Okay folks, this isn't a 52 inch flat screen tv with 1080p resolution. This is a small 15 inch LCD tv that is meant for a kitchen and delivers all the features that you would want in a kitchen in a compact design. With that in mind, it is perfect. I ran my Insight cable to the tv and the picture is great. Obviously the digital channels that come in from cable look substantially better than the standard cable tv channels. It is like this with most digital LCD tvs though. WIth that said, the digital channels that I do have have a suprisingly really good picture. The FM and AM radios work flawlessly for me with clear channels coming in. The dvd player also worked fine with a clear picture. The remote control is indeed magnetic and is not the strongest magnet you are going to find. If you carefully place it on the fridge (not quickly throwing it on there) then it holds fine without sliding. The screen magnet is indeed a bit weak also. I will probably add a magnet to it to better secure the screen when it is placed up and not in use. The sound is fine for me. There are actually quite a few setting options on this unit that include picture setting (you can adjust a few picture settings such as contrast and brightness) although mine looked fine right out of the box. It also has an auto tuner for the tv that was able to search and find all of my cable stations once I plugged in the cable. I have not tried the tv with a standard tv antenna as I have access to cable tv in my kitchen and went that route.

BTW in terms of channel auto tuning--I read some reviews on another model made by COBY that people were not able to run the auto channel search after doing it the first time when you intitally set it up and the power would go out or you had to retune for whatever reason. You can run the auto scan anytime you want on this tv and it seems to work fine even with the power going out a few times with this tv.

There are not alot of options out there in terms of under-the-cabinet tvs and I did quite a bit of research before deciding to purchase this one. I settled on this one because the price was right and it had a large screen on it. I was somewhat turned off by all the negative reviews for most of the under-the-cabinet tvs but I am glad I decided to purchase this one as I am very happy with what I got. It looks really nice hanging in my kitchen and it doesn't take any space at all when folded up. I have only had the unit for a couple weeks so if I have any problems in the future I will be sure to update. But as of this moment, I would highly recommend this for anyone who has realistic expectations for a LCD tv that is truly meant for the kitchen. For an under-the-cabinet 15inch LCD tv/radio/dvd player for 200.00, I could not be more happy. I am enjoying it and suggest anyone on the fence to give it a try.

After doing a lot of research on under cabinet TVs, the Coby 10.2 seemed to make sense. The company claimed to improve the technology with an ATSC tuner for homes with digital cable, however they did not resolve an ongoing problem that dates back two years, that I only learned of after buying this, running coax cable to the kitchen, installing it, and having the product fail. I will not explain it in detail, but warn buyers that if you plan to use this in LCD TV/DVD player ONLY for or as an AV in only source, it works well, So you can send an RCA cable output from your cable box in the other room to this device through it's AV inputs and watch only what the cable box is playing. If you want to use it to also tune in stations, even basic cable stations and you have digital or HDTV channels, the Coby TV is prone to failure. It gives you one shot to auto tune the channels. After it finds available channels, which it did well, if you power off the device and unplug, it will give you a "no database" error message and no longer display the channels. Once this error code appears, according to Coby, it can not be undone and the device's internal chip cannot re-tune channels. Restoring the device to factory settings fails. There is nothing in the manual about this problem, or warnings about it, and they just claim returning it is only option. They claim its a problem with the manufacturing. If you search the internet for this problem with the Coby LCD TV, you will find many postings about it. Buyers beware.

My first impression of the Coby Under-The-Cabinet TV/DVD player is that it is flimsy and cheap. The screen is a bit loose and just doesn't feel like it's put together all that well. I'm afraid that one of these days when I'm putting the screen up or down that it's going to break so I have to be very gentle with it.

Now with that said, it has a pretty good picture when watching TV and an "OK" picture when watching a DVD. Don't know why it would be different, but it does seem to be. Maybe it's the DVD's optics. The sound is GREAT when watching TV, but I had to crank up the volume all of the way when I was watching a DVD. Oh, and there's no headphone jack on this. Yes, where I have this mounted I would like a headphone jack even though MOST people who buy one of these really wouldn't care.

OH, and it's REALLY a 10.2 inch, not 10. Amazon needs to change the description.

All in all it's a pretty decent unit. I'd recommend it.

After reading all of the other negative feedback about this item, I decided to give it a try myself.

It arrived very quickly. The box itself is constructed rather thin so I did tear it partially when I picked it up around the handle. That would be why there is a handle there... Don't forget to use it.

I opened the box and everything was there except the mounting template... Oh well, I am a man so I continued...

I immediately read the instructions. I did not like the instructions. The installation was easy; however, the wording in the installation instructions appeared funny. It explains to use the mounting template, which I could not find right off the bat because it was wrapped in with the screen under the packing foam. The mounting took about 5 minutes. I forgot to check the side of the cabinet and the size of the player and it turned out I had to offset the player to compensate for the cables coming out of the player on the back wall. I had to mount the front of the player about a 1/4 inch out away from the bottom of the cabinet to give about a 2 1/2 inch gap between the wall and the back of the player.

After all the connections were made, I powered up the tv. (NOTE: There is a FM Radio attenna which I could not plug in. It was as if the attenna plug was smaller than the plug on the player. I ended up not using it and have to make my own antenna to use the FM radio.

The programming portion scared me a little. In many of the other reviews many people said that if you programed it wrong it would brick the player and you could only use if for DVD/CD and FM/AM Radio. After reading the programing instructions I can see why. The programming portion I believe could be aggrivating to some people but it looks very common sense based so there is some guessing with common sense involved. I think to make it easier, they should explain it in better detail and include a step by step photo guide. Auto Progamming the tv took about 5-8 minutes. Be sure to let it run and stop on it's own do not cancel out of it if you think it hangs.

