I have been impressed by every Sony product I have purchased until this one. While the CD player was great, the installation easy, and the controls easy to understand; the radio reception was laughable. They tell you that the power cord serves as the antenna, so:

1) Extend the power cord fully, BUT

2) Don't plug into an extension cord, AND

3) Don't run the cord behind a refrigerator AND

4) Don't run the cord near flourescent lights AND

5) There is no connection for an external antenna.

So, just for the heck of it, I thought I would uninstall the radio and move it around the kitchen until we could get our local traffic and weather station. Too bad, the radio would have to be installed in the middle of the kitchen hanging in mid-air. Back to the drawing board!!

I would have given this radio zero stars except that was not a choice. I, like the other reviewer, thinks this is the worst radio you could possibly buy. Every feature on the radio works great except the radio itself, which by the way is the main feature I bought it for. I even called Sony customer service, but all they said was to return it if dissatified. If there was at least an option to add an external antenna, that might help, but there is not, and no way to even hook one up if you had one. Please don't waste your money!!!

My contractor who rebuilt my kitchen recommended this under-counter radio for its appearance and "space-saving" appeal, but without a telescopic antenna or even a pig tail (I assume the power chord is the feeble "antenna") in the back the radio is essentially worthless. The CD works fine but since this comes with a radio feature it has to be dismissed. For your kitchen, I recommend the sleek, attractive Tivoli Songbook, which comes in several colors. That's what I ended up replacing the Sony ICF-CD533 with and the Tivoli, with excellent reception and a rich monoaural speaker, fills my kitchen just fine.

I purchased this unit to replace a previous Audiovox unit that failed after 2 years. While I preferred not to get another Audiovox due to that experience, there are not a lot of alternatives for an undercounter unit. I considered the Sony much too bulky, and the Philips unit only comes with the iPod slot which I don't want and consider annoying, so it's Audiovox again. After 3 weeks, I am satisfied with the unit. It is much sturdier in construction than the previous unit, and the design is sleek and handsome. The controls are well laid out and intuitive. Picture quality is only fair (using an analog cable input), but acceptable. When viewing a DVD, picture is actually very good, but who watches a DVD in the kitchen? Sound quality is also fair, about what I expected at this price (this is NOT a premium sound system).

Installation was easy, but I installed under a cornet cabinet, or it would have been a challenge. Who knows if this unit will last longer than the previous unit's 2 years, but at half the cost of the Sony, it seems worth the risk.

I have previously owned a portable Audivox DVD player for my car, which gave me all sorts of problems and Audiovox stopped supporting after only 3 years (in other words, they wouldn't repair at any price). Thus, I entered into this purchase with hesitation. However, I wanted an under-the-cabinet small screen TV, and there are only a few options in this market sector.

I should have learned, but same as my last Audiovox purchase, this one was problem-laden. While it worked (all of 6 weeks) it was adequate. Decent picture, average sound (I didn't expect more for the size and price), and installation was fairly easy.

However, about 5 weeks into ownership, the screen went black. No warning, no power. It happened once, and I thought perhaps a fluke event. However a week or so later it went black again, same thing, no power, no picture. And it never came on again.

I've called Audiovox again, and again their service has been non-existent. They actually recommend "buying a new one" and told me they "can't always get parts for these".

It makes me think they don't actually make any products but pay someone else to make items for them.

I wish I had just tried the more-expensive Sony.

PROS:

* Decent video quality

* Screen can be turned 270 degrees

* Remote is user-friendly

* Includes radio; decent sound.

CONS:

* Audiovox products seem prone to failure and Audiovox doesn't stand behind them. Warranty is virtually worthless

I love my new audiovox tv.. It was delivered very promptly.. The only problem I had was liviing in a townhouse, getting the cable through and I had to hire an electrician at 250.00... The tv, however and all its features are wonderful...You can adjust the screen to fill it at wide angle or turn it to a portrait angle which does not fill the screen.. I dont mind cooking or cleaning in the kitchen now when my favorite tv program is on and I dont have to run back and forth during commecials. The price at Amazon was the best anywhere!!! First off, the product works fine and overall we are happy with it. However, there are three very annoying things about this TV:

1. The auto-seek tuning makes manually tuning AM or FM stations tedious. You have to push the tune buttons for the proper duration to make them stop on the station you want. It's trial-and-error to find the proper station.

