First the good parts:
* Bluetooth: This is great. I can put my phone or tablet anywhere in the room and have the music come through the speaker on the alarm clock.
* USB charging port: I love that I can plug my phone in on my desk at night without any other device needing to be available. I can charge my phone every night and don't have to think about it.
* Display: I love the big numbers and the quiet light. You can adjust the display level from super bright to super dim. I believe there are 4 light levels that can be chosen, and you can choose to have the nightlight or not. If the nightlight is on it reflects the same level as the display. I chose to have it off.
* FM Reception: This gets much better reception than my previous clock.
Second the "meh" parts:
* The speakers are not bad for alarm clock speakers... but they are still obviously alarm clock speakers.
* The tuning and volume nobs could use an indentation to make them easier to turn. As they are you can't comfortably push to turn, but there's not quite enough to grasp to turn either. They aren't horrible, but they could be better.
* If you want to snooze, and you hit the snooze button then you are good to go. If you miss and hit some other button then the alarm turns OFF. I haven't missed yet, but I can see how this might be a problem on a very early, groggy morning.
Finally the bad parts:
* Auto time set just didn't work, and not just because of a time zone. It could be because I have it running through a surge protector or something, but the minutes portion wasn't even close, whereas if it was a time zone issue the minutes would have at least been correct.
* Gentle wake just doesn't work. It's supposed to slowly get louder over the course of 2 minutes so you are gently awakened. The first morning I expected to be soothed awake (is that possible?) with gentle music or talking from my selected FM station. It was about 4 seconds and this thing was blaring. I have tested it when awake to be sure I wasn't so soothed I slept through the quiet part. It is literally around 4 seconds before it's so loud you are ready to just kill it. I would even be ok with that if I could set the maximum volume level, but it disregards any volume level you have set and just starts yelling. I guess as an alarm clock it works because I find that I'm so worried about waking my wife that I regularly wake 10-15 minutes before the alarm goes off and lay in bed waiting for it to go off so I can get to it quickly.
* Customer support. I emailed them regarding the volume and the gentle wake feature. This was several weeks ago and I have not heard back from them. I don't suspect I ever will.
I've used this with Nexus 10, Nexus 7, and Nexus 4 devices without any issues.
0 stars because of the wake feature. The main function should be the alarm since it's an ALARM CLOCK, and I consider it broken. I give it one star for the bluetooth, and one star for the USB charging port.

The HMDX Audio HX Cube is a bluetooth enabled alarm clock. Your bluetooth music device will sync with the system and you can play your music through it. Out of the box, it contains a completely self-contained system with a power cord and antennae cord.As soon as I opened it up, I tested out the syncing capability. I used my iPhone 4S to sync to it. It was extremely simple and straight-forward and found my phone in under a minute. Once it was synced, I could hit "play" on my phone, and it streamed directly to the clock. It says it has a 30' range, but that is a clear range, meaning no thick walls between your device and the unit. At 20' (the most clear distance we had) and around a corner, it responded instantly.
Sound-wise, I thought it was pretty good for a "clock radio". It is certainly not as good as some of the higher end direct sync systems, but it isn't bad, by any stretch. I know another reviewer had trouble with the radio part, but for me, the radio feature worked fine. I do live just outside a big city and get a lot of power from my local radio stations, so I don't know if that is a factor.
Other features: It has a USB port on the back, making it able to charge multiple types of devices. As we are pretty much i____ people, we use it to charge our iPhones and iPods. I like having the USB plug in the back, as that way I can charge whatever I want, as long as it connects with a USB cord (it doesn't have to be a bluetooth device). The USB port does not sync the phone, so it is only a charger. There is also an audio port on the back where you can hook up any non-bluetooth devices. The sound quality through that port is not as good as the bluetooth connection (weird), but it may be the quality of the cable (included). I haven't tried other cables, so I can't comment.
Clock: As a clock, it is like most other clocks in its features (alarm, snooze). I do like that the alarm settings can be set different for the weekday, weekends or all week, for those of us who have different weekend and weekday schedules. It will sync to the correct time when you use Bluetooth, which I like. It is bright (bright!), but I don't have it near my bed, so it doesn't bother me. It also comes with this cool "undercarriage" light that will light up the bottom of the clock. Not sure what it is for, but it looks really neat in the dark.
Overall, I was satisfied with the product. I wasn't expecting great sound quality, but for a clock radio, it was better than average. The only drawback is the price, as it seems a bit pricy for what it is. I own a Sony clock and iProduct docking station that cost more, but it had huge speakers and wasn't as good in terms of its clock features. The sound from the Sony is much better, but then there is no bluetooth capabilities. So, overall, it is a trade-off, but I still am enjoying this bluetooth alarm clock.

I honestly couldn't find a single good thing to say about this clock. Ok, it has a nightlight on the bottom.The biggest problem we ran into was the fact that the controls frequently and completely locked up on multiple occasions. Unplugging it didn't reset it, but unscrewing the cover and removing the button sized backup battery did. For a few days, then it would lock up again.
The last straw was when the clock went off this morning in my kid's room -woke up my daughter and my grandson in the adjacent room. At 5:45AM. The clock froze and wouldn't go into snooze or off.

I installed this into my 2003 Honda Element. I used the 70-1721 wiring harness from this site. All the wires are pre-cut so wiring was easy.
The unit itself is fairly easy to navigate around, any dumbass can do it. The sound is incredible, the one thing I like is you can preset the sound to any level when it starts-I sometimes forget I blast it!
Navigation is quick, it boots up and finds me from 10-15 seconds. The user interface for this is also very easy, again any dumbass can use it.

Display Features
2-DIN Chassis: The Jensen VM9424 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as Double DIN or size DD), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve.

