Unlocked Android 2.2 Phone A5000 Touch Screen WIFI GPS Dual Sim Quadband JAVA

Unlocked Android 2.2 Phone A5000 Touch Screen WIFI GPS Dual Sim Quadband JAVAI am very pissed as I liked what I saw on the phone specs but I seemed to have purchased the resistive screen instead of the capacitive which I had desired. As soon as I ordered it I realized my folley and tried to cancel my order inorder to choose the more expensive version but this option was not available to me; the status read "Preparing package"..... I mean come on!!!! I thought "man hey wow this is going to be shipped the same hour or maybe even the same day" BUT IT HAS BEEN FOUR DAYS GOING ON FIVE AND THE STATUS IS STILL "NOT YET SHIPPED".

I haven't even received the package and I am dissatisfied with the service. It feels like I fell into a Chinese Trap and that I really ordered from Hong kong or something. If I wanted to be unsure of my package and felt I has $200 USD to burn I would have simply bought it directly from China or Singapore or wherever the heck has these phones in abundance.... But No I chose Amazon because i felt safe that I would receive my package in a timely basis and in good shape.

Anyway I'll try to write a review when the phone finally arrives in like a month or so!!!

////-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------////

Update: 2011-10-17

////-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------////

I received the phone in about a month's time after my order. I am convinced that it was shipped from outside the US but that's O.K. I'm dealing with it. Now unto my review of the phone:

Pros:

-->You can't go wrong as it has Android 2.2. You get all the features of any other Android phone. This is my first Android phone and I like the O.S. I have an IOS device so in comparrison of O.S. with the IPhone being a 10, a vanilla Android 2.2 phone gets a 6. This is pretty good when compared to above excellence!

-->The TV feature works well and the interface is easy to use

-->The phone is unlocked and the dual SIM features work seemlessly in synergy.

-->Wifi signal is not as strong as my other wireless devices but works well.

-->The phone is relatively light and has as sturdy build.

Cons:

-->The phone's hardware seems to barely meet the O.S. requirements as the phone is frustratingly slow if any additional software is installed. This is perhaps the phone's Achilles Heel as all other cons could have been overlooked.

-->The camera is 2MP and NOT the advertised 3MP.

-->The radio needs a headset to work. The designers of the phone could have used the phone's TV antenna alike other Chinese phones (What a shame!).

-->I was hoping the generic Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons would have had backlights which they don't. I have to guess as to where to press when in dark places.

-->The speaker volume is a bit too low for both loudspeaker and built-in. I use a headset so I got aroung that problem.

-->I didn't get the GPS to work. Maybe I don't know enough about how GPS works, or maybe it's because I'm in Trinidad!

Summary:

Overall the phone is a good buy for the price.

I would advise putting out a little extra to get the "Capacitive screen as this could possible improve user experience and perhaps the camera would really be 3MP.

Dual sim works fine, when you are using sim1 you can not use the sim2. Wifi, bluetooth, GPS are good. All android functions works fine. BUT (always there is a BUT) the touch screen some times doesn't work. You must restart the phone, or lock out it and then try again. It happens one or two times per day (a lot). I can survive with this, but once I can't answer the call...

Arrived broken, which is OK because it went straight to the trash anyway . Cheap cheesy POS. The disco effect lighting was horrible also.

This clock looked really cool, and worked pretty good...for about 5 days. Then the numbers faded...then the LED lights started flickering, and then it died. It wasn't the batteries, I replaced those and no dice.

Also, you can only see the display from certain angles, so if you don't plan o nhaving it in your line of sight, I wouldn't recommend it

Clock arrived right on schedule and has only one flaw in our opinion, it is hard to read. The colors are great but you need to be looking directly at the clock

iLive IT202B 2.1 Channel Stereo Sound Bar with FM Radio(Black)

iLive IT202B 2.1 Channel Stereo Sound Bar with FM Radio(Black)
  • 31 - Inch horizontal sound bar, Connect to a TV or your favorite audio/video devices, Includes RCA stereo audio cable, wall-mount hardware and instructions, Remote control: requires a CR2025 battery (pre-installed), Power adapter included

I started out with 5-speaker and sub-woofer system--after I installed in a basement den--wires through ceiling, wires climbing up walls, etc., I didn't like its performance--just too much oomph for the space--returned item and went for this sound bar. Had confidence in product already because have had another sound bar (same brand) for several years on main TV--both work great.

Easy hook-up, good performance, and a great alternative to stringing speaker wires all over or spending mucho money for wireless systems. If you just want reasonable sound for movies (forget the speakers on ALL HD TVs!) and CDs, this is the way to go for the money. If you're an audio/videophile with a theater room like Tony Soprano's, you won't be satisfied anyway until you spend upwards of 3 or 4 K.

LISTEN THIS PRODUCT IS GETTING SOMEWHAT OF A BAD WRAP. I PURCHASED THIS SOUNDBAR TO GO WITH A NEW COBY HDTV. THE AUDIO OF THE COBY TV WAS TERRIBLE AND THIS SOUNDBAR WAS THE ANSWER. IF YOU ARE OF AVERAGE TO LITTLE KNOWLEDGE (AS I AM ) OF ELECTRONICS AND THIS IS YOUR FIRST PURCHASE OF A SOUNDBAR, YOU WILL BE SATISFIED. AT A SMALL COST THIS PRODUCT SAVED ME FROM HAVING TO RETURN THE COBY HDTV THAT I HAD PURCHASED, THE SOUND WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE TINNY, TOTALY BASSLESS SOUND I WOULD OF BEEN LEFT WITH! ALSO THE BASS IS PLENTY POWERFULL FOR A ROOM THAT MAY NOT BE SO LARGE!

