. To play a CD, you must turn the unit on. Pressing 'play' without turning the unit on doesn't work.

2. The display is so bright I have to turn it away from my bed at night--even on the dimmest setting it is far brighter than my bright red LED clock radio.

3. The speakers are terrible. Even playing simple acoustic guitar music (Windham Hill variety) causes a lot of vibration. I am surprised by this: Yes, the unit is cheap and has small speakers, but I am still disappointed--I wouldn't expect Philips to make such a bad sounding unit. My 10 year old $20 clock radio sounds better than this. Even turning up soft piano music to a volume audible more than 4 ft from the unit results in very bad sound.

4. The unit makes a fluttering noise when the CD is rotating, with a grinding-and-hiss combination noise when it spins up the CD. In the morning, I am usually awakened by the grind, rather than my music. Sometimes it makes a lot of noise as it switches from one track to another. All of this happens with various CDs that have been treated well and handled carefully.

5. When manually starting to play a CD (such as to fall asleep to), there's a good 30-45 seconds that it's impossible to check the time of the alarms! Pressing the alarm buttons just don't do anything. This is just silly.

I have bought some pretty poor products from time to time over the years, but I do think it is fair to say that this is one of the worst uses of my money ever. I wasn't expecting a heck of a lot, but I still ended up very disappointed.

It's not clear the competing products are much better, but I would not recommend this product to anyone. :-(

cd player worked great... dual alarms and battery back-up worked great... but you can't read the stupid thing in the dark. i have perfect vision, but even when it was just a couple of feet from my face it was unreadable. the alternative is to turn on the backlight... which lights up the room like a christmas tree and makes it impossible to sleep. whoever designed it should be demoted to the janitorial staff. mine went in the garbage after less than a month because i would have felt bad dropping it off at goodwill to torture someone else.

I own two Philips CD/Alarm Clocks that work great. When I needed a 3rd, the original one's I owned had been discontinued. I found this model and thought that since Philips made it and the other models I had worked great, that I would go ahead and purchase it. Bad move.

The lighting is horrible. The functionality is poor. Most important, the sound quality is beyond poor. I would compare it to what I would imagine speakers from a 62 Nova that has been sitting out in the rain for the last 40+ years would sound like. I would recommend not purchasing this item.

The blue display light is far too bright. Also, radio reception is poor and Am is constantly hissing. I highly suggest buying a different model

By "it's like the lamp in most hotel rooms these days" I mean it's there to give you somewhere to plug devices into. I actually like the concept. Basically you plug this device into the wall and put the block on your desk and in doing so you turned one outlet at the wall into an outlet on your desk, plus you now have 2 usb charging ports.

First know that this picture, while "nice" is wrong. There is no actual 30 pin Apple device charger on the top as pictured. The only way I can see to make this happen... Drill a hole in the top of this, glue your own connector in place and runt the cord out the bottom then plug it in... Yeah, not build the way it's pictured.

What you DO get is:

1. On the top is a slot, no charging ports, it's just a plastic place to put your device.

2. On the back you get 1 electrical outlet, not grounded it's only 2 prong. This is fine, it' works just fine with my wifes netbook charger. It does NOT however work with my standard size laptop charger as it requires 3 prong outlets.

3. 2 USB ports on the back, one is strong enough for an iPad, or any other USB device, the other is a standard lesser voltage USB that will will charge.

In my application I found that I can put my android phone in upside down in the slot in the top, plug a usb cable into the usb slot on the back and into the phone and let it charge. Is this practical? Nope, because my android then is upside down and while the screen rotates, most apps including the clock app I use don't rotate 180 degrees... I sure wish they made an actual charging port on top. BUT for what I actually use it for it does work. And I like that I have outlets available to me.

I was going to buy one of those outlets you install in your house that converts a 2 wall outlet into a one wall outlet with 2 usb ports, however I decided to go this route as I wanted the usb ports to be easier to get to, and I like the portability of this. I just wish the top of this had a more practical use. For that I give it 3 out of 5 stores. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

This charging station is a useful addition to either the home office or the office office. I set mine up at my office and it sits beside my computer where I can plug in my phone charger, rest my phone in the cradle and recharge it out of the way of all my other stuff. That makes it useful. There is both a standard plug from the back of the cradle, as well as two usb ports. The fact that it still requires me to lug out and hook up my cell phone charger prompted me to give the product 4 instead of 5 stars. Ideally, I could just place the phone in the cradle and walk away whil it charged. Regardless,this is quite a helpful device.