6.2" Touchscreen Display: The Jensen VM9424 features a fixed 6.2" wide, 16:9 touchscreen display with a TFT active matrix system. The screen has a resolution of 1440 (H) x 234 (V) with 336,960 total pixels. This unit has touch screen controls with interactive video graphics, making menu navigation easy. The unit has a front-loading disc-slot to make loading your disc easier because there is no panel to slide or fold-down.
Aspect Ratio: You can choose from the following aspect ratio modes for the unit's integrated monitor:
* Full: The entire screen is extended horizontally to the aspect ratio of 16:9.
* Normal: The conventional display image has a 4:3 aspect ratio of horizontal to vertical, leaving a blank area on the right and left sides of the display.
Dimmer: You can adjust the picture's brightness manually, or set the display to automatically dim when ambient light is low.
PRK SW: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In order to display video, the supplied pink wire must be hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's parking brake must be engaged. The pink parking brake wire is used to connect to your parking brake light wire (video on the LCD monitor can only be displayed when this unit's pink PRK SW wire senses that the parking brake has been engaged in the vehicle).
Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touch-panel controls, the VM9424 also features hard-key controls on the left edge of the screen. The unit offers a rotary volume control, source button, NAV button, and eject button.
12 or 24 Hour Clock: You can set the unit to display a 12 or 24 hour clock.
Anti-Theft Feature: The VM9424 is equipped with an anti-theft feature requiring you to enter a 6-digit password upon initial power-on.
Built-in Navigation
Horizon NavMate Navigation System: The Jensen VM9424 features a built-in navigation system to lead you straight to your desired destination. It's easy-to-use and intuitive interface lets you plan your trip to suit your personal preferences and interests, find and save (bookmark) interesting destinations before you begin your trip, and navigate your route.
GPS (Global Positioning System): The VM9424 uses a vehicle GPS-based navigation device which utillizes digital map data to guide you form your selected location (A) to your desired destination (B), using information obtained from a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
Note: The initial GPS location lock is best established when your vehicle is in park. If the device is in motion, the signal can take longer to initially connect. Once the initial coordinates are established, the navigation software will follow you as you move and navigate.
Tele Atlas Map Data: The navigation map data covers the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Visual & Audible Commands: The built-in navigation software will guide you along the shortest or quickest route from point-A to point-B using an on-screen map and voice commands. You can choose between a male or female voice (English only).
Map Screen: During navigation the Map Screen display your route (in yellow) and your surroundings. A red/blue arrow indentifies your current position. The upcoming maneuver is visualized in the upper left corner, along with the distance and approximate time before that turn. When you come up to a turn, you will hear a voice command at the appropriate time.
2D/3D Map: You can changes the perspective of the map from 2D North-Up (displays the map in 2 dimensions with North at the top), 2D Track-Up (displays the map in 2 dimensions with your direction of travel at the top of the screen), 3D Track-Up (displays the map in 3 dimensions with your direction of travel at the top of screen). You can also choose a split-screen which displays both a 2D and 3D map side-by-side.
Color Modes: Select between Day (for a bright background), Night (for a dark background) or Auto (to automatically switch between the two).
Look Ahead Feature: The integrated NavMate software offers a convenient interactive look-ahead search function to prevent misspelling when entering in a destination using the units touchscreen keyboard. Only keys that lead to a search result can be pressed, while all other are grayed out.
Destination Search: The Jensen VM9424 offers the following destination search modes.
* Home: Allows you to save your home address, so you can quickly navigate to your house from anywhere.
* Office: Allows you to save your office address, so you can navigate back to it quickly.
* Address: Allows you to enter an address (street, city, zip-code) as a destination.
* Intersection: You can select to navigate to where to roads intersect.
* Coordinates: Route to a destination by directly entering latitude and longitude values.
* POI: Allows you to select from a points-of-interest directory (over 10 million) for your destination. You can quickly find POIs such as gas stations, restaurants, hotels, banks, movie theaters, etc. You can even create your own POI category. These places can be near your current position or near a selected State or Province.
* Favorites (Address Book): You can save your favorite destinations and addresses, so you can quickly access them.
* Recent History: Previous destinations (up to 15) are automatically saved to memory (History). This feature helps you quickly locate the address and return to a previous destination.
* Browse: Or, you can simply browse the map and press a spot on the map to navigate to.
Route Preferences: You can determine how the unit's built-in navigation software will calculate your route by setting the following preferences.
* Shortest Time: Calculate route based on the fastest time.
* Avoid Freeway: Try not to use highways when calculating routes.
* Avoid Tolls: Do not use toll roads when calculating routes.
* Use Ferries: Use ferry travel when calculating routes.
Simulation: This function lets you preview the route that has been calculated for your destination.
Intersection Zoom: As you approach an intersection, the map will automatically zoom in to show a close-up view of the roads near the intersection point on the right side of the screen.
Auto Reroute: If you intentionally or accidentally leave the current route, the NavMate software will automatically recalculate the route and prompt you to get back on track to your destination.
Turn-by-Turn List: While navigating, you can view a turn-by-turn list of upcoming maneuvers.
Detour: If you are unable to complete the route as calculated, you can add a Detour to the route that will allow you t stay on track to your destination.
Trip Computer: The Trip Computer provides information about your vehicle speed, trip related timing, elevation, odometer, and clock readings.
Trail Book: The Trail Book feature allows you to create a path using map points when navigation data is not available.
Trip Book: The Trip Book is a collection of trips, with each trip representing a set of multiple destinations.

D/A Converter: The VM9424 is equipped with a high-performance 24-bit, 192kHz digital-to-analog converter with a multi-bit Sigma-Delta modulator.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the VM9424 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the VM9424 are as follows:

5-Channel Audio Preamp Outputs: This unit has five audio preamp outputs (stereo Front, stereo Rear, and mono Sub). In addition, the subwoofer preamp output has an adjustable low pass crossover (80/100/120/140/160Hz), and level adjustment (-7 to +7)
Start Volume: You can set the headunit to turn-on to the last volume level adjustment when turned off, or turn-on to a pre-defined volume level every time you power up the radio.
Preset EQ: Preset EQ curves are stored into memory, allowing you to recall the best setting for different types of music. You may choose from the following presets: Jazz, Pop, Classical, Rock, News, Urban, Rave, Movie, Techno, Flat, or User.
3-Band EQ: In the User EQ mode, you are able to manually adjust the headunit's Bass, Midrange, and Treble. You can also choose the center frequency to be adjusted.
Source Level: You can increase the relative volume (-7 to +7) of the unit's source inputs to match the external source's output level. The Source Level can be used for the VM9424's Radio, Disc, USB, SD, iPod, Auxiliary, Navigation, or Bluetooth (optional).
Beep Tones: An audible beep tone confirms each function selection. The beep tone can be disabled/enabled in the Setup Menu.
Heat Management: The unit has a heat management system which incorporates forced-air cooling to keep the chip-sets operating at nominal temperatures for reliable operation and sound quality.
Radio Functions
AM/FM Tuner: The headunit features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, preset, and direct tuning.
Preset Tuning: The unit features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands with the capability of storing 6 presets for each band giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 12 AM presets (30 total). You can also automatically store the six strongest stations in your area inside the current selected band.
Preset Scan: In addition, the tuner features a Preset Scan function which allows you to preview your stored preset stations in the selected band.
Direct Tuning: The built-in AM/FM tuner also allows direct frequency tuning through the unit's touch-screen panel or supplied wireless remote control.
Local Seek: The unit's tuner also is equipped with a Seek mode that when used with the Local function, only allows radio stations with a strong local radio signals to be played.
European Tuning: The tuner features selectable North America and European tuning.
XM Satellite Radio: To receive XM Satellite Radio connect the optional CNP2000UCA XM Tuner and the CNP-JEN1 Jensen adapter cable (package item number 700XMJEN2, sold separately).
Disc/SD-card Playback
Disc Compatibility: The VM9424 is compatible with the following discs:
* DVD: DVD Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+RW DL
* VCD: Video CD, Super Video CD
* CD: Audio CD (CD-DA), CD-R, CD-RW
* Compressed Files: MP3, WMA, JPEG, MPEG 1/2
Note: 8 cm discs should not be used in this unit.
MP3/WMA Playback: The VM9424 can play MP3/WMA files with ID3 Tag capability that have been recorded on CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW discs. The files must be recorded in ISO 9660 or Joliet formats. The recommended bit rate is 128 kbps and sample frequency of 48 kHz. Up to 1500 songs/files can be supported from a compatible disc. This unit will only recognize 3 folder levels.
JPEG Playback: The unit supports playback of JPEG still images recorded on CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW discs. You can view a thumbnail display of available images as well as rotate a selected image 360-degrees in 90-degree increments.
SD Card Slot: The Jensen VM9424 is equipped with a front-panel SD-card slot. The headunit supports playback of MP3/WMA (128kbps) audio files recorded on SD/SDHC memory cards up to 8GB. It will also playback JPEG still images stored on an SD/SDHC card. Up to 1500 songs/files can be supported from a compatible disc. This unit will only recognize 3 folder levels.
Note: SD/SDHC-memory cards larger than 8GB are not supported.
DVD Touch-Screen Controls: While playing a DVD you can press the screen to access disc information and playback functions. The following are some of the playback controls that are displayed when the bottom of the screen is pressed while viewing a DVD disc.
* Fast Forward/Fast Reverse: When playing a DVD, there are four fast-play speeds in both directions: 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x.
* Repeat Play: When playing a DVD, you can repeat the current chapter or title.
* A-B Repeat: A-B Repeat allows you to repeat any portion of a DVD.
* Direct Search: During DVD you can use the numeric keypad on the remote control or on the touch-screen display to access a chapter directly.
Note: When playing a Video CD, the repeat function is not available. For MP3/WMA, you can repeat the current file.
Random Play: When playing a CD disc, you can play the tracks or files in random order.
Intro Scan: During CD-audio playback you can play the first 10 seconds of each track or file.
Multi-Angle Display: This function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a number of different angles.
Note: This function is limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles.
Zoom: When playing DVDs and Video CDs, you can enlarge the picture using the zoom feature. You can choose one of four zoom settings.
Parental Lock: The DVD system has a built-in Parental Lock feature to prevent unauthorized persons from viewing restricted disc content. By default, the rating system is unlocked. You can choose from 8 different levels of Parental Lock. Once setup, the parental lock is released only by entering the user 4-digit password.
Off Eject: You can eject a disc with the unit powered off. You cannot insert a disc with the headunit powered off.
Mounting: For proper operation of the CD/DVD player, the chassis must be mounted with 30-degrees of horizontal.
Media Link Module
MediaLink Module: The Jensen VM9424 utilizes a separate MediaLink module for easy connection and disconnection of your iPod, portable A/V equipment, or other portable MP3 player. The MediaLink features an AV 3.5mm minijack and a USB type-A port. The MediaLink uses an attached 5' AV/USB cable that plugs into the rear chassis of the VM9424, which allows the MediaLink module to be installed under the dash or in other various locations to make hooking-up and unhooking your portable A/V equipment much easier. Dimensions: W = 2.375", H = 0.8125", D = 3.0"
Audio/Video Input: The included MediaLink features a 3.5mm AV input for connecting a portable audio/video device such as a portable digital media player.
USB Port: The Jensen VM9424's MediaLink module features a USB type-A port for playback of MP3 (128kbps) and WMA (128kbps) audio files recorded in FAT 16 or FAT32 on a connected USB flash memory device, as well as USB portable hard drives formatted to FAT 32. The headunit also support JPEG still image playback via USB. Up to 1500 songs/files can be recognized from one USB mass storage device (it will only recognize 3 folder levels). The VM9424HD will also display ID3 tag information.
iPod Control: The optional jLink-USB cable ( 110JLINUSB, sold separately) allows you to connect select iPods or iPhones to this unit through the headunit's included MediaLink module (using both the USB port and AV 3.5mm input). Once an iPod/iPhone is connected, you can playback audio/video content from your iPod/iPhone on the VM9424. The Jensen headunit will also display text information such as song, track or artist name from your connected iPod. You can directly control audio/video functions of your iPod from the headunit's touchscreen or supplied IR remote. During audio playback of your iPod/iPhone, the click-wheel and touch-screen controls will be locked. Your iPod/iPhone is also charged when it is connected to the headunit. If you only require iPod/iPHone audio playback, you can simply connect your iPod/iPhone to the VM9424 via the USB/Dock connector cable that came with your iPod/iPhone. The Jensen VM9424 and optional jLink-USB cable are "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and support the following iPod/iPhone model features (as of April 2010):
iPod/iPhone Photo Playback: Your iPod's clickwheel or touchscreen is locked during music and video playback. However, to view photos, you will need to use your iPod's clickwheel or touchscreen to control playback.
iPod Video Playback: The VM9424 does not support video playback from the iPod video (5th gen) when used with the jLink-USB cable. Instead the headunit requires an AV minijack connection for video playback of your iPod video (5th gen), which offers no information display, control, or charging.
Dual Video Outs: Dual rear-panel RCA composite video-output jacks allow you add external monitors such as rear headrest monitors (sold separately).
Multi-zone Audio Outputs: The VM9424 is equipped with a pair of stereo RCA outputs which can be used in conjunction with the dual video outputs for dual zone playback. The unit will only play the DVD/CD source for Zone 2.
AV Input: The Jensen VM9424 features a front-panel 3.5mm AV input for easy connection of your portable MP3 player.
Rear View Camera Input: The VM9424 features a composite video input and a green/white wire lead attached to the harness for connection of a rear view camera. If a rear-view video camera is connected, the unit is on, and the TFT monitor is retracted inside the unit, the TFT monitor automatically moves into the viewing position and Camera modes is selected upon shifting into Reverse gear. When shifting into Drive gear, the TFT monitor is retracted back inside the unit. If the monitor is already in a viewing position and in display mode, the monitor automatically switches to Camera mode upon shifting into Reverse. When the reverse driving stops, the monitor returns to its original input display mode. You can choose for the monitor to display a Mirror mode image or a Normal mode image from the rear-view camera.

