NOKIA N76 RED UNLOCKED GSM 2MP CAMERA CELL PHONE

NOKIA N76 RED UNLOCKED GSM 2MP CAMERA CELL PHONEI purchased this phone as a gift for my wife, who wanted a "flip phone", but didn't want to learn how to use Motorola (she's had Nokia for the past few years). This really is a great phone it has full functionality that you expect from high end Nokia phones (e.g. syncronizes with Outlook and other Microsoft Office products); easy to navigate around and with cameras, MP3 and video and PTT, has everything you could possibly want. The only downsides are (a) the keyboard is a little hard to get used to but after a couple of weeks even that becomes less of a hassle; and (b) the camera is good for outside shots, but not so good for inside with poor light but as another reviewer said, buy a camera if you want good quality shots. For spontaneous snap shots and video (e.g. of your kids playing at the park), it's fine. 4 Stars as a phone 5 stars if you're a Nokia user looking for a flip phone.

At the time, this was the most expensive phone I had ever purchased. I fell in love with design and color of the phone and it worked great, especially overseas. However, the silver colored plastic on the face of the phone started peeling (from contact with skin oils, perspiration, etc.) after owning it only 6 months or so. I researched it and other people who contacted Nokia got replacement phones that did the exact same thing within a few months. I was a loyal Nokia customer for over 10 years (my first phone circa 1997 was a Nokia). Needless to say, I am no longer a Nokia customer.

I like this phone I've bought so far. It looks really cool and is easy to handle. The sound and images are beautiful.

I would rather give this product "Zero" star. It looks good from picture, but once you receive on your hand, you will understand what I am talking about. The battery cover is extreme difficult to remove from the phone.

For a phone marked as $400+, it is not worth at all. The phone keeps unresponding or could not power it off. The only way to rest this phone is removed the battery. The N76 I got is really a piece of junk.

I bought this phone for my wife as her birthday. After few hours with the phone. She just wants me to return the product back to Amazon ASAP. Don't waste your time and money for this good looking phone.

This product was finally shipped to me after several delays, and when I finally got it, the box was opened and the phone was damaged on the sides. It had no plastic cover for the memory card, but it didn't need it, since it didn't bring the included memory card neither. The charger was also missing.

My choice was to send it back (and pay the 2-way shipment) or living with a "new" cellphone that looked like it was roughly used for a year.

At first I though the box was opened on the way here, but unless someone in FedEx put his really mistreated cellphone (identical to the one i bought) in the place of the new one, I doubt it could be accidentally (or even on purpose) damaged that way.

Since the shipment from my country was waaaaay too expensive I had to keep it, so don't let it happen to you. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!

  • HP iPAQ H6315 PDA Pocket PC T-Mobile Phone Edition
  • Part Number:FA239A#ABA
  • Manufacturer:HP

i am using this phone right now. I have researched a lot of phones before buying this.

Pros :

The main features in this which i liked were ;

----WiFi ( which i could connect right away to any internet wirelessly) , ----Bluetooth( i could sync to any computer or phone to transfer my files) . and we also get a usb sync cable to connect it directly to a computer to transfer files.

Cons :

-Slow processor at 168MHz, gives a generally sluggish response. If you are not looking for WIFI phone, better go for a faster pda like HP 6515. its much faster than this 6315 and 6515 has inbuilt GPSbut it doesn't have wifi..

-64MB of memory with 55MB

--Some bugginess causes unexplainable problems such as the snap-on keyboard not working momentarily, often only remedied by a soft reset of the device.

Extra :

you can buy a 512mb sd card on ebay for 20 bucks and increase your memory.

you can also buy a SDIO gps card on ebay to add GPS navigation to this 6315.. it costs arouund $75

I have been looking for a PDA and a phone. To find this combo is perfect! I have already unlocked it and used many other carriers on this device. I gradually keep buying programs for it and load them all on the SIM card. What I love most is it does NOT have the silly keypad (although amny of them come with that attachement. I value my screen space and writing space more than anything. It does not have a great external speaker, but I only use a bluetooth earpiece and car stereo. It has become quite the entertainment device as well. I LOVE IT!

I would buy this over any of the existing new PDA phones.

I have owned this pocket pc since February 10 ... I walked into T-Mobile and bought it for $500 ... The reason: you do not need a phone plan to get 24/7 online service ... Incidentally I pay only $30 per month for internet service and 20 cents per minute for the phone ... This is a good platform for people who have a cell phone already ... I have nothing but good things to say about this machine and the outstanding service at T-Mobile ...

Nokia 6555 AT&T CINGULAR BLACK CAMERA PHONE Unlocked

Nokia 6555 AT&T CINGULAR BLACK CAMERA PHONE UnlockedWhile it is true that the Nokia 6555 has very short battery life, it is common to all 3G phones. However, there is a way to increase battery life: change connection type from UMTS to GSM from Auto. This will disable 3G and force the phone into GSM mode, which will greatly increase battery life.

Hope this works.

I bought this phone last week directly from the AT&T store. I renewed my existing contract with AT&T so I already had their service. I am very impressed with the phone overall. It is sleek and stylish with a lot of features which work well.