The picture quality is not that bad for a 10.2" however it is somewhat smaller. I started to think about returning it for a 15" but now that it's installed I am going to keep it. I added some photos of the player after I installed it. The TFT display does the normal straight on view. At an angle the screen can appear dark or blank which is normal.

The speaker quality was good and clear. There however is no lows in it. It's about mid range. If you're used to the bass in a surround sound station you would be disappointed but this was for my son to mainly watch so I am not all that worried about it.

There is a little delay when changing modes from DVD/CD TV AV FM/AM and DVD/CD play loading takes a few seconds to perform.

All and All not a bad buy.

Recommendations to you before buying:

1. Be sure there is a cable outlet next to the power outlet (I had to install the cable outlet.)

2. Measure the cabinet space and then subtract about 2 1/2 inches from it to accomodate space for wiring. What you have left over is the true space you have to work with and compare that with the player. Also, you will need to take into consideration as to whether or not there is a lip under the cabinet if so, you need something for spacers to make sure the player is flush on the bottom of the cabinet.

I ordered this TV for my newly renovated kitchen and have used it for a month. So far I love it -have not used the radio or DVD yet. The only thing I will say negative is that they did not supply any plastic mounting spacers that go between the TV and the underside of the cabinet to keep the TV mounted under the edge of the cabinet. I cut some 3/4" thick wood pieces to take us this space and it worked fine. Picture qulaity is very good using Verizon Fios cable.

I love it!! $59.99 at HH Gregg. The only drawback is no remote control. It's a basic portable clock radio ipod dock. Good sound out of small speakers. No speaker adjustment that I could find, so I think with the Ipod you do that with the ipod's internal equalizer settings. This would not be suitable if you are looking for a high powered dock. But I think it is superior for its size and functionality.

Very lightweight-under a pound. Very easy to move and carry around or put into suitcase.

I bought it to use on my kitchen counter so I can listen to ipod music or podcasts while cooking and washing dishes. On my counter I already have a $500 Polkaudio CD/HD radio. It's got incredible sound but in its current place on the kitchen counter, only a couple of radio stations come in. The little JVC picks up every station that I want to listen to..which are not the strongest ones because they are on the left end of the fm dial, and mostly public radio or local college stations.

Although the POlkaudio has an input to hook up an ipod with a cord, I could never get it to work, with either the single pole cord or the one with the 2 rca screw in ends. So, one of the reasons I'm so happy with this besides the quality of the sound and the good design is that it is small enough to add to the counter next to the Polkaudio without crowding the counter.

It does not come with ipod dock adapters so you must buy them separately.

I have two of these. I really like this product because it doesn't take up to much space. The sound sounds good enough for me. Compactabilty fits in my purse/backback and runs either on power cable or batteries. One downside is you don't get AM radio. I use one at my cabin and can set it in the window sill. So I would recommend this to everyone. Plus features batteries or outlet, size, alarm, FM, IPod. It will also charge your Ipod when using outlet plug. Downside is no AM radio and with batteries it doesn't charge your IPod.

I've had this gps for almost 2 months now at the start I thought it was the best thing ever but after using it for a while I found it had major shortcomings , like the weight restriction warning ,it seams to have them all wrong eg. For 30 miles on I-80E in NE it keeps telling me that the limit is between 1.5 tons and 17 tons and keeps trying to get me to take the state route instead . That was the biggest mistake so far, there have been a lot of small roads it thinks have a weight limit but do not, like our terminal in Dallas it says the road into it has a 10ton limit, the only people who use it are truck drivers !! I have to find some way to disable the weight warning till garmin get there act together and figure out its wrong , all they have to do is buy a copy of rand McNally and it tells them the overweight roads . Another thing they are missing is a lot of weigh stations and it would be nice to get an audible warning when they are coming up . Given that this is a gps mainly for truckers they could have put in an alert for a time zone change like some other truck gps systems have . I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and given this is the most expensive truck gps out there I'm disappointed to say the least . If they bring out updates and fix the problems I will update my rating because as it stands the unit is unreliable as its routing around roads it thinks I can't use

I bought a Cobra 8000 at first. It was horrible, so I exchanged it for this Garmin 760. I am so glad I did. It feels like a quality piece of equipment when your holding it. The graphics are really good too. I am a professional truck driver and really like all the little features it has. It will notify me if there is a change in speed limit coming up or a sharp curve or even a steep downgrade. I also like how dark I can adjust it for night, or how super bright I can make it during the day. You can get audio books on it if you chose. I am excited about this thing and just wish I started out buying this one first. Garmin only makes GPS devices, so you know they put a lot of effort into making good ones.

Received my new Garmin dezl 760lmt jan 2nd and wow. Once you get past the size shock you get to turn it on. As a 465t user this is an upgrade. Operating system a little different and awkward at fits but then after a day or so it clicks and you see the car improvement in speed and ease of searches. The display and turn information is top notch. Still playing with the hos apps. The weather radar as the other options they talk about with their Android link service are subscription services. The weather radar is $4.99/year. That one I bought and it is great. Sorry I phone users, no app for you yet. Traffic is much improved over part model also. Keep up the great work Garmin

The Dezl 760 works as advertised.

There are some issues however:

1) The ecoRoute HD accessory only works when you select automobile mode. It does not work in truck or RV mode.

2) The unit is very large. It can seriously impact your forward visibility if you use it in a small car. Also it is unstable if you use a bean bag mount. I use the bean bag because I use it in more than 1 vehicle.