I don't know where to begin since there are so many problems with this product. But let's start with the subwoofer. One of the reasons I bought this model is because I would not have to buy an external subwoofer since it has one built-in. The box states that the subwoofer has deep bass providing a full range of sound. This could not be further from the truth. You can not even tell that there is any bass in the sound and this product has preset EQ so you can't adjust the bass. Adjusting the bass on the TV also did not help. Then the cord provided with the soundbar will not work for most modern TVs. Newer TVs only have a headphone jack or an optical digital audio output to connect to, and the soundbar comes with a cord that has L and R RCA plugs on both ends. This is fine for connecting another external device that has L and R RCA audio outputs, but todays TVs don't come with them. So I tried connecting the soundbar to my TV using an optical digital audio cord and once again there was a problem. The cord fit easily into the output on my TV. But after I removed the dust cover for the input on the soundbar and tried to insert the optical digital audio cord into the soundbar's input it would not go in. The dust cover that goes over this input sticks into an object embedded inside the input that is not removeable. This object sticks out so far that it prevents the Cable from being inserted. I tried calling the company's customer support number and got a foreign speaking person sitting in a call room in some third world country. After explaining the problem with the optical digital audio input on the soundbar he spent several minutes shuffling through his manual of answers and then declared that I would have to use the soundbar as is. I said, "no thank you!" and told him I was returning the product and that they had lost a sale. Needless to say the item is going back to the store first thing this morning and I will never buy anything made by this company again.

This is a good addition to our flat screen. The sound is pretty good and the size is perfect. The only negative is the wireless volume. The steps between each volume movement are too large as the sounds seems to jump.

WoW! I did not expect this at all. I ordered this system based on reviews and I'm glad the reviews were right. The system is very simple to install and it works great. I installed this system on my 2001 kawasaki vulcan 1500 myself. At 80 MPH I hear my mp3 music load and clear. The only thing I'm not happy about is the Fm radio reception, it's not that great. If you're looking to buy a system that is waterproof, sounds great( with your MP3) and you dont want to spend a load of money dont look any further. For the price I found it to be Great.

this is the third radio i've purchased. third not becaused of any fault in the item, but because of myself. these things won't tolerate too much vibration, and the mounts that i've been making to mount these on my motorcycle haven't been able to absorb it, so they have been coming apart inside.i think i've finaly came upon a design that works.

so if you want an excellent stereo for a motorcycle or anything like that, then this is a good one. i just wish the manufacturer could supply mounts for the radio.they supply mounts for the speakers, but not the radio.so be prepared to create something for that.

I read all the reviews on this product, most of the folks were not happy with the FM reception. I agree, but I did not purchase this to listen to FM. I use this product with my GARMIN. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about with the radio because this product does not have it. Perhaps it is a mistake with the Amazon description which states:

"Digital FM radio with station presets" and "Alarm clock function-wake to iPod®, radio or buzzer"

However the product itself says "ipod speaker with alarm clock" and has no FM radio functions at all. When you press the alarm it cycles through ipod and buzzer.

I only gave this two stars because the other functions work, although it is rather cheaply made, you get what you pay for.

I had one of these that broke (buttons on the top froze up) after about 2 months of use. Memorex refused to do anything about it because I had no receipt. Their customer service stinks! Item was great while it worked, but if it packs up don't look to Memorex to help you sort it out.

This little item is a best kept secret for those that have Philips GoGear MP3 players with 30 pin docking connection. When you have the GoGear you're limited on speaker systems you can use, this one works with our HDD6330 MP3 player, what's more is that it has an Aux jack in back so you can also use it with your XM Radio too! In my opinion it's a super buy for a bedside clock radio that you can use with MP3 and XM!

Tenergy Centura AAA Low Self-Discharge LSD NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 4xAAA

Tenergy Centura AAA Low Self-Discharge LSD NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 4xAAA

  • Can be rapidly charged with any quick charger, smart chargers, plug in charger or universal chargers
  • Designed for hand held games, 2-way radios, PDAs, and other portable high drain digital electronics

I don't have much confidence in Tenergy products in general. But the Tenergy Centura AAA Low Self-Discharge (LSD) NiMH Rechargeable Batteries are presently available at ~50% the cost of Sanyo Eneloop AAA. So I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Here are my test results, using my old La Crosse BC-900 Battery Charger:

Right out of the package, the average remaining charge measured was only 237mAh, or 30% of the rated capacity of '800mAh'.

After the first recharge, the average capacity jumped up to 898mAh!

After another two discharge/recharge cycles, the average peaked at 900mAh. The spread is quite small, with minimum=880mAh and maximum=922mAh.

In comparison, Sanyo eneloop AAA typically arrives with ~75% of rated capacity, and the average capacity after 2 cycles is 830-840mAh. So the Tenergy Centura, while marketed as an eneloop clone, actually delivered ~7% higher capacity than eneloop.

The measured capacity of Tenergy Centura is higher than all other LSD AAA cells I have tested except for PowerEx Imedion AAA. The Imedion AAA is rated for '950mAh', and delivers 975mAh average capacity under the same test conditions. But of course the price for Imedion is much higher.

I still have one concern: the performance charts provided by Tenergy claim that the capacity of Centura AAA is within 1% variation from that of eneloop, but why did I measure ~7% higher capacity instead? It is possible that Centura cells have actually improved in capacity, or maybe they are made by two different suppliers, one with higher capacity than the other. In any case, the present low price of Centura makes it an irresistible deal. You got to start picking while the picking is good.

[Aside]

Make sure you shop around for the best unit-price. As of this writing, the Tenergy Centura 12xAAA package is actually more expensive than three 4-pack, after you factor in shipping cost.

[Update on Oct 9, 2011]

Long term self-discharge data: After 92 days in storage, a pair of Tenergy Centura AAA cells retained 83.3% of the original charge. This proves that they are indeed LSD type, although the charge retention rate is slightly worse than advertised ("85% after 12 months").

[Update on Dec 5, 2011]

Tested a second pair of Centura AAA cells after 5 months. The average remaining charge is 739mAh, or 81.2% of original measured capacity of 910mAh. Another way of look at it: those cells have retained 92% of rated capacity of 800mAh. This is probably where the marketing claim of "85% after 12 months" came from.

Unlike the Tenergy Centura AA, those AAA cells did not suffer any capaity loss after storage. So I can fully reommend them without reservations.

Buy Tenergy Centura AAA Low Self-Discharge LSD NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 4xAAA Now

In spite of Centura's advertised similarity to Eneloop, Centura has a significantly higher self-discharge rate. I'd rate these batteries at about 4.3 stars (Price...5 stars, Capacity...5, Self discharge rate...3.) If they didn't advertise these batteries as retaining 90% capacity at 6 months and 85% at 1 year, I'd have given them 5 stars since they are a good value in an LSD. However, since they have a higher discharge rate than advertised (I'd say no better than average for a LSD), can't do it.