While the picture looks like there is a connector built into the device, that is not the case. You need a separate charging cable and basically just put your device upside down and plug it in on top. That was quite a disappointment, to tell the truth, since I got this for someone who wanted to have their own place to plug in their ipod.

Still, we are using it for an ipod, and I have another charger plugged into the 3 prong plug on back, so I can use it to charge my tablet. But it is not what we thought it was. Caveat Emptor.

The video pretty much shows it all, but here is a summary for those of you who don't want to watch the video ;)

PROS:

-large enough for the largest phones

-includes pads to put inside the unit, if you have a smaller phone, and you want a snug fit

-has 2 USB charging ports

-has a 2-prong "convenience" electrical port, for ... an alarm clock or lamp or something, I guess?

CONS:

-Cord is too low to the base of the unit, and arrives bent down, which means if you keep it at the edge of a table, moving it around is a bit of a problem

-the port for the phone is a LITTLE shallow, it could be a bit deeper for larger phones, especially since they include the pads for smaller phones

Overall, it is a nice little docking station though, pretty much what I was looking for in a phone dock.

This item is pretty useless as it takes up desk space. The "cradle space" on top is pretty useless as you cannot charge your device unless you drill a hole thru the bottom of the unit to put your charging cord through there to reach one of the USB slots as there are no charging pins as provided with the other RCA PCHSTAB1R 30-Pin Charging Dock with Device Cradle which has much more functionality but only 1 USB charging port in the back of that unit, but alas you can charge your iPod or iPhone as it comes w/a removeable cradle to support either application when you put either unit in that cradle with the 30 pin plug in that cradle. If I could have given this one zero stars I would have. I was very dissapointed in this. Even though they give you 4 or 5 foam strips to adjust your Galaxy III smartphone in the cradle it still won't allow for any room to allow for you to run your charging cable that plugs in the "bottom" of the phone to run along "outside" the cradle to plug along in the BACK of this charging dock. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

I realize this isn't an expensive clock radio, but still we have been very disappointed. The controls have a very flimsy feel, the sound is so tinny and schrill you can hardly listen even to people talking on the radio. You have to tune to diferent radio stations just by listening--I have never, ever seen a radio that didn't provide visual feedback while tuning, but this one is the first. Finally, in several weeks of use we have seen no evidence that the grad-u-wake wake-up volume increasing system works at all. The only hard decision is what to do with this radio now, give to a thrift shop or throw it away.

This is a first for me a digital clock that does not keep good time. It looses about a minute and a half each week. I bought the RC10 model clock radio at a big box electronics store. It was on sale for less than $6. It is not worth 6 cents.

I have a 30-year old Panasonic digital clock radio and 25-year old London digital clock and both still keep perfect time.

I ordered this for my 91 year old mother. didn't need the alarms so just covered up that with black tape. wanted the sleep function, so easy for aides just to push button & radio plays for 2 hours! large buttons so easy to turn on. thinking of ordering one for myself!

I bought this clock despite other bad reviews because my last clock was an older version of this one. My old clock worked fine until I broke it in a move. I tried this clock because it is the only clock radio that advertised displaying the alarm time and had a plug. Lots of battery alarms do this, I am not sure why clock radios do not.

Anyways, this clock did not work. When plugged in, you can set the time and it seems to work. But if the clock uses any other function, such as turning on the radio or, heaven forbid, turning on the alarm, the whole clock turns off. This only lasts for a fraction of a second. But you lose the time (the time starts flashing "12:00"), and the alarm is turned off and reset to 12:00. A backup battery would probably solve this. But if I wanted a battery powered clock, I would have bought one.

This is by the far the best AM/FM headphone radio I've owned and I have owned quite a few. I searched every electronic store in my area trying to find a headphone like this and could only find it through amazon.com.

The clarity of the radio reception is excellent. Having 20 preset stations makes it so easy to switch stations when you don't like the song playing on the current station. This is also the most comfortable headphone radio I've had. I can wear it for hours and it never gets uncomfortable. I also can't deal with having the wired headphones or the ones you wear on your arm, so this one is ideal.