3) When you are connecting it to a computer be aware that there are 2 USB slots on the device. The mini-USB slot in the back is only for charging. The micro-USB slot on the bottom is for connecting to a computer.

4) When I connected it to the computer, it indicated that I needed to update the maps. It failed in the attempt. One message I got in the process indicated it didn't have enough space on the device. The map it was trying to install is the same one that came on the device, so I don't know if it will work for future releases or not. I may need to add a microSD card.

The things I like about the unit:

1) There is a dashboard that shows 4 different data items at the bottom of the screen.

2) You can also customize 3 buttons on the right side of the screen.

3) It is easier to see and use than my Nuvi 1490.

4) It has a better receiver than my Nuvi 1490. It gets a good signal in my office downstairs. The Nuvi gets nothing.

I am using this in my RV.

I run team with my wife, about 5000 miles a week. While a GPS does not replace the atlas, we sure wanted a good one. We had a little 4-wheeler tom-tom that worked extremely well. But we wanted a larger screen, larger maps, an easy-to-read screen. After many hours reading reviews online about all the top trucker GPS makes and versions we chose this one. We are amazed at how frequently this GPS is dead WRONG about truck routing. We got a trucker GPS mainly because the tom-tom did not do truck routes and it as a big gamble. Time after time this Garmin would alert us to the fact that the road we were on was not an approved truck route when indeed the roads all lead to truck stops with hundreds of trucks going in and out all day. And time after time we were on old well established state roads that are major off interstate approved truck routes only to once again have the garmin tell us we were on roads NOT approved for trucking. This happens on nearly 50% of well-known truck routes we run. This thing is a total joke! We read and re-read the instructions to make sure all was right on our use of it. We tested it on routes we normally use to see how accurate it was. On one run it re-routed us three times as we drove past the exits it wanted us to take, and all three times it was wrong! It is a shame it is not more accurate because otherwise it is a beautiful unit. The screen is large and clear, we can read it from the sleeper. The audio is loud and clear. While running down the road the large icons are easy to see and to tap. you can use this one without driving out of your lane. It is very easy to use, very easy to learn. The mounting and power setups are also very good. We use the dash mount on horribly rough roads that throw stuff out of the sleeper and this unit takes it all just fine. We downloaded all the latest updates, and even that went well. In other words this would be a wonderful GPS for Pro drivers IF the routing was far more accurate. Yet since a trucker GPS is supposed to help keep us off restricted routes and keep us on approved routes, and since the Garmin does NOT do this, not even close, I have to give it a low rating.

I've had the iyiyi for about 2 weeks. I did a lot of shopping around before taking a shot in the dark and ordering this thing online. What makes it beat the Bose is the fact that it has a radio and that you can hook other devices into it.

The sound is sharp and it fills a large sized room. The sound is not overpowering, though. On songs with a lot of heavy base, it does distort a little at high volumes. Tivoli recommends not turning on ipod's equalizer as this could cause damage to the speakers.

I can pick up radio stations from far away. It looks really cool. My ipod looks like it belongs with it. It is compact, so it fits just about anywhere you want to put it without taking up too much space. The power cord is just that, a power cord. It tucks away neatly.

The other cool thing about it is that when you unplug it, it remembers what time it is and your preset radio stations.

I like this product and I think it is worth the price.

After a lot of browsing around for a bookshelf iPod system, I chose the Iyiyi and really, really like it.

I found that I could easily adjust and fix sound issues via my iPod's EQ settings. Initially my bass was a bit distorted, but a few adjustments on the iPod itself made this Tivoli unit sound bright, full, and crisp. I know some people prefer the sound on the Bose SoundDock, but I have to wonder if they might have changed their mind if they had used the Iyiyi and just made some changes on their player--for me it just took five minutes of tinkering and listening. To each his own, I guess.

Very pretty. Awesome sound. No snooze.

I received the iYiYi as a gift meant to replace my iHome alarm clock. It's definitely an upgrade in terms of sound quality, but I wasn't looking for new speakers.

Also, it took three email exchanges with Tivoli customer service before confirming there was in fact no snooze function for the alarm.

I'm back to using my iHome and am only disappointed with the lack of snooze. It's otherwise a great product. The alarm feature shouldn't be used in marketing.

Sound-wise this system delivers. The iPod cradle is not compatible with my 2nd generation Touch. It will play, but not charge. This was a disappoint. At that time customer support advised of an additional 3rd party purchase ( $40-50) that would provide that functionality.

I already had the hardware that enables both an audio connection using the headphone output on the Touch and charging. This allows me to play music and read with an ereader app. Would not be able to do that using the dock, so the issue faded for me.

It does say in the manuel something about not being compatible with later iPod models. This is not easily perceived from the website( at least for me).

I own two other Tivoli radios and was pleased with their performance and sound. This system matches that part of my expectation, excluding the cradle. I view that more of a reflection of the Apple progression and the drumbeat of technology change.

Digital Innovations 4100300 Plug-and-Play Speaker Dock for Android Smartphones - Retail Packaging -

After my trusty JBL On Stage kicked the bucket, I was looking for something else to fill my needs for amplifying my phone, MP3 player or laptop. My main requirements were that it sound decent, be able to work off a 3.5mm jack, be small enough to be reasonably portable, and be able to get fairly loud.

In these respects, the Digital Innovations Android Docking Station has mostly met or exceeded expectations. I admit I'm a little wary of having the 3.5mm jack hard-wired in, as those thin cables and connections will often stop transmitting sound in a quality way, but too soon to borrow trouble on that count.

