Sony CDXS2010 Slot Load CD Receiver Car Stereo

Sony CDXS2010 Slot Load CD Receiver Car Stereo
  • Detachable front panel CD player with bright blue/white screen, red control buttons
  • Compatible with CD-R/RW discs
  • 4-channel amp (17W x 4 channels); subwoofer pre-amp outputs
  • SSIR-EXA tuner with 18 FM and 12 AM presets
  • Includes case for detachable front panel

This is a pretty good CD player. It has been a very dependable player. In my three years of ownership the player has only skipped a few times and it was over some extremely bumpy terrain. Sound quality is great! There are a couple of things that are annoying about it though. For instance there is no play or stop button. If you hit the off button the only way to play the CD already inside is to eject it and reinsert it. There is also no pause button. Overall I would recommend this player to anyone who isn't looking to spend a lot of money, but want a reliable receiver.

The best thing I got it for $195. The worst power button is out of order it glows red but pushing gives nothing. Thanx I have the power button on the steering wheel. And you can't change the brightness of the screen it's quite bright at nighttime.

TEAC SR-LUXi Table Top FM Radio Room Lamp with iPod/iPhone Dock (White)

TEAC SR-LUXi Table Top FM Radio Room Lamp with iPod/iPhone Dock
  • Dimmable LED Table-top Lamp
  • Function: iPod, FM, AUX
  • Wakeup Lighting (30min, 10min, 0min. prior to alarm time)
  • Large Digital Clock with 3-step Dimmer
  • Preset EQ (Flat, Pop, Talk, Classic, Jazz, Rock)

As an ipod dock/clock this is a great product. It looks nice on my bedside table and produces decent sound. The lamp feature, however, is pretty worthless. Even on the brightest setting, it barely illuminates anything. You definitely can't use it to read or do anything other than see things in a one foot radius.

I purchase it for my 13 years old daughter, and I can tell you that she love it.

The red leds presenting the time looks gorgeous.

The lamp is perfect for wake up and for go to bed.

The Ipod control is just right, and the Ipod and FM sound is complete clear.

This nice white and black box it is a perfect decoration for her room.

The remote control it is a good idea, and it is attractive and unusual from the TV control.

In conclusion, you will receive something different that match perfect with the Ipod

This is my second after market Sony CD player in my old 1990 Geo Prizm. The first sony I bought in 1998 and after 8 years, the CD skipped quite a bit on the horrible roads of San Francisco. Yes, you would think a world class city would take care of it with HUGE taxes. Well no. Anyways, it was time to replace the old. This CDX-300 is a terrific sounding player. The blue backlight displays the song/artist/album name of the mp3 discs that can be made for it. About 200 songs fit onto one CD! You can put every song from an artist onto one disc. For example, I put every album of RUSH onto one disc. There is an album button to go to the next album. Its pretty amazing for the price. The remote is a welcome feature I never knew they had. Its very safe to use as its easy to memorize the few buttons on the remote. Well worth the money.

Friend of mine gave me this stereo it's EXCELLENT. Sound is AMAZING. Installation was a breeze. I got a wiring harness from Best Buy for my Corolla and it was a piece of cake. I put new speakers in my car last year and this thing sure takes advantage of them! Sounds amazing. It DID play cds with mp3s and wmas burned on them BUT CDs burned with the newest version of iTunes DO NOT WORK. NO IDEA WHY!? Anyhow other than that this thing is excellent.

This radio has all I ever wanted. I can play 11 hours of music on one CD when in MP3 format. The display is readable from any angle. The remote is a fantastic feature to prevent a distraction from looking at the radio for its buttons. The sound is awesome and crisp. The equilizer has preprogammed and custom settings. It has inputs and outputs for all your demanding needs. And all this for under $100. Unbelievable. I recommend to all.