I actually liked this headphone so much I bought two more, one to keep at work and one to give to my husband. He likes it as much as I do.

For the people who gave this product such poor ratings, you must be abusive with your things. I use my headphone so much and switch stations constantly and I have never had any problems with it.

I highly recommend this headphone for anyone wanting a reliable, comfortable, great reception radio, with no wires and the ease of changing stations at the touch of a button.

I am totally pleased with the Sony Headphone Radio. I am an electrical engineer and have designed receivers for many years. No FM receiver can receive FM without being subjected to multipath distortion caused by reflection of FM signals from metal structures or fading due to movement of the antenna. Both of these situations cause reception to fade in and out as you turn your head or walk. This radio works as well as any I have ever used and probably as well as is technically possible.

The AM performance is governed by the size of the antenna. Since the antenna must be small in a headphone receiver, the received signal will be much less than that of a car radio for example. However, I am able to receive AM stations as well as any similar product I have ever used.

I am also impressed by the headphone audio quality and the double headband used to keep the radio/headphone in place as you move.

Overall, I am very satified with this product. And if you recognize the technical limitations of a small receiver with a moveable antenna, then you will be as impressed with this product as I am.

I use these while gardening and walking in my neighborhood, as well as while my husband is around (he doesn't like to listen to the radio).

They're generally pretty good. The automatic presets work well and are easy to memorize and use without removing the headphones from your head. The built-in clock is handy, and batteries generally last for a long time. They are fairly lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Minuses: the reception varies quite a bit. Near dense walls, both AM and FM will cut out temporarily; you have to move or turn your head to get reception back. FM is particularly sensitive. Close to walls, I often lose an FM station whose transmitter is less than 5 miles away.

For the money, this is a solid little pair of headphones with good multiple uses.

Until I came across this radio, I was beginning to think I would not find one that would work for me. I tried 2 different models of headband radios that made the skin on my ears sore within the first hour of wearing them. I returned those radios. The Sony SRF-HM33 is very comfortable, even after wearing it all afternoon. It is durably constructed. It fits loosely on my head, which is okay, since I just listen to news and music while working. Even though I work in a basement, the reception is not static and the stereo sound is great. This radio has a good antenna.

This is the best hands-free walkman I've found. The earphones are comfortable (I even wear earrings and they don't bother me)and they stay on your head even while trail-running. The reception for me is almost perfect; there are some spots in my neighborhood where I don't get certain stations.

This unit works very well for the money. I live on a dirt road that can get a little washboard effect to it at times and the unit has never skipped. The only real complaint I have is that there are so many functions on this stereo that it has a bit of a learning curve. But once you get the hang of it, there are a LOT of features for such a cheaply priced stereo. The screen is about the size of an iPhone 4 or DroidX/Thunderbolt phone. I am also sending a signal via cable to a monitor in the back seat of my Suburban, which is great for backseat passengers. This is a fantastic deal for this price.

Two important notes about wiring this unit. First, if you simply ground the pink wire, you can override the restriction of watching the video player only when the car is parked and parking brake engaged. With it grounded, all videos play all the time. Please understand that by bypassing this restriction, you may be breaking the law in your state, so beware.

Secondly and most importantly, I had a problem with the unit that I did a web search for and found that others had as well, but no one had an answer for it. I even called Pyle tech support and they said the unit was defective and I should return it. It was not. The problem was that I would randomly get a message on a blue background that simply had the word "CAR" with a small triangle next to it. One day, the radio was working fine and I was going through the car wash. My automatic headlights turned on because of the darkness and it started acting up and giving me the message again. I figured out then that it was related to me turning on the lights. I pulled the stereo out and checked all the wiring all the colors matched up properly, but that was the problem. I had connected the orange wire from the radio to the orange "dimmer switch" wire on my truck without checking the label. The orange wire on the unit was for a backup camera connection, not dimmer. So when the lights would come on, I was sending 12V to the camera connection instead of a camera. That was causing the problem. I disconnected the wires and it has worked flawlessly ever since. They really should use a different color as folks that have installed a lot of radios over the years simply assume to just match up the colored wires and you're ready to roll.

I do recommend this unit. For the price, it can't be beat!

Wanted a touch screen for my bug and this was a perfect fit.

Nice clear screen for being so small. Visually looks good, does not look out of place in my VW. Same features as a larger touch screen, quality device, cheaper cost, easy to operate, pleased over all with my purchase.