The sound quality, while I'm sure it isn't hi-fi, is perfectly decent, and certainly better than the output of my phone. And it gets nice and loud. I can hear it well in other rooms and should be able to hear it over the shower, which is one of the major requirements for me.

It is a bonus that this item is made to work with my Android phone, so there's no need to worry about losing power while listening to my podcasts or music. The Sonr labs app, which is still in beta, interacts perfectly with all of my music and podcasting programs, even ones that are not "recommended," such as my DoggCatcher podcast app.

In fact, it is via the Sonr app, that I've realized some unlooked-for benefits of using this device. The Sonr program allows me to control all my listening apps with a remote, so that I can control the volume, pause, mute, and even skip tracks. And my universal learning remote was able to pick up all these commands, so I don't have to worry about keeping up with the credit-card-sized remote the dock came with.

So far, my experience is limited, and I'll try and make sure to update this review if anything changes my opinion, but as of now, I'm looking forward to putting this sucker on my bedside table, and seeing if I can make it function as a decent clock radio!

ETA: Still very happy with the overall product. The power light, though, is REALLY BRIGHT, so it functions as a decent clock radio/really bright night light. Genius that I am, I solved this problem by placing a piece of electrical tape over the light, and I promise, I can still see the light through the tape! But at least it doesn't light up the room at night.

The Sonr app is still working okay, though a couple of times I've needed to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again. I also wish I didn't have to remember to exit the app in the AM, otherwise I can't get any sound to come out of my phone speaker. The joys of beta! :)

I received my speakers the other day and so far so good. The speakers have great quality for such a small package. In fact I was very impressed and surprised with the amount of sound that these produced. It is more than enough to fill my bedroom, adjoining loft, and bathroom with sound. I also like the fact that they take up little space on my nightstand. I must thank Digital Innovations for being one of the few companies that offers a speaker docking station for Android. Of the three options I found that could truly charge your Android phone while listen to music, this one seemed to fit my needs the best. The things that I liked about this product vs. the other products is that this product allows you to situate your phone horizontal AND vertical. Which means that when situated horizontally you can stream movies when using the speakers. The other two options did not allow for this if you had bottom connecting phone charger port. One of the options (Philips Fidelio) also did not receive good reviews with the android app that allows you to control the remote control which was also an important deciding factor for me. The last option (Samsung) is a relatively new high end product and is marketed out of my price range.

I haven't download the app to be able to use the remote for this product yet, but when I do, I'll try and remember to report back with an update of how things went.

A note to any manufacturer reading this review. I think that these speakers are a great start for a basic speaker dock for Android. However, it would nice to see a product that offers an internal rechargeable Lithium ion battery for speaker portability. It would also be nice to see various options for output power (10 watts, 30 watts, etc..). I am very surprised that manufactures are not keeping in mind that Android phones takes up the majority shares of smartphones on the market. I am also surprised that they haven't wanted to tap into a market with little to no competition.

One last thing. As far as the seller: shopcelldeals. A+++++++ Seller. They not only had the best pricing but they had extremely fast shipping. I received it 2 business days after ordering the product! Great job shopcelldeals.

I received this speaker dock as a gift. It works excellent with my Android Razr Maxx! I have had no problems with it at all. However, I have chosen not to download the app for the remote control instead I just use the volume control on my phone. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a nice, inexpensive speaker system for their office.

The delivery was super fast. The speakers sound really sweet, and my wife loves it. The remote works great excellent...and works with Andriod. It does not work with my BlackBerry...but nothing really does?

I bought the same phone and I can't agree with the fact that it's built for kids and that the screen doesn't work! I have used the phone for almost 2 weeks and the screen works perfect without a problem. The build quality of the phone is excellent, made out of a high quality plastic. Battery life is around 3-4 days with 2 hours of talking per day, that is also nice. For the price it's a deal breaker. it's not a smartphone but it's perfect for texting messages. I would recommend this phone for those who want a simple phone with all the basic functions that has a qwerty key pad, it's stylish and not expensive!

She really likes her new phone. All the features work. We have Cellular One as our carrier. She had to call and get a code. Once that was done, the phone has connected to our plan with no problems. Hope this review helps.

This phone has many problems, but let's start with the positive. It is a nice size, wifi capable and has a slide out keyboard. Great now on to the problems.

I have only had this phone 4 months, I don't have bluetooth or wifi on, and it will only stay charged ONE day. I have to charge this phone at least once a day, more if I actually use it.

The keyguard will unlock if the keyboard is slid out even a little. This is bad if you keep it in your pocket, it will butt dial A LOT.

You cannot use a stylus, and the tiny screen makes it hard to click on tiny links that are right above one another.

Camera switches to video to easily. You can miss great shots by not realizing it is set to video.

Sensitivity. Hard to scan through contacts and menus. It will open menus when you try to scan through. Sometimes it's really sensitive, other times you are practically pounding on the screen to get something to open.

I started to not like this phone just a couple weeks after I bought it, and can't find anything I do like. I had hopes that it might finally make me happy, but no luck.

I purchased this phone for my daughter so I wouldn't have to renew another contract for two more years from AT&T. I was disappointed to learn after I purchased it that you can take and send pics from this phone, but cannot view pics sent to you via text. If you have a teenager, you know how important this feature is! After having the phone only a month, the phone started having issues and would not allow you to retrieve any text messages at all. HTC Amaze 4G Android Phone, White (T-Mobile)

Let me preface this review with my past phones. I've been thru 7 BlackBerrys in the last 6 years with Verizon. I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile as both my wife and I were constantly dropping calls in our home. I won't ever look back.