I first saw this Nav Radio while on Vacation and noted the model number. I would have bought it then at the store price of 549.00 but I didn't have the room to take it. When I got home I did some research and found it on Amazon for 399.00. At that price for a Nav Radio with all of the features I though Ok lets give it a shot.I received the product quickly and installed it the next day. If you have installed car stereos in the past this should be no problem. Just take your time and get the mating factory connector. The toughest part was deciding where to stuff all of the unused connectors as I didn't need the rear monitors or additional AV inputs.
I purchased a Dash Kit from Metra (also through Amazon) which fit the cars dash perfectly although needed to be trimmed to fit the radio, no big deal. A steering wheel control module, and the BT15 blue tooth kit as well.
All said and done everything works fine and even the rear backup cam that I all ready had in the car from a previous install just plugged right in. If you have a factory sub-woofer remember to add a 1500 ohm resistor to the amp turn on to eliminate the pop when the amp turns on.
Radio reception is as good or better than the factory Radio
Blue tooth works flawlessly ... using a Samsung OmniaII WM6.5 phone (downloads 350 numbers from address book only) It even plays MP3's from my phones media player. DVD Player works well (not that you watch DVD's while driving LOL) The Nav system is typical.
If you are looking to upgrade a factory radio with spending a fortune this system will do it.
So why only four stars? well I travel between the USA and Canada, and the unit did not include Canadian Map data, had to purchase new map data for another 50.00! Not really a big deal however almost all Nav radios these day's include USA/Canada data. I guess I could have contacted Jensen's customer support about this but I didn't really think that they would do anything and couldn't be bothered.

First, installation was a breeze. First attempt with connecting my battery back on and the unit was fully functional. I would only recommend self-installation of this unit if you have installed CD decks in the past.Navigation function is awesome! No delay on finding my location even upon first start-up! It seems the NAV is always working in the background which makes switching to it seamless.
Ipod function is great. You only need the accessory cord if you want to view videos from ipod or iphone. Music pauses for incoming call from iPhone.
Great addition to any vehicle.

In addition to the head unit, I also had the Bluetooth adapter, rear-view camera and steering-wheel control module installed. For videos, it plays DVDs as well as MPEG files from an SD card. I believe it also reads video files from the iPod/iPhone connection, but I haven't tried it. You can stream music files through Bluetooth. Once paired, the phone connects to the system automatically.
The navigation works well enough gets your location and calculates the route fairly quickly, though you need to download and install the free software update to fix the volume issues. The system boots up in good time (which is key if you have the rear-view camera) and the touchscreen is very responsive check out the video more details. Biggest issue I've had is with transferring phone contacts it re-transfers the contacts every time you restart the unit. And the contacts don't appear to be displayed in any type of order.
Overall, it's a nice value head unit that pretty much does everything. Would highly recommend purchasing the Bluetooth module (part BTM15).

Ipod controls on the unit are not so good. Some older Ipods are locked out and you need to use the controls on the dash. When you use the on ipod controls on a supported ipod/iphone the dash display for song info does not update.
Like other reviewers have said, the touch screen is recessed. If your radio is low on the dash area, you cannot see the top 1/4" of screen. Annoying when entering GPS locations, can't view clock.
POI search is not great.
At one point, my BT connectivity stopped working. Had to factory reset the unit and it repaired itself.
1 heads up: If you are doing a self install, make sure to remove the 2 phillips head screws in the top of the unit before you mount it in the dash (DVD/CD lock for shipping). If you do not, discs will not load.
Sony Ericsson LT15a Xperia Arc Unlocked Phone with Android 2.3 and 4.2-Inch Multi-Touch Display--U.S
The Xperia line is really starting to shine. I love the Arc LT15a. Works great on AT&T with 3.5G HSDPA data. Not carrier crippled like so many other Android phones. For example, you can install unsigned apps (like Amazon AppStore). USB tethering and WiFi hotspot work right out of the box (unlike Atrix). Works fine with MS Exchange (does not have the Gingerbread/Exchange bug like Dell Streak Mini 5). HDMI works as it should, simply mirroring the entire display to an HDTV (unlike Sprint EVO). The 854x480 16:9 aspect display is perfect for watching movies (unlike 800x480 Inspire 4G). Real hardware keys up front that wake up the display so you don't need the tiny power button on the top edge (unlike Infuse 4G). Very fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 processor (not the old 8250 incorrectly listed in the specs). No proprietary connectors. So thin. So light. Cool accessories. My only wish is for a front facing camera. Overall I like the Galaxy S2 better but Arc is so much cheaper. Keep up the good work Sony!Pros:

Not have any doubt about buying this phoneThere is an issue that other arc owners have been reporting which is evident in my unit a jostling or bumping of the phone causes it to reboot. One owner in the U.K. indicated the solution is to place foam disks inside the battery cover to keep the battery terminals securely attached when the phone is handled roughly (the battery cover curves away from the battery as part of the arc for which the phone is named). Unfortunately this has not helped.
Other than this nuisance rebooting (which occurs at least twice a day for me, usually when I put the phone down on a hard surface), the phone is a great demonstration vehicle for Android. The newest arc has a dual core processor, which is definitely desired as the single core often struggles.

