I was a little worried when my husband requested this as a Father's Day gift. There were some poor reviews on a similar item, so I didn't have high hopes as far as quality goes. Of course, Perry is quite cute. It states docks an iPod, but luckily it fits our iPhones too (and has other interchangeable docking plates). You are able play the music off your i-accessory, not great quality, but it is a children's clock. The brightness of the backlight is adjustable. Overall, it is a nice addition and better than I anticipated. Would recommend to all the Agent P fans!

This is really cute and easy to set up. The only thing is, I have seen other clocks for iPod touches and iPhones that have a time sync, this one doesn't, but the time is very easy to set. You do need to make sure it is on the correct time zone before you set the time, also there is a switch that is -1hr and +1hr, which is for Daylight Savings, so you don't need to reset. It comes with 2 alarm clocks which are easy to turn on and off. Also, the time is backlit and there are 3 levels of brightens, which includes no backlight. My daughter really likes hers and has her iPod touch on it charging whenever she is not using it.

We bought htis for our 4 year old daughter to use in her room to listen to pandora while she sleeps. She loves it. It is so easy to use and we love the sleep button which allows you to set your ipod to turn off in either 90, 60, or 30 min. It has two alarms which we have not used but maybe when she is older. To be honest, I don't know what the other two reviewers are talking about. I have several docks in my home ranging from iHome to Bose. After reading the two reviews here, I almost passed this product but luckily read a bunch of other reviews on Google and decided to take a chance on this beauty. Its no Bose, but its sound quality is not bad at all. In fact, I'd rate it a 5/10, and better than most other docks I've seen. Yes, it emphasizes the high notes a bit more than other docks, but a simple EQ change on the iPod easily took care of that issue. In the looks department, its a stunner, especially at this low price. The weakest part of it is its radio, which (based on the other review) I didn't expect to be high quality. Overall, I'm very pleased with this little gizmo and would rate it at 4 stars if it were priced around $50. But given its amazing price, I think this is a steal for a low to medium end dock.

Don't get me wrong I love the design of this stereo/alarm, but that's about it. The sound from the speakers are high pitched (like cheap speakers), so the sound quality isn't very good. The light from the clock is pretty bright. It lights up my whole room and makes it hard to sleep. The alarm setting on isn't thought out. The music comes on blasting or if you set the bell on it, it sounds like a horn. If I would have had a chance to try it out before I purchased it. I don't think I would have bought it.. The honest truth.

See that clear, easy-to-see light-blue-on-black display in the picture? That's NOT what this clock has. Instead, the display is a bright (I mean REALLY bright, the last review was right) blue rectangle with black numbers. Almost impossible to read, especially at night.

Otherwise, I just want to echo the other review. Too bright, too loud (I haven't found a way to adjust the alarm level, but the radio BLARES loudly enough to wake the dead), and impossible for me or my wife to read what time it is. Pretty much failing at everything you need a clock radio to do.

Oh well, it looks nice.

I would honestly say the biggest drawback is the buttons don't always work the very best and all the different little stands for the various ipod styles could be labeled better but that's honestly nitpicking just a little on another plus side remote works pretty well and sometime better than the actually buttons if you don't press them directly

I bought this as a low cost alternative to some of the other iPod clock radios out there and returned the first one because I was getting the same loud hissing out of the speakers like previous consumers have stated. When I exchanged it for another one, I got the same hissing. I tried multiple cradle adaptors and was about to return it again when I pulled the iPod up very slightly from the docking station. Once I did this it was crystal clear. Turns out the docking station plug is taller than most other iPod charger docks and puching it too far will create the interference.

Sorry for being long winded, but long story short, now that I have it figured out, the sound is fine and for a workplace music player this is just the thing I was looking for. Knowing what I know now about, I would recommend it.

This is not a bad choice if you are looking for a clock radio for your workplace. It does not play an iPod as the alarm, so using it as a bedside alarm stinks.

The adapter for the Nano is total junk. It does not fit in the slot at all without major modification and even then it will not allow a Nano user to plug it in.