I've pretty much replaced all alkaline batteries with NiMH LSD. Most devices use AAs...cameras, flashlights, GPS, wireless devices etc. and they're loaded with the older Rayovac Hybrids and Eneloops. Have a couple which use AAA and they have Hybrids. When I saw the $5 price of 4 Tenergy Centura AAAs and the advertised comparison to Eneloop (generally considered the best LSD available), I couldn't resist a purchase to test and keep them as a backup.

As were previous reviewers, I also was impressed with initial capacity which was well above the 800 mAh rating. After a couple of discharge/recharge cycles on a LaCrosse BC-9009 at a 100 mA discharge rate, they yielded a capacity of 916, 880, 879, and 870 mAh. Pretty impressive for AAA rechargeables.

I initially intended to test capacity at 6 months and 1 year to determine discharge rate. However, after reading NLee's test at 92 days, decided to test a couple myself which now are at 110 days and have been stored in the basement at 60 to 65 degrees. The results: 916 mAh now down to 727 mAh...79% of initial capacity. 880 mAh down to 731...83% of initial capacity. Average the two and you have 81%...in line with NLee's results and already below the advertised 85% at 1 year. However, there is another way to look at this. These batteries are rated at 800 mAh so if you consider the percent of rated capacity, they now average 91% of it at a bit under 4 months. Although the discharge rate will likely decrease with time, given the past rate of discharge, it's pretty doubtful they'll lose no more than 1% over the next 2 months or maintain 85 percent at a year. To be fair, I'll test one battery at 6 months and the last at 1 year. If there's still 680 mAh (85% of 800 mAh) remaining at 1 year, I'll update this review and change the rating to a 5.

Would I recommend these batteries? Absolutely! They are a great value in a LSD! Get some of the major brand 800 mAh LSDs and you will pay twice the price, have less capacity, and see little change in discharge rate. However, if you want a LSD battery with that advertised 85% capacity at one year, it would seem you'll have to spend the extra money and get Eneloop.

_______________________________________________________________________________

(Update 1/2/12) Final testing. At six months (184 days) tested both remaining batteries for self-discharge rate. The results...879 mAh battery now 726...82% of initial and 91% of rated 800mAh. 870 mAh now 710...82% of initial and 89% of rated..

Ran all four batteries through 4 charge/discharge cycles to determine capacity loss under use. Including the initial preparation for testing, this represents a total of 7 cycles. Initial capacity/ Current/ percentage drop for the 4 batteries. 916/851/7%, 880/876/under1%, 879/866/1.5%, 870/836/4%.

Conclusion:It would appear that after about 3-4 months, discharge rate falls to about 1% per month...so although not quite up to Eneloop, its close to that advertised for the 800 mAh RATED capacity. Two of the batteries (880 & 879) held capacities reasonably well under use but the 870 showed a significant drop and the 916 was unacceptable. Although noteworthy that all capacities are still above rated capacity, I have little confidence that the 916 will stand up under long-term us. I would say I have two 5 star batteries, a 4 star...and a 3 star. My initial 4 star rating still holds.

Added note: Early purchasers, myself included, report near 900 mAh initial capacity while a more recent purchaser reports it near 800. This implies that Centura may have changed manufacturers or that they are branding products from two different manufacturers. My testing confirms significant variability in quality within a single lot. Long term durability of Centura remains an unknown. For those concerned about it, I would recommend Eneloop due to their well-established high quality in all aspects...especially considering the recent 40% jump in Amazon's Centura price.

These batteries seem to be a fine replacement for the original Panasonic batteries that came with our Panasonic cordless phone set. After a month or so of use they are working fine, and much less expensive than anything else.

Want Tenergy Centura AAA Low Self-Discharge LSD NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 4xAAA Discount?

Panasonic house phone set had 2 of 4 phones that never kept the charge. These batteries were the correct type. Read the reviews and tried them out. Very happy with them. Needed to be fully charged upon arrival, but put them in the phones and they charged up quickly. Great price too. With Prime delivery they got here in a snap.

With all the pre-charged batteries from different manufacturers out there now, there is no need for 1-time use alkaline batteries anymore.

Using my Lacrosee BC-700 battery charge/test function, the 4 "AAA" batteries performed as follows:

Battery 1 = 784 mAh

Battery 2 = 742 mAh

Battery 3 = 770 mAh

Battery 4 = 793 mAh

(See picture on customers' submitted images)

Straight from the box, the batteries show remaining voltages are between 1.30 to 1.31 volts (see pic above). All packs a little less juice compared to its rated capacity of 800 mAh. Compared to the more popular brands like Eneloops and Duracell, they performed not as good but not bad at all.

At the time of the review, they were available around 5 bucks which is the cheapest pre-charged batteries I can find.

I have been using pre-charged batteries for everything now, from toys, digital cameras, clocks, to remote controls.

HP DreamScreen 100 10.2-Inch Wireless Connected Screen

HP DreamScreen 100 10.2-Inch Wireless Connected Screen
  • Enjoy music, photos and videos with easy to use buttons & screens
  • Control your digital entertainment in the palm of your hand with a simple, intuitive remote.
  • Enjoy music, photos and videos easily with the HP MediaSmart experience.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi connects seamlessly to your existing wireless home network, so you can access content on your home PCs and through the Internet.
  • The HP DreamScreen is a gateway to the Internet using your wireless network to access weather info, Snapfish and your favorite web destinations

The HP DreamScreen is at its heart, a digital photo frame that's begging to be much more.

As with so many of 2009's consumer electronics, the DreamScreen is yet another example of a company trying to bolt on extended connectivity to popular sites. This time around, we have access to Facebook, Pandora, and Snapfish via built-in wired and wireless networking.

Setting up the DreamScreen is fairly painless. It quickly found and connected to my WPA2 network without any problems, and the built-in applications all ran as I had expected them to, albeit, very slowly. I thought that the slowness may be due to the product being so new, and immediately checked for a firmware update. Sure enough, there was one. However, it didn't seem to improve the response time.

The DreamScreen is quite large. Probably larger than what I'd want on my desk, and a bit too large for a normal end table. And while the back has slots to accept every type of flash media under the sun, it also makes the unit itself quite deep, making wall mounting an unattractive option.

As I had said previously, the included applications all work pretty much as I had expected them to. Facebook is a passive stream of status updates or photos. Snapfish can be pointed to someone's account, and Pandora seems to do the right thing if you already have a Pandora account with stations set up. The weather application updates quickly and often, and is visually appealing. The inherent problem with all of these, is that they aren't integrated or well executed.