For me the cd player isn't that bad. I've experienced the hot disc thing, I don't listen to discs that much anyway. The radio is nice, superior sound and all my stations scanned. The angle adjustment works for every source, radio, aux, USB, and so on, if u know how to operate it correctly. Read the manual before writing reviews people. I listen to an sd card via USB and love it, no more discs for me. Oh yea if u use aux, the screen is just an plain blue, which is boring. The sd card is at least set up in mp3 format. And the clock dosen't show on background just the radio. It's an okay cd player but it dosen't top my previous one which was a Lanzar.

For me the CD player is great. Great because I hate the radio. If you like the radio, dont buy this cd player. The radio section on it is awful. It auto-scans in 6 stations. Only 3 of them will be real stations playing music. Since there are more than 6 stations playing at any time all over the country, 6 is not enough. If you try to scan to the station you want its difficult. I followed the steps in the manual to save a station and it would not work. Futhermore, the two buttons in the radio section that you'd think would scroll down to more stations, actually tilt the screen. You can't tilt the screen while watching a DVD or while listening to a CD. But for some reason the radio has big buttons that tilt the screen. Dumb

The rest is mostly ok. DVD's play fine and they auto-play, they don't make you mess with a menu. CD controls are easy to use and play fine. One thing however is that when I take a CD or DVD out of the player after playing it, the disc is burning hot. I emailed PYLE and they said that it should be ok but if I wanted I could get another one shipped instead. Which would have meant that I was going to have to pay someone to take the CD player out, pay shipping on a new one, then pay someone to put the new one in. I emailed PYLE and the seller I got it from to see if one of them would cover the expenses and guess what? Neither has responded to that question. I'm assuming that they figure if they just don't respond then soon my 30 day warranty will be up and they wont have to do anything.

A really cool CD/DVD player if you don't care for radio. But it is a risk.

I say medium because this thing is a little bit bigger than some iPod docking stations I've seen, but it has so much to offer. Great sound quality as far as my ears can tell once you turn DBB on. Comes with a radio which is a bonus for me because I wasn't really looking for one with a radio, but I have used it, and the quality is great and I pick up every station I pick up in my car. Also allows you to have up to six preset stations which is nice if you do use the radio a lot.

It works great with my iPod (80GB Classic), and I'm sure it works fine with any other iPod. One of the things I like is that if you turn the player off, for whatever reason, the next time you turn it on, it takes about 1-2 seconds to load up and starts up exactly where you left off. Heck, it takes me longer to resume my song with the iPod manually than it takes this thing to resume. Also, the buttons on the stereo work great with iPod. Very easy to navigate the menu's with it, though if you have alot of songs it might take a while to get from A to Z, though you can still use your wheel if you need to get that far. Also has buttons that you can use to turn shuffle on/off, as well as turning repeat on/off for the current song, or the current playlist.

Let's see...the volume on this thing can actually get very loud too. I keep it on about 10 when I'm listening to it, and if I put it on 15-20 I can hear it fine in another room...and it goes all the way up to 32, which I haven't even tried yet. I can't imagine how loud it would be. It also has DBB which, to be honest, without it the audio is terrible, but turn it on and it's like a miracle, though it's like that with any stereo with DBB really. Comes with different covers for the dock so you can use it with a Nano, Classic, Touch, or other popular iPod's. Also comes with an auxiliary cable so you can plug in another MP3 player if you don't have an iPod.

Now, one of my favorite features...a USB port. Simply plug in any USB flash drive with music on it and listen away. I have used four different USB flash drives on it so far, one 1GB drive, two 4GB drives, and an 8GB drive. All of them work seamlessly and takes less than a second to load up and play...even if it is filled up with songs. Had 5GB's+ of music on my 8GB drive, and all I did was change the source to USB and the player started playing in less than a second...it's that fast. Using USB also has the ability to turn shuffle on/off, or turn repeat on/off, again for the current playlist (which in this case would be every song on the drive) or for the song currently playing. The auxiliary option obviously doesn't provide these options as you're simply transferring the audio to play out of the speakers, but you can still turn repeat/shuffle on via your device.