2. When the power fails, you lose the time AND the saved AM and FM station presets. The discovered TV channels survive the power failure just fine. This is especially annoying given how difficult it is to tune the stations in the first place. See #1 above.

3. Even though we have digital cable with many channels, the TV only "discovered" channels 1-135. You can't enter the number for a channel above 135 on with the keypad. You can only use channel up or channel down for channels beyond 135.

The overall picture is ok. The LCD panel mount is a bit wobbly, but if you are careful and don't allow kids to play with it, it should give years of service. Audio quality is adequate and plays loud enough to hear across our small kitchen.

There aren't many choices in under-cabinet televisions for under $300. This is the best we found in that price range.

I am a bit disappointed w/ the quality of the picture--I can't figure out what it is that needs to be tweaked. It also is smaller than I expected--the TV picture does not use the entire screen and I do not think that is adjustable for TV, altho' it may be for DVD which I have not tried. The buttons on the remote are teeny. But since this is more of a background TV for me and I watch it only for short periods of time, it works for me. I have not tried the radio or DVD player--probably never will. I bought it for the TV only, and that is adequate for my purposes.

Bought two sets to let my kids ride their bikes around the neighborhood -while staying in touch with "home base" should anyone fall or need help. They work well around the house and backyard, but don't do well past 1/2 mile which is disappointing. The specifications say:

I bought these for me & my 7 year old son to wear so he could go up the street 3 houses to play baseball in the neighbors yard. Rather than going up there every 15 minutes to check on him (which embarrasses him) or have him come home to check in (which he forgets to do), he just wears one of the watches and I can check in anytime, they work great! And since he's wearing it, I know that he can hear me no matter what he's doing and it gives him a little bit of independence to play with the neighbors in their yard with the rest of the kids and I'm not worried. They hold a charge FOREVER and since the neighbors house is only 3 houses down, range is not an issue, we've not had a problem. The only thing that happens is he talks to close and fast into the watch and he's hard to understand sometimes. We love these walkie talkie watches, they're great! Well worth the $.

For the price and package I thought I had found a good all in one product to install in my kitchen with ease to stow away.

Upon unpacking this product brand new I found it to be very cheap plastic. I tested by plugging into my cable tv and found that it takes about 10-15 seconds for the unit to warm up to show a video picture. The next BIG complaint, is the volume is very weak. To the degree that if you were the only one in the kitchen and cooking and/or running the water at the sink you would not be able to hear even if it was turned up all the way. Then when it does show a picture it is of very very low quality. To change from TV to Radio or DVD it takes about 6-8 seconds between starting the new feature. The DVD drawer would not open all the way nor shut. This was a disapointment finding it defective out of the box. The remote control is suppose to have a magnet to place against say the refrigerator, it was missing any magnet from the packaging. The screws for mounting were missing as well.

I found a 15 inch LCD/HD Polaroid TV from my local Walmart for less money which out performs this by 100%.

This Coby product's performance/quality is not up to my expectations. Product was missing parts and accessories.

I would highly advise steering clear of this junk. This one was returned to Amazon.

After reading many reviews before buying a product like this, and being very skeptical based on the bad reviews, we decided to give this unit a try. It seems you either love it or hate it. I decided to side with the "love it" extreme. Though it may not be a perfect product, it is perfectly suited for what we're using it for. I'd like to defend some of the features people were disappointed in:

Ease of mounting We put it up in about 5 minutes. The holes were aligned on the template just fine, and it came with two sets of screws. Any difficulty might be with cabinets that are recessed or not deep enough. You need a good 18 inches depth to have enough room for cables behind and to operate the controls if cabinets come down over them. We have a corner cabinet it fit perfectly under.