I'd like to point out some things that other users haven't yet about this stereo. I don't like the fact that I can't control the bass and treble. Instead, there's this thing on the stereo where you control the highs, mids, and lows. I'm no sound genius so I don't understand what this means yet. Another thing that isn't so hot about this deck is the way it attaches/detaches. It's really hard to put the stereo on since you're trying to connect a little hinge on each side of the deck. That alone discourages me from taking the faceplate off even if I park somewhere that I think my stereo could get stolen. By the way, even the high-end sony decks that flip out attach and detach the same way that this one does. It's a really bad design in my opinion. The last thing I don't like is when you've had your stereo on, turn the car off, and turn it back on, the stereo doesn't turn on automatically -you have to press the source button again. I guess I got really used to my Panasonic deck which had none of these issues, so I'll just have to get used to this sony. I found it at a pawn shop so I only bought it because it was cheap. I'm not going to say that there's nothing good about this deck... there is. But it seems that right now, the bad aspects of this deck are standing out in my mind.

Nokia C5-04 Unlocked GSM Phone with 5 MP Camera and Ovi Maps Navigation Optimized for T-Mobile--U.S.

Nokia C5-04 Unlocked GSM Phone with 5 MP Camera and Ovi Maps Navigation Optimized for T-Mobile--U.S. Version with WarrantyThis is not having a 5 MP camera instead it's only have a 2 MP camera. Features are all same as Nokia C5-03 with only difference in Camera resolution and Wi-Fi. There is no Wi-Fi in this version which is absurd. There is no point of buying Nokia C5-04 instead of Nokia C5-03.

Amazon listed this product with wrong details of 5 MP camera which is actually confusing. I am returning this product due to this.

No 5MP camera & no Wi-Fi on this phone !!!! So DON'T buy this phone based on the specs given here ! What is Amazon coming to ??!!!!

Yeah boo! This item is listed wrong. Only 2 MP camera and no WiFi for the C5-04. Battery life is good though, plus 3G for Tmo, and the latest Symbian^1 is nice.

To clear things up, here's a link to another review on the C5-04:

I've just bought this phone from Wind Mobile in Canada. It looks like their entire product line is being replaced so I am guessing that this phone has reached the end of its marketing cycle.

First, the good stuff about this phone. It's decent-looking in design, with decent construction quality. The screen colours are not lacking, and the interface looks quite pleasant. Despite have a resistive touchscreen, the "buttons" on this phone do not require too much pressure to press, which reduces fatigue. Typing on the screen number pad and QWERTY keyboard is relatively easy. The OVI Maps is an excellent application for GPS navigation on foot and vehicle, thus I recommend that if you do want this phone to consider purchasing the 3G data plan if the rates are not too high. The themes and wallpapers can also be customized. The Symbian OS seems to be pretty easy to use, with an intuitively-designed interface. As microSD cards up to 16GB can be inserted into the phone, users can prevent clogging up their phone memory with apps. Speakerphone volume can get very loud, but may be a little distorted when set to max. As for the call quality itself, it's great, as that's what Nokia phones are renowned for.

Now the bad stuff, which stacks up against this phone. The lack of a Wifi adapter on this phone is infuriating, as 3G speeds are not as fast as promised by my cellphone provider. Opening any webpage, downloading anything, or simply transmitting and receiving data over the internet takes minutes to accomplish. I believe that this is also because the phone only has 128MB of RAM. When connecting to the computer by the provided USB cable, the phone tends to freeze several times. Thus I've given up on the OVI suite and have resorted to copying files directly from my computer to the microSD card itself. The web browser itself is showing its age, which is true of the Symbian S60 OS itself. Also, without a capacitive touchscreen, performing any tasks in the web browser is tedious and slow. The shortcuts on the home screen cannot be changed, so accessing installed apps can be tedious and discouraging. The phone memory is a paltry 75 MB. After installing the updates from OVI suite it's already almost full and I have to start deleting stuff. The OVI store itself has a relatively limited selection of apps, which is a positive indicator for its demise (after all Nokia is switching to Windows Mobile based smartphones). The camera isn't bad because it's 2MP (on the contrary, many cellphones with 2MP do take more than acceptable pictures), it's because it's fixed focus, which means the lens can't adjust at all when taking photos. Thus the pictures are downright terrible. Same thing for the video. Another thing for music fans the phone doesn't support East Asian characters (or any characters other than the Latin alphabet AFAIK), so be prepared to deal with long lists of box characters when searching for music on your phone.