This phone is smoking fast. The UI is snappy and I've experienced 0 lag switching between programs even while streaming a movie over the 4G connection. I've downloaded and installed 10+ apps in the past few days including Netflix, a yahoo fantasy football app, a few games, a few social networking and chat apps as well as 3 different game emulators. I had 0 issues with installing any of the apps on this phone. When the 4G connection is active, webpages actually load faster than on my laptop over a local WiFi-n connection.

I've read reviews of HTC phones having issues with the quality of the speaker. I was able to use this phone in the middle of a very noisy state fair, surrounded by screaming kids, rides and other distractions without having to plug my other ear to hear the caller's voice. My friend later told me that he had no issues hearing me either. I find that the speakerphone works well, but the sound quality is better when I flip the phone over. My wife says I sound like I'm on a land line when I use the speakerphone, and the sound coming thru the speaker was not tin-cannish.

The screen is amazing. There's a handy app built into the phone that tells you what is draining the battery the most. After quickly draining the phone (4 hours) a few times, I discovered this app and saw that the screen was eating up 95% of the battery life. Changing the brightness of the screen to the lowest setting greatly increased the battery life, but it still looks great when dimmed.

The camera is snappy. I can take pictures as quickly as I can hit the button and they look amazing. The auto-focus can sometimes be finicky in low-light situations, but overall I have to say this could easily replace my $250 Sony point-and-shoot camera, and I haven't even begun to touch all of the camera modes on the Amaze. The video is fantastic as well. When viewing the 1080p playback on my tv, my family was blown away with the quality of the picture. The sound capture on the video could be a little better, but that is a minor deterrent.

If there is one major drawback to the Amaze, it would have to be POP3 email issues. I found the POP3 email delivery system / syncing adequate at best when using Hotmail and a school email account. Gmail syncs well, so if that is your only email address, you should be fine with this phone. POP3 emails seem to disappear and reappear whenever they want, deleted emails sometimes don't stay deleted and I occasionally receive notifications for emails I've already read. I'm a systems analyst and even when working with T-Mobile support and trying to tweak every syncing setting there is, we could not get this to perform as well as a BlackBerry with regards to email delivery. That being said, the official Hotmail app from Microsoft works without a hitch on this phone. I installed that and it has been smooth sailing ever since.

Battery life is not awesome on this phone if you use it for anything besides email / calls / texting. However, I didn't expect it to be with the qHD Super LCD display and when running everything else that I do (Facebook, games, streaming video, messaging apps, taking pictures/video). I'm getting between 5-6 hours of battery life before I hit the 15% mark. Installing JuiceDefender from the Android Market helped the life, as well as disabling Bluetooth and the GPS connection.

Few other quick points:

The FM radio and MP3s sound wonderful over headphones / earbuds. No distortion.

The GPS navigation works better than my 2 year old Garmin, and syncing Google map directions with calendar entries is easy and helpful.

This phone is slightly weightier than the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S2, but for me this is a bonus. I prefer using a phone that doesn't feel like it could snap in half if I sit on it by accident.

If you are up in the air between the HTC Amaze and the Samsung Galaxy S2, you really can't go wrong either way. Go into a T-Mobile store and play with each as I did to see what your personal preference is. Enjoy!

As another reviewer has statedHTC Amaze 4G Android Phone, Black (T-Mobile), the sound quality of recorded video is not that great. Since I've had more time to play with mine I've noticed that in some instances it is very hard to hear people speaking unless they are looking directly at the phone.

I've also seen a remarkable jump in battery life since updating the Amaze with software version 1.36.531.6. I can now use the phone for 12+ hours before hitting 15% most days (in good coverage areas).

Most beautiful, highest-quality hardware on the market. You can tell HTC takes a lot of pride in this phone. It's stylized down to the 'Sense' user interface, surely the most impressive UI on any device.

Aside from obvious aesthetic appeal, 'Amaze' is a significant upgrade from the Sensation. HTC addressed most of my gripes w/ Sensation by giving Amaze a hardware camera button, more onboard memory, more RAM & more ghz. Multi-tasking is effortless. Amaze can run a number of memory-intensive programs without as much as hiccup, and does so with style. To put it bluntly, the Amaze throws down the gauntlet.

The device also runs on T-Mobile's 42mbps 4G network, provided you live in one of T-Mobile's 4G regions. I do, and the service is no where near as consistent as their 3G service. The highest download speeds I've reached on SpeedTest is 4mbps download. Theoretically, it can reach much faster speeds & some tests on YouTube have reflected as much as 12. I'm less impressed w/T-Mobile's 4G, but let's not blame that on the Amaze.

As with any device, and impressive as the Amaze is, it comes w/a few disappointments. The ability to shoot in 1080p is a big deal and, as w/the Sensation, the audio recording quality is unacceptable. You can hear a sample by searching YouTube for (HTC Amaze 4G 1080p Camera Test| Booredatwork) or (HTC Amaze 4G 1080p HD Video Sample). HD looks, LD sound. The end result of the video is more important than style & process. So, if you're looking to take advantage of one of this phone's major selling points recording in HD this might not be the best device.