Volume/sound quality The volume control works fine. The sound is a little dull, but, hey, this isn't a Bose system.

Picture quality Again, consider what you're paying and what you're getting. The picture is just fine to sit and watch the news or a cooking show in your kitchen. As far as needing to be dead on to view the screen, I haven't found that to be true. It was actually better than I expected for an LCD screen.

Delay between features It does take a few seconds to switch between DVD mode/TV mode/radio mode, and to power on, but there is an indicator bar on the screen so you know the progress you're making. It really isn't that annoying. (Also about the DVD player, it does need to be on and in the DVD mode before it will eject.)

Not cable ready Our cable connection works fine.

The magnetic remote Mine wasn't magnetic either. But I'll live.

As far as durability, I'll have to wait another 91 days to see if it dies when the warranty expires. I'll revise my review if it does! Otherwise, I'm glad we purchased this unit. Even my 14-year old son, who loves electronic gadgets, thinks it's pretty cool.

This undercounter 10.2" TV (from what I was able to try) works great:

The screen size is nice

The controls and screen are splatter resitant

The display swivel works great then securely stays under the base

The digital tuner picked up more stations than any other TV I own

The picture (for digital TV) is excellent

The analog picture is average

The undercounter mounting worked great

The customization menus are very nice, although not the most extensive more menus would be unnecessary for such a small display

It saved my settings when wall power went off

White color looks at home in a kitchen

I really can find no faults, except there were a few things I didn't try. It has MP3 capability, which for DVD players is normally poor with no random or menu controls. I didn't try this function yet so I can't complain. And the remote control battery came dead so I didn't try that either yet. If either of these two are remarkable I will report back.

Other than that, this display is a tremendous value.

It has tons of features and a very good picture, but the quality of the product is extremely suspect. The first one I received had a stuck DVD/CD tray and had to be returned. The second one is now experiencing the same issue. Occasionally the tray will get stuck and require a few "knocks" to the underside of the system to get it to release. I'm going to give a week or two longer and if it occurs again, it's going back for refund this time.

Coby makes cheap electronics and this one isn't that cheap to be experiencing such basic issues. I would go with something a little more reliable even if it means paying an additional $50 or doing without some features.

I purchased this model after my GPX kitchen TV died after 1 year (junk). The picture on this TV is far far better than the GPX TV. Installation was very easy. My only complaint is that the remote buttons all look the same and the volumn controls don't stand out from the rest.

You can only wake up by your preset radio station turning on, or a continuous loop of lame guitar riffs. Also, just to let you know, the "Mystery Phrases" are prerecorded Magic Eight Ball Answers like a girl saying "Like, No Way!" or a guy saying "You Bet!", "For Sure!", or whatever. My daughter loves this, and is constantly setting the alarm. It would be nice if it had AM and PM, but that is to be expected of this type of clock. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that there is something rolling around inside. Probably a screw or stray piece of plastic. The clock works fine so far, but having something rolling around inside is unsettling.

I was looking for something to replace my old radio that could also be used to play my ipod while I exercise. This seemed like a good fit, but I was hesitant to buy because it was hard to find many reviews and there are virtually no details available from amazon or the manufacturer's website. I took a chance and I was pretty disappointed. What you don't know: the antenna is super short and only extends straight upward, so the FM reception is terrible. I couldn't pick up any station without severe static, even in locations that my old radio had no problems with. The knobs are loose and the whole radio is very lightweight plastic. Also, the knobs don't actually rotate, they just do a left click or a right click, and adjusting the volume or tuning takes endless repetitive clicks in either direction. Plus, the FM station presents are deleted every time you unplug the radio, so you have to enter them all back in each time if you plan on moving the radio between different locations or unplugging for storage. On the plus side, the iPod functionality was good with excellent sound quality. However, having FM radio was vital and there were just too many headaches to warrant keeping it. All of the design flaws really make it a $25-30 value at best, not at all worth the $60 price tag.