As a smartphone, this is an outright failure. By restricting the S60 OS features, memory size, and RAM capacity, and taking away Wifi, Nokia took away potentially great qualities from a phone that could have been MUCH better (it's a shame that a 600MHz processor was paired with such lacklustre hardware). The lack of the decent camera scares away the one last potential demographic for this phone the teenager on a budget. In fact, they should have just gotten rid of the camera itself and focused on improving the hardware specs. Remember the saying, "Jack of all trades, master of none?" Well, this phone is not even a jack of all trades. It nearly fails to perform any of its smartphone functions adequately.

The redeeming features of this phone are it's call quality, loud speakerphone and excellent GPS navigation app. However, if one wants to use the GPS, they need 3G internet access. That doesn't seem to be worth it when you consider that the web browser is annoying to use, and access to the OVI store is terribly slow. As Nokia makes plenty of phones with good call quality and loud speakerphones, one might as well just buy a normal Nokia cellphone at half the price. Stay away from this phone. In fact, when my parents get new phones from Wind's new lineup in December, I'll probably switch with one of them. For the meantime, I'll be using this thing as a phone, messaging device, GPS, and music player all of which are functions provided by the typical cellphone today.

Edit (September 13, 2011): I realize that I may have been a little too critical of this phone, so here's an update.

The Swype program comes standard with this phone, so typing has been made much easier. As you use the Swype function more, it gets better at guessing the word that you want to input. I find texting others and answering emails easy now that I have started using Swype. Also, once you install the Opera mobile web browser, browsing and loading pages becomes much faster. However, it does not support Flash so you'll have to resort to your default web browser for that. The OVI Apps store may be lacking in apps, but the OVI suite itself is well-designed and pretty easy to use. Transferring contacts, music, and photos is a breeze.

Again, while this phone has a resistive touchscreen, I just can't help but notice how well it is programmed. It's not too sensitive to be pressed accidentally but you only have to press down with a little pressure to press a button. When scrolling through songs in the music player, I found almost as easy as with the iPod's interface. Speaking of which, there is also a custom equalizer with much more settings than the average portable music player's.

I do have mores gripe about the S60 OS, however. To change profiles I always have to go to Menu -> Settings -> Personal -> Profiles, and then change my profile. This does become tedious after awhile, and one does wonder why Nokia didn't make it accessible from the home screen to begin with as many other manufacturers have. Sadly, the on-screen keyboard is simply too small, and with thick fingers like mine I can't really see what I'm typing sometimes, which makes it hard to use the Swype function.

One suggestion I have for potential buyers of this phone is to get a microSD card of at least 8GB and make sure that all downloaded apps are installed onto that instead of the phone memory. Even then, when I only have the Opera browser open the phone still runs out of memory.

My verdict is that this phone would be fine for those who usually text, talk, and listen to music a lot, but are also interested in accessing the internet from an ultraportable device. I am also raising my rating of this phone from 2 stars to 3 stars, as I've realized that my previous verdict was partly due to my unfamiliarity with the S60 OS, which has proven itself to be quite easy to use with a few exceptions.

Motorola Multimedia Station for CLIQ2 (t-Mobile Retail Packaging)

Motorola Multimedia Station for CLIQ2I love this docking station. Its very easy to use. I only gave it 4 stars, however, because I wish it would charge up the phone while a case was on it. But, as that is the only thing I've found wrong, I'm pretty happy with it overall.

I bought one of these for my wife's Cliq 2, but was surprised that, with the insert removed, it also works quite well for my T-Mobile G2. The G2 doesn't recognize it as a multimedia dock, but simply a charger, but it makes a nice stand. Launch the Clock app and it works well as a music / picture dock.