Secondly, although the screen in quarter HD, it's not quite as vivid, bright or impressive as some of it's competition.

iPHONE 4S (Requisite comparison)

The iPhone isn't really in the same league. It's an incredible device, but it's just an app tray squares on a screen. As a result, iPhones are generally far more consistent. They are also less glitch/bug prone than Androids. If you're new to Android, this will take getting used to. The Apple is a bit smoother because it doesn't have to do much more than launch apps. We don't expect a multi-functional SUV to be as smooth as a basic car. iPhones have no widgets, no multiple homescreens, (still) no full flash browser, no customization, no memory card, no removable battery, no keyboard options, no homescreen replacements, smaller screen... You get the idea. iPhones don't do much more than host/open apps. iPhones are well-designed, user-friendly & have wonderful cameras, but they're tract phones. Pretty basic & that has broad appeal. If you think you need Siri, Android already has Vlingo & Iris. If you're a busy career and/or family person, or not too good w/ technology, however, the iPhone is definitely better for you because it takes less time to configure, learn & operate. Not a matter of better/worse. There's something for everyone.

As HTC comes out with a new flagship seemingly every month, however, this phone will not hold its value as well as an iPhone, which is released only once a year. Like Samsung, HTC is known for creating buyers' remorse by coming out with something better only weeks after you pay $100s for their flagship release. Be prepared for that.

ANDROID & de Führer Google

There is *a lot* to configure & customize on a high-end Android. Busy, older folks will either be overwhelmed, or proceed w/o a clue as to what this device can actually do, in spite of having paid for it. Secondly, Androids are *very* Googley. When you sync your Google account, be prepared for folks you've emailed once, 8 years ago, to show up on your phone. If you have a Picasa album, all of your photos will be automatically downloaded to you phone. If you erase them, all of the images will be deleted from Picasa online as well. Even storing phone numbers poses you with questions of storing to phone, SIM card... or Google. The same with calendar entries. Google is very invasive. Android has a lot of options, choices, customization, questions, combinations, permutations... It's like asking for water & the waiter spends 5 minutes asking sparkling or flat?... chilled or room temp?.... w/ or w/o ice?... large or small?... green glass or blue?... with straw or w/o?... It's overkill & obtrusive. Android won't win any prizes for being user-friendly, but it will for being thoroughly customizable.

GALAXY S II

Amaze's only real competition on T-Mobile, at the moment, is Samsung's Galaxy S II. The GS2 has a larger screen which, depending on your tastes & size, may or may not be a plus. The GS2 can be used on AT&T's network, should you hold onto the device long enough to weather the possible merger. The GS2 has the most beautiful screen colors & saturation, but Amaze has slightly higher pixel density. They're both very competitive.

In the end, this is a dual core, HD device. If you provide HD imaging, you should provide the corresponding audio for it. Amaze fails to deliver on the basics decent audio recording for videos. If you're not big on shooting videos w/ the HD shooter, then one is as good as the other. However, as 1080p is one of the primary selling points for this device (& you pay for it), the Amaze takes a significant back seat in audio quality to Galaxy S II. The audio it produces from recorded videos is an embarrassment, frankly. (You can compare video-audio quality for the competition on YouTube as well.) For this reason, I give it 4 stars. This is the only area where Amaze fails to live up to its name. It is, otherwise, an impressive device inside & out.

...there are a couple of issues.

Pros: Blazingly fast, super sharp LCD pixel density...text is notable sharper on this than the Galaxy S2, but the Galaxy has better color saturation so this screen looks a little washed out side by side. Your pick, better color or sharper picture. Sense interface: It just makes sense! It rings louder when it's in your pocket, you can silence the ringer at a meeting instantly by setting it face down, the web browser re-wraps text when you zoom in on web pages (I'm unaware of any other phone browser that does this) which is a HUGE plus for me (on most phones, the text is either too small or doesn't fit on the screen. This phone solves that). The camera really can replace a digital point and shoot (you know the kind, the little pocket ones)...the camera really IS that good.

Cons: Here's the really big one: This phone is cancelled already! They are only selling what is left in stock. There are very few accessories that fit this phone. It's notably heavier than the Galaxy S2. Some users report that the back cover gets squeaky over time. The buttons on the bottom light up which bleeds into the screen at the bottom when you view something dark. The battery life on this is about half that of the Galaxy S2 (when I got it, it would make it about 9-10 hours on a charge. Now that I'm over the wow factor, it lasts morning 'til bed (since I don't fiddle with it and play games on it anymore). Oh, and it's cheaper at T-mobile than here at Amazon!

I love this phone, but know that there will probably only be one more update and then nothing. It is scheduled to get Android 4.0.3 sometime in the next month or 3.

I love this phone. Hands down much better than the IPhone and Galexy SII. The reason I gave an adverage score is because Amazon doesn't send the full package. When you buy yourphone from Wirefly, Newegg or even Tmobile the Htc Amaze come with 16gig SD card. Now... I got my Amaze from Amazon and it was the phoneonlyfor$200.Imagine how mad I was to buy a phone with Zero memory! A brand new 16gig SD card cost about $60. Now my phone has cost me $260. At Tmobile or wirefly the phone cost $220 with the card already.

Don't waste your money on Amazon. Phone is missing the SD Card. So buy from a site that come with the card for only 20 bucks more :)

Howard Miller is no doubt a reputable name in the clock industry, so I purchased this new product of theirs with no hesitation. My 11yo son is in the upper bed of a bunk bed. We purchased this clock because not only was it wall mountable, as he has no shelf at the upper bunk level but mostly because he also really needed his own alarm clock. The buttons for the alarm are on the back of the clock. Thus, one would need to remove it from the wall each time to turn the alarm off or to set it and this really isn't reasonable for anyone, especially a child. Although it's nicely designed, i.e very modern, it really doesn't do it's job being an "alarm clock" and we returned it.

