iHome iP97 Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone (Silver)

iHome iP97 Dual Alarm Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone
  • Awake to iPhone/iPod, Playlist,Radio or Buzzer
  • Plays and charges iPhone and Docking iPod Models
  • EQ and Balance Controls
  • Reson8 Ported Cabinet Stereo Speakers/Listen-in to Listen to Other Audio Devices
  • Remote Controls Unit and iPhone / iPod Functions and Menus

This clock radio is a very impressive little music machine! It sounds great for it's size, and lets you remote control your iPod or iPhone from bed or across the room. It has a few other unique features that come in very handy:

1) This particular model is "GSM shielded", which means that it actually works properly with an iPhone. If you try to use an iPhone on an older (or cheap) iPod clock radio, you'll end up hearing a bunch of static and buzzing noises if you try to play songs on the iPhone or listen to the radio when the phone is plugged in. You can get around this by putting the phone in airplane mode, but then you're going to miss calls and e-mails while you're listening to phone on your clock radio. Not cool.

2) FM Radio reception on this model is quite good, and it sounds great! AM reception isn't so hot, but I doubt that many folks who buy a high-tech clock radio like this really listen to much AM radio anymore.

3) This model has dual alarms, which didn't seem like a big deal to me at the time when I bought it. Then I realized that this thing also has a calendar built into it, and that I can program one alarm to go off during the week and a separate alarm to go off only on weekends. Sweet! No more having to shut off the daily alarm on Friday morning and having to remember to turn it back on Sunday night!

Some other thoughts... I have both an iPhone 3G and an old iPod Photo, and they both work fine in this clock radio. Even the menu navigation on the old iPod works fine from the remote. That said, you'll need to ditch the annoying little dock inserts that come with the clock radio to make the older "fat" iPod's fit. You'll also need to lose the insert if you have a case on your iPhone.. it won't fit otherwise.

Other than that annoying little flaw, it's a great product.

My wife gave this to me for Christmas and both of us are impressed. I do want to mention that since it was a Christmas present I have only used it briefly. First impressions are important, and the packaging shows thought and care. Everything was carefully taped into place with sufficient shock absorbing material. The instructions are thorough enough to get you going. It even came with the backup batteries already installed

Once plugged in, I set the clock to my time zone and due to the backup batteries the time was actually correct. I then inserted my 2nd gen Nano and it played just fine so I'm not sure what problem the previous poster was experiencing. By adjusting the sound to 3D and maximum bass it sounds pretty good for a desktop device. Sure, it lacks the bass I expect from a home stereo, but it's definitely the best sounding alarm clock I've ever heard. For most people it would also sound fine as a kitchen or office sound system.

In my opinion this seems to be an above average piece of consumer electronics in build and thoughtfulness. This product would be particularly useful for those who keep their iPhone nearby at all times. One of the features I was most impressed with is the number of dimmer settings; from bright to off there are eight different levels so you can select the one that's just right. As a first impression I can recommend this product.

Received this yesterday. I hooked it up yesterday evening and was pretty pleased with all the features. I thought the alarms were a little annoying to set, but no big deal. I set my time zone and waited for it to pick up the proper time, but it never did. I set the time manually using the time on my iphone. This was about 6:30pm. By the time we went to bed at 10pm, the time was already off by 3 minutes. I adjusted it again and went to bed. By the time I got up this morning, time was off by 4 minutes. I like most of the features, and especially the remote, but if a clock can't keep time.... Returning this today.

First of all. I'm a music lover and musician as a hobby, so I know a little bit about music. I got this product as birthday gift for myself and payed a very god price because it was the last unit on sale at some store (about 40% off the list price). I was dissapointed because it does not includes the adapted for the Nano 5g, but that is not a big deal. When I turned on the unit the sound was not impressive, but then I discovered that is has audio settings as bass, treble and 3D sound (which is incredible). You have to bear in mind that the sound quality depends a lot in the sound quality of the music in your iPod, so I choosed a nice quality song to test it and it really sounds good, it's not a home theater so don't expect a huge bass from it. Also, the sound quality remains pretty consistent at high volume, distortion is not a big issue here. at the end of the day this will be my summary....