Nature Sounds Dig Clock Radio

Nature Sounds Dig Clock Radio1. Very hard to set, you must read poor instruction manual carefully. I've had to dig out the instructions several times as near impossible to just look at clock then set.

2. I work rotating shift work so have to change alarm times often, takes a long time to move alarm.

3. Has 3 levels of back light on face, even on low setting the light is to bright so have to keep clock facing away from me.

4. Has radio, but again difficult to use, so I use nature/buzz alarm only.

Now the bad stuff, worked OK for about 2 months but now:

1. Power button won't work so can't turn radio on.

2. The dimmer/snooze button works for snooze but I can no longer cycle through the 3 different light levels.

3. All 4 nature sounds are gone, when set they sound BUZZ alarm only.

I've unplugged unit & pulled BATT's hoping to get unit to reset itself, but no luck. I'm very dissapointed with Timex. Very poor design. Poor quality. I will replace clock with a different brand.

What differentiates this alarm clock from the others? Quite a few things separate this clock from most of the pack. I have listed the noteworthy features of this clock below:

1. The battery backup assures you won't oversleep

2. There is a battery indicator so you know when to change the battery backup

3. You never need to reset the time when the power goes out. The clock is preset at the factor and has the correct time when you plug it in. You select from the following time zones (Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan, or Hawaiian)

4. You can set the clock for day light savings time and make leap year adjustments to keep the time and week on track

5. You can set the clock to have different times during the week and weekend all at one time

6. There is a dual alarm feature

7. There are many different options for what you will wake up to (Radio, Nature Sounds, or Buzzer)

8. You can adjust the illumination on the face if you like a dark room or a bright display

9. Four nature sounds (Ocean Surf, Birds, Brook, or Wind Chimes)

10. There is a timer that will turn off the nature sounds or radio in either 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes so that you can fall asleep to sound

11. You can preset 18 radio stations

For the money, this is a nice alarm clock.

I bought one of these as I really liked the way it looked, and for the nature sound feature.

It takes a bit of effort to set the settings, as the instructions are confusing, at best.

The main problem, and the reason I will never buy a Timex clock radio again, is that after a few months, the volume began to get lower and lower, and the volume thumbwheel no longer worked, eventually, no sound at all. The clock worked fine.

I called SDI and they were willing to replace it if I sent in the deffective unit, but when I weighed the cost of shipping, etc, it was'nt worth it.

I called and expalined the problem to SDI Tech help, and they said they had no idea how this could happen.

Believe it or not, I bought another one, because I liked the look and features so much, and after a few months, it had the exact same problem. No more.

Very disappointing, beware.

I purchased this clock radio primarily because it has an input for my ipod player. However, I am impressed with several features. For one thing, the reception of AM and FM stations is very good. I have had poor experiences with other clock radios that could hardly pick up even the local stations. I like the fact that the speaker is on the front of the radio. That helps me hear it in the middle of the night, keeping a very low volune to avoid bothering my spouse. The footprint of the radio is small, allowing it to occupy only a small part of my already small nightstand. The read-out is large, easily allowing me a quick time check in the middle of the night without fumbling for my glasses. The digital radio allows for precise tuning, and there are ample pre-sets for favorite stations, including 6 for AM and 12 for FM. There are nature sounds, not high on my personal list of features, but comforting for those who like such things. The MP3 input works fine, and the radio comes with the cable needed for the connection. I have had the radio for about a month now and everything is still working fine. All in all, quick a package for the price.

I was two steps away from calling the Timex technical assistance line after our manual grew legs. I noticed a website at the bottom of the page (www.sdidirect.com). Low and behold, this is where Timex keeps all of their manuals (Logically, one would think to visit Timex.com. I guess they farm it out to these SDIDIRECT guys?) Unfortuantely, the T307S isn't listed in the drop down list. So, I chose the T308 the picture and the instructions are the same (At least from what I remember).

Good Luck!