So, mixing photos between any of the applications is just not possible without navigating between the different applications. On one hand, I can understand that the DreamScreen doesn't claim to do it, but if you're going to bundle multiple photo options, being able to see them all in a rotation seems like a natural function to me. And while Pandora works, the controls are not well thought out (e.g. making the music stop) and as you'd probably expect from a device like this, the audio quality is not very good.

Ultimately, you end up with a product that you'd normally "set and forget", but that really needs a lot of interaction to make any of the features work. I could see having this mounted somewhere that I could enjoy glancing at the pictures, and notice every once in a while that it's telling me what the weather's like, or that one of my friends has posted new pictures on Facebook. But in execution, I'd need to go find the remote, and navigate to each function. If I'm going to take the time to do that, why wouldn't I just grab my computer? (Or if I didn't have one, why wouldn't I spend about as much money on a netbook?)

The image quality is decent, but not nearly as good as what you'd see on the similarly sized Sony DPF-V900 9-Inch Digital Photo Frame (and a popular choice, now that I see it on another review). Again, it does what HP says it does, but it doesn't do it as well as it could, and seems almost an afterthought.

The DreamScreen really begs the question: "What need does this fulfill?"

If you're looking for a photo frame, you have better options from Sony, Kodak, and others.

If you're looking for an easy link to Facebook, the interface and one-way nature of the device puts a wet towel on that.

If you're looking for a portable media center, the audio quality is a serious barrier.

If you're looking for a "keep Grandma updated with something easy to use" device, you're hitting limitations with the interface (and wireless availability).

I just can't think of a single reason to buy this over another product, other than to say "Hey, check out this frame. Look at everything it can do."

Review of the HP Dreamscreen 100 (10" wide screen)

by Vance Jochim

Nov. 30, 2009

I was in Best Buy looking for a picture frame and encountered the HP Dreamscreen 100 the plus for me was that it played Pandora, and looked very nice. It was the Saturday after Black Friday and they must have had some left from the Black Friday sale and the price was $149, not the retail $249. I had to get the clerk find one under a counter. (You can also get a more costly Dreamscreen 300, which apparently is no different from the model 100 except the screen is 13" (diagonal), rather than 10". That reminds me of my first TV which had a 13" screen.

I have been using a five year old HP TC1100 tablet for a Pandora player, but it has horrendous delays when turning on, and this Dreamscreen is much, much faster...hardly any bootup time. Amazingly, the TC1100 has become a cult machine and many people are upgrading the internals with ram etc. because they like the 10" and form factor. Since the tablet is touchscreen, and also has a 10" screen, I was used to the form factor. You can get a used TC1100 on ebay for under $500 if you want one, or a netbook to do more expanded computer functions. But, this HP Dreamscreen seems to do much of what I was using the TC1100 for WITHOUT the loading delays of the tablet, and seems to have some of the upper scale industrial design familiar to TC1100 users.

The packaging was upper scale, and very presentable in the provided heavy duty black box for a gift. It reminds me of the "packaging experience" that Apple would do.

Other reviews have talked about the tiny remote, which is limited, and the delay after clicking is frustrating. Here are some comments:

The limited instructions focus on setting up a wifi connection, but I had a hard cable connection, and had to experiment with the menus, which did provide a method to set it up.

Video Tutorials: You can reach them through the main "Video" icon, or on the provided CD-Rom. There are seven of them plus a Dreamscreen tutorial.

Pandora: I am listening to my Pandora channel of Christmas music right now on the Dreamscreen. As others have mentioned, you have to setup Pandora on a full computer, creating music channels, but they you can access it with the Dreamscreen. My only Pandora gripe is that the remote or onscreen soft buttons don't have the normal Pandora PAUSE function, thus you can mute sound, but not halt playing, which Pandora doesn't like because they pay fees to artists to play the music, and only want it running when you are actually listening. Normal Pandora users will pause the playing if they leave so as not to use up minutes for "free" accounts, but there is no such option here. The Pandora feature also shows the album cover, but not details about artists and other info available on the regular computer client. The only way to halt (not mute) Pandora is to go to the main menu and choose another function which shuts off Pandora. It is almost like they have only three window or memory partitions one for the current application function, one for graphics like pictures (i.e. screensaver or slideshow), and one for the main menu. But if you want to switch applications, it shuts off the current one.

Reviewers have complained about entering data. The Dreamscreen doesn't have a keyboard (but there is a USB port I wonder if a USB keyboard would work?), so they use an onscreen keyboard and you click each key by using the remote to move the cursor. That is very similar to the onscreen keyboard on the TC1100 tablet, so it was not new to me. Hp should provide ability to use a USB or wireless keyboard, if it doesn't exist now.

I too find the lack of multiple windows or operations to be a weakness. You can run your photos as a screensaver or by clicking the photos icon AND Pandora still plays. While listening to Pandora, I held down the back button and got the main menu of feature icons. Once I clicked on Clock, the Pandora stream quit. That is obnoxious, and needs to be fixed. You should be able to keep one audio stream going while working with any of the other non-audio features.

When I setup the Dreamscreen, I found the software update button, and it replaced the Sept., 2009 software with a downloaded new version, so some problems reported in early reviews might have been fixed.

Some people complained about the speakers I find them better than any laptop speaker (and definitely better than the HP tablet), and there is a headphone port to use for headphones or external speakers.

There is an alarm feature, and it can turn on and off at specific times you mention. I have not used it yet to see if it starts playing Pandora, but I imagine it would.

Some people complained about the thickness it is about 1.5" thick, with two holes in the back for hanging on nails, and the thick part is in the center of the unit, now out to the edges, so i think it is not a problem.

The unit stands up by screwing in a 4" metal rod in the back that acts as a leg to keep the unit upright. Thus it is easy to remove and carry the unit if you wanted so if you have wifi and electricity in the back yard or boat dock, you could easily move this out there.

Facebook as soon as you click the Facebook icon, the audio from Pandora stops. After using the onscreen keyboard and cursor to enter your login info, you get a menu bar for "Status Updates, Photos & Events". The Status update is default and shows updates from friends. For the first time, it only showed the most recent four status updates. Photos it only showed Photos of friends, but maybe because I have never uploaded any photos. Events: It got a message no events found probably because I have not created any on the account. I don't use it much. It doesn't provide any ability, even with the graphic keyboard to enter or modify Facebook data, so probably enabling the password isn't bad.