The light on the screen has brightness settings that I can turn way up or all the way black, this is great for sleeping and waking up to practically use it as a night light. There are two alarm settings and they are easy to set. The buttons on the top and front are minimal and not complicated to find or use. The speakers on this were a surprise.... music comes through loud and clear, not tons of bass obviously but loud and clear. And for a little wire antenna that just hangs down, I get in all my local radio stations perfectly.
Also, probably the most important feature is that it has a battery in it so, when the power goes out, it stays on. The controller is responsive from weird angles, which I have to say, I've had other Pyle equipment where the controller wasn't very good so, I was happy about this one was worked.
The lighting settings, the speakers, easy alarm settings and the battery feature are the best things about this alarm clock. It looks great and is a very well thought out size for a night stand. Two thumbs up from me.

This is a much better alternative to most of the iPod clock radios I've tried in the past. The sound quality is excellent. I haven't had any problems with static when playing my iPod Touch...which was common with other brands. The controls are a little complicated and take some time getting used to. The one big discrepancy I want to point out is that this model does not have a color changing display. There are multiple settings for changing the brightness, but you cannot select different LCD colors. The display is a black background and white digits/symbols.After researching other radio alarm clocks that also supported iPOD docking, found the PICL58 on Amazon. Placed order for the unit as a Christmas present. My daughter was absolutely thrilled with the radio alarm clock. The size is perfect for placing on her night stand, and produces good quality sound and volume. However there is a BIG "but". The User interface system that Grace uses is archaic. It's been awhile, and I'm dating myself here, but I felt like I was programming the clock on my hi-fi that I got in 1980 (that still had an 8-track player in it BTW). All the initial setup uses the Tuner's knob and the frame refresh rate makes the display constantly flash if you scroll faster than say 1 or 2 channels a second. The display only shows a few stations/songs at a time and there is no way to fast forward or go back beyond the simply pushing the forward and back buttons over and over and over again so you basically have none of the time-saving buttons that we have all come accustomed to in your basic $25 stereo or any car radio built in the last 10 years. And just wait until you want to queue up more than 2 or 3 songs at a time I think it took me about 2 or 3 minutes to setup music that then only played for maybe 10 min a huge waste of time because when you pick a song (or a radio station), the unit goes back to the top of the list for your next selection and NOT to the place where you last selected. So like if I chose a station called "Klassic Kristian" music, scrolling all the way down from "AAA AM" (and going from A to K on the radio takes a LONG TIME), the next time I want to pick a station (mind you w/o turning the tuner off) it is back up at the top at "AAA AM". As you can probably assertain for yourself, I have never gotten out of the "A's" on the internet radio because 1) there are so many stations and 2) it takes so long to scroll down. Which means that I basically use about 10% of it's capability a huge waste of this unit's vaste potential. After you do the initial setup, there is no interface with the front of the unit everything is on the remote so God forbid if you lose that sucker.
So the Pandora and internet radio are really, honestly God sends and this unit plays them with crystal clarity. I really love the look of it and there is a vast potential that I have yet to even tap. However, the interface system is so awful that I rarely bother. I've had it setup in my house for 4 months and I think I've only used it half a dozen times and my kids don't even try it just takes way too much time. What a crying shame...
(As a caveat, I have read in some of these reviews that you can download an I-Pod app that allows your I-Pod to act as an advanced remote. Although I have not tried it, I sold the radio in frustration about 3 months after I got it, this would be a huge benefit. However it wouldn't change my rating as 1) not everyone has an I-Pod and 2) you shouldn't have to use a 3rd party device in order to get the darn thing into the 21st century). Heck if you are going to have to use your iPod anyway, why not just hook it up to a docking station and listen to Pandora...