Hipe Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Shower Speaker & Handsfree speakerphone - Black - Compatible with

Hipe Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Shower Speaker & Handsfree speakerphone - Black - Compatible with all Bluetooth Devices, iPhone 5 Siri and All Android devices
  • Compatible with any Bluetooth media player or phone - works great with apple iPhone 5 Siri, Android Devices and phones, Samsung S-Voice, Google Music, Pandora and all other audio APPs on your android or iPhone.
  • 2 Key features where updated 1: The battery was upgraded. 2: The phone volume is now leveled with the music volume.
  • Auto Pairing Feature: Pairs your device with the Hipe speaker automatically when it is in range of the speaker.
  • Waterproof (Rated IPX6) Can withstand powerful water jets - Built in Echo cancellation and Noise suppression.
  • Run time: up to 25 hours. (If the unit has not been used for more than 10 days, please charge it before using).

Cons:

If you plan on using this outside of the shower as well, don't expect Bose quality sound. It's made for the shower and sounds excellent, loud, and clear with the "acoustics" of a bathroom and running water. This phenomenon is similar to the one in which people singing in the shower are convinced they can be the next Rihanna or John Legend (see first three weeks of American Idol auditions and/or Simon Cowell clips on Youtube).

Can't remove the handle which is not a big deal. Would be nice if it offered suction as an option/accessory so location of speaker isn't bound to either the shower head, soap holder, or towel rack region (FYI, handle is flexible material).

Googling, or however you spell it, "Hipe Bluetooth Speaker" does not yield an official Hipe Twitter, Facebook, or Website but the product packaging does say that HipeUSA.com is the Official Website for this product. The website though is quite barren at this point in time.

Pros:

Does EVERYTHING is says it does as advertised. From my experience, only 40% of products not sold by Apple can claim that. Currently, I don't see a viable competitive product as far as what this one has to offer.

For iPhone 4S users like myself, pressing the Call button activates Siri so essentially the speakers will port Siri commands to your iPhone and he/she will read back responses through the speaker. So yes, you can now listen to the last text message you got, send a response, and set a reminder to pick your friend up from the airport this weekend all while taking a shower and not touching your iPhone in the process. No, you cannot see Siri's response to directions to the airport on the Hipe speakers. The only issue I had is that Siri, via the speaker's microphone obviously, had a harder time understanding my perfect pitch and tone (thank you bathroom tile) so I had to speak slower, more clearly, and closer into the microphone to drown out (no pun intended) the sound of running water that probably confused him/her.

You can charge the speaker via the mini USB port on the back, and use the full size USB port to charge your phone or other device (I'll add pictures to user photos section so you can see). The product comes with a mini USB cord and wall adapter.

Side note:

Neither pro nor con, but the speakers have your traditional mesh covering so they're not fully enclosed and thus don't hinder sound. This, and fact that you have a removable cover for the power ports on the back, are probably why you can't dunk your speaker in a pool but you too can spray them with your ridiculously unnecessary Rainforest Shower Head and the Hipe will still live up to its name.

I have a Lifeproof case on my iPhone so I can take it with me into the shower and use it as normal. As a result, the only buttons I really need to use on the Hipe are the volume buttons and Power. Basically, I can't comment on how complicated it is to answer calls on it versus sending them to voicemail, rewinding or fast forwarding through a song or even if that's an option, shuffling, etc.

Also, the spelling in the user manual was atrocious. It appears whchever compny did the printig just skipped every several i's, r's, etc. like this, but you wold think Hipe cheked this before finalizig and packaging/shippng. A mistake like this doesn't typically affect the product though, or does it?

Buy Hipe Waterproof Wireless Bluetooth Shower Speaker & Handsfree speakerphone - Black - Compatible with Now

I had just put in a new shower into my bathroom and while I had included sound into the exterior because of the sealed shower it wasn't easy to hear especially with the steam shower running.

I had been on the lookout for a work around. Found this item as pretty much the only reasonably priced waterproof bluetooth speaker.