Pros: Styling and Features

Call quality and signal strength

Micro SD card slot

Dedicated USB cable port

Dedicated headphone jack (albeit a small one so you still need an adapter)

Pin type connector charger (not the clip on connectors)

Cons: Battery Life

Lack of installed ringtones, (correction, see below)

Hard to navigate folders and menus

I mostly use the phone to talk on and not much else. I need to charge the battery pretty much every night. I can go about a day and a half or 2 days if I stretch it. If you talk a lot or intend to use the other features plan on charging it every night. In their defense the battery life is rated at 3 hours of talk time and that is pretty much it. You won't get more than that and like I said you won't get even that much if you do games or other stuff. The other thing that was kind of disappointing was no ringtones installed except the standard ATT ring. (Correction). There are a couple of ringtones installed I just wasn't looking in the right folder which is the biggest problem I have with it now. The music hides in different menu folders and depending which menu you are in you won't see them which is why I didn't think there were any tones at first. You pretty much have to download anything you want to play.

I really like the phone and if the battery would last longer it would be about perfect. Since all I do is use it for talking and not much else it suits me.

I have had this phone for about 5 months now and still really like it. I am not a tech wiz so I have not even used the music player and other features until recently. I downloaded some ringtones from a 3rd party website and it was easy. They play great. Today I used the bluetooth capability to load pictures from my camera to my MacBook and also loaded a few songs onto my phone. It was easy for a novice like myself. No compatibility issues. Call quality and reception have been above average. I fly all over the east coast and it works pretty much everywhere you would expect.

Just got this phone on Weds, as replacement for my old Nokia I was looking for a phone that is reliable, easy to use, has texting capabilities, sleek, has a streamlined design, a loud alarm (I rely on my phone to wake me up), and takes clear pictures. This phone is compact, and performed well when I saw it at the Cingular store.

BUT today, I experienced the worst battery life that a cell phone could have. After charging this phone to the max, I texted my friends, and talked for about 3 hours when the battery indicator showed that 1/4 of its capacity. Then, my phone died. Usually, I'd have at least 1 hour left to use the phone, with an indication of 1/4 battery. BUT NO! It just died, and luckily, I wasn't in a situation where I needed a phone (I was at home all day today). Everyday since I got this phone, I've had to charge it. Usually every 2 days I'd charge my old Nokia phone.

I will be calling Cingular to ask for a replacement battery.

I replaced my Motorola L6 with this Nokia 6555. I liked the L6 except the keys were very small and close together, so I would sometimes hit the wrong key. Also, I had to lock the keys whenever I carried it so a key would not get pressed accidentally. What I needed was a flip phone with slightly larger keys and this Nokia was just the ticket.

This cell phone has so many features that I will only list a few. First off, my friend just got a Samsung Blackjack II and this Nokia does almost all the same things that his does. They both have MP3, 3G, Bluetooth, internet access, camera, Micro SD memory ready, organizer, and more with services through ATT. As far as we can tell thus far is the only thing the Smartphones have the Nokia 6555 does not have is Microsoft Mobile Suite. The Blackjack keys are so tiny that I do not know how anyone can use them. Plus, the Blackjack cost much more. The better choice is by far the Nokia 6555.

The only problem I am having is navigating the menus to find the settings I am looking for. I have to keep referring to the manual. I suppose after a while I will learn where everything is and memorize most of it.

The battery life seems to be about average for a fully loaded cell phone. Maybe some day they will make batteries that last much longer for those power users that complain about short battery talk time. For now we just have to charge the battery more often. Not a big deal for me. If I plan to use the phone a lot, then I simply charge my phone and headset at night to have a full charge on both and I am ready to go the next day. If I do not use it very much, then I only have to charge them about every 3 or 4 days.

Pros:

Slim and stylish.

Good sound quality.

Many features.

Cons:

Menus difficult to navigate.

UPDATE:

Another con is the backlight only stays on for 10 seconds and there is no way to adjust it to stay on longer.

First, the bad. I purchased the Nokia 6555b from AT&T Jan 8, 2008. Three weeks later the exterior mini-display was cracked and inoperable. I had worn it on my belt while driving and my seat belt buckle put enough pressure on the mini-display to crack it. VERY disappointing. All Nokia had to do was put a thicker, more rigid plastic cover over the display and it would be fine. Instead, I have a busted phone. Except for the broken mini-display and the inability to see the clock or caller ID, the phone still works, but that mini-display is a Bad Design.

A lot of people complain about the battery. At first I experienced very short battery times as well. I even bought a second battery for $15 with some other accessories. I have never needed it. I believe the battery gets better with time. At first it was displaying low battery charge. Now it goes for a couple of days no problem. I charge it each night, though, just to be safe.

I bought the 6555 because it works with the Acura Hands Free Link system via Bluetooth. (Not all Bluetooth phones do.) It also works with the Ford Sync system. Both work very well. It is indeed nice to place or receive calls without having to find the phone. No clumsy earphones. No looking away to dial or press buttons. No wires at all. My wife leaves hers in her purse, I leave my in my pocket (not wearing it on my belt anymore--I might break it again.) With Sync, the Bluetooth even allows the phone to become a media player. Very cool.

