Along comes Henk van Ess. Aside from having just about the coolest name on the planet (every time I say it I get this picture of some dude flying a WW2 fighter plane with a silk scarf flapping behind him!)... he saw a need for the few who must have the Otterbox for their iPhones. Here is a guy who not only makes an unreal external auxiliary battery for the iPhones and takes it from a side job hobby to becoming an entrepreneurial success, he listens to the few who have a need for a very special cable and takes action.
The Dock extending cable he sells allows for full functionality of the iPhone 3G and 3GS with all docking devices. I can finally use my iHome alarm clock and wake up to the soothing sounds of Gunther and the Sunshine Girls sporting their Teeny Weeny String Bikinis.
The cable is very heavy gauge and the ends are factory perfect. A beefy female mates up to the auxiliary device and a darn close to off the shelf Apple male end slides perfectly into the iPhone. That is exactly what it does, perfectly and with no aftermarket alteration. The product costs less than the ones currently on the market and it arrives quickly as promised. I purchased it as a pre-order and got it two weeks later with a very anxious Mr. van Ess letting me know every detail of the cable and the transaction. It appears that making somethng that appears so simple is by no means an easy feat. He is very proud of his products and he has every right to be. They work
Otterbox owes Henk van Ess royalties and a spot on their catalogue because his dedication to people who had an unmet need finally have the best of both worlds...the full use of their iPhone and the protection of the toughest case on earth. 3Gjuice's cable is a must for those who own an Otterbox.I like many other iPhone owners wanted to protect my investments in this phone. So I researched the internet and found that the Otterbox case is the one to buy. I love the case and have dropped my phone without issue but I quickly realized that the case would need to be removed to use accessories or to dock it. It's not a huge deal to remove the phone from the case but something I would rather not do over and over again. So the Internet research begins again for cables to allow you to dock this phone without removing it from the Otterbox case. I see reviews from many people unhappy to find out that the cables they purchased fit every case out there except for their Otterbox. I continued my search and found this product that said it would fit without the required use of power tools to file down cables that didn't fit quite right and immediately ordered it. This cable does exactly what it claims, it fits perfectly, the quality of the cable is very good, thick but not so thick that it isn't flexible and most important allows me to dock it without removing from the case.The product works as described but after one month of infrequent use, the cable came apart and is non-functional. I contacted the manufacturer who said they would send a replacement. I have not seen the replacement one month after they said they would send a replacement. This product is not worth the price.If you have a case on your iPhone such as the Otterbox, then you know you cannot use some of the adapters, mounts and stands to set your iPhone into to do whatever. With a case on your iPhone, like the Otterbox, your phone will not work on these stands/mounts. The 3Gjuice extension cord is used for connecting your iPhone to an external system, such as the iHome entertainment system(s), TV adapters, mounts and such. The reason for my purchase was 3Gjuice advertises their extension cord to allow you to plug the male connector through your phone's case slot and to the iPhone without having to remove the case. Bust! That is not true as I have a hardshell Otterbox the connector won't fit through the slot without removing my iPhone from the Otterbox case, what a pain in the **** (neck). The male plug on the 3Gjuice is to large to fit in the slot of the Otterbox to connect to the iPhone. I like playing games, searching the web while lying in bed. The 3Gjuice extension cord works fine, but what a pain to keep removing the case! The 3Gjuce cord was deliverd by USPS in the typical crushed cardboard box and plastic baggie (poor pacakaging). The 3Gjuice extension cord is a great idea but the plastic plugs need to be made smaller to fit the assortment of cases out there.