I hemmed and hawed about purchasing it for about a month or so especially with the lackluster reviews over quality control.

Finally bit the bullet and bought it only to be delightfully surprised It was way louder then I had anticipated and even would kick off my android phones

voice actions programs (I have an S3 so it kicks off S-voice Samsung's siri competitor). Which allows me some control from inside the shower. The mike seems to work ok for this type of usage. Call quality on the other hand seems to be lacking only tried it maybe twice just to check it out but with my shower being particularly echo prone I would be surprised if any mic could handle the acoustics.

Other thoughts:

This thing is loud love that I can easily hear it with the loudness of my steam shower without it even cranked all the way up

Battery Life is nice and long.

Charging port for other devices seems silly. (Would be nice if I was going to use it for camping or somthing).

About 2-3 months after I purchased it I went to plug in the charging cord. And sadly the charging port came loose and fell into the cavity of the speaker. At this point it was unusable after it ran out of battery. This was disappointing as it is a main gripe mentioned in other reviews.

I was worried with the support based on how sparse the website is. But after emailing support I was promptly responded to and had an replacement shipped over with a return package label within a day or so.

So while the product is above and beyond in specs it does seem to still have its flaws, But support was excellent.

This product has wowed me while it works I haven't seen anything else comparable feature wise and they are all at least twice as expensive.

It does seem that they need to either take a closer look at quality control or figure out what causes this charge port issue.

The new model I received has still been working well since I received it.

TLDR;

Above and Beyond product. Some quality issues. Good support. Would buy again.

Updated Review:

The company, Hipe, promptly sent me a replacement unit. Now that I know from experience I need to securely mount the unit in a place from where it won't easily fall down, I'm again a satisfied, happy and almost daily user of this speaker system again. To see what I like about this unit, see my initial review below.

I recommend this product with the warning that you don't just hang it on your shower or shower curtain rod, but that you mount it securely so that it does not fall down.

Initial Review:

Title: Fell down due to poor design & construction and stopped working. I had to throw it in the trash today.

After my first few weeks of using this product, I was going to give it a 4 or 5 star rating, because:

1. It does what it is advertised to do: It is water resistant, rechargeable and can be safely used in the shower area.

2. It is more than a set of speakers. It works well as a bluetooth based handsfree speakerphone. The controls are easy to use.

3. It has good sound quality. It worked well for both my audiobooks (spoken words) and music.

Sadly, the green part on top of it that is meant to be used to hang it on the shower or shower curtain rod is poorly designed: a) It does not lock around the bar where it is meant to be hung and, b) to make matters worse, it is flexible. As a result, it is highly prone to falling down.

Mine fell down multiple times, despite my attempts to hang it in different places. (shower head, shower curtain rod, etc..)

This major design & construction flaw can be easily fixed by making the top part more secure. For example, a strap with a buckle or a clicking release would secure it in a variety of places in the bathroom.

After the last fall, its USB connectors came loose and I was unable to plug the charging cable back in to charge it. Since I could not find a way to open it to reattach the connectors inside, I threw mine in the trash today.

It was good while it lasted. I wish it had lasted more than a few months.

My wife is always listening to her music and audio books while she puts on her makeup and gets ready in the morning. This speaker system is ideal for her. Don't let the shower option fool you into thinking that this is just for indoors use. It makes a great travel speaker for the outdoor deck, going to the beach or at a pool party. Just remember that it is waterproof to IPx6 or sprayed water and it is not submergible.

The speaker has great sound and is very loud. You can adjust the volume on your device and on the speaker itself. The front control panel allows you to adjust the volume, skip songs, pause music, answer the phone and link the Bluetooth communication to your device. You can even control your phone to forward the call to your smart phone or answer it right from the speaker. You can pause the phone call and go back to it when you are ready. The speaker will even redial the last number who called you or you can use voice commands if you have that feature on your phone. There is even an LED that will flash when the battery is getting low to warn you that it is time to charge it back up.