Using the free downloadable Nokia software, you can edit the phonebook from your laptop via the special--and hard to find--micro USB cable that costs $15. But if your laptop has Bluetooth like mine--because I bought a Microsoft Bluetooth wireless laser mouse 8000 and its Bluetooth receiver also receives other Bluetooth devices like my phone--you can connect without having to buy the micro USB cable. The cable is handy to carry though, so you can connect the phone to other computers if necessary to download pictures and video if needed. Using this software, you can also make your own ring tones. My custom ringtone is Hillary Clinton cackling/laughing.

The main display has a nice large font that is visible in broad daylight. Color combinations (themes) are adjustable and some are better than others, but it's nice to have options.

The phone has a speaker phone built in if desired.

It's easy to switch from ring to vibrate--just hold the # key for a few seconds.

If you have MS Outlook as your emailer, you can sync your calendar.

The 6555 comes with a host of useful tools including: a Stopwatch with split times; a Countdown Timer to remember to take the roast out on time; a full-function Calculator; an Alarm Clock; Notes; To-Do list; and a Calendar.

It has some dumb games that are mostly demo only.

It has a very mediocre still camera and an even more mediocre video camera.

It can text, but I don't do that.

It can be configured for Push-To-Talk, at extra cost, if you must have walkie talkie capability.

I was worried about the tiny charging plug, but so far it's been durable, even though it did obsolete all my previous Nokia accessories.

It does need a micro-mini plug for the headphones if you want to use it as a personal music player. Mine included a short Micro-to-Standard mini adapter so you can use your regular headphones.

The Settings menu allows you to reconfigure what many of the buttons will do: if you need to get to some buried menu item like the calculator often, make the Right Selector button do it. One touch and you're in business. This is a very handy feature.

Overall, I am quite pleased with the phone. The audio quality is fine, it rarely drops calls and is small, thin and lightweight. The only real problem is how fragile the outer display is. Nokia should have shipped it with a protector or engineered it better from the get-go.

eTon Solarlight S.A.M.E. FR370 Emergency Self-Powered Radio and Cell Phone Charger Handy During HurricaneVery easy to operate. Good quality. Instructions easy to follow. I live in a coastal zone with exciting...and that means potentially dangerous...weather. This radio is highly recommended!

Maverick WS-1000 Weather Station

Maverick WS-1000 Weather Station
  • Full-featured wireless weather instrument with an integral atomic alarm clock
  • Clock displays time plus the month, date, and weekday
  • Shows indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity, an animated weather forecast icon, current or historic barometric pressure with 24-hour history bar graph and trend arrow
  • Collects rainfall and rate or amount history data.
  • LCD panel is continuously backlit in blue, and you can adjust the brightness.

This is a great item, but they put a black grid into the screen. This grid makes it impossible to read the display at night unless you are less than a foot away and directly at eye level. This was so irritating I returned the product back to Amazon. The alarm clock feature had no volume control. This was also very annoying. So sad since everything else was so perfect.

This item functions as intended, but I don't understand the graph portion of the display.

Some things I dislike about this product are:

1. The backlight only dims, it cannot be turned off.

2.The digital clock takes up too much space on the display. I would make it smaller or eliminate it altogether, and make the weather portion of the display larger.

3. The button that allows the viewer to view temperature highs & lows etc only lasts for 5 seconds. I would extend this viewing time.

4. The weather icon (forcaster) does not even remotely predict the real weather.

In spite of these drawbacks I would recommend this product.

The product seems sturdy and fairly well built. All of the features seem to work as described. The clock display is very hard to read if you are not up close and are viewing the clock straight-on. Any change in viewing angle makes the text dissapear. The barometric bars at the bottom are almost impossible to read, even if you are right up on it.

The unit was quite different, and in many ways better,(it had a color screen and lots of information) than the usual weather stations you see on the internet. I was sure I had found one I would not have to return. Unfortunately I did have to return it. The screen is so full of information that each individual icon is too small for me to see (not their fault I'm getting old) unless I am very close to the unit. If it had a bigger screen with bigger numbers and or icons of information I would have kept it. The five stars are for what it might be for you, even though I had to return it.

NAXA NRC-172 PLL Digital Dual Alarm Clock with AM/FM Radio and Snooze (Black Lacquer)

NAXA NRC-172 PLL Digital Dual Alarm Clock with AM/FM Radio and Snooze
  • PLL digital AM/FM radio tuner
  • 10 AM and 10 FM radio station presets with dual alarm function
  • 0.6 inch LED display
  • Wake up to radio or alarm with snooze and sleep function
  • UL/ETL approved AC adaptor

This radio is packed with features -some, like a digital tuner, are not often found in this priced range. Low priced radios with analog tuners are universally garbage, so, I couldn't resist. As expected, product was very lightly built. Directions were complicated, but complete and logical. The clock functioned well, the tuner found my favorite stations with ease, and the presets worked fine. The radio just would not hold the selected station. It would play (and play well) for all of a few minutes, and then go silent for a few minutes, then come back on for a few, then go to a loud static for awhile, then back to the station, over and over. If while it was silent, I pressed a volume button, it would instantly come back on for a moment, then go silent again. Apparently there was a short of some kind deep within the unit.

I called Amazon, explained the problem, no replacement for this item was available, the agent cheerfully refunded my purchase price. I did not have to return the defective product. Service doesn't get any better than that.

BOTTOM LINE: From the mixed reviews written for this product, it appears that quality control is a crap shoot. If you get a good one, you win and you have a nice little bedside clock-radio. If you get a dud, you get a refund. Good luck!