I wanted a relatively small iPhone compatible music player that I could keep in my studio. My needs were not great...put the iPhone on shuffle, hit play and leave it alone. From that perspective, I have no 'major' complaints about this system. I qualify this because I realize most users will want a bit more flexibility in a system, and this device may present some serious drawbacks for them.

Look and feel: Cheap. It looks cheaper in person than in the photos. Don't buy it for it's looks. The feel is even worse. Buttons are hard and click, unit feels empty and without quality.

Sound quality: Fair to good, but it lacks volume. It simply doesn't get very loud. Enough for background music, but that's about it. Seriously, I turned it up all the way and my wife and I were still able to carry on a full conversation just 3 feet from it. If you like your music loud, don't buy it.

Design: This system has some serious design flaws that you should know about...

1. The buttons and knobs don't allow you to navigate the iPod/iPhone, nor does it come with a remote. The worst part is that the plastic door needs to be shut to hold the iPod in place, otherwise you get an unstable connection with the dock connector. When the plastic door is shut, you have zero access to the iPod. Want to switch to a different playlist or browse to a different artist...tough. You have to manually remove the iPod, select your music, then put it back.

2. There is a free app that you can download that adds some functionality, but again, you need to open the plastic door to access those features on your screen.

3. The volume and track knobs click when you turn them. Want to turn up the volume? Twist the knob until you hear the very loud click, then release. Repeat over and over to keep raising the volume. You can twist to the click and hold, but it takes several seconds before the volumes starts going up...so it's actually faster to click it 10-15 times to reach full volume.

Do you like to turn your iPod on and let it play for hours on end as mood or background music? If that's the extent of your needs, fear not as this unit will do the job. I hate that it doesn't get very loud, but it does sound good...for an entry level unit.

Do you like to play and active part in your music, selecting songs, adjusting volumes, etc., etc? If so, do NOT buy this unit.

For my needs, it's a keeper because it was so cheap. I'm guessing most users would hate it though.

I had been searching for a portable dock for my iPhone that looked like it might be able to withstand a knock or two; I am not kind to my electronics. I found this thing and thought it fit the bill pretty nicely. Sound was pretty good, I didn't bother much with the apps at the time, saw no point in it. This little unit is actually ok! I gave it 4 stars because it is really cheap looking, but doesnt look bad when installed. When you get this unit care fully read directions for hook up installation. Its not that bad if you are familiar with electronics and radio installation! You should at least have some experience in this first! Just a tip, if you are interested in keeping this D.I.C but also want a double din touchscreen you can actually hide this cheap looking unit in the glove box or inconspicous place. all you have to do is cut it down to size but be careful not to damage the lcd componets. Thats what im going to do in my wifes car. its a price to pay at 135 bucks , but it is worth keeping the info to me and for her too! Figured i would buy a cheap cd player to put in for her with ipod and usb port, but its too junky and i talked her into a double din so thats what i plan to do!

This unit works perfect. I have a G6 convertible and it maintained all my driver information. It plus directly into your old harness and your new aftermarket radio would sit right on top of it. I still get the right car data such as roof not closed or low fuel. It maintains everything. You can even change the button color. You can even go to Metra's site to see if it is compatible with your car. I recommend this for anyone who wants to install a single DIN radio. The only wire connecting you have to do is from the aftermarket unit to this unit and its pretty self explanatory in the instruction.

Able to set the alarm to radio and also set the volume. (the volume starts low and then gradually increases to set volume nice feature!)

Setting up the alarms is a bit tricky, but just follow the instructions carefully.

My radio channel is bit noisy, and need to play around with the antenna to get a good signal.

Purchased this little clock radio for my kitchen and love it. Sound is decent for the price and I like that it has a much smaller footprint than a lot of the other clock radio docking stations.

I'm able to easily dock my iPhone 4S with my Griffin case still on it. However, my husband cannot fit his Otter case into the dock (no big surprise).

I bought this at an hhgregg, so not Amazon, but I think it is great so far (1 day old) and it can fill a room with clean sound. It can use Pandora, but the FM radio does not work very well.