PROS:

sound quality good overall

minimum distortion at high volume

Nice remote control let's you navigate easily through the iPod's menu

8 different setting dimmer

Basic EQ settings

3D sound really works

huge display

CONS:

Does not work on Batteries (not portable)

significant footprint (about 6.5 x 11... not exact)

buttons seem to be a little bit filmsy, but not an issue

Bottomline:

The iHome iP97 is a good music machine for your home or small get togethers with an impressive sound quality for the price ($85-129), huge display, good FM reception and a very handy remote control. Bear in mind that you may need to get the insert adapter for your specific iPod, as it happened to me with the Nano 5G because is just comes with 3 of them (iPhone 3g, nano 4g, touch). I hope this helps you as many other reviews hlped me!

Without a doubt the iP97 is the best clock radio I have ever owned. It's a great buy for iPhone/iPod owners and for anyone just looking for a well designed, easy to use unit.

Audiovox KLV39120CE 12" LCD Drop Down TV with Built-in DVD Player and HDTV Tuner

Audiovox KLV39120CE 12' LCD Drop Down TV with Built-in DVD Player and HDTV Tuner
  • 12 Inch High Resolution Swivel and Flip LCD Screen
  • Built-in DVD Player
  • ATSC/NTSC Cable-Ready Tuner
  • Digital AM/FM Clock Radio
  • Magnetic Remote

I have been using this unit for a couple of days and it has pretty much lived up to my expectations. I originally bought this TV because most of the under cabinet TVs I saw only had 7-9 inch screens and this unit was the only one with a 12 inch screen. The screen is measured diagonally and has a widescreen aspect ratio so it seemed a tad smaller when I first took it out of the box, but its still much larger than the 7-9 inch tvs I compared it to. That being said, I think the optimum viewing distance for a screen this size would be 6-8 feet. You can either hook it up to the coax output of your satellite/cable box, or to regular over the air antenna (not included). A big plus is the inclusion of a built in ASTC HDTV Tuner. I used a regular set of rabbit ears and was able to get 30 plus digital channels from my location. I can't find any specs on the exact resolution of the screen, but it look great watching HDTV. I haven't really tried the DVD or radio functions, cause this was mainly purchased as a TV, but its nice to have those options available to me. I took off one star because of the lack of inputs/ouputs. The audio/video input on the TV is limited to a coax connection. It also has a composite video ouput, but strangely lacks an audio output so you are limited to using the built-in speakers. Not a really a big deal since the built-in speakers are fine and seemed to have good volume.

It was a little frustrating to mount under my kitchen cabinet. It comes with a sheet of paper which is supposed to be used as a mounting template so you can drill holes in your shelf. Make sure to tape the sheet completely flat to the cabinet and drill exactly in the center of the markings on the template or your holes will be slightly off. I made these mistakes and now my unit is only being held up by 3 screws (instead of 4) because the 4 hole was slightly off.

All I can say is that my wife has always told me I buy too much electronic junks. Not this time, well at first she frowned when I bought it home but not anymore after I installed it. Installation is easy, make sure you line up the provided paper template with your unit to see what side is up & forward before you drill. please tape the paper template to your kitchen cabinet before you drill because it will move you don't take my advice. Make sure you get a decent HDTV antena (don't go cheap on this item) so that you can get good HD channels from the air free of charge. Enjoy! oh, adjust the setting if the picture is too bright.

Had this for a couple of weeks now, seems to work very well. Picture is 7 out of 10. Was a little work installing. No room for xtra play with mounting screews.

I purchased a Audiovox 12" Kitchen LCD TV / DVD Combo 8 months ago. My T.V. has been wonderful until 2 nights ago. The DVD/Radio/TV indicators are all on and the panel is not working. When I have the unit plugged in...it automatically starts up and one can not turn it off without unplugging. It is frozen.

I have read the manual, I have e-mailed Audiovox support line with no response, I have called their customer service and the recording states they are closed. The recording said they were open until 7 p.m. on Monday but when I called at 5:45 p.m. it said otherwise. I was extremely happy but am becoming extremely unhappy when resolution seems so difficult. Maybe a simple fix but I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!

This TV has worked flawlessly, and though the Digital Switchover. My wife uses this unit in our office daily and it has provided years of excellent entertainment and service.

The user interface is troublesome, but the main operations are obvious. Older eyes will struggle to find the right buttons for anything other than selecting channel, volume or on and off.

Duracell Coppertop Alkaline Batteries

Duracell Coppertop Aa Batteries 24 CountThe box that showed up had a rubber band around it, it was open and the batteries were falling out.