I like that this has a digital tuner and small footprint the primary reasons I bought this to replace my 10 year old emerson alarm clock that recently stopped working.

The time display on this NAXA alarm is pretty small, but I see 20/20 thus not an issue for me, however for anyone nearsighted as I was in the past this might be a problem.

This thing has a ton of buttons on the front as you can see in the photos, most of which are multi-purpose. Just turning off the alarm not snooze/sleep but OFF as I'm now awake is not a simple process please share if you've figured this out. I don't find this in the manual aside pressing volume DOWN then source/alarm/off which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't make the alarm dot turn off. I don't want to wake my husband thus I try to turn OFF my alarm not snooze or sleep. I wish it had a simple slider for off/radio/buzzer for each alarm instead...

I'm undecided if I'll search for another option, after just two days with this one I'm frustrated.

it has been nearly 2 week that i am using this radio. The performance is really great after my Coby analog radio.the perset station future is great to use.

the only thing is that using the features of this radio is like using the control panel of a jumbo jet cockpit!!.it is so complicated and the features is IN ONE ANOTHER.

Overall a good radio.specially with the price Amazon selling.

I replaced an old 10-15 year clock radio in the bathroom with this clock radio. It is small and unique looking and works well, but it does not really shout quality etc. It is too light weight to push the button, without holding the clock itself. The buttons make loud clicks when pressed.

This was flagship rcvr and sounds fantastic, however it was blown out by pioneer at it's end of life in 2010 for around $3500.

It is not hdmi 1.4 so won't do 3d video like newer avrs.

It is an audiophile grade sound, but latest models w class d amps are every close, much

Iighter, run cooler and will have much more use for today's hdmi 1.4 components. And much cheaper.

I purchased this unit at the end of 2010. When playing BD movies, sometimes there would be no sound at the start. I had to turn the system off and restart for the sound to come though. So this required a firmware update. The only was to get an update was to remove the receiver from the system and take it to an authorized service center. Once I got the receiver back, the next problem I had was a very loud popping noise when playing certain movies and music cd's. At this time, I have not seen where Pioneer has issued a firmware update on this problem and customer service will not even admit a problem. The popping noise was so loud, I had to remove the receiver from my system. I could not recommend this unit to anybody and the support from Pioneer on this matter is poor, especially for the cost of a "flagship receiver".

Speck Products CandyShell Grip Case for iPhone 4/4S - 1 Pack - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Po

Speck Products CandyShell Grip Case for iPhone 4/4S - 1 Pack - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Pomodoro/BlackThe product is usually 10-15 dollars less than the retail price of the case which is 35. I was ecstatic when I heard that the case was 15 dollars off. When the case arrived, it felt somewhat of a cheaper quality. I did not doubt Speck and decided that manufacturing has degraded. About two weeks later, the silicone began to rip. The rubber grips also rubbed off. I contacted speck and they said that the seller, First Deal, was not covered under the one year warranty. Therefore, I returned the product to amazon and ordered a legitimate one from Speck. The materials from the legitimate Speck candyshell grip was much higher quality. The manufacturing job was also more professional. There wasn't any stray ends of the silicone. The real Speck candyshell grip has a hard type of silicone. It is almost like plastic. The fake one from amazon, was actual silicone. It was soft and rubbery and rubs off due to consistent use. The case is an overall good case, but I warn buyers who decide to purchase their product from amazon as it is sold by First Deal, who are not authorized to sell Speck products.

I had been shopping for a good case for my iPhone since I purchased it in November. There are a lot of choices out there, but I really liked the look and design of the Speck cases. The problem came down to deciding which type of Speck case I wanted. I had been looking at the CandyShell black/peacock one for a long time. I love the color teal and really liked the case, but I was afraid that the slick candyShell case would make it too slippery and hard to hold on to. That and the cases were still pretty expensive. So I decided to wait a bit and I'm glad I did. During that time, Speck released a peacock/black version of their Grip case, which gives the stability of a hard shell with the softness and flexibility of a soft rubber case. I had a rubber case before just to protect it and it was really nice until it started stretching. That's not an issue with this case because of the hard shell, which makes the whole phone feel so much more substantial. That being said, this case doesn't add a lot of extra bulk or weight to the phone (which was one of my biggest issues with the otterbox and other cases like it). The rubber grips on the back definitely give it just enough grip to make it feel secure in your hand and on soft surfaces like the arm of a chair, or the seat of a car.

That being said, there is one small issue I had with the case. When I was putting the phone in the case, the way my screen protector that I had on the back of the phone was lined up, it got caught by the case which pushed it up. I didn't notice it until about 15 minutes later and by that time, there was all sorts of dust stuck to the screen protector right near where my camera was. I cleaned it up as best I could and tried to put the case back on, but the screen protector kept getting caught and pushed up, leaving bubbles under the screen protector. I finally got some tape and cut it into thin strips to help hold the screen protector down.