Radio The feature of "HP Radio" says you can connect to radio stations around the world. The station picker is very limited. You can only select stations by "location" country, or "genre":. For "location", you can only pick a country (not city or zip) from a drop down list, so I chose USA. Then if you pick to select by station name, you get a horrendous, alpha list of stations and you can't just enter the call letters. You have to scroll through sublists 50 at a time. Another reviewer said you couldn't go to the next group of 50 selections until you clicked DOWN on the last entry of the current group. There is no "end of group" jump button. Additionally, the STUPID sort algorithm sorts based upon the first character, then the second. Thus for numeric stations, you get all the 120 stations mixed in with the 1200 stations. This is NOT an intuitive feature and needs vast improvement. You would have to SLOWLY scroll through many groups of 50 to reach station XYZ. There are a lot of generic internet stations like "181.fm Christmas Swing" and you can click on stations to "add" them to your favorites. So, it isn't too hard to find generic stations, but if I want to hear the Orlando talk radio station WDBO 580am with Neal Boortz, it would be a REAL pain to find it. Nothing tells you what the limit of "favorites" is, nor does it show a count of how many you add to favorites. It contains the AOL stations for jazz, and "ATC" airport tower audio channel, etc. I finally stopped at the end of the numeric stations and "A's" which were the first 400 I scrolled through. There really needs to be a full search function for this, or a way to set favorites via the computer and internet. I look forward to finding a forum where someone figures out how to set the radio stations much faster. Once you have selected some "favorite" radio stations, that is the list you get when you click the main "HP Radio" graphic on the main menu.

USB keyboard I moved a USB keyboard from my HP TC1100 tablet to the Dreamscreen and plugged it in while the Dreamscreen was on. No indicator or message came up. I then entered Facebook to setup my account, which normally would pull up the onscreen cursor controlled graphic keyboard. I tried the USB keyboard both in the email login field, and also after clicking that field to see the onscreen keyboard, but the USB keyboard did not work in either instance, and did not generate any types of errors. I turned the unit off, then back on, and repeated the above tests, and the USB keyboard still did not work. So, HP seems to have turned of any keyboard capability, and I think they should provide it to use with USB keyboards and mice like a wireless unit.

Real estate one advantage of this unit is it does NOT take up much space on a desk, or you can hang it on a wall. Imagine having a wireless keyboard and mouse option.

Memory The model 100 comes with 2gb standard (not upgradeable) memory, but only 1.5gb is accessible to the user. Thus I would get a USB or other memory stick like CompactFlash to provide more storage for pictures or videos. I don't know if the unit can access a USB external hard drive. Additionally, if you connect the unit to a PC with supplied software over a HOME NETWORK, you can play pictures or sound (not video) by streaming them from the PC over the network to the DreamScreen. Thus if you had wifi, you could stream music from your PC to the Dreamscreen anywhere that the wifi would reach.

Videos: THERE IS NO PAUSE FOR VIDEOS, JUST LIKE NO PAUSE FOR PANDORA. That is stupid. If you press back, it starts the video at the beginning. That is not in the simple documentation. I got a phone call and could not pause the video tutorials I could only press mute and then restart the video after the call was over. If I press the left button, it jumps back some frames, but there is no smooth back or fast forward. UPDATE: The video tutorial said if you press the "OK" button, it will pause. If you press the OK button again, the video will continue. They need to relabel the "OK" button to "OK / Pause"

Picture files only supports JPEG, BMP and PNG.

Email there is no internet browser or email function, but I would think that could easily be added in the future. Remember the old WebTV application, which was similar to the 40 character wide early AOL screens, and it worked with a phone modem and TV this could supply the same thing to seniors who only want the basic stuff and don't want too complex a gadget. (Note: While viewing the video tutorials, the speaker said that for most applications, you cannot enter data (only login info), thus internal circuitry might not exist to use an external keyboard or to enter data for email, etc. (at least in this model).

Bluetooth there is no Bluetooth feature.

The remote unit is pretty flimsy. I would find out how to get a spare, or how to use a generic remote as a backup (although you can click onscreen soft buttons like the remote as a backup). It uses one of those thin batteries about the size of a nickel. I would get a spare battery before you need it. And, provide an optional plastic BRIGHT ORANGE "skin" to hold the remote so you can find it on a desk. The default black finish makes it hard to find!!

Power on the button is on the remote, and if you powered off, it returns to the prior screen when powered backup. If you lost the remote, there is a power on lighted button on the back.

USB there is both a normal and mini USB port on the back, as well as a standard 10/100 LAN hard cable port.

Provided CD-Rom The CD is NOT for software to be loaded to the Dreamscreen, but is loaded to your desktop or other PC to enable streaming files to the Dreamscreen over a provided USB cable. It also contains video tutorials and a UQuick start guide and User guide for the Dreamscreen. When I ran the "Install PC Software" on my Sony laptop, it read the CD, then returned to the menu. I tried launching it again, and it generated a "HP Dreamscreen PC Updater" error message, and sent an error report to Microsoft. There are seven WMV file format video tutorials on the CD. I always copy such configuration CD's to the hard drive and then run them from there.

Password controls: When entering your login id and password, you have to decide if you allow the system to always enter your login with password each time you enter a service like Facebook, or not. Thus because it is a pain to use the cursor to enter the password, and you leave the login enabled as automatic, anyone could login to your Facebook account using the Dreamscreen. So you need to know what the Dreamscreen can do in your facebook account if you leave it with automatic login. Note: I found you can use the onscreen soft keys to also enter the password, if you don't have the remote.

Screen resolution is 800 x 600 (not the highest, but ok on this 10" screen), and the format is widescreen or 16 x 9 ratio format. The provided sample pictures have all been croped to the 16 x 9 format so they fill the screen. If your pictures are regular 4x6 or 3x5, or have been cropped to be taller than wide, they will not fill the screen. Thus you either see them as they exist, or maybe create a group of picture files cropped to fit the 16x9 format and use all the screen.

From the HP online FAQ page: When playing a slide show within Facebook's photos, some photo edges are cut off because the photo does not fit on the screen; and there are no options to force photos to fit the screen.