As stated prior, the connecter is poor. It distorts with the smallest movement of the ipod, so surfing through songs while on the dock should not be done. If you wish to surf, then I suggest one uses the aux input on the back. The clock does come with a cord to plug an audio device into it.

The saving grace of this unit is the sound. Its good, not great, but good. I also like the seperate batteries for clock and speakers. This way one can change the batteries for the speakers without resetting the clock and alarm.

man i have been looking for an ipod radio with digital tuning for a long time. this one is just right, not to much cash for it and it is clear at high volume.

LG Viper 4G Android Phone (Sprint)

I just got this phone for my wife. I of course set it up and played with it until she ripped it away from my finger tips! I have to say... for a free phone the LG VIPER is just awesome!

As much as I like it you have to keep things in perspective... this IS NOT meant to compete with the super phones like the EVO 4G LTE or the Samsung Galaxy III LTE... or the Google Nexus. It is far above the "entry level" class of phones too! I have to admit, I felt like I was cheating my wife by getting a "free" phone for her... but after using it I feel that I ripped Best Buy for getting the phone free on an upgrade... and trading in her old EVO 4G for a $65 credit! This is by far the best free phone I have ever seen.... and I worked for Sprint as a store manager for 4 years.

So here are some bullet points on why to consider the LG Viper;

* Smallest of the 4G LTE Android phones For my wife the size of the other LTE phones was a tad bit too big. The size of this phone is perfect for her.

* Speed This phone hands down "smokes" the EVO 4G that she had. When I was doing updates I was amazed of the speed of the phone. This thing is a fast and powerful as you need!

* Covers the basics well Good camera, access to the web, facebook, gmail, apps, etc. For the NON TEENAGER... this phone works very well! If you are a a power user (business or teens) then you may want to explore the higher end phones. But if you need a phone for your day to day basics this phone is for you! (and then some!)

* Value Like I said, I cannot believe that this phone is free. If money is a consideration then look at the LG Viper before dropping $150 to $200 on a larger more powerful handset... then look at this phone and compare the "true" needed features that you will use daily.

* Sprint LTE It is coming... when it does you will see a huge performance gain compared to the old WIMAX 4G network Sprint uses. So you are buying the newer technology, not the old one. (Check with Sprint to see when your area is scheduled to get 4G LTE)

* This phone currently runs on Android 2.3 (older version)... but from what I have read it is getting Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)... so you have a huge upgrade coming in the future! (Which helps "future proof" this device)

Here are a few reasons why not to consider it;

* Small phone In my hands the EVO 4G LTE fits a lot better than the LG VIPER. The Viper is too small... and I feel like it will slip out of my hand easily. This can be solved by using a protective case (since they have a better grip material)... none-the-less, it is too small for me, but perfect for my wife!

* If you have to feed your ego LOL, I am serious, some people have to have the BEST, most top of the line phone out there... this one is good, but not that good!

* Screen size The trend is to make phones big enough to use as a "small tablet"... yet small enough to still be a phone. Having a 4.7" screen is significant enough compared to the LG Viper... but the Viper's screen is big enough for normal "regular people" usage. For example, I would NOT watch a high-def movie on any phone, regardless of screen size... that is what my 55" HDTV is for! So having a larger screen is not necessarily "critical" for our needs.

For the money, the LG Viper is HARD to beat. It is very powerful... so I can see it being useful for the above average users as well. The only group I do not see adopting it is the HARDCORE power junkies out there. But for the more average phone users out there this phone is just awesome!

At $99 at Sprint (sorry Amazon, bought through Sprint), i thought this device would be a 'whatever' simple Android phone. But it's actually speedy and responsive.

The battery life is bad but not worse than other Android phones which is why i use JuiceDefender (app) to keep my battery lasting all day.

HW quality is solid, though i wish the back cover were rubberized. NFC is cool, takes a while to get used to it and get into the mode of pulling out your phone instead of your wallet.

I'm not gonna hold my breath for Sprint to turn on LTE here in San Diego, so i can't say much about the LTE capabilities BUT as a 3G phone, it's solid.