It is a very strong performer with lot of features. The team that came up the specs did a wonderful job. Tonnes and tonnes of features. WIFI, Radio, Alarm clock, DLNA music client, Windows network share, headphone output, digital SPDIF and Optical output etc etc. I can't find any thing lacking in terms of connectivity or features. Once I plugged and connected every thing it worked flawless, I didnt hear any noise or jitter. Played well with tough AKG headphones, digital output quality was fantastic. I didnt hear any difference between Audio CD and DLNA streamed media. I use a Bel canto DAC3 as external DAC. Features wise it is top notch. I dont think any one who buys this will miss any thing. It found almost all the radio stations, lot of variety. It has support for high bit rate audio via digital output, in built DAC can only support 16 bit audio.Now comes the cons. All of them are related to the User Interface, Remotecontrol and LCD screen. The LCD screen is a pre-historic 4 frames/sec refresh screen. If you scroll faster it blinks and is hard to read. The menu system has lot of issues. Every time you hit return it goes back to the start the list. Let's say you have 1000 songs in your folder, you want to play the 500 and 501th song. In IPod you go scroll down choose the 500th song once it is over, you can just go down and choose the 501th song. Here it goes back to 1st, then you have to scroll down again to choose 501th. It get annoying when you want to put more than 10 songs in the queue. You have to scroll down 10 times. The remote control is useless, all the initial configuration like WPA key etc has to be done via the knob. You can't do the initial configuration like setting up WPA via remote control, you have to use the dial and there is no easy way to do DEL or BACKSPACE. Every thing from setting time to WPA key has to be done via the front panel buttons and knobs. There is another annoying bug with media streaming, it skips the first 10 seconds.
There is no pause, next, prev buttons on the front panel. You need to use the remote for that. For scrolling down(which you will do a lot). If not for the user interface annoyance, it will be a 5 start product. Unable to measure jitter as my sound card input didnt work, from what I could hear I sounded flawless. Iam not expecting great things from the inbuilt DAC, it is probably as good as cheap laptop DACs. Use a external DAC or your pre-amp DAC to get the best sound.
I replaced the default wireless duck with a larger 5db antenna, it improved the range a lot. Now I see 5 bars all across on the other side of the house. It is a very strong performer, if you are willing to forgive some of the user interface annoyances.Wow! What a sweet device this is for the even the not so techo-inclined. Installation was a breeze as there were only 2 cables to hook-up: power, and RCA jacks. I piped it into my receiver and hit the power button and bingo! it found my network over it's installed handy dandy wireless network adapter (G). It prompted me for my password, which I entered (by turning the knob, which was kind of a pain) and it connected no problem. You can also wire your connection through the network cable slot in the back, however, no network cable was included.
After that, I chose internet radio and I had choices galore. The real beauty of this device is how you can personalize it. Got a Pandora account? Pipe it through this baby with ease. How about Live365? You can do that too. Want to search the internet radio via genre? No sweat. Absolutely amazing I tell you.
I created my Grace account, added stations online and podcasts and after unplugging the device and plugging back in (yah, they tell you to do that so it updates the streams), my customization was found on the device and away I went.
Here is the absolute frosting on the cake...I'm now streaming all of my music from my laptop and external hard drive to this device! Sort by genre, album, album artist, create a queue, you name it, this thing can do it. This kills the Windows Media Center that never worked right with my 360.
Who knew you could have so much fun with a radio??Confessionwe moved into our house about four years ago and we *still* haven't set up our stereo. Our computers, iPhones, and iPods have sort of made music very portable, so we didn't really feel a huge need for any sort of stereo/radio in our living room.
However, a few months ago I started listening to Pandora radio on my iPhone and got hooked. For those who haven't tried it yet, it's basically a custom internet radioyou type in the name of bands, musicians, genres of music and Pandora creates a personal radio station for you based on your musical interests. They also have several stations programmed that you can choose from if you just want to pick a genre of music and go from there. It's better than satellite because not only is it customized to your tastes, but it's absolutely free (commercials are minimaljust a small spot every ten or fifteen songs.) I tried to figure out a way to get Pandora into the living room, on a *bigger* scale, but came up with nothing.
Then the Grace Digital Tuner came along and it's the *perfect* solution.
Even though we have no official "stereo" equipment, we simply plugged the tuner into out 40" flat screen and instant home stereo! The tuner is very low profile and slid right over our TiVo. It's very attractive and lightweight.
WE LOVE THIS TUNER. We're not big "stereo/entertainment system" people, but this tuner has us a bit giddy. I love how easy it is to use and how easy it was to access *my* Pandora settings (saved on the Pandora website and accessed wirelessly by the tuner) and get my personalized stations playing through the Tuner.
The first thing we did after we unpacked it was plug it in to the wall and the TV (the tuner does come with a remote, a power cord and antenna, but you need to provide your own cords), and turned it on (power switch in back). Immediately it recognized our WiFi and presented us with a list of wireless networks. Entering a password was a little tedious, but once you get it in there, it remembers it.
The tuner got online, updated both the firmware and software automatically. To access Pandora, we went into the "settings" of the Tuner, and the tuner registered itself over the internet, and displayed a code on the LCD display on the front of the unit. We went to the Grace website, set up an account, entered the code, and we were able to access our Pandora settings.
We haven't tried setting up our satellite radio account with it yet, but with Pandora, I'm not sure we will even bother. We were able to access several internet radio stations and FM radio stations as well.
The unit came with a power cord and antenna, but we needed a digital/audio cable or RCA audio cables to hook it up to our TV.
Final word of recommendation:
GET THE IPHONE APP FOR THE TUNER! It is available free from the iPhone app store (doesn't seem to work on the iPad though...). The app basically turns your iPhone into an advanced remote control for the tuner scans the network for any receivers and recognizes them and lets you control several aspects of the tuner from your phone, including volume, station tuning, etc.. It pulls up information for the music playing, as well. However, you can't turn the unit on from the iPhonewhen the tuner isn't on, it's not active on the network. Not sure if this would be the case if the tuner were plugged into our network.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a simple way to bring radio (internet, satellite, or otherwise) into their homes.

Most other reviewer ratings are pretty accurate as far as usability and value. The Grace GDI-IRDT200 is a unique, rare find a true internet radio tuner made to compliment an existing audio system. Audiophiles will like its clean rack format and analog, optical and digital outputs. It has a pretty decent analog FM tuner it picked up most local FM stations with its little 3 foot supplied antenna, where as my vintage higher end NAD and Marantz gear insist on a large attic FM antenna.So take my 3 stars and the following with a grain of salt since this is a high value unit at $150 (a Grace refurbished unit from Amazon, which looked like brand new) it's not reasonable for me to be too picky at this price level.
Interface: As others have noted, the interface is dated and you will be pressing a LOT of buttons. Button-city is is OK for one time setup duties, but not for daily operation since at some point you want to relax and easily change music and not be a button minion. It has the same poor ergonomics as many badly designed after market car stereo head units, so if you are OK with those, you are OK here. Sadly, basic functions like simple front panel/remote control one-push presets buttons to switch between my favorite stations and my local DLNA/UPnP media server, are missing from the Grace and in all fairness, from almost all other modern audio gear (when did endless, serial menus, needed to accomplish basic functions, became desirable to consumers, other than for cost savings?). A web browser interface, like used for home networking gear, would go a long way.
Operation: The unit was decent to setup and wifi configuration was no more complicated than a basic router or firewall network appliance, WAP, dedicated IP and all. It quickly found my 3COM wifi access point and never had a single wifi issue during a few days of 24 hour use. The unit is good looking, well made, it does not run hot an issue for other appliances like fanless DVRs, some of which will overheat themselves to death. In contrast to earlier Amazon reviews, this particular unit uses a very tiny switching power supply-wall wart, which even after a couple of days, was barely warm to the touch. Also very nice even after removing AC power for an hour, settings were not lost a notable plus.
Local Streaming: It detected and worked well with my Synology Diskstation DLNA/UPnP server, only getting lost once and requiring a reboot (rear panel full on/off switch) in order to find the Synology server music playlist again.
My Issue: The real reason why I rate this 3 stars and not 4 or 5, and sadly must return it; the GDI-IRDT200 only supports specific premium internet stations listed on the Grace website. The premium stations Grace does support are really great, but I also use others like sky.fm premium which it cannot support (i.e. there is no way on the GDI-IRDT200 to enter the user ID and Password for other premium providers). I wish Grace would have made it clear that other premium stations are 'not' supported, since I have spent years streaming using a ubiquitous spare laptop connected to my audio system, with no limitations what so ever. I understand Grace can only negotiate and support so many premium stations, and suspect this is common to other internet radio appliances. To most of you, this will likely be an irrelevant, tiny nit, if at all.
Support: My use of Grace support was great I emailed support at 7pm asking about premium support and got a decent response a couple hours later, on a Friday night no less.
Summary: If it was not for this one premium station support limitation issue, I'd give this 4 or 5 stars and have it still. If all the nits and complaints were rectified, this thing would cost $400 and we'd probably be complaining about the price. Overall, its a good deal for a unique item which only costs $150-200. e.