All in all, this is a great stereo, with great features. Sound is perfect and loud, and also create's a nice home for my iPod to keep it when I'm not using it, and charge it at the same time. And it's nice to have because before I was having to plug my iPod into my PC and listen to music off my iPod through my computer (using SharePod), and it was getting kind of annoying, so this thing is great for me. Also accepts C batteries so you can carry it with you and listen to your tunes with ease wherever you go. Would make a great portable player if you want to go outside by the pool, go to the park, or something similar...even has a nice handle.

It's true, what the other reviewer said, the plastic probably isn't the best in the world, but as long as you aren't throwing it off balconies it really shouldn't break. Really, I think any stereo that you drop is probably going to be a bad thing...not just this one. And I've actually knocked it over twice now, with my iPod inside, and it kept playing and wasn't damaged at all...and it kept the cover closed with my iPod secured inside, so I'm glad about that.

Also plan on taking some pictures and adding them later so check for those.

PROS

The sound is great for one of the lower priced stereo docks out there (volume level 10 is perfect for general listening).

Radio tuner worked well for my local station preferences. They all came in clear and were able to be preset easily.

Price is decent. As much as I try not to shop there, found this on clearance at Walmart for $49. The current price on Amazon ($66) is not too bad either but certainly happy to find it cheaper.

Charged my iTouch 2g. I had previously purchased two alarm clock docking stereos -HMDXthat claimed to charge all iPods but wouldn't with the new iTouch)

Portability and USB/aux port

Sleep timer. Haven't used this yet but a pleasantly suprising feature

CONS

No remote!!! Of course, not necessary, but it would have been useful.

Size. Its not huge but its not made for the average nightstand (as I'd hoped) unless this is the only thing on it.

No place to store AC cord. I guess they assume if you're using this on the go, you'll leave the cord behind since it would be powered by the C batteries. However, if I happen to be near an outlet on the go, I'd much rather use that than burn the batteries.

I'd been looking for an docking stereo for a while and but I'm very happy with this one.

I was shopping for a small iPod dock with radio, and after doing a lot of research, I settled for the Philips DC185, and I couldn't be happier.

If you need a nice looking and simple solution to listen to the radio and your iPod, this is a great choice, and for $62, its a bargain.

I just got this stereo for my 4th generation nano. I was worried it wouldn't work with it, but it does, and charges it as well. I like how portable it is, and that it has a radio. Overall I really like it. The only negative I can see so far is that it doesn't look as cool with the nano docked as it does with a larger unit. Since the nano is so skinny, it doesn't fill up the whole front panel and theres some open space, but other than that, it's just what I was looking for.

I've been looking at this item at the local Target store and decided to look on Amazon.com. The price at target is $69.99 so when I found it here for half prize I didn't hesitate to order it. I purchased it over the weekend and it arrived on Thursday. What a great purchase. The sound is great and the price can't be beat. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and I highly recommend it. I plugged in my iPod Touch 2nd Generation and my wife's iPod Nano 4th Generation and they both worked as expected. The only con is that it doesn't come with a remote control, but for the price and quality I can overlook that small detail since it's not something I need.

I have a lot of radios. What I like about this radio is it's compact, lightweight, easy to use, sturdy and offers surprisingly good reception.

It uses readily available AAA batteries. Rechargable batteries are an option as the radio has a USB charging port.

The radio has good audio for it's size, shaped for intelligibility not so much high fidelity since it's too small to provide much bass.

There is no headphone jack for this uncomplicated digital radio and although it's rechargable you'll have to provide the cable and power source, they are not included at this low price. The manual is more of an instruction sheet telling the user how to set the clock, turn it on/off, tune the radio, turn the alert feature on/off and change batteries...very simple.

I've noticed this radio suffers from a significant loss of sensitivity/reception if it's used within 6 feet of operating digital electronics such as a laptop, even if they are in sleep mode. Obviously if you use a computer USB port to recharge this little radio the reception will be poor while they are connected. This is not a major shortcoming. BTW, there are other digital radios which also experience similar loss of reception near laptops.

The small flashlight is a nice feature making this compact radio useful for camping, backpacking and/or emergency event/power outages.

I was looking for a small weather radio for emergencies. This Kaito radio is really awesome!!! Really small and compact, great reception, volume control, and back lit screen. I love the fact that it has a mini USB port on the side and it goes perfectly with some Amazon rechargeable batteries. The light on the top of the radio is actually not bad, considering that I am used to using a Surefire and several other tactical lights. Is the light as bright as most tactical lights? No. However, it is a handy feature and really is quite good considering the price of the item. All things considered, this radio is of good quality, has good reception and other features. Above all, the price is right where it needs to be for what you are getting. This is an excellent radio and as soon as I am done writing this review I am picking up another as a back up.