If you are reading this review then you too are looking for good and bad to help sway your purchase. Be sure and write your own review when you decide to buy something to help out other people. As I write this, there are only six reviews For The LG Viper 4G LTE on Amazon so I thought I would add mine.

Purchased the LG Viper two weeks ago on Amazon since they had a discounted price ($0.01) compared to Sprint ($59) with my two year upgrade. I think I am exactly the customer this phone was designed for. I like new technology, but I am not willing to pay $150-200 for a new phone, so when this one came out that was on the 4G LTE network, had a fast processor and great screen, I immediately went looking at reviews. CNET had reviewed it, as well as Endgaget and several others. They all spoke of the green construction and great camera, but it came out in April and was followed by the "high dollar" phones from Samsung and HTC so you didn't hear anything about this phone after that.

The LG Viper 4G LTE is a very nice looking handset that has a lot of amenities. The weight is good and the size is near perfect for me. I may eventually go with a case for it, but currently don't see an immediate need to. Normal use and keeping it in my pocket have not shown any scratches or wear on the exterior. It comes with a 4GB micro SD card so storage has not been a problem. It says it will support a 32GB card if you want to carry all your music with you.

I was upgrading from another LG phone, the Optimus S, so the button layout was the same. It was a change switching for physical buttons to soft keys, but having them in the same place made the transition easy. The extensive use of recycled materials is a nice feature, but doesn't sway me one way or the other. The phone was released on Earth Day and I am sure they thought the "green" construction would sell more phones, but I am not sure it did. The Gorilla glass was something I had not had before and I am very impressed with...I will be looking for this feature on the next phone I upgrade to. But I was more concerned about the telephone reception. I like have the ability to search the internet when I have a question or have more entertainment options when I am bored but I need a phone to also be a phone! The LG cell reception is equal but not better with the Viper vs. the Optimus S in outlying areas; Both were fine in full coverage. I have no home phone and just use the cell phone, so this was important to me. It does seem to work better while roaming then the Optimus did. The Viper does not sound "tinny" as the professional reviewers have said and I don't have a problem with the external speaker either. At full volume the speaker is too loud to have close up but perfect to have in the cup-holder giving me turn by turn directions. I have used the camera for taking quick snapshots and brief video, and while good enough for Facebook uploads, I will not be using it as my only camera. If this is important to you, go to one of the stores that carry phones and play with it. You may be more impressed than I was.

Others have spoken of the dismal battery life, but I have not seen it. If you have not had a smartphone before, they all are this way. The Viper is better than my previous smartphone on standby and normal use, but using it as a GPS runs it down faster. My best time has been 15 hours with no Bluetooth or GPS on, but wifi was on. The worst was 7 hours with the last two using as my GPS and having the display on the whole time. I have not had as much problem with battery use when on wifi; I was able to watch two Netflix TV 30 min episodes while trying to run my battery down from 15%. You will have to judge your own phone, but this is plenty for me. I already had to keep a phone charger with me at work, so I don't balk at having to do the same now. As for speed, the processor is much faster than what the Optimus had, so downloads are speedy and normal page loading is very quick. As said before I can watch Netflix and play fast moving games without the buffer problem I had before, so I can say I am very pleased with performance.

Unfortunately I do not live in one of the 15 released areas with Sprint 4G LTE, but plan on trying it out in Baltimore next time I go. The speed should increase, but I also expect the battery life will decrease. I will update when I have more info. Bottom line, I am happy with my phone. It was one I would have been happy had I paid more for it, and I felt that it had not had enough good reviews to do it justice. If you are not looking for the newest phone to show off to your friends, you will be happy with the LG Viper.