Here's what happened, specifically. I bought this guy off the shelf at a Fry's because it was cheap and had a USB interface. I tested it--it identifies songs that are at the top level of the directory (not in a folder) and songs that are under one directory/folder. Beyond that (if the music file is under two folders or more) it will not find it or play it. Another side-effect I noticed of the USB interface is that it warmed up my USB stick substantially. I don't know if this audio system was just providing a lot of power, or if it had some design inefficiency that caused it to reading constantly from the USB stick which was actually over-using the electronics. Either way, I didn't have the system long enough to know if it affected the life of my USB stick. I do know that my USB stick has never gotten that hot in any other computer I've used it in.
I began using my CDs/DVDs in the system. After about a month, one failure became very apparent--the motor for ejecting/receiving the CD/DVD wore down quickly, so that it was struggling and sometimes I wondered if I'd get my discs back.
It was always VERY sensitive to scratches on the discs, but this got worse after about a month and a half. It skipped like a son-of-a-gun on songs that my other (older) CD players didn't skip on. The high-pitched, whining noises from the motor constantly trying to re-adjust annoyed me a lot, but I managed to try to make the most of it. This screeching kept degenerating (getting worse) and the play-ability of my CDs/DVDs became more inconsistent. Sometimes my car would start up and the audio player just couldn't play anything--it just kept moving on to the next track without playing a single tone--like it couldn't find its position. Ejecting and putting the CD back often helped to get the darn thing to actually play the songs, screeching as they may be.
After about 3 months, the thing completely died. It would no longer turn on at all. Luckily the folks at Fry's were really nice and allowed me to trade in for another device. I took the recommendation from the car audio installers and got a Sony--much better (even though this Sony didn't have a USB port)
Other nuisances of the Boss:
1) the front panel plastic felt cheap and didn't fit exactly right, and the device has no "OFF" button.
2) It was constantly on with a red LED under the front panel that blinked when the car was off. I know it isn't much energy to power the LED, but it bugged me.
3) Sometimes it would play a song from a DVD without any information on what the song was--clearly this has issues readings discs. Hopefully I've emphasized that enough).
I didn't really evaluate the AUX input or the AM/FM.

This radio replaces cassette player in wife's car. Whole lot more work than I planned on doing but that is not the radio/CD players fault. The radio/CD player is what I expected but I would have been happier if the clock would light up when the radio is not on. Remember when cell phones were like this? Me neither. First off this thing is tiny. Like 3-1/2 inches tall. You could almost wear this as a Bluetooth headset if people still did that instead of just holding their phones 3 inches in front of their faces and screaming at them. It does work like a cell phone. Just install your SIM card and you will be talking in minutes. The battery came about 70% charged. I bought this as a backup phone to keep in the house for emergencies. It did get a strong signal everywhere I tried it which is more than I can say for all my other phones.I would recommend it as a disposable cell phone. If this got lost on vacation you would not care.
Here is what is missing from the description:
Put a piece of Scotch tape on your SIM card before inserting it or you will have a very hard time getting it back out.
The Mini USB (not micro, like all phones use today) port on the side is for charging only, no USB connectivity. The included charger is a joke (5V @ 300 MA).
The battery is not removable or user replaceable.
There is no flashlight. ("Torch Light" in the description I will have to assume is referring to the orange back-light for the LCD display)
The FM Radio requires the use of the included headphones because instead of a standard stereo mini plug, the headphones plug into the Mini USB port.
If you lose the headphones (you should) the FM Radio will not work. Also the FM Radio will drain the battery in about 4 hours.
The display is a 3 line monochrome LCD. Because of this, menus are difficult to navigate and texting would be nearly impossible.
It will hold all your contacts, but you will have to transfer them over by manually inputting the information using the 3 line LCD and the number pad.
Call quality was fine. Signal was good. But for the same price you could buy a used phone off of craigslist that would have many more features. My recommendation for this phone is to manually put in your most important contacts, charge up the battery, turn it off and throw it in a drawer. The battery SHOULD hold a charge for about 18 months.

This is the most expensive and worst alarm clock I have ever bought.Let's start with the positive. It can be used as a speakerphone, and the sound quality is great. It comes with a remote, looks nice, and is iPad compatible.
Here is what it may not do:
Wake you up on the weekends
Wake you up to the iPod
The snooze button may do nothing, forcing you to turn it off
So if you don't need to wake up or hit snooze it could be a nice device.
As you would expect for a high end alarm it as two alarms, A & B. Each can be set to everyday, weekdays, or weekends. These settings can not be trusted. I have gone to using both every day and changing them several times a week. One would THINK that you could use one for the weekend and one for weekdays. This does NOT work reliably, and I tend to be just a bit picky about making it to my job on time.
Often what happens is the "wake to iPod" setting somehow changes to "CUSTOM" of which you can change this back only by scrolling through menu items with the hidden buttons on the back of the clock (it was the app interface on the phone that set it wrong so you can't use that to fix this). Since I have had this for over a year I have tried a wide variety of changes, of which nothing works every time. FURTHER, I have gotten a second ia 100 to see if it was my unit (it wasn't). I've also re-installed SW, and even upgraded my phone since this purchase, and called their tech support more than a few times. My point here is that I've ruled out this being an issue with one bad clock.
Why the snooze button always works for dimming, and works 80% of the time (but not 100) as a snooze button is beyond me.
I've waited long enough for a SW/firmware refresh to address these issues. My only salvation is to save you from this same torment.
For some odd reason that is due either to incompetence in the packaging department, a highly dubious marketing strategy at iHome, or a combination between the two, American consumers can expect to experience miscommunications and unhappiness regarding this product (despite whatever merits the features that this product might have to offer once you can get juice into it), until some very basic issues get cleared up.
The best I can do is to warn you to contact iHome and/or your Amazon.com seller directly prior to purchasing this item to ask them to tell you PRECISELY what is included inside the box. You may uncover some odd reason why a product which the manufacturer sells for $200 on its website is discounted so sharply by Amazon.com vendors. Protect yourself ahead of time: get a guarantee that you will get a product you can actually plug into an American-made wall socket!
Also, I can share with you the email I wrote to iHome technical support to bring these issues to their attention. It will be a measure of the quality of their products and their customer service to observe how they handle such feedback.