Speck recommends putting the top of the phone in first and then snapping the bottom in. Don't do it if you have a screen protector on the back of your phone. I finally figured out that the screen protector was being pushed up when I slid the top of my phone in (it was getting caught on the hard plastic ring around the camera cut out). Once I figured this out, I started putting the bottom in first and then snapping the top in. That kept the screen protector from being caught on anything. I still have the little pieces of tape there just in case, and I was able to get most of the dust out and most of the bubbles smoothed to the edge away from the camera lens. Just be careful when putting the phone in the case. I love it for it's stability, but that's part of what makes it a bit difficult to get the phone in and out (which is also a plus, really, but not so much when it messes up your screen protector). Just make sure that if you have a screen protector on the back (which I highly recommend because this case has a habit of picking up quite a bit of dust in it's nooks and crannies, the camera cut out being one of them), that you slide the bottom in and snap the top in. It should keep the protector from being caught on anything, though I'm not 100% sure because by the time I figured out what was going on, my screen protector had already been dislodged.

Aside from that, I'm incredibly pleased with the case itself. I was a bit dubious of it because I saw no listing for a black/peacock Grip case on the speck website when I ordered it, but by the time it got here, Speck had added it to their product listing on their website. So if you're like me and you love the color teal, you want a case that is both hard and grippy, and you just think that the design of this case looks really awesome and edgy, then I say don't hesitate to purchase. Just be mindful of your screen protectors on the back if you do!

This case is thin and has a more rounded shape than the iPhone 4s's blocky shape. That said, it is a little truer to the thinness of the 4s compared to the case I was previously using. I also like it because it works with the front and back screen protectors I had installed on my phone already. There's absolutely no bubbling up of the screen shield at all.

Pros:

-Thin design

-Grippy (easy to hold)

-All buttons are easy to press

-Doesn't obstruct screen protectors

-Sort of looks like a Stormtrooper!

Cons:

-The ribbed rubber part on the back catches lint (easy to clean out)

-Vibrate switch is a little recessed in the case

Really liked this case when I first got it, looked cool with my white iphone, and had a nice feel. Then it started shedding, and the love affair was officially over. All the rubber bits have started to wear completely off of the hard plastic. I never keep anything in the pocket I carry my phone in because I don't want to scratch it. Apparently this is a great case if you follow the steps below:

1. Put the case on your phone.

2. Leave your new protected phone on your desk.

2. No, really, why did you pick up your phone? All the bumper bits will start to peel off if you don't set it down right away.

3. What are you thinking? Don't put it in your pocket! This is the worst environment for your new case, because the bumper is apparently made from the same material as an eraser.

4. See? I told you so. There, now less than 30 days after you put it on your phone, and thoughtlessly used it in the manner in which it was intended the rubber bumper bits are completely gone in some spots.

5. When you buy this case, the best way to keep it in good shape is to just leave it in the package it came in.

This is a very sturdy case it really protects the phone in the event of an accidental fall. However the only flaw is in the rubber that forms part I the shell case on the edges around the screen.

A week after purchasing the item these rubber edges started separating from the plastic shell, the it began flaking off. It basically looks as if some animal chewed on the edges of the phone. I'm not sure if I just got a bad one or if this is a common occurance.

Overall if the flaking didn't happen it would have been a great case

  • USB smart phone charger
  • Hand turbine and solar powered
  • LED flashlight
  • Aux- input

I've had this radio for a little over a week now and have beeen putting it thru it's paces. All three bands, AM, FM and the weather band have excellent reception. I have no problem recieving the weather stations here in Western Massachusetts and both AM and FM recieve all the loca; stations perfectly. Audio quality which I admit isn't the primary reason to buy an emergency radio is really realy good. Sound quality is more than acceptable and volume is capable of being loud enough to be heard in a noisey room without distortion. I haven't tested the rechargable battery capacity yet but have confirmed that charging buy usb, solar or hand crank work as advertised. What makes this radio unique is the way it recharges a cell phone, instead of needing to use the hand crank, you charge the phone via a battery dump from the onboard rechargeable battery pack. You recharge the radio battery then plug in the phone which means you don't have to sit there and crank. After trying a few different emergency radios I find this one a keeper and I'm extremely happy with the purchase

I just received this radio. I purchased it for emergency purposes. Here is a summary of the features: AM/FM/7 weather bands. The reception in my area for all 3 functions is excellent. It comes with a retractable antenna which tucks away nicely when not in use. The radio is powered in 1 of 4 ways: solar (takes 10 hrs of direct sunlight to completely charge the NiMH battery); an included NiMH battery which is what is charged by the solar panel & the hand cranking (90 seconds of hand cranking yields 5-7 minutes of radio use per the instructions). The NiMH can also be powered by plugging the radio into a USB port on a computer (2 hrs to charge the battery this way). The radio can also be powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included). In addition, there is an adapter for DC power, but no charger was included (I need to call the manufacturer to inquire). The radio comes with a clock and alarm clock. A cell phone can also be charged via a "dump" from the included NiMH battery--the built in battery simply trickles the charge from the radio to the cell phone. The radio is indeed plastic, but doesn't see "cheap" to me, and if basic care is taken, the radio should do fine. The crank is also made of plastic, but again, with common sense, should provide years of service. I paid $45 for this radio on Amazon, and plan on getting several more for family/friends. There is a simple 2 white LED light and a blinking red LED. Someone criticized this light, but seriously, if you want a good light, then buy a dedicated flash light!! The built in LED light is adequate for a simple task, but it's not an "uber-lumen" light--I would suggest a Steamlight or Surefire light for a great LED light.