Still very happy with my phone, screen has held up well. I have been able to leave a few scratches in it, but I do not have a case or screen cover on it; I am surf if I did, they would not be there. The back, being plastic, shows much more wear and though I am not happy with this, I will not deduct a star for it. Making an all aluminum back would have pushed the price much higher and gone away from the green theme that the phone was released with. Battery life has continued to be where it was and I found that while overseas, I can run the phone in airplane mode with wifi on and get more than double what I was getting before (no Sprint service here, so no need to waste battery searching for signal.) Again, there are many phones out there that will beat this one, but it was still free with upgrade last I looked and it is plenty powerful running ICS, so it is the best bang for your buck.

Got this phone about 2 weeks ago and Love It!! Had a blackberry previous to this phone which was nice but the LG Viper is like going from a horse drawn carriage (blackberry) to a Viper race car. The only complaint I have is the battery life, but then I guess all smart phones have short battery life. I have a car charger and plug it in while driving. Also the touch screen is very sensitive, but then I'm not used to it. There are a lot of widgets on the phone which I probley will never use, but they don't seem to slow it down at all. Again I'm very happy with it. Very good phone sound quality and screen quality and also the camera is very, very good. I would recommend this.

I just received my LG Viper this afteroon(6/5) and couldn't be happy with it so far. I've had LG cell phones in the past that worked very well for me so I thought I would give it another chance. The last phone I had Samsung Intercept that gave me nothing but trouble( had to replace the touchscreen once and had it replaced the total phone twice.) So far I was able to downdload apps that my Intercept wouldn't let me do. I took a picture of my son with the phone and it came out clear as day. I know the battery life is a little iffy but I think that I can work with that. I did download an app killer to see if that will help extend the battery. I'm home alot anyway so it easy for me to plug it in when needed. The phone is a little bigger than my Intercept, but it fit well in my wristlet purse. I felt that Amazon gave me a great deal with my Sprint upgrade I only paid $19.99 with free two day shipping ! Sprint would had charged me $86.00 for the same phone !! I'll come back to Amazon when its time to upgrade again. Thanks Amazon. I'll come back later to let you know if I have any problems with my Viper.

The TV sound (which is all I care about) is equally mediocre. The picture is distorted but maybe you can adjust it for widescreen mode -I didn't try. Anyhow, this is another crummy made-in-China piece of electronic junk.

Digital Blue Bakugan Red Alarm Clock Radio by Digital Blue

I got this clock for my son, who just turned 5. It was to encourage him to wake-up on his own better, and learn to tell what time it is more consistantly. He picked it out himself and really enjoys it. It has held-up well and I am generally satisfied with it, but there are a few things I would have done differently if I were designing a clock for kids. There is a big snooze button on top that lights-up...but a young kid usually mistakes this for the "Off" button. My son would often think he'd turned the clock off, but it would go off again later and I'd have to go turn it off myself. The switch to turn it off is a lot smaller, and sometimes I had to turn the switch off and on a few times to get the clock to go off. I can understand that a normal adult clock has a much bigger snooze than off button, I just thought a kid-friendly layout would be a bit different. Generelly a good kids clock, but not as easy for young kids to understand as I had hoped.

I surprised my 10 year old son for his birthday in November. He is obsessed with Bakugan and I thought this was a great way to buy something a little different. Before I ordered it I hadn't seen it in the stores near us yet. He felt like he has something unique to add to his collection. A happy kid is a happy mom

iPod Controls are nice. I would like it to be more like a dock so I can select my songs from the iPod it's self. Sound quality is really nice. The screen is nice, because it will read out the details of the track/audio file that is being played. You can select songs from the radio its self. Tuner works nice. Over all, it was very easy to install. Be sure to buy the wiring harness, because it makes things a lot easier. Be sure to buy your din kit if you need one. Over all, replacing the factory radio, and buying the din kit and wiring harness cost me only $100.00 with free shipping. It probably took a good hour to install. Could take less, or more depending on your vehicle. Installed in a 1997 Dodge Stratus. I'm 17 and I figured it out. I strongly advise you to do research on how to install on your specific car. If you do not feel comfortable installing this yourself, seek professional help such as Best Buy Geek Squad. They charge around $60.00 for install. I did it my self to save some money.