The default setting for photo display on the HP DreamScreen is Fit to screen . If you wish the photo to display without cropping off, set the photo display to Original in the Photo Options Dialog box. In some cases the photo is cropped off when photo display mode is set to "Fit to screen", such as displaying 4:3 photo in horizontal mode.

Battery backup some people have pointed out that the Dreamscreen does not have a backup battery, but it did retain my clock settings when I unplugged it overnite. There are no details on how that is done, or how long it would last. Or, maybe the settings are stored on the internet and loaded upon being turned on? I have no idea.

Additional Uses I would like to see:

1) The main menu is setup with icons you scroll through to launch applications. It would be interesting to know if software upgrades could add more applications such as google mail, YouTube, Hulu, etc. Or, maybe if HP was smart, they would allow developers access to the code to create some tailored applications called up by a new icon.

2) I can see copying videos here for your own portable You Tube or presentation system where you just need to play a video with good sound. Yes, you can use a laptop or netbook, but this unit has such nice design, it would look nice in an office.

3) HULU & Netflix if they could provide feeds to Hulu and Netflix accounts, that would be superb.

4) Widgets if you could add Yahoo widgets, that would be interesting.

5) Games There are no games and no controller. Maybe a WII type of add on to run older legacy games from a memory card?

I think this Dreamscreen is a gadgeteers dream machine if HP started providing add on programs and features like iPod does. Some of the reviews say this product is an early, limited competitor to an expected Apple tablet pc, but it does not have a touchscreen and other features of a tablet like a TC1100, but what if HP used the same internals and then offered a whole range of options to add stuff kind of like the Ford Mustang in the 1960's (or the new one).

For more info, look at the guides on the CD, and also visit the HP online web page for the Dreamscreen and read the FAQ's and info at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3935830&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

Enjoy.

Read Best Reviews of HP DreamScreen 100 10.2-Inch Wireless Connected Screen Here

It was just 16 months ago that I paid $250 for a Sony Sony DPF-V900 digital frame which included clock and calendar functions. I consider the Sony frame to be an excellent product and it has been on my desk ever since.

The HP DreamScreen 100 raises the bar considerably for digital frames at this price point. It adds 2GB of onboard storage, WiFi, and limited internet capabilities.

After some initial start-up problems (below), I was able to add the HP DreamScreen 100 to my WiFi network (driven by an Apple Time Capsule as router and wireless access point using WPA/WPA2 Personal security) using the basic set-up procedure. Shortly after joining the network, the frame updated its software, a process which took several minutes.

Owing to having the Sony frame, I already had a set of about 50 photos cropped to fit with the 16x9 frame ratio. I plugged the frame into my Mac Mini via USB and was able to quickly copy the set to the frame. The photos on the HP are larger, of course, but are also brighter with a noticeably cooler color temperature. I would rate the photo display as excellent, but keep in mind I was using photos already cropped to a wide screen ratio.

The clock and calendar offer several display options, including dual time zones, clock with calendar, and clock with photo. It does not, however, have a clock/calendar/photo option, which is my usual choice on the older Sony frame.

I was able to copy and play music files from my itunes music folders, including older mp3 files and more recent DRM-Free iTunes Music Store tracks. In an ideal world, you would be able to add the frame as an authorized iTunes device under Home Sharing, but that's not likely to happen, ever. Audio quality is acceptable, but just OK compared to a dedicated desktop music device like an Altec Lansing IM3 or IM6.

I have quite a few videos optimized for the PSP. I used a Memory Stick full-sized adaptor to plug in some of my MS Duo cards. The movies and TV shows on the cards played OK, although having been optimized for the PSP, they did not fill the screen and were fuzzier than they appear to be on the PSP. I expect you would get very good results if you exported video with settings optimal for the HP DreamScreen 100.

I found the interface for HP SmartRadio cumbersome and confusing at first. Here's a hint: it only displays search results 50 stations at a time; if you press the Down button again when you get to the end of the list, it will bring up the next 50. It should tell you this on the screen. The service itself worked with no problems.

I still don't have a Facebook account, but I did set up Pandora and Snapfish accounts to try those services on this device. Both ran smoothly on the HP DreamScreen 100. I do have Windows XP on my Mac Mini, but I was able to do everything I wanted with the HP DreamScreen 100 without switching to Windows and installing the software. If I do install the Windows software later, I will update this review.

All in all, this is a pretty good choice if you're looking for a frame that does more than just show photos. A point off for the following (in addition to the other minor issues mentioned above): the first four times I started it up, it crashed a few seconds into the demo video (holding down the Back button while starting finally got me to the main screen); I would prefer a slightly larger remote control with a better layout; with all this capability, there should be a news feed. If it had a clock/calendar/photo display, it would replace the Sony frame on my desk in my home office. As it is, I will look forward to finding find a place for it in the living room, theater, or bedroom.

Want HP DreamScreen 100 10.2-Inch Wireless Connected Screen Discount?

If you've considered purchasing a digital frame for someone, perhaps an older relative, less computer-savvy than yourself, this may just be the thing, so long as you're willing to assist with initial setup.

In addition to the beautiful ten-inch photo screen, this DreamScreen has a number of other features which would be of interest to such a user: one-touch weather reports, two different radio feeds, photos via Snapfish, and Facebook status updates. While this last item, without the ability to post one's own statuses or comments, seemed useless to me at first, after due consideration it is obvious that many older adults would create Facebook profiles simply for the opportunity to review the status updates and photos of a few people, if and only if there were an easy way to do it. Once set up (and the lack of a touch-screen does make this a little time-consuming) this screen can be placed on the wall (it has to be plugged in, but I see that as a plus since recharging isn't an issue) and operated via the remote, which it's hard to lose because the top of the frame has a slot for it!

A number of photo memory cards are supported, including xD, the format used by Olympus. It was a pleasant surprise that, without having to add software or "synch" with a computer, I could just take the memory card out of my Olympus camera and view a slide show of all the photos currently in the camera. Of course, by connecting with a computer (using the included cable) one can choose exactly which photos will be displayed.

There are a few limitations. The remote is small and counter-intuitive, requiring going "back" to return to the main menu, and I can't for the life of me figure out why there is no news widget. And, of course, a computer connection, wired or wireless, is required, but given the "packages" sold with phone service and cable TV these days, even an otherwise-computerless household may be wise to contract for this service.

I must note that a computer is necessary to set up Pandora (internet radio) and Facebook accounts, but once they're set up they can be accessed on the DreamScreen without further access to a computer.