I will just summarize this product:

construction is plasticI don't believe it is waterproof (not a big deal to me). If you drop it, it may break depending on the height it is dropped from.

It has a cable for charging and comes with a rechargeable battery.

It can charge an iPhone4s and a Droid X2.

the crank is plastic so be gentle. You don't have to have brute strength to crank it or to utilize the recharge function.

The antenna is retractable and metal. It is easy to break but you can keep it tucked out of the way. The reception is good and dependent on your location. (am/fm/weather)

There is a solar recharging cell on the handle and it works nicely.

The flashlight is a joke. It is best suited for reading something close-up. Your best bet is to also have a flashlight around for emergencies. The flashing red light is also a joke. Again, have a handy flashlight to accompany this radio for emergencies.

Overall, I don't regret buying this radio. It is nice and serves the functions it was designed to perform. I would buy another if I needed to.

Good value for the money.

I own the eton FR160 Microlink, and the Kaito KA350 Voyager. Both are great for bug-out bags or camping, but I was looking for something for my home preparedness kit, and thought I'd like something a bit larger, with more to offer than the other radios. I was prepared to purchase another Kaito, mainly because it allows you to use batteries as a 3rd power source. But then I saw the FRX3 and after hours of research between the Kaito, the eton FR600, FR360, Axis, and the FX3, looking up the manufacturer's manuals rather than reviews, I decided to go with the FRX3.

The main feature that clinched it for me wasn't really even advertised. I compared this to the eton FR600 and the Axis. The FRX3 does state in the manual that it dump-charges like the Axis (and it DOES), but it's not really advertised anywhere else. The styling looks a little nicer too than the AXIS. But the FRX3 supports solar charging, and the Axis does NOT. They're both the same price, but an extra power source is a definite plus, especially if it's "free". You CAN tune the FRX3 with the knob, or the up and down buttons, a nice feature I stumbled upon. It also supports 24 hour time, but it's not in the manual. Just press SET for the hour, again for the minutes, and again for the 12/24 hour. The unit charges through a window even on a slightly over cast day, so I can leave it in the window and not worry about the battery going dead from non-use, or having to keep it plugged in. Compared to the eton FR600, you give up the shortwave capability, and the date on the clock, but the FR600 does NOT support the dump charge, nor does it use the USB input to charge a big sticking point for me all I need is a USB AC Adapter, a mini USB cable and a micro USB cable, and I can charge my phones, 2-way radios, GPS, and almost anything else I need, including the FRX3. Nice, instead of everything having it's own cable.

The flashlight it a little weak (I couldn't find a lumens rating, but it's only the top 2 LEDs, I'm guessing 50 less than a square lantern flashlight), but it's good as an emergency one until you find your main light. The red LED beacon is kinda goofy, but I guess it serves a purpose. Some do SOS, this ones does not.

This radio has everything you could want, except for the shortwave capability. Like I said, you can move to the FR600, but you loose the dump charge, which makes a big difference, and you can't use a USB cable to charge it. And it's $20 more.

The only downside I've found is that you can't turn the unit off. You get ON, or STANDBY, which leaves the clock on. I guess you'd need that for the SAME function, but I have a separate unit for that and would like to shut this off to save the battery. Otherwise, LOVE IT. If you're juggling a few, BUY THIS ONE.

The FRX2 AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio with USB Smartphone Charger and LED Flashlight came out of the box with enough charge to run for about 45 minutes. I discharged it completely by running the FM radio loudly and in 45 minutes I began to run it through its paces. It did EVERYTHING it says it does, some things REALLY well. The bulk of my review describes my verifying all features.

Pros

* Does EVERYTHING is says it does, some things REALLY well

* AM, FM, and Weather Radio features are nice multiple options

* 3 x LED flashlight is power stingy, useful bright

* Handy footprint

* Sturdy feeling and solid crank

* Esthetically pleasing

* Lots of different powering options

* Comes with mini-USB to USB cord for running power from a laptop

Cons

* No gauge to indicate power level remaining or if fully charged

Considerations

* Does not come with external power supply (not meant to be day-to-day radio)

* Not waterproof (not advertised as waterproof)

* Documentation could be clearer (it is "adequate")

Having the right cables and USB adapters are relevant to charging this device, and using it to charge a cell phone. I suggest (and have done this myself) keeping your cables wrapped up and attached with a "twistie" to the lanyard that comes with the radio. That way when you pop this in your emergency kit these will be attached to the device for use. Put these all in a heavy-duty ziploc baggy and, throw in with your emergency kit at home, on your boat, in your car, or with your camping gear, and you're good to go.

SUMMARY: All features worked well and as advertised. For details, feel free to read below.

Powered with crank (my favorite feature)

While cranking, the green battery light comes on indicating the device is getting power.

Test started with device battery drained. The crank turns VERY easily and steadily and you can keep up a 1 revolution per second speed without fatiguing. I was able to use the radio and LED flashlight on crank power alone. The footprint of this device made it easy to actually hold it as a flashlight and crank easily at the same time. If there is no charge in this, you can still easily use it to pick up a radio station or supply light, or both. The ultimate emergency power supply.

