There are two very good facets to this unit It does charge the iPod while in the cradle. It plays the iPod very well too.

The problem is the sound quality. There is virtually no bass in the radio. It sounds like a transistor radio. The women and children in my family all agree, we have to upgrade for better sound but the problem is that there are very few if any options that offer an UTC iPod cradle. We have no plausible replacement. We may have to go counter-top if we want an iPod kitchen radio.

The lights on the unit are very dim and the radio reception takes in only one or two FM Stations.

I suggest this unit should go back to re-design.

We bought this a few months ago from Target and at first we were very pleased with it. It's sleek and looks great in our kitchen and I LOVED being able to listen to my iPod as I cooked/cleaned/whatever. Unfortunately it has stopped recognizing my iPod, as well as my husbands. I can dock it and it will charge, even respond to the buttons for skipping to the next song, but shows a "no iPod" error message and won't play anything. I am extremely disappointed in the item, while the other functions still work, we bought it to use with our iPods and it should have lasted more than 2 months for $60.

After less than 2 months of use, the iPod bracket ripped out when my husband took off our iPod. We cannot fix it and it will no longer recognize any of our iPods. The radio is ok, but doesn't seem to pick up many radio stations clearly. Incredibly disappointed and frustrated that I have to buy a new iPod dock after just getting this one.

This is the Second one that I have purchased (gift for son). The first one I received December of 09 and loved the Ipod dock, how it tucked away and the charging capability. Currently there are few other options out there if you want to save counter space, listen to and charge your pod. The sound could be a little better but for the money...... I have no problems with radio reception (after I found the position for the antenna), love that it frees up counter space, love that the dock tucks away when not in use, love the dock capabilities. Have had no problems with it and feel that I got what I paid for.

i had this radio for less then a month and the display is so faint you cant even read it. I called hamilton beach and they refered me to a 3rd party who NEVER answers thier calls and NEVER returned a call. Do not buy this pos radio. and avoid all Hamilton beach products. i think even giving them 1 star is way to much..