I have this sitting next to monitor at work and most people don't even notice it. It is cute and I love that it charges my iPhone while playing music. The only downside is that it is very difficult to respond to text messages while it is docked you can get to the keyboard and send, it is just an awkward angle for typing. Probably a good thing since I am work and should just be listening to music anyway.

Some of these people who leave reviews need to stop leaving reviews. Just because you couldn't figure out how to work it doesn't mean the product is bad. My family and I purchased a total of 3 of these on thanksgiving and they work perfect. The cords are definitely way too short for practical use and it's not mind blowing sound, but who expects it to be for the price and size. Wake up people. Just because you had ridiculous expectations and/or are electronic-illiterate, doesn't make the product bad. I would buy it again. I have this bar hooked up to my 42" LG tv with an Optical Audio cable and it sounds great! I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with shared walls and this unit is perfect for a good full sound without disturbing the neighbors. Compared to the LG tv speakers this bar is waaaay better sounding even at low volume. The bass is full and boomy and the mids and highs are nice and clear. It really brings movies to life! For me this bar was the lowest cost option for the Optical Audio input and I am very happy with my purchase. The only con that I have is the volume kinda jumps from quiet to kinda loud with just one click of the volume button. I would of liked to have the volume control more detailed but I can compensate with the volume control within my PC and my PS3 to tune the volume where its not too quiet but not too loud. So for me it was really just about getting a fuller better sound rather than a loud movie theater style surround system but this system will go to volume levels high enough that I will never use. I would really recommend this low cost sound bar option for someone in a similar living situation.

Using my own reasonably long cables I was able to connect it up, but alas,no sound was forthcoming. Instructions are completely useless. I returned it to Amazon for a refund. I haven't tried all the features on this radio, but so far it's very good. Extremely solid with very clear sound and reception (mono the radio only has one speaker). Very good battery life. About water resistance... I don't know about that. As a product designer there's a serious design flaw I can spot right away, and it's about water. Once you pick up the radio by it's handle, the battery compartment gets facing up. Frankly, the compartment will not keep water outside, even less if water is dripping from your hand in case of a shower to a facing up cheap battery compartment's cap. Inside the compartment there are a couple of holes that give direct access to the interior of the radio. Well... You do the math. The problem could have been prevented by using a simple water tight cap attached with screws. Lame. Anyway I'm still loving the device. I'll handle the water problem myself. It has a very readable green display and crank operation is very smooth. Solid antenna. Flashlight is bright indeed. I hope this helps.

*** UPDATE ***

I returned the FR1000 and purchased a FR500. The FR500 has all the attributes of the FR1000, but is solar (it works), has way better water protection and shortwave! Yeah I'm missing the two way radio thing, but is not such a big deal. The range is short anyway (~10 miles)I can always get a good receiver with the money saved in the FR500. Uff... now I'm in love indeed.

I have owned an earlier model of the Eton hand-crank emergency radio for several years. That product works quite will. I purchased this new model for the several functional enhancements it comes with: 1) Digital receiver, 2) NOAA receiver, and 3) FRS/GMRS radio base station transceiver capability.

Once I started to use this new FR1000 model, I realized just how much of a piece of junk it is:

1. Bad battery pack The rechargeable battery pack failed from the beginning. I charged it overnight out of the box. Two days later, when I used the radio in the field, it lasted all of 5 minutes.

2. Terrible reception on all bands I used the FR1000 in two separate and very different environments, and compared it to two other common radios. In the field, where there was very limited reception, the FR1000 could not pick up any FM stations, and only 1 AM station. My mini-van radio picked up all sorts of stations on both AM and FM bands. In town, the FR1000 could pick up a few local stations if the signal was strong. My motel room el-cheapo clock radio picked up far more stations on both AM and FM bands. The FR1000 never did pick up any NOAA stations.

3. Poor station change dial switch design On the FR1000, in order to change stations, you have to turn the upper right-hand dial upwards or downwards. On order to do that, you have to get your finger into the space alloted for the horizontal dial. I found that doing so caused my finger to jam into that limited space. Searching for stations was both uncomfortable and difficult. This is a really annoying design flaw.