In early Jan 2006 I purchased a WX-268 weather radio. After setting up the unit everything appeared to be fine. . Reception was good. The only feature that I could not test was the alert feature. The next day a weather alert was received but the radio did not alarm. The indicator light on the radio was lit. Further examination revealed that the radio had locked up. It would not respond to any attempt to unlock the unit. Finally, I had to disconnect the power and remove the batteries to completely reset the radio.

I reprogrammed the radio, and waited. Within hours a second warning alert was issued by the National Weather Service. The radio locked up again, requiring removal of all power to reset the radio.

At this point I packaged up the radio and sent it back to Amazon requesting a replacement. Three days later the replacement arrived (Great service from Amazon). Installed batteries, programed it and set it on the shelf waiting for the next alert signal to be sent by the NWS. The weather had been calm and I suspected that the next alert to be sent by the NWS would be their weekly test signal that is sent on Wednesdays. In anticipation of the weekly test signal I reprogrammed the radio to unblock "test" signals.

On Wednesday the test signal was received by the radio and it failed to alarm. It completely locked up requiring removal of power to reset the radio. This was the exact failure experienced by the first radio.

This time I sent the radio back and requested a refund.

The WX-268 has a design flaw. It may be limited to the production run from which my two units were manufactured but that is only conjecture on my part. I am also troubled by the short 90 day manufacturer's warranty.

Based on my first hand experience with this radio and its short warranty I cannot recommend this radio. Two thumbs way down.

Think long and hard before you trust your safety to this radio.

Buy Am/fm Emergency Alert Clock Radio Now

I purchased 2 of the WX-268 radios over the holidays. One for myself and another as a gift for a relative in Michigan.

This radio has nice features: big screen, lots of options, I love that it can charge NiMh batteries for power failures, etc. However, about 2 days after I had it hooked up I received the "radio reception error listen to broadcast" warning message. It has returned several times regardless of where the radio is in the house (I have tried it in 3 places in about 2.5 weeks).

Then, I talked to my relative in Michigan this evening, and they were awoken at 3am this morning with the same "radio reception error" warning.

I called Sima Corp (the manufacturer of these radios) and was advised I need to send it in. I will be returning this radio. But I'm wondering if I really want another replacement. There appear to be serious issues with this radio. It leaves me little confidence that it will actually work as its supposed to. I have yet to receive a test alert as well, though I am unsure if this is due to a radio issue or that my local station doesn't do weekly tests.

Like I said, if the problem is fixed I think this radio has wonderful specs. But as such with my experience with 2 of them, I don't think I can recommend it.

EDIT (April 9, 2006): Bought another one. Haven't recieved the radio reception error, but radio failed to alarm during tornado watch. I recieved the alert via my computer, verified with the NWS that the watch was active for my county. Even after 45 minutes I had not recieved an alert.

I'm returning the radio and have purchased the Midland WR-300. I have several family members completely satisfied with the Midland. Its too bad. I love the rechargable battery capability on the First Alert, the atomic clock, and the AM or FM alert capability not on the Midland. But in an emergency, having a radio that works trumps any cool features. And the fact is the First Alert just doesn't work.

This was my first weather radio purchase. The day I opened the box we had tornado warnings in the area and 15 minutes after plugging it in I received an alert. I like the atomic clock feature and scrolling text. As far as it alerting to inclement weather it does a fine job...BUT

The second night that I had the radio, somewhere around 3 in the morning, the alarm went off. I did not recall the news saying there was supposed to be any bad weather so I glanced at the radio to turn off the audio and the screen said "Radio Reception Error-Listen to Broadcast." I did just that but there was no weather emergency-in fact it was clear as could be outdoors. I turned it off and approximately 45 minutes later it did the exact same thing. At this point I was concerned and I just flipped the switch to mute the alarm.

I moved the radio to different areas of the house thinking that these error messages could have something to do with a possible weak signal. No matter the location I would the get alerts/error messages-sometimes as much as 5 per day.

I think this radio would be great if it were not for the error messages I have been receiving. I have boxed up the radio and it is on its way back to Amazon for a replacement. I will give this radio one more chance. If the new one does the same thing, I will buy another brand.

This radio should be taken off the market. The other reviewers are absolutely right. It constantly alarms (usually in the middle of the night) with "Radio Reception Error" message yet there is nothing in the manual about this. Not a clue as to what the problem might be or how to reset or disable it. You have to unplug the device and remove the batteries to reset it and it comes back again within hours. The customer service was no help. All they said was that I would have to send the radio in to them to have it repaired. A brand new radio just out of the box? I don't think so. It is being returned to Amazon for a refund. Too bad, if I could have just turned that one alarm off or disabled it everything else about this radio worked great.

This was my first weather radio purchase. Having recently moved to the Florida coast I figured it would be a good investment for storm preparedness. When selecting a product I relied on the First Alert name.

Like several of the other reviewers we repeatedly seem to get the "Radio Reception Error-Listen to Broadcast" message. It occurs frequently -day or night -with no apparent trigger or cause. The standard alarm feature is difficult to set.

I made the mistake of throwing out all of the original packaging and paperwork or I would have returned this product for a refund. This radio is NOT user friendly. Very disappointing performance from First Alert, a company that usually offers a good product.

I own a portable stereo that has a 30 pin connector. I have this unit so I can listen to music and charge my device at the same time.

However after buying a new iPhone 5 I had to purchase this adapter in the hope that it would do the same......no it doesn't.

Does this allow my phone to play music: yes

Does it charge the unit at the same time: no

As a matter of fact my phone says it is incompatible with this device and quits playing through the speaker, occasionally. This adapter also makes the unit sit too high off the device and I am just waiting for it to topple over.

