I have had this for about a year and like the product, you can watch the DVD player while driving, though not safe. The GPS is accurate and easy to use. I wish that it had a jack on the front to plug in your cell phone headset b/c the camry jack doesn't work with this unit(unless i installed wrong).. it also has hook up for back up camera and tv.

Pros: can use Navigation and radio at the same time, comes with iphone jack that you can plug into back of unit to run ipod and charge ipod with it. looks nice and fits in there perfect.

Cons: when you enter info in or switch b/w screens the music stops for a moment

I just purchased and installed this unit in my 2010 Camry, plug and play was great, easy to install. Setting it up was a different story. There are menu screens that don't make sense and are not covered by the owners manual. The Steering wheel controls do not work, bummer...(THEY DO NOW) And during the setup the volume slide popped up and went to full volume as if a button was being held in, it did this 2 times. I had to turn off car, it was blasting my speakers at full volume and I couldn't make it stop!!!

So I did a Factory Reset, and now, about every other time I start the car the volume slide pops up and it drops to zero / mute vol. (This has been remedied, the Steering Wheel buttons are now programmed and I think it had to do with that) This problem is resolved, better documentation would have helped. Side buttons are also now working.

Bluetooth worked great, paired easily, and calls in and out work fine. It downloaded my address book but is not alphabetical, weird.

Clock does not work. It changes the hour randomly even though it is set to GMT +5 the minute hold, and last time it reset the clock to 00:00:00 and stayed that way. It is not synchro'd with the GPS either.

GPS seems to work well, CLOCK DOES NOT SYNCHRONIZE, annoying! I did not have any slowness, but I wish you didn't have to start a new address w/United State, State, and on down. Most GPS systems start with the state you are in. And there is no HOME address.

Audio Disappointing, CD audio is worse than radio, which seems reversed, radio reception id POOR, the EQ is worse than the factory Treble / Bass, can not get as much Bass as before. Takes FOREVER to load a CD, if switching from Radio to an already loaded CD it shouldn't take so long.

So as long as I can manage the quirks, I will keep it, but if they persist, I will return the unit.

3 Stars is what I will go with now.

PRO: good screen with good touch. blue tooth connects well.

CON: Back up camera (when it works) shuts the sound off. so when parallel parking it's music or radio on off on off on off...

Back up camera function randomly works. I know the camera is working but the screen just goes blank or freezes. when it does work it's fine.(hasn't worked in in two weeks so far)

Navigation is slow.(video rendering of so called "3D" view is like downloading jpeg image in 1980's with the modem. then you also miss the exit because it tells you about 1 second after you pass the exit. Also, the preference does not save so navigation voice is turned up to max each time you turn on the ignition.

Equalizer sounds worse than the factory radio. This is the first aftermarket radio/mp3 player that sounds worse!

I just contacted the seller for any firmware upgrade because the product came with one page manual without any reference to the maker or customer service.

update: 12/20 12:50 am

This is the reply I received just now from the company I have contacted(2 hrs ago...I guess their prompt reply is a positive. Even though they had nothing helpful to say).

"There is no software/firmware update

1. Please make sure your backup camera is connected properly

(Please... I tried with other monitors...it works with other video monitors...and if the connection were bad, why does the screen go black sometimes and freezes at other times?)

2. You need to adjust settings of the GPS software, we do not develop this software and have nothing to do with that (adjust how? and the GPS software is fine. it's the slow and subpar processor or video card that are bad)

3. again, setting of the GPS software (any suggestions?)

(I wonder why they didn't reply about the bad equalizer settings? admitting the fault?)

BTW your review of the unit on Amazon is not appreciated. (make your product better please)

Thanks,

SYNC Navigation Systems"

Instead of a company asking how it can make the product better, someone sends a reply like above to a reasonable inquiry... "we have no update and you have to suck it up?" If you don't appreciate the neg. review make an effort to help people. Please stay clear of this product.