4. No radio carry case My older model radio came with a carry case, for protection and easy transport. This model does not have any such case. That is really annoying. I feel like Eton added insult to injury when they decided to go the cheap route and not include a carry case. Jeez, this radio costs $150, and is supposed to be used in emergency situations! What were those guys/gals thinking about?

I returned the FR1000 and will stick with my older Eton analogue model. Half the size, half the cost, has a carry case, and is far more functional. Oh, and it actually picks up radio stations! Wow ... what a concept!

Oh well.

First, don't buy the case Amazon Bundles this with. I can not see any application with the two and the case is about half the size of the Radio.

Yes the radio isn't water proof or resistant. It would be nice if they would fix that, it really wouldn't take much. I went out to a local store and payed $3 for a water proof bag to seal this in.

It would also be nice if the radio had a shortwave feature since they have everything else.

As for everything else this is the radio you have to have for emergencies! It has everything in a rugged design and you never have to worry about stupid batteries. In an emergencies the last thing you are going to find is batteries.

I bought this radio at a sharper image closeout. I wish I didnt, as now I cannot take it back. TERRIBLE reception! The piece of junk radio I found on the side of the road picks up more stations than the FR1000 does. In order for me to get it to work I have to attach a jerry rigged aluminum foil antenna to the radio. Even then it still does not work very well. Eton tech support have been totally unresponsive. The hand crank dynamo only works while you crank, as the battery does not hold a charge very well.

Avoid this model...

The radio doesn't get good reception. We had to attach an antenna, and still can't hear it well. I figured with the quality and price, it should receive better than it does.

I have an older model of this alarm clock and it is the best alarm clock I've ever owned. In fact, I like it so much I'm buying one for my boyfriend.

There are two alarms, I like to keep one for my usual wake time and use the other for other purposes, a nap AND a sleep feature, as well as a snooze button, AM/FM radio, and an auxiliary jack for an mp3 player. The numbers are bright and large and no problem to read. The time is easy to set. All you do is select daylight savings, or not, and push the time zone button until it cycles to your time zone. The only thing that was difficult to get the hang of was using the nap feature. You push the button once, select the desired time, and push it again to set the alarm. To turn it off you have to push and hold the nap button until the "nap" blinks three times and the display returns to the time.

This has some really nice features, and the display is easy to read. The auto time feature worked great. The only thing it needs is a better speaker. The one we bought ten years ago has a much better sound. This one has a very tinny and cheap sound quality.

I am a huge iHome fan and have been buying their products for years. In fact, whenever it comes time for me to replace or buy an iPod dock in my home, I look for an iHome.

On my nightstand I currently have/had the iHome iH80 Speaker System for iPod (Black) . I bought it on February 28, 2008 when it was a Deal of the Day. To this day it looks and works like it is brand new! In my bathroom I currently have the iHome iH22SV Alarm Clock Speaker System for iPod . I wanted both docks to charge. I loved that the one in my bedroom had a remote and not necessarily a lighted clock. Sometimes lights are too bright. The bathroom iHome I have only had for a few months and wanted it to be small and with a lighted clock. I need to know what time it is as I get ready. The one in the bathroom even though it is small, the sound is tinny and the time is always off a few minutes. I have reset the time but somehow it always ends a few minutes behind again.

In comes the iHome iD37. I decided to replace my nightstand iHome with the new unit. The iD37 has a small footprint and leaves a lot more space on my nightstand. Comparing it to the iH80, I love that the unit is smaller and easier to reach. I took pictures and added them to the gallery so you could see the unit with both other iHomes I own. I placed my newest generation iPod touch on the unit and just hit the `time synch' button and boom, it displayed the time that the iPod has! No more hitting buttons for endless minutes if the power goes out. Plus, it comes with a back up battery in case the battery does go out. The equalizer is a nice touch but I use the one built into the iPod. I love that I can turn the bass, treble, or balance, up/down or left/right. The unit also comes with a remote which my iH80 had and has a similar layout. I owned my other remote for over 3 years and it never died on me and I used it every night. I also read in another review the remote comes with an extra battery. Mine came with only one, it is in a separate bag though so you can place it into the remote once you open the box, no corrosion then. I was fearful that the dimmer/lighted clock might be too bright. My iH22 has only 3 light settings and at it highest I use it as a night light in my bathroom. This one has 8 settings, 7 going from high to low and the 8th is off completely. I love that! I do not have to be blinded with a light on my night stand.