There are no new stereo devices on the market to utilize the new connector, and because the adapter does not allow the unit to be charged while plugged in, I am wondering if one ever will be made.

I gave 3 stars because it does allow my phone to play through the system, otherwise I would give 1 star as it is a waste of money as I can do the same thing with an AUX cable connection that I have that I paid $3.00 for two years ago.......

Part of the reason for this little piece of plastic's high price is circuitry inside that supposedly makes older devices compatible with the new iPhone and iPad's lightning connector. The new connector has only 8 pins where the "dock" connector used for the last decade or so has 30. This means a lot of accessories that used to work with your old phone won't work with the new one.

I have three devices I plugged my iPhone into on a regular basis: a clock radio, a small speaker from Klipsch, and my car. When I bought my iPhone 5 the speaker and clock radio were no longer compatible as the plug simply didn't fit. My car, while it used a USB connector, was not able to talk with the iPhone after the changeover due to how the lightning plug works.

So I thought purchasing this $30 gem would solve all of my problems. Unfortunately it only solved 2 of them. The clock radio and speaker work fine, albeit a little funny looking with the adapter hanging out of the bottom of the phone. The car, however, does not. Apparently whatever is in this adapter to make it compatible with simple devices works, but more complex devices that take more control of the iPhone's media player don't have what they need to operate as before.

My advice is to do a little research before spending your hard earned money on this expensive adapter. While it may give you the flexibility of using all of your old charging cables again, it doesn't seem to provide full compatibility to all of the millions of devices manufactured over the last decade to interface with iPod dock connectors.

I went to the Apple store and bought one of these because I was unsure if this was a genuine Apple one or not and I had to go to Apple anyway for other things. I thought it would be okay because my case is super tiny. I was wrong; it is no good. I have to take my case off to charge and that is a hassle for me, plain and simple. Sure it is only a minor inconvenience but it is one that I think I should not have to deal with. When they make one that works with a case, I will be happy to buy a few of them since I have a ton of the old chargers and I need to keep them to charge my iPad so it is convenient to be able to use one charger for both devices. It is unfortunate that they made it this way.

I actually bought this one to use with my car charger since Apple apparently does not make car chargers at all. The charger I have is useless without this adapter but I will return it and get a new car charger that goes with a USB and then just use the USB to lightning cable. This thing is not worth the money and after a couple of times, it becomes really annoying. Especially in the car. I am pretty disappointed in Apple for making it like this.

UPDATE: I spoke with someone at Apple customer service and she said they just came out with a newer one that has a longer pin and I can bring mine in to exchange it for that one. I will do that and then post a review on the new one. If it still is no good, they promised I would get a full refund. Will update again soon as I have the new one.

UPDATE 2: So I went and exchanged this one to the new product and it is ever-so-slightly-slightly longer but not just barely and not noticeably (and not enough). It fits for me only if I jam it in since I have a very thin, flexible case but, it in effect kind of wears away at my case so continuous use would result in a tear. If you have a case that is harder or slightly bigger than mine, it likely will not work for you. I am planning to take this one back for a refund or get just the regular USB to lightening which I know works.

What changed?

The original 30 pin dock supplied a digital signal, analog audio, video, and more; the new Lightning port is digital only. Analog audio is still available via the headphone jack.

What do you need?

1. If your iPhone interfaces with your stereo through a USB connection, then you can use any adapter available on Amazon, even the cheap ones.

2. If your current dock connects to the radio via a 3.5mm stereo plug, RCA connection, or a cassette adapter, then you will have to use this adapter.

3. If the dock interfaces directly with the audio device, then it could be either digital or analog. You will have to research this yourself. Find out what your device uses and get the appropriate adapter (check the owners manual, contact the manufacturer, do your homework and don't be lazy).

Why would Apple do this?

More and more equipment is going full digital. The components and software used by the digital to analog converter can greatly affect the sound quality. This conversion would be handled far better by radio manufacturers than by Apple. Not to mention that we finally get to ditch the cumbersome, ugly, limited, and outdated 30 pin dock. Technology moves forward...

The DVD player came in with lots of features, backup camera capabilities, touch screen navigation through the entire menu, GPS navigation using IGO software (not latest revision), Bluetooth capability, AVI and DVD player, SD micro slot and many other features. The screen is awesome. There is only one bad thing about this DVD player, the clock is never correct. I had the receiver for 3 months and the clock is always messed up. Here is the scoop, if you set the clock from the main menu and then start the GPS, the GPS clock will over ride the clock setting, the only problem with this is that the GPS clock is set for China. No matter what you do, the clock will revert to China time. The installer told me the same thing about this bad feature in the radio. Other than that, the receiver is excellent. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone who wants a DVD with GPS 6.2" (not a flip up Screen) and DVD player.

I have tried the similar Pyle and Lanzar units and wanted to try this one. I liked this one with fixed CD slot instead of motorized flip down door, and having an actual volume knob instead of up/down buttons.

The manual was fair, wiring diagram poor like the other 2. It installed ok and ran as normal. I also wired up a backup camera which worked fine. The GPS is a little slow to load and startup, but seems to work ok after that. The menu/mode buttons are a little weird and slow, but you can eventually get to everything. I also tried pairing with iPod for streaming music via Bluetooth and that worked.

My biggest complaint is with the time and support. I could not get the hour to stick. It would randomly change. I assume the time zone was resetting. No matter what I tried I could not get it to stay. I tried contacting the company several times with no response.

So if you don't mind that, it is a good deal for the price. For me, that really bugs me and I hate having to reset it all the time.

the product was miss descriped and the setting menu has a password and no song selection for cd play back is pretty crappy