To charge it, I cranked for 5 minutes, then ran FM radio fairly loud for about 8 minutes until it died. Running on a low sound will give you more radio time, and I got well over 10 minutes on low volume with 5 minutes of slow and easy cranking. Five minutes of cranking and the LED flashlight (by itself, no radio) lasted for 1 hour and 45 minutes (manual says 2 hours close enough for me). I cranked very slowly with little effort, but more, longer, harder cranking will give you (duh) a longer lasting charge.

Notice that the radio uses much more power than the light.

Powered using external USB (DC) input

While powered with external input, the green battery light comes on indicating the device is getting power.

Test started with device battery drained. I turned on my fully charged ASUS netbook and connected the supplied mini-USB to USB cable to the netbook and ran the radio and flashlight from the turned on netbook with no problem. When I used this connection to charge the unit (radio turned off), I found I got about 1 minute of loud FM radio for every 1 minute I charged it. Worked as advertised.

You can use this with an external "wall wart" power supply. I used the supplied mini-USB to USB cable with an AmazonBasics Wall Charger with USB Outlet( 2.1 Amp Output). Since this isn't marketed to be your day-to-day radio I don't find the lack of an external power supply critical (though it would be nice for charging purposes, say, before you took this on a camping trip). Almost any standard wall charger with a USB connection should work with the supplied cable.

Powered with solar "panel"

The green battery indicator light comes on while charging in the sun

Test started with device battery drained. This is a VERY tiny solar panel, but after discharging my unit I left it in the sun for about 1 hour just to verify that solar charging worked. Playing FM loudly I got about 12 minutes of radio play. Because of the vagaries of charging in the sun (including your geographic latitude) this is unlikely to be used much. But it DOES work. The manual says "10-12 hours in the sun will allow about 3 hours of play depending on volume levels." There's lots of wiggle room there for different performance levels.

USB Smart Phone Charger

I tested this with my BlackBerry 9300, battery indicator at 1/2, and using its own USB cable (USB to micro-USB). Just plugging the cable in to my phone and then to the USB port of the FRX2, my phone's "charging" light came on and blinked merrily. So, using whatever power you have in the FRX2 you can charge your phone. This is a very cool feature.

I discharged all power from the FRX2, and the USB to micro-USB cable as above, but this time cranking the turbine to supply power. As advertised, while cranking the FRX2 the green light came on, and my phone's "battery charging" indicator came on. I didn't want to test this feature too much because of potential damage to the phone (see the documentation) but all appearances are that, yes, this feature also works. In an emergency you should be able to supply power to, and charge, your cell phone. You should verify this with your own cell phone, and insure you have the right USB cables and adapters.

An easy 5 stars because I'm used to similar devices which promise the same things, but end up being cheap, barely useable toys. This radio is the real deal.

Audiovox KLV39120CE 12" LCD Drop Down TV with Built-in DVD Player and HDTV Tuner

Audiovox KLV39120CE 12' LCD Drop Down TV with Built-in DVD Player and HDTV Tuner
  • 12 Inch High Resolution Swivel and Flip LCD Screen
  • Built-in DVD Player
  • ATSC/NTSC Cable-Ready Tuner
  • Digital AM/FM Clock Radio
  • Magnetic Remote

I have been using this unit for a couple of days and it has pretty much lived up to my expectations. I originally bought this TV because most of the under cabinet TVs I saw only had 7-9 inch screens and this unit was the only one with a 12 inch screen. The screen is measured diagonally and has a widescreen aspect ratio so it seemed a tad smaller when I first took it out of the box, but its still much larger than the 7-9 inch tvs I compared it to. That being said, I think the optimum viewing distance for a screen this size would be 6-8 feet. You can either hook it up to the coax output of your satellite/cable box, or to regular over the air antenna (not included). A big plus is the inclusion of a built in ASTC HDTV Tuner. I used a regular set of rabbit ears and was able to get 30 plus digital channels from my location. I can't find any specs on the exact resolution of the screen, but it look great watching HDTV. I haven't really tried the DVD or radio functions, cause this was mainly purchased as a TV, but its nice to have those options available to me. I took off one star because of the lack of inputs/ouputs. The audio/video input on the TV is limited to a coax connection. It also has a composite video ouput, but strangely lacks an audio output so you are limited to using the built-in speakers. Not a really a big deal since the built-in speakers are fine and seemed to have good volume.

It was a little frustrating to mount under my kitchen cabinet. It comes with a sheet of paper which is supposed to be used as a mounting template so you can drill holes in your shelf. Make sure to tape the sheet completely flat to the cabinet and drill exactly in the center of the markings on the template or your holes will be slightly off. I made these mistakes and now my unit is only being held up by 3 screws (instead of 4) because the 4 hole was slightly off.

All I can say is that my wife has always told me I buy too much electronic junks. Not this time, well at first she frowned when I bought it home but not anymore after I installed it. Installation is easy, make sure you line up the provided paper template with your unit to see what side is up & forward before you drill. please tape the paper template to your kitchen cabinet before you drill because it will move you don't take my advice. Make sure you get a decent HDTV antena (don't go cheap on this item) so that you can get good HD channels from the air free of charge. Enjoy! oh, adjust the setting if the picture is too bright.

Want Audiovox KLV39120CE 12" LCD Drop Down TV with Built-in DVD Player and HDTV Tuner Discount?