The box said guaranteed for 7 seven years, the picture shows 10 years.

There is no way for me to know if these are used or new batteries.

I do not recommend you order these.

I received 24 duracell batteries loose in a box with expiration date of 2018. The packaging was opened completely and thrown in there to make it look like new batteries but the package said batteries expired in 2012. Ridiculous. I have no way to test all 24 batteries to see if they work and I'll never know if they are fresh or half used up. I'm going to try to get my money back. Never ordering again from here.

I got what I ordered today (I ordered 2), and they weren't Duracells. They also weren't in 24-piece package, they were 12 4-packs. I'm keeping the batteries, because even for Energizers, the price is worth it, but don't be expecting coppertops. Definitely will not order here again.

Just received the batteries, seems they are the ones I ordered although on package says 7 yrs fresh on the picture displays 10 yrs. Package came open and batteries loose in the box, which is annoying and cannot guarantee that they are brand new.

The batteries packaging came open and it was rolling all over the box. There was also one missing. Plus they expire in 6 years not 10.

The radio was fine, the alarm worked too, but I can't get it to charge my iTouch 4G.

I don't know if they're not up to date or if mine is defective, but whenever I manage to plug it in (which is a big problem in itself), a warning appears on my iTouch screen saying "Charging is not supported with this accessory." Therefor I cannot sync my iTouch to my computer through the product either.

The only way I can listen to my music on the product is when I use the mini-jack cable (which defeats the purpose because the iTouch has its own speakers). The product works great except for it's most important feature in my opinion-the charging. It was a devastating disapointment because I had such high hopes fo this product.

The product is nice, the lava lap is cool. The picture makes it look better than it actually is, but the product still has a nice, modern look. The sound is pretty good, the radio reception has some problems, but it does what it's supposed to. However, one of the major problems I have is that the backlight for the time, and the light emitted from the buttons CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. I found it WAY too bright to go to sleep, so I had to unplug it, which makes it pretty useless as an alarm clock.

I ordered the lava lamp dock, but recieved the fiber optic one instead. I didn't want to hassle with the return so I kept it as it was nice too. Although I really wanted the lava lamp one. I gave it a 3 rating since it's a gift so I haven't used it. I'll have to see how my grand daughter likes it.

Cosmos Black Dock Extender 30-Pin Converter for iPhone 4, iPod ,iPad 2 + Free Cosmos Cable Tie

Cosmos Black Dock Extender 30-Pin Converter for iPhone 4, iPod ,iPad 2 + Free Cosmos Cable TieI recently purchased a Lifeproof case for my new iPhone 4S since I am an avid kayaker and love to take photos along the way. The only problem with that case was that I could only use my OEM cable to charge the phone due to the narrow opening of the waterproof case. This little device takes care of that problem. I can now dock my phone in my alarm clock and use several other retracting cables that I keep in various places around the house and in my car. In fact, once I proved that the extender worked, I ordered two more.

This is so frustrating... it does NOT work with the Lifeproof case because as previous reviewer statedof the hinged door that covers the charging port. I would have had to break it off in order to connect the extender.

I found this finally LifeProof Case Dock Extender 30 pin Adapter BLACK Basic for iPhone, iPod, etc. sold by $13.97

I have a Lifeproof case for my iPhone 4GS & this Cosmos extender Cosmos ® Black Dock Extender 30-Pin Converter for iPhone 4, iPod ,iPad 2 + Free Cosmos Cable Tie will not seat properly into the phone because of the hinge on the door covering the port of the case. This is more of a flaw in the design of the CASE probably than the extender, but they should not be suggested to buy together as a package & a disclaimer warning that it will not work with the Lifeproof case should be included with the product information.

I wish I knew before I purchased this item that it does not work with the LifeProof Case for the iPhone 4S. I'm not sure why the seller claims it "Provides a compact extension, fits all protective cases covers, or skin (except Apple's iPhone 4 bumper case)" because that is not true. The item gets caught on the hinge of the LifeProof case and will not seat properly. Do not purchase if you are using a LifeProof Case. It will not work and you will be highly disappointed, especially if you have to wait over 3 weeks for this item to arrive like I did.