The computer-savvy will recognize that this frame isn't much cheaper than a netbook, and a netbook can do so much more. But not everyone needs or wants a computer, and for them, this is perfect.

Wow, I'm really, really upset about this.

Facebook was the primary reason why I purchased this product. I've been spending hours trying to get this to work only to find out that it simply no longer is a feature of this product as advertised. I just blew $200 on a product that I can't return.

This is VERY irresponsible of HP to continue to sell this product and not issue any marketing updates that Facebook no longer works, and hasn't worked for months (as shown on their community boards).

Worse, HP is blaming this on Facebook by claiming that it's changes to Facebook that broke the functionality. It sounds more like HP didn't have a contract with Facebook, but was just using the API. When the API changed, HP simply never updated the firmware to the product to match changes in the API, and now we're left with products that don't work as advertised...and HP continues to sell them.

It's been months now and not only hasn't HP fixed this, but hasn't acknowledged when or even if it will be fixed.

Customers shouldn't have to review the company's message boards and hear from other customers about what advertised features don't work before deciding to purchase the product. I doubt I'll be purchasing any future HP products if this is what I can expect.

Shame on you HP.

PS: Having a broken social networking app is doubly irresponsible since users of such apps are exactly the people who communicate the problem and influence other potential customers.

PPS: Aside from the Facebook app not working, the picture frame isn't all that great either. It could be, but as other reviewers have commented, it doesn't allow you to set it and forget. Instead, you need to interact with it for switching between slideshow and weather or other apps. The apps load really slow, so it's really not much fun.

Tivoli Audio Model 10 Clock Table Radio

Tivoli Audio Model 10 Clock Table Radio
  • Clock Table Radio

Major audio flaw: chk-chk-chk noise (bursts of high frequency noise at approx. 1 second intervals) when in FM mode. Volume of bursts is constant, regardless of the unit's volume setting. Very distracting when radio set at volume level 15 or lower. Tivoli customer support told me that this noise is "normal" but claimed that it should only be audible from very close to the unit. In my experience "very close" would be anywhere within 7 feet of this bedside unit. That said, the high frequencies can be muffled successfully with a pillow.

Minor audio flaw: significant base level hum/noise, regardless of audio input (FM, AM, Aux). Not particularly distracting, but surprising given that none of our other home audio equipment (not even the 40-year old, slightly melted, flea market Heathkit radio in the kitchen) makes noise like this.

Other than the above (and the "gurk" noise it makes when it shuts off, which is really just an aesthetic issue...), I don't have any real complaints about the audio quality. It's completely satisfactory for any non-quiet room like the kitchen or garage.

Major design flaw for bedroom use: the display backlight is very bright. It's adjustable, but even at its lowest setting it is still bright enough to compromise sleeping. The lowest setting is brighter than the brightest setting on the Sony Dream Machine this unit was supposed to replace. The backlight can be turned off entirely, but then the clock is difficult to read in a well-lit room and impossible to read in the dark.

I would mention that setting/adjusting the alarm is a tedious process and requires use of the remote control, but the moral of this story is that the Model 10 is unfit for the bedroom.

It's a shame, really, as it is a handsome unit by itself. But it looks sad on the nightstand with its display dark, sitting next to that second clock you'll need.

I would return this thing to Tivoli in a heartbeat.

I already have a Tivoli Model One for my kitchen, and while expensive, I appreciate its aesthetic and sound quality. Viewing the pictures of the Model 10 online, I thought it would be a handsome addition to the bedroom but ended up returning it. Indeed, the Model 10 is very good looking in person and the cabinet finish appears top-notch. However, while operating in FM mode, it makes an soft, but distinct intermittent beeping noise. I raised my concern to Tivoli customer service, who informed me (as reflected in other reviews I have read) that this is an inherent characteristic of the radio and related to the processing of the RMS signal, which allows the radio to display information on the song that is currently playing. This feature cannot be turned off nor modified. I found this to be completely unacceptable in a $200 clock radio, most of whose listeners are likely within a short distance of the speaker. I really wanted to love this radio, but just could not live with this noise. Frankly, I am disappointed in the carelessness displayed in the design engineering of this product.

If you want to decorate your house this one is the model to choose. If you want to listen to music I'd recommend to pick something else. If you want quality that matches the price don't look this way. I've had two of these and the both were pretty much boxes of failure. One of them made constantly annoying low humming and it's clock was faulty. The other kept beeping when ever there was high pitch noises in music and the antenna was very loosely attached to the casing. Not the quality you expect to get with price tag these have.

Want Tivoli Audio Model 10 Clock Table Radio Discount?

My criteria for purchase was;

1) small footprint

2) excellent sound

3) ease of use

4) Aux input

On 3 of these criteria, this unit is 5 stars. It is in the area of of using this as an alarm clock that this unit receives 1 star. If you are considering to purchase this as a radio, with Aux input, clock function, lineout (headphone) and sub out, and not planning to use as an alarm clock, this unit receives 5 stars.

Sound: Excellent warm & clear sound in a bedroom 16' x 18'

Footprint: A small footprint on the night stand & looks fantastic in the natural cherry!

Aux input: You can purchase an optional Ipod dock or simply use the built in AUX input. Sounds excellent with my Itouch & Iphone

"Ease of Use" is the one area lacking in this unit and should be a minus 2 stars!

It comes with a small remote & all programming & setting of the 2 alarms must be done with the remote. I will say you can figure out how to use the unit with the remote without reading any instructions (as long as you have light). The remote is not backlit, therefore not easy to use in a dimly lit bedroom, so you need to turn on a light to do anything. In addition, the remote is so small it is easy to misplace or lose in the bed.

This product is labeled as a clock radio and all controls should at least be accessible on the clock radio itself not only on the small remote, which has small print (get out your glasses and turn on the lights in the room). It appears Tivoli engineers & marketing went for style over function. In addition, to set the alarm time, you must turn on the radio....did you just read what I wrote? So, the engineers at Tivoli require you to have the radio on to set the alarm time, so if your partner falls asleep before you and they depend on you to set the alarm, you mut turn on the radio (which will wake them up). This is a very poor design feature for anyone considering this to be their bedroom alarm clock.