I bought a brand new iHome iA100 Bluetooth Audio System for iPod iPhone from an Amazon vendor last week, and I was rather surprised that there was absolutely NO WAY that I could get A/C power into the unit! This leads me to conclude that there is something seriously wrong with:
1) your packaging quality control procedures
2) your marketing strategy
3) your inadequate web site copy
1) In the first place, your box contained three elements that, if they would only fit together properly, would allow me to obtain electrical power from my USA A/C power outlet: Howerer, these items do not play nicely together:
(a) the iHome 100-240V (Made in China!) universal adapter, model 110148-12, which has a cable that correctly fits into the iA100 chassis coming out of one side, and a two-prong input jack on the other. So far, so good.
(b) A cable with a plug that correctly fits into the universal adapter on one end, with a plastic plug that contains European or Asian style, rounded pins on the other end. The item has no identification as to its make, model, or style -a rather stupid oversight in design engineering.
(c) A Helms Man A/C plug, with flat pins to be inserted into a standard USA A/C power outlet on one side, with tiny round holes that were apparently intended to accept the much larger pins on the cable. Unfortunately, the larger pins of the cable, item (b), don't fit into the holes of the plug, item (c). Not only is the pin size a mismatch, but the distance between the pins do not even match correctly with the distance between the holes. (Maybe they measure things differently in China, but last month I bought a 2-prong to 3-prong A/C adapter with the metal ground that you screw into the A/C jack's plate unable to match up either! Pitiful! This ain't rocket science.)
SINCE I CANNOT PUT THE EUROPEAN/ASIAN POWER PLUG INTO THE USA POWER PLUG ADAPTER, I CANNOT GET POWER INTO YOUR UNIT!
(2) Whether it is intentional or not, that's very bad packaging! It not only frustrates a consumer to get a product that they cannot use, but it also makes me wonder if your products are as incompetently designed as your packaging philosophy seems to imply they might be. Every little detail counts.
Worse, if it is your marketing strategy to send out a box to the United States market that does not contain a cable with a universal adapter that directly plugs into the flat pinned outlets of American consumers, then your marketing people are not playing with a full deck of cards! It's stupid marketing. You don't send European/Asian elements to the American marketplace, expecting us to "adapt," and you certainly don't complicate the affront by includng parts in your package that don't fit! In the case of the iA100, one incompetent marketing decision led to another incompetent packaging methodology, or worker mistake, and it resulted in the mess that you sent to me.
(3) If your web site copy under the "Accessories" tab, regarding the availability of a iAD100B, which is apparently a Black AC Adapter for iA100 is supposed to mean that American consumers have to spend an additional $21.99 to buy an essential item that ought to be included in the original box at the price stated for the product, then I condemn you not only for gross incompetence, but for implementing an unethical business practice. No where I can find do you clearly state that the box contains "European/Asian" electrical items only and that American consumers MUST buy the "accessory" AC adapter merely in order to operate your device. My experience in marketing communications tell me that when marketing copy is skimpy, or vague, it is either due to the incompetence and laziness of the web site copywriter who does not think with the consumers' interest uppermost in her mind, or, worse, it is due to shady, unethical business practices on the part of marketing upper management, who compel the copywriter into writing vague, incomplete web pages on purpose, so that they can see if they can take advantage of the market's gullibility and stupidity.
Whether you realize it or not, you just cannot successfully market a product like this with such blatant errors in packaging philosophy and marketing strategy. You cannot package items that don't fit together to give power to your unit; and you cannot compound your mistake--whether that "mistake" be intentional or not--by offering to sell us, for an additional price and in a subsequent order, the item which can allow A/C power to flow from an American electrical outlet to your unit!
I will be interested in seeing how you try to wiggle out of this dilemma, and I will take you to task in a follow-up warning and review of your product on Amazon.com. If you want to sell to an American public, then such packaging incompetence marketing lunacy really does need to be chastised in public, too.

This alarm clock works well and is very cool.The sound is good. The alarm clock works all of the time, as configured. Bluetooth works pretty well.
Here is my biggest complaint:
Snooze changes the dimmer settings of the alarm clock, which I find very annoying. The dimmer setting should not be modified by remote control. The real problem is the display is too bright. It would be cool if the device had a way to set the dimmer to a specific setting during sleep time and another setting for awake time.

It look beauriful and fashionable on the ipod. But it takes time to get it to work correctly. The way you adjust the channels is a little bit confusing and not really intuitionistic. But people with normal IQ can figure it out at last. It's also a problem to figure out where to put it. In my car, it works the best on top of the control panel and below it. I put it in the box in front of the transmission stick. If you listen carefully, there's till a little bit of noise, but it's not disturbing. You can barely hear it when the music is playing. I must not have read the discription very well I have a 3G nano (I think) it's the long sliver one.and the FM transmiter won't fit.
seems the phone plug and the part that plugs into the bottom of the nano are to close together for my nano.

The way the iPod fits into it is nice and neat. Not real obvious how to use it but once you figure it out it's fine (until you don't use it for awhile and have to figure it out all over again.) Unfortunately I mostly get static from it. I only wanted to use this for audiobooks and not music so I wasn't looking for great sound quality acceptable would have been acceptable. I don't know if the airwaves are too busy where I live (didn't think so) or it's just a lame device. I have to fiddle around with positioning it in different places to get intelligible sound at all.I have a cheap tape adapter that has a little hiss but really works a whole lot better than this and I think that's a better option if you have a tape deck. I only got this because one of our cars doesn't.

The Griffin iTrip for the 2nd Gen Ipod has a very attractive design and if not the most sleek design compared to any other FM transmitters in the market. But that is where all the pro's end for this item. Its also the main reason I purchased as well, mainly for the looks.This transmitter is powered by the ipod's battery power and I feel that its not enough for the transmitter to send out a strong signal. I live in NYC and this gets overpowered very very easily. Also every time I grab or move it slightly in my car it loses reception and emits lots of static noise.
The sound quality is very poor as well, you can still hear lots of static in the background and sounds worse the my AM stations in my state.
The quick fix to all the static and low transmitter power is by connecting a usb car charger to the iTrip. This gives enough power for the iTrip to emit strong signals and charge your ipod as well. But this kind of ruined the entire point of having such a sleek FM transmitter that was easy to carry around.