Kenwoods have problems with the removable face. That connection eventually caused the display to stop communicating with the unit every time I went over bump in the road. I sent my 1st one to a shop. couldn't fix it. $45 repair fee down the drain. While I waited 75 days (called everyday) I bought another with a 3 year warranty. I could not find a different brand with the USB port. That is all I really wanted. Now my 2nd Kenwood unit is going black when I push the src button early in the morning. I can feel the face move when I push the button. Fine the rest of the day. I am using my warranty. I am done with Kenwood. Blaupunkt has the USB so I am trying them next. When they work, they are very good units, I like the features too, but once the face connection starts having trouble, you are done.

The Kenwood 252 reciever does exactly what it says. It was easy to install however I did use a wiring harnesses for both my truck (ranger) and the wife's car (Miata) which is the only way to go. We both liked this model mainly for the ipod / iphone player feature using USB port in the front. There aren't many buttons which makes navigating to the album / song pretty easy. It does come with a remote for anyone who needs one. Oveall good price and a good product.

La Crosse Technology WS-7215U-IT Wireless Weather Station, In Humidty & Outside Temperature

Not very accurate for the outside temp. I placed several regular outdoor thermometers that agree with each other near the sending unit and the sending unit reads as much as 5 degrees off either direction. I tried different locations for both the sending unit and display unit. I removed the batteries and did the complete set-up again and still no improvement. Not happy with it.

I have had this weather station since January 09. I have found the temperature to be very accurate (it's stays within 1 degree of a local weather station within 2 miles of my home#. I keep the remote station approximately 25 ft away from the base and have had no problems. Since this setup works for me, I am not sure how good the range is since I have not challenged it.

I love tracking things so I have tracked the battery life since I had it. The base station batteries lasted about a year. It is the remote batteries I am starting to worry about.

The remote batteries lasted 53 days before the first change, then 49 days to the second. It has trended down since then. From May 09 through Nov 09 I have changed the batteries 7 times with an average lifespan of 24 days. The last three times I had to change it the batteries lasted 22, 17, and 17 days respectively.

The batteries obviously do not last as long in cold weather, but I was spoiled by the 53 and 49 days they lasted when I first bought the unit #never came close again#. As the weather warms, I am interested to see if the battery life improves, but so far the trend is going down. Whether it is due to changes in the remote station or related directly to the ambient temperature remains to be seen. Need more data.

It is a bit annoying that you have to remove the batteries from the base unit to reset it everytime you change the batteries in the remote. You would think they would put a reset button on the base station #simple enough, it would just have to interupt the power)to avoid removing the batteries, but that is wishful thinking on my part.

I also had to create a rain shield for my location for the outside remote since it is not water proof.

Overall:

Accuray: Very good

Battery life: Good to fair (another year will tell#

Ease of use: Good

Remote setup: Fair #must be sure it does not get wet)

I would reseach other weather stations for being water proof and battery life before buying again. Not sure if others would be any better. Overall, it has performed very well in giving me an accurate outside temperature and humidity. Would definately buy again if I could not confirm something superior out there in its price range.

My daughters (5 and 7) receieved this alarm clock for Christmas. It is easy for them to turn off in the morning. The display is nice and bright. They love to push the demo button which goes through the 5 different Mater sayings. My only complaint is that it would be hard for a little one to set by themselves, since the buttons are a bit hard to push and they are too far apart for little hands. But sometimes you don't want your kids to be able to set their alarm for 3am! Compared to the other Cars alarm clocks on the market, I'd say this one is the best.

So far I like this clock for my son. It allows him to see the digital time. The ONLY thing I do not like is that it did NOT come with an ac adaptor. It runs solely on batteries with the power pack having to be purchased separately. Had I paid more attention to this detail, I would have not purchased the clock.

I ordered this for my 5-year-old nephew, who loves the Cars movies. When it arrived, I immediately thought, "He's going to like this!" It was so cute. I wanted to see how it worked, but I didn't want to mess up the packaging, so I just wrapped it and sent it to my brother to give him for Christmas. After Christmas, my brother called so my nephew could thank me for it. He said, "Thank you for my Mater." Then he stopped talking, and I thought he'd put the phone down. My brother got on the phone and said, "He's kissing the phone." He said my nephew figured out how to work the clock radio right away and had listened to all the things Mater said. For me this product was aces. That's the first time my nephew has ever sent me kisses over the phone :).