The speaker features a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery that is rated to last 25 hours on a full charge. It is a nice looking speaker and it comes with a charging cable and an AC adapter. The instruction manual was easy to use and the setup and operation is very quickly done. I have included the instructions in my video so I hope they are useful to you.

The back of the speaker has a water tight seal that covers the charging port and main power switch. Make sure that you properly seal it before you put it in the shower. My video shows the speaker playing the Star Spangled Banner by the US Navy Band as it is a non-copyrighted song. That song was recorded by my iPhone off of the computer via audio pickup and converted to a MP3 song. It sounded great. The actual digital MP3 songs that I own sound even better as you can imagine but unfortunately I cannot use them in the video.

I had no problem with the Bluetooth connection and the speaker worked perfectly. When you turn off the speaker using the front button it will disconnect the Bluetooth function. By simply turning on the speaker again it will automatically link to your smart phone as long as your phone is still Bluetooth active and linked to the speaker. I show this in my video.

Overall I am impressed with the speaker and I rated it 5 stars. It worked as it was specified, it was easy to set up and the sound quality was excellent. This makes a great gift for someone or even for you and it will enhance your enjoyment of your music, audio books and pod casts.

Please note that I received a sample of the product for evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

2 bad out of the box. Won't try a third time. First one wouldn't connect to anything and now the second one when I plugged the power adapter into it the jack fell inside the unit.

Sound quality is better than expected, but reception on this unit is not, unfortunately. Can't be beat for looks, though, and will keep for beach travel for as long as it lasts.

Panasonic DECT 6.0 Plus Expandable Cordless Phone with Alarm Clock, Talking Caller ID and Digital An

Panasonic DECT 6.0 Plus Expandable Cordless Phone with Alarm Clock, Talking Caller ID and Digital Answering SystemGot this phone for the alarm clock/plus phone features. They both work well. The phone has talking caller ID. Very happy with it.

The phone works fine. it is a bit involved to turn the alarm on and off as it requires entering codes.

I had a smaller version of this phone with only three phones which I replaced with these. It was enough to have one phone in my basement work area, one upstairs in my loft, and three on the first floor, including one in the master bathroom. The phones seems to be more substantial than my old set. They were a good choice.

  • Battery Back-up with Installed Lithium Battery which maintains the clock and alarm operation in the event of a blackout or any other power failure, and maintains the correct time so when the power returns you don't have to re-set the clock.

This is a great little bedside alarm radio. Reception is excellent for pulling stations and the sound quality is what one might expect from a small, inexpensive clock radio, i.e., the sound is adequate for waking one from a sound sleep. For what it has been designed to do, it is a five-star product. If you want high-quality audio, look into Logitech's Squeezebox Logitech Squeezebox Radio Music Player with Color Screen (Black); but if you're looking for a straight alarm-clock radio, this is worth $20.

Bought for backup functionality for an older relative whose power has gone out multiple times (and for 7-10 days at a time) recently. Takes odd button batteries for the clock backup; not a common battery you're likely to have on hand or easily be able to buy in anticipation of a storm. I expected the battery backup to also operate the radio (it does on two other Sony clock radios I have) but this unit does not have that feature. Is this design change something new? (The description has seems to have been tweaked so it states battery backup is for radio only). The battery backup radio is specifically what I was looking for. My relative likes the styling of the unit so she didn't want me to return it. In these days of super storms, we need multi-functioning products that will make our lives easier when there is possible danger.

Weak antenna, only worked well near a window for a week. Afterwards reception was fuzzy on all stations. No longer the SONY we used to know. This will be replaced.

The radio is compact but the display is big and bright. I do wish it had a settling to lower the brightness. The beeping alarm is subtle and slow at first but speeds up to gently awaken you. It is easy to set and I especially like that once you set your time zone, it will correct the time when I set it incorrectly. Cool!

I got this one because the other reviews were terrible. This one had the least negative reviews. I got it quickly and it works fine. What else to say about an alarm clock. It does the job well.