I read in previous reviews that this product doesn't work with the lifeproof case. I'm not sure which version of the lifeproof case for the iPhone 4S these people were using but I just bought my case a few months ago (white one) and this adaptor fits perfectly fine. When it's attached the bottom of it comes flush with the open flap of the case so maybe it's an issue with the angle of the dock people are trying to connect with? That's my only thought but I've used the connector with my case in my Sony dock and my Bose dock with no trouble.

Magnasonic MiC1000K Digital FM Alarm Clock Radio Speaker Dock for iPod/iPhone with Dual Alarm & Auto

Magnasonic MiC1000K Digital FM Alarm Clock Radio Speaker Dock for iPod/iPhone with Dual Alarm & Auto Time Sync
  • Compatibility: iPod nano 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G; iPod classic 4G, 5G, 5.5G, 6G; iPod touch 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G; iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4
  • iPod/iPhone receives a charge when plugged into the dock; time is automatically set from your iPod or iPhone
  • Dual alarm clock feature allows two separate wake times--wake to iPod or radio
  • Built-in PLL digital FM tuner with 20 preset stations
  • Snooze and programmable sleep functions included

I didn't need to look at the instructions to get this going and set the alarm. It is very easy to use.

The iPod/iPhone sits pretty high up. The dock is not recessed, and the unit is very light weight, so I have placed it on a shelf that is somewhat protected from my knocking it to the floor if and when I fumble for it to shut it off. It really does not seem very sturdy, and I question how long it will last, but, so far, it's working great.

The sound is nice and clear, and the fm radio reception is excellent. Much better than the other clock radio I have in my room. The charging connector for the my iPhone fits nicely and works well. I gave it four of five stars, because it works well, but feels kind of cheap, even at this price level.

Buy Magnasonic MiC1000K Digital FM Alarm Clock Radio Speaker Dock for iPod/iPhone with Dual Alarm & Auto Now

The price is great, and there are some good features here. First, the dock has a small footprint, useful in a clock radio. The sound quality is decent, for a clock radio. The numeric display is easy to read, and offers a choice of two brightness settings. The FM radio reception is good. Appearance is not bad. If this thing were designed by someone with a brain, it would be a bargain!

Unboxing this dock, the first thing I notice is the power cord and the external antenna cord. They emerge from the very top of the dock! Why aren't these wires located near the bottom of the dock, like every other electrical appliance I own?

Using the various push buttons on the dock is an exercise in frustration. I can accept that setting the time, FM radio presets, and so forth is difficult. Most clock radios suffer from this defect. These are not operations that one performs every day, so no big deal. But with this dock, even cycling through the radio presets is unpleasant. The printed documentation is not entirely correct, so learning how to use these features requires real work on your part.

If you experience a power failure for even five seconds, all your settings are lost. You have to go through the unpleasantness of setting your alarms and radio presets all over again. If the power failure occurs while you are sleeping, you won't get your wake up call either.

The volume adjustment for normal listening is fine. It offers steps from 0 to 30, meaning silent to extremely loud. However, setting the volume for the wake-to-music feature is a separate setting. This setting only offers settings between 10 and 30. Why did they do this? And guess what, that "10" is unpleasantly loud to wake up to.

That loud wake up call can go on, too. I mean, if you go on vacation and forget to turn off the alarm on this dock, it will play music 24/7.

The final design error is a bit abstract. Apple customers are distinguished by their willingness to pay up for great products. What kind of genius would market his shoddy-but-cheap gadget to this population?

This audio device is more like ipod external speakers with a clock. The quality is not the best, the radio comes in fuzzy sometimes and clear at other times. It will be good when I'm outside by the pool. When I got it, I began to set the clock, but decided not to.... to my surprise as soon as I plugged in my ipod the time was set a big bonus. Bottom line: great as an extra set of speakers for your ipod; not so great as your only external media source for your music device.

I have two ipod alarm clocks and this is my favorite by far. The reason why I like this better is the ease of use. You plug it in, plug your ipod in and the time adjusts immediately to your ipod. The other clock we have does not have this feature and you have to adjust the time manually. Not very convenient in my opinion. It's nice to be able to move the alarm clock around the house and not have to adjust the time each time. The sound quality is ok, but for a small clock and speakers, it's works fine for short periods of time. The red digital display is just right and is easy on the eyes in the middle of the night. I like it and will go to this one time and time again.

This does NOT charge the iPhone 4 too bad that's the main reason I chose to buy it. But I do love the time reset from phone feature.