My son has had this clock for 2 years, now. He is now 8 years old and he still absolutely loves it. Now that he's a little older, he can do everything himself. The alarm options are so funny! Granted, hearing them over and over again in the morning does get quite annoying, but alarms are supposed to be annoying! I would definately recommend this item to any CARS fan!

If you're looking for an iPod speaker system, this is an incredible value. There are so many choices in this space and most are garbage. iLuv, iLive, iHome, iwhatever most are extremely mediocre with really lousy sound. This is in a different category sonically. In short the sound is excellent. It will easily fill the room without sounding muddy or tinny. Nicely balanced sound. The iPod integration operates as designed. It would be nice to have a more robust interface to completely control the iPod in the same way you actually use the iPod, but the IK150 leaves little control beyond advancing the track or adjusting volume. And that's okay for the price point it's a great value. Would I rather have a Bose Wave radio? Sure, but you could buy three of these for that price. It also has a solid feel, sexy appearance and nicely simplified controls. My 8 year daughter runs every feature without issue. The white is gorgeous incidentally looks very nice in my daughter's room. I know she's spoiled.

Timer, auxiliary in, externally antenna input nice extras and goes to Kicker's thought process. Or rather is evident that they had one.

Biggest (only) complaint? The volume at it's lowest setting ('1') is too loud. Zero is off completely. If you're going to sleep with music, it really is louder than you would care to have it. Even for background music, it may be too loud for some. It badly needs a '.5' or one more increment of lower sound. I guess you have to ask yourself how often you would use the timer feature. Kicker: fix this and it's perfect.

UPDATE 5/16/2010:

Just spoke w/Kicker. Apparently there is an updated software version addressing the volume issue. If you press M2 & M3 while plugging the unit in, it will display the current software. Mine was 6.6, should be 7.0 as of 6/16 2010. Bummer is the entire unit needs to be sent to Kicker. I'm stuck with shipping there, they pay for return shipping. Will repost once the unit gets back and comment on the 7.0 software update see if it fixes the volume issue.

I had a Sony dock but read about how good Kicker docks sound, particularly with respect to bass. My two biggest issues with my Sony dock were I couldn't get anywhere near enough bass, and the volume wouldn't necessarily go as high as might be nice sometimes. I got my Sony dock for $40 but I know at one point it definitely cost more than that. It was a perfectly acceptable dock. I saw a newer version of, basically, the same Sony dock in the store the other day, and it is $100.

I recently spent $100 more on this Kicker dock ($143, and that was on sale) than my Sony dock and, while it is also a good dock, I don't feel the extra money was justified. The sound quality difference is not that far off, though there is a little more bass maybe and the volume can go high as others have mentioned. At the same time, I am willing to be understanding about the bass due to the size of the unit--when you look at it that way, it does sound pretty good for its size, which is not too much bigger than some alarm clocks are. The music sounds crystal clear and not distorted. It reminds me of how CDs used to sound to us when we first started listening to them, only without the CD spinning sounds. I could listen for hours.

Some of the other problems with it, though:

-I found it a little difficult to operate at first. It's not, in my opinion, an intuitive machine where you can immediately take it out of the box and understand on your own how to work it. I really had to refer to the guide and/or just learn from doing/making mistakes for setting the clock, programming stations, changing the bass/treble, etc. This is probably normal for a lot of people, but this is coming from someone who is good with electronics, knows how to take computers/laptops apart and is pursuing a career in Information Technology, i.e. I don't normally have to refer to guides when I get a new electronic product.