Sound wise I don't know how they got so much sound in such a small unit. I expected since it was about the same size of my iH22 the sound might be similar. However, the sound is INCREDIBLE!! It is rich and fills the room! It amazes me that it is coming from such a small device. Another thing that fit the bill for me is the USB port on the side. I charge my phone on a bookcase across the bedroom and like to sleep with my cell phone on my night stand. This solves that! I used a USB cable with a micro USB and it can stay on my night stand now and I can charge it if need be. That is a wonderful feature to have! I have tested this unit on the first generation iPod and the latest and both play flawlessly.

I could not be happier with the dock. If I were to tell iHome all the features I wanted in a unit, they just built it! Please look at the photo gallery to get an idea on the size of the unit compare to other iHome models. I would not pass this one up if it has all the features you are looking for.

I've been trying different alarm clocks to try and find one that fit all my criteria and it looks like I've accomplished my goal. Here are the reasons I like this clock.

Pros:

1. Display is big enough to read when I make up in the middle of the night. Numerals are about an inch tall LCD, black on a white background.

2. Display has 7 settings. Just click through the settings until you find the brightness that's right for you to sleep with. The final setting turns the display off completely (it re-lights when the alarm goes off).

3. Alarm is easy to set and can be setup for 7, 5, or 2 day. Can set 2 alarms.

4. Time auto synchs. DST is set with a switch in the back.

5. Can use buzzer, playlist (requires a specific playlist name through iTunes to work),iPod/iTouch/iPhone, or radio.

6. Can preset up to 6 radio stations.

7. Controls are easy to access and use. Setup instructions are clear and easy to follow.

8. Comes with 2 AA battery backup. Will warn you when these batteries need to be changed.

9. Charges iPod/iTouch/iPhone while attached. Also has a USB port to charge a separate device (may not work on specific devices).

10. Can play an older device through the 3.5mm Aux connection (e.g. iPod Shuffle).

11. Has a remote control that actually comes with an extra battery. I've never seen that before.

12. Small footprint on my nightstand.

Cons:

1. Can't set a custom alarm (e.g. Tuesdays and Thursdays only). Minor nit but worth mentioning.

2. Has a brick type power cord.

Overall this clock is highly recommended. The speakers sound surprisingly good for such a small device. Has an equalizer so you can tweak the sound to your liking. Fairly basic changes but it's really kind of an icing on the cake type feature. No more clock hunting for me!

The sound quality of the machine is awesome! It holds the ipod and iphone perfectly on the, the ipad when connected must be kept away from anything that can knock into it as it will cause the docking station to flip. The only other issue we had was that it doesnt have am radio which we listened to in the morning before work. It also has usb ports to charge other media like my kindle. Other than that it was a great purchase and I am happy with it.

First the bad: if you are using an iPad, make sure you add the extra dock padding. The connector is slightly raised, and if you don't use the dock pad, you will find that your iPad will be unstable. If the unit is suddenly moved or something hits the unit awkwardly, your connector and iPad jack is at risk for damage.

Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with this unit. There are quite a few buttons to learn how to use, and the unit has a rechargeable battery system that is very useful for when you lose power or the (unwieldy) power supply unit is not plugged into an outlet. The supplementary USB jack is very useful. I can use/charge my Apple products and my Android phone, or another USB gadget at the same time.

The radio does have a separate, thin wired antenna. I simply wrapped it around the power cord so that it wouldn't get accidentally eaten by a cat.