I have had my Kaito KA123 Emergency DSP Radio for about ten days now. I picked it up with the idea that it might be a good radio for a quick trip away or for camping when packing light.

The radio offers a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) on AM/FM/ 7 NOAA weather channels, and a weather alert function. It has a brightly backlit, blue LCD display and everything is touch button power, volume, tuning, and light.

The radio is black and yellow, very small, in the shape of a walkie-talkie and will stand on it's own. It uses three AAA batteries and will show low state.

The radio performance is very good for it's ability to receive AM/FM and weather. This has to be attributed to the DSP chip inside. Before getting this radio, I would not have believed such performance possible in any radio approaching this size. It will receive almost anything you can receive on a car radio plus the NOAA weather station in your area, rock steady. While writing this, here north of Detroit where I live, I am listening to WBBM 780 Chicago.

The antenna for FM and weather extends only 6" from the closed position. Put a three foot piece of wire on an alligator clip and I'm sure would even improve what this little gem can do. It tunes up/down by holding the button to scan for the next station. Volume is in 16 levels through the tiny speaker, I use level 8. It really is for personal use, though there are no earphones.(Would you want them while in a tent?) Don't expect room filling sound, but it is loud enough to annoy turned all the way up.

Don't overlook the light on this radio. It is an LED at the top pointing up and diffusing broadly through a clear lens to fill a small room or tent with light to navigate by in an emergency or while camping.

The Kaito KA123 is well worth the price Electronnix asks for it fulfilled by Amazon.

I bought this radio so that I could have a portable, battery powered weather radio that I could put in my bag for emergencies. I have a MIDLAND WR300 Weather Radio for home use, so my comparisons will be with that radio.

The radio reception is pretty impressive for such a compact radio. This is just as good as the Midland weather radio I mentioned above, picking up a weather station that is about 30 miles away. Unlike some other inexpensive radios in this price range, this has digital tuning.

The radio is compact, about the size of a cell phone. The build quality is pretty good considering the price -I'm not sure it'll survive a hard drop, but at this price, I don't really expect it to. The display isn't anything too fancy, but it's legible. The buttons have good feedback, though the fast tuning (holding down the tune+ or tunebuttons to seek) takes too long. I can tune faster by repeatedly pressing the tuning buttons. The speaker, as you might guess, isn't that great for music, but it's clear and loud for speech. The built-in flashlight is serviceable, but you won't want it as your only flashlight.

Given the quality for this price, I would definitely recommend this radio.

Timex Rainbow Display Clock Radio w/MP3 Port T439S

I've had this clock for about 7 months now and it's great. I've got two alarms set for M-F and the weekend, one with the buzzer and the other set to a classical station that is known to not have the best reception in my area. However, I can pick it up with no static with this tuner. I also have no issues picking up any of the other stations I listen to. It might be easier to tune in if it was a digital tuner, but it's fine. The sound is clear and is somewhat in stereo with the multi-directional speaker on top. I say somewhat because when you're waking up to the radio alarm you're not exactly in the position you need to be in in order to receive all the sound waves from the circular speaker.

The back-light color adjustment is just what I needed. Many alarm clock lighting schemes are either too bright for me or are just plain unattractive. I was not only able to choose the right color for me, but also the brightness. Granted it took me a few minutes and a couple of tries to get this setting because it cycles through all the colors of the rainbow and you have to set the button at just the right time to stop it where you want it, but it was also nice to see the other options I could have chosen.

My only problem with this radio is the Daylight Savings adjustment feature. It wasn't a problem until our all-knowing government decided to adjust the beginning of Daylight Savings time. I had to manually adjust the clock 3 or 4 weeks ago when the new time went into effect. And I just had to reset it again this morning when the clock *thought* it was supposed to change.

When purchasing a "clock radio", one expects to get adequate feature/functionality from both the clock AND the radio. I bought this for my office because it "looks nice" on my desk.

If the FM-radio was a "new" technology, then I could understand if the reception had some "glitches".... but this is the pits. I will be returning this item ASAP.