-Um. Conflicting info about which generations of the iPhone/iPod Touch it works with. I'd gotten the impression that this works with my iPod Touch generation from Amazon...for one thing, the site has listed this item under the "frequently bought together with" my generation. The Kicker site and the box this product came in do not list my iPod Touch (I am currently using a 3rd gen iPod Touch). The odd thing is I think the box lists some older iPod Touch/iPhone gens that it works with but not mine...???? Why would it work with 4th and 2nd gen but not my 3rd gen? And so I put my Touch on the dock just to see (because I knew, either way, I could use the auxiliary cable), and it does work...but it's glitchy. If I'm playing music that's on my iPod Touch, songs will just stop in the middle and move on to the next song, settings on the iPod Touch will somehow change and the current song coming to an end will loop back and play again when that's not what was originally selected, and if I am playing music from an application there will be different complications...like, playing music with Slacker, it seems every few songs the current song will just stop in the middle and I go to my iPod Touch to find that the Slacker application has been exited. Sometimes when the iPod Touch is just sitting idle on the dock, it randomly will make sounds, like a sound indicating the dock has just been turned on/plugged in or like the sound it makes when you first hook it up to the dock or a charger. All of this happens even after I have made sure the iPod Touch is securely on the dock. I am, right as I type this, just playing my iPod Touch through the auxiliary cord to avoid these kind of things and am having no problems. I did not have these glitches with the Sony dock, and that dock seems to work fine with most iPod Touch/iPhones.

-Another reason I am using the auxiliary cord and think I generally will just stick with that is because there is no remote included with this dock. My choice was between this Kicker and the iKick501, I believe it's called. Both are lacking in some way--the 501 lacking FM/AM radio, which my Sony had, and this one lacking a remote...um, which my Sony had, also. So, at least with the aux cord, I can just lay my iPod Touch beside me and pick it up when I want to change the song or volume rather than get up and cross the room as if this is the 1970s. And that other iKick costs too much money to JUST be a dock with no radio on it (around $300, and yes, I do still like to see what's on the radio every now and then)...I thought that was nuts.

Conclusion: It does have great volume and sound good, especially for its size (I've had bigger stereos that haven't sounded this good), but I really could have stuck with my cheaper Sony dock or bought that $100 dock from Sears and gotten nearly the same thing with a little bit more in some ways, i.e. a remote control. This is a dock that is similar to the one I had and similar to the one I saw in Sears, if not the exact same one from Sears (and it's cheaper here than in Sears).

I purchased the large Kicker (to use with my iPod), great item I just noticed that randomly the volume would dip low and then return to normal. I called Kicker and they had not heard of the problem but had me do a hard re-set; this did not fix the problem. So I returned it for the ik150 model also a great item but the same problem happened. I exchanged my iPod and tried that, no luck. So I emailed Kicker customer service and asked if they could help again; I told them everything I had done and that I was off to buy a different brand dock and see if the problem would happen and that I was going to hold on to the Kicker until I saw what the other brand did. I bought a nice Sony and did not notice the problem at that time.

The Sr. technician from Kicker called me to say customer service forwarded my email to him. He said at first it made no sense given the two models I purchased were not even configured the same. Then he asked me if I had email and i Cal on my iPod, when I told him yes, he asked if the the iPod's Push was set to on, I said yes. He then said I think we've discovered your problem. He asked me to try and receive an email and a notification from iCal while my iPod is docked with the Kicker; he thought the notifications were causing a disruption in the signal. So, I tried this with both the Kicker and the Sony and YES this was the problem! I was sending and receiving emails with no clue that the notifications were causing the problem. Solution, I removed the emails and turned off Push.

I have to say in todays consumer market having a business actually call and take interest in resolving a problem was refreshing to say the least. The technician was very kind and helpful and asked that I pelase call or email him with my results. Kicker is a wonderful product with great quality and the company really "gets it" when it comes to customer service. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a great iPod dock to buy Kicker!!!

Good sound and system for my iPhone. Only complaint is the display screen. You cannot read it unless your eyes are horizontal with or above the screen level. It you are looking up at it (like in bed) you see nothing but a blue screen, the time cannot be read.

I am a heavy sleeper. I need something to wake my up.
