I bought this specifically for my daughter's room to replace a clock radio that ran fast on time. The stereo itself is perfect for her room, but I am going to have to go out and get a small clock as well; since this one does not have a backlight for the clock. It is very difficult to see even with the lights on in her room. If you are looking for a room stereo only, this is a nice little one. If you are looking for a clock radio, you should look at another product.

Also, when I bought this it came with Amazon's free shipping.

Do not let the size of this stereo turn you away from the purchase. it has a crystal clear sound. It is very easy to use. And because it is small, it will fit on a library shelf or on any small shelf. I have nothing negative to mention. If you need a small stereo for your young daughter who enjoys listening music and you can make her happy plus have some peace in your living room. It plays MP3 too. Way too cool. I guess it is true. Good things comes in small packages.

The unit (Magnasonic MAG-MS857 CD Player Stereo) produced a reasonably nice sound at first (sound was absent at the lower frequencies), however, the CD player in the unit died in 1.5 months, upon the second time the CD player was used. I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in the first time. This allowed us to use it one more time. The second time the CD player stopped working, nothing that we did would "reset" the unit or fix the problem. Contacted Amazon and they sent me an RMA for the item.

-Good service on Amazon's part.

-If I was only using this as an MP3 amplifier, it might have worked for a while.

-CD dead in 6 weeks.

bad unit.

I purchased this product in January 2011. I have a small home, and it works very well.

I use it for playing CD's and a connection for my kids Ipod. Plenty of volume for my small space, neat, compact.

I like it.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She wanted something she could play CD's and her Mp3 player on. This does both, though she couldn't get it to play her Mp3 at first. Then, I remembered reading in a review on here that you had to really push the cord into the outlet firmly. Tried it and it worked!

The only possible drawback is that it is not a booming and loud system. I am OK with this, because I don't want my daughter blasting all of us with her music and it is plenty loud enough to listen to in her room.
