This is my second after market Sony CD player in my old 1990 Geo Prizm. The first sony I bought in 1998 and after 8 years, the CD skipped quite a bit on the horrible roads of San Francisco. Yes, you would think a world class city would take care of it with HUGE taxes. Well no. Anyways, it was time to replace the old. This CDX-300 is a terrific sounding player. The blue backlight displays the song/artist/album name of the mp3 discs that can be made for it. About 200 songs fit onto one CD! You can put every song from an artist onto one disc. For example, I put every album of RUSH onto one disc. There is an album button to go to the next album. Its pretty amazing for the price. The remote is a welcome feature I never knew they had. Its very safe to use as its easy to memorize the few buttons on the remote. Well worth the money.

Friend of mine gave me this stereo it's EXCELLENT. Sound is AMAZING. Installation was a breeze. I got a wiring harness from Best Buy for my Corolla and it was a piece of cake. I put new speakers in my car last year and this thing sure takes advantage of them! Sounds amazing. It DID play cds with mp3s and wmas burned on them BUT CDs burned with the newest version of iTunes DO NOT WORK. NO IDEA WHY!? Anyhow other than that this thing is excellent.

This radio has all I ever wanted. I can play 11 hours of music on one CD when in MP3 format. The display is readable from any angle. The remote is a fantastic feature to prevent a distraction from looking at the radio for its buttons. The sound is awesome and crisp. The equilizer has preprogammed and custom settings. It has inputs and outputs for all your demanding needs. And all this for under $100. Unbelievable. I recommend to all.

I'd like to point out some things that other users haven't yet about this stereo. I don't like the fact that I can't control the bass and treble. Instead, there's this thing on the stereo where you control the highs, mids, and lows. I'm no sound genius so I don't understand what this means yet. Another thing that isn't so hot about this deck is the way it attaches/detaches. It's really hard to put the stereo on since you're trying to connect a little hinge on each side of the deck. That alone discourages me from taking the faceplate off even if I park somewhere that I think my stereo could get stolen. By the way, even the high-end sony decks that flip out attach and detach the same way that this one does. It's a really bad design in my opinion. The last thing I don't like is when you've had your stereo on, turn the car off, and turn it back on, the stereo doesn't turn on automatically -you have to press the source button again. I guess I got really used to my Panasonic deck which had none of these issues, so I'll just have to get used to this sony. I found it at a pawn shop so I only bought it because it was cheap. I'm not going to say that there's nothing good about this deck... there is. But it seems that right now, the bad aspects of this deck are standing out in my mind.