The display is quite bright but there are 2 sliding scale settings (accessed via the remote) to darken the display. The snooze button on the top of the unit is well designed and easy to use. The alarm has settings for weekdays & weekends & there is a battery back-up. For the money, and after research of other units, this is an okay purchase, once you understand the limitations and design flaws as a primary bedroom alarm clock. My other choice was the Acoustic Research Solo. So, you may want to consider that unit.

Here is an additional undocumented feature for those considering this as a bedroom alarm clock:...if you are using the Aux input on the unit to play music from Pandora or a Itunes Playlist (from an Ipod/Itouch/Iphone, etc....) before going to slee, and you fall asleep with the Tivoli unit playing music via the Aux input, and the alarm on the Tivoli clock radio is set to come on in the morning to a radio station, the alarm will not come on. This seems to be an undocumented feature from Tivoli and you only find this out when your alarm fails to wake you after you have fallen asleep listening to a nice playlist one nite and only wake up to your friends/family/work calling your cell phone wondering where you are at. Minus 3 stars for this undocumented feature Tivoli!

Tivoli makes so many other excellent devices which play music in this size and marketing category for use in a den, kitchen, office or even bedroom. One would have thought if they were adding two alarms and a clock to this device they would have segmented this unit for those of us looking for an excellent sounding, asthetically pleasing Alarm Clock Radio and engineered it better than they have done here with this unit. Perhaps, the Model 10.5, so, you might want to wait and see if Tivoli will make any improvements? Good luck with your search if you are looking for an Alarm Clock Radio....

I've had a Model 10 for about three months and I wanted to like it.

Yes, even in the lowest setting, the light is too bright for comfort.

Yes, controls are cumbersome and counter intuitive.

On top of that, the electronic clock of my Model 10 is fast to the tune of SIX (6) minutes a month.

This shouldn't happen with such an expensive radio.

  • Reduce your phone bill by using your cell phone's service plan from your home phones
  • Voicemail alert, voice dialing, speed dial and alarm clock phone ring
  • Connect Phone Lynx to cell phones using Bluetooth Wireless Technology.

Phone Lynx worked fine for about 1 month. Then started to slowly deteriorate...wouldn't pass thru calls, calls began to get dropped, then it would drop the BT connection and/or wouldn't reconnect when mobile phone was in range (2 feet). Had to resort to unplugging the Phone Lynx, unpairing, plugging it back in and then pairing again. This got old but it only lasted about a week. Then the Phone Lynx stopped sending out a BT signal altogether.

It is now a paperweight and not even a good one at that.

To top if off, Beach Audio won't take it back and Cobra says they will only send me a replacement. Reading other reviews on this product, I should have known better. This thing lasts about 2 months and, of course, that's about the cutoff for Beach Audio's return policy. Gee, think they know something?

It's not if the Phone Lynx will fail, it's simply when. For me, it was 2 1/2 months.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Going to try out the OBi202 with OBiWifi and OBiBT. At least the reviews are better.

I bought this item thinking I could get rid of our land line service. Luckily I didn't cancell until I gave the Cobra a fair trial. It did not perform well. It wanted to drop calls, also it was delayed so much that people would hang up before we could answer. When answering, we would have to say hello multiple times. Simply didn't work well. Return was easy with Amazon.

I have now ordered Uniden Bluetooth phones that can be used with both cell and landline calls which could not be done with the Cobra PhoneLynx.

I own a Sansa Connect and wanted to find a portable and reasonable sounding set of speakers to acccompany it for use at my office, home, and other locations where I might prefer not to use earphones. The iM413 seemed to fit the bill nicely so I bought one this weekend. The build quality is excellent and the overall sound is good for speakers of this size, especially when using the bass boost and surround sound functions controlled by the included remote. The tone is pleasing and easily heard across an average sized room even at relatively low to moderate volume settings. There is some distortion at the highest volume, but I won't be using that level much anyway, so I don't find that unacceptable for my needs. The system looks great with the Connect attached and presents a very clean, high tech profile. I particularly like that the speaker dock also charges the player. The Connect has a short battery life when using WiFi, so being able to stream Internet radio for several hours with no concern for the battery running low is a big "plus". I can listen to and download plenty of music and still have a fully charged battery when I'm ready to go moble with just the player. The iM413's FM reception has been quite good and it is nice having another option for music that my Connect itself does not currently have. Since the system is also compatable with the Sansa c200 and e200 series of MP3 players, both my son (e260) and duaghter (c250) can also make use of the iM413 when I'm not using it. The only problem will be the fighting to get it! My one compliant is the FM antenna which is a single, thin wire. It tends to get in the way when moving the unit around and seems easy to accidently damage or pull off if it were to snag on something, etc. Perhaps a small, fold-away telescoping antenna may have been a better option in my opinion, espcially for a portable system. Overall, however, this is not a big enough issue to stop my liking the iM413 so much. I wish it were not so expesnive ($99 at BestBuy), but as they become more available, I'm sure there will be some great deals out there before too long. For what I use it for, the iM413 is a great product and I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid sounding, portable speaker system for the Sansa Connect, e200, or c200 series.

It's an excellent product, and I'm quite satisfied with the quality of the speakers. The only missing feature is a built-in alarm and a clock. But what I really wanted to point out is the antenna. In the product description and in the accompanying picture, it lists the product as having a "telescopic antenna," and shows it in the picture. However, when I received the item, the system had a wire antenna. It's quite annoying and out of sync with the portable design of the entire unit. It's a 55-inch wire that dangles off the speakers. A complete design flaw in my opinion! Why the discrepancy? Are there older and newer versions of this model? Whoever you buy from, double check with the seller if you care about this.

Every aftermarket product available is always for an ipod. For those of us that actually do research before we buy, we find that the Sansa is a better product. I was happy to hear that Altec Lansing stepped up and out of the ipod trend to offer this system.

This is an excellent unit. Drop the sansa in and you are set. It charges the sansa and the sound is crystal clear. Would you expect anthing less from Altec Lansing? When your sansa isn't on hand the FM tuner is very handy.

Don't look for other systems, this is the one!!

What great speakers. I needed some kind of speaker system for my Sansa MP3 player. I searched around looking for something specifically for this unit. I didn't expect sound like I get from my big stereo but the quality from these speakers was more than I expected. All I needed was some way to listen to my music and this fills the bill. I really like the fact that I can unplug it and take it outside and run the unit on batteries. This will be great for camping this summer. I'd definately recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a sound system for their MP3 player.