I purchased a Audiovox 12" Kitchen LCD TV / DVD Combo 8 months ago. My T.V. has been wonderful until 2 nights ago. The DVD/Radio/TV indicators are all on and the panel is not working. When I have the unit plugged in...it automatically starts up and one can not turn it off without unplugging. It is frozen.

I have read the manual, I have e-mailed Audiovox support line with no response, I have called their customer service and the recording states they are closed. The recording said they were open until 7 p.m. on Monday but when I called at 5:45 p.m. it said otherwise. I was extremely happy but am becoming extremely unhappy when resolution seems so difficult. Maybe a simple fix but I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT!

This TV has worked flawlessly, and though the Digital Switchover. My wife uses this unit in our office daily and it has provided years of excellent entertainment and service.

The user interface is troublesome, but the main operations are obvious. Older eyes will struggle to find the right buttons for anything other than selecting channel, volume or on and off.

  • Docking system has two built-in speakers, LCD, sleep timer, FM stereo tuner, 20 programable playback tracks
  • Superb performance in a compact design with dynamic Bass Boost for deep and dramatic sound using 2x2W RMS total output power
  • Auxiliary input for external audio devices

I say medium because this thing is a little bit bigger than some iPod docking stations I've seen, but it has so much to offer. Great sound quality as far as my ears can tell once you turn DBB on. Comes with a radio which is a bonus for me because I wasn't really looking for one with a radio, but I have used it, and the quality is great and I pick up every station I pick up in my car. Also allows you to have up to six preset stations which is nice if you do use the radio a lot.

It works great with my iPod (80GB Classic), and I'm sure it works fine with any other iPod. One of the things I like is that if you turn the player off, for whatever reason, the next time you turn it on, it takes about 1-2 seconds to load up and starts up exactly where you left off. Heck, it takes me longer to resume my song with the iPod manually than it takes this thing to resume. Also, the buttons on the stereo work great with iPod. Very easy to navigate the menu's with it, though if you have alot of songs it might take a while to get from A to Z, though you can still use your wheel if you need to get that far. Also has buttons that you can use to turn shuffle on/off, as well as turning repeat on/off for the current song, or the current playlist.

Let's see...the volume on this thing can actually get very loud too. I keep it on about 10 when I'm listening to it, and if I put it on 15-20 I can hear it fine in another room...and it goes all the way up to 32, which I haven't even tried yet. I can't imagine how loud it would be. It also has DBB which, to be honest, without it the audio is terrible, but turn it on and it's like a miracle, though it's like that with any stereo with DBB really. Comes with different covers for the dock so you can use it with a Nano, Classic, Touch, or other popular iPod's. Also comes with an auxiliary cable so you can plug in another MP3 player if you don't have an iPod.

Now, one of my favorite features...a USB port. Simply plug in any USB flash drive with music on it and listen away. I have used four different USB flash drives on it so far, one 1GB drive, two 4GB drives, and an 8GB drive. All of them work seamlessly and takes less than a second to load up and play...even if it is filled up with songs. Had 5GB's+ of music on my 8GB drive, and all I did was change the source to USB and the player started playing in less than a second...it's that fast. Using USB also has the ability to turn shuffle on/off, or turn repeat on/off, again for the current playlist (which in this case would be every song on the drive) or for the song currently playing. The auxiliary option obviously doesn't provide these options as you're simply transferring the audio to play out of the speakers, but you can still turn repeat/shuffle on via your device.

All in all, this is a great stereo, with great features. Sound is perfect and loud, and also create's a nice home for my iPod to keep it when I'm not using it, and charge it at the same time. And it's nice to have because before I was having to plug my iPod into my PC and listen to music off my iPod through my computer (using SharePod), and it was getting kind of annoying, so this thing is great for me. Also accepts C batteries so you can carry it with you and listen to your tunes with ease wherever you go. Would make a great portable player if you want to go outside by the pool, go to the park, or something similar...even has a nice handle.

It's true, what the other reviewer said, the plastic probably isn't the best in the world, but as long as you aren't throwing it off balconies it really shouldn't break. Really, I think any stereo that you drop is probably going to be a bad thing...not just this one. And I've actually knocked it over twice now, with my iPod inside, and it kept playing and wasn't damaged at all...and it kept the cover closed with my iPod secured inside, so I'm glad about that.

Also plan on taking some pictures and adding them later so check for those.

PROS

The sound is great for one of the lower priced stereo docks out there (volume level 10 is perfect for general listening).

Radio tuner worked well for my local station preferences. They all came in clear and were able to be preset easily.

Price is decent. As much as I try not to shop there, found this on clearance at Walmart for $49. The current price on Amazon ($66) is not too bad either but certainly happy to find it cheaper.

Charged my iTouch 2g. I had previously purchased two alarm clock docking stereos -HMDXthat claimed to charge all iPods but wouldn't with the new iTouch)

Portability and USB/aux port

Sleep timer. Haven't used this yet but a pleasantly suprising feature

CONS

No remote!!! Of course, not necessary, but it would have been useful.

Size. Its not huge but its not made for the average nightstand (as I'd hoped) unless this is the only thing on it.

No place to store AC cord. I guess they assume if you're using this on the go, you'll leave the cord behind since it would be powered by the C batteries. However, if I happen to be near an outlet on the go, I'd much rather use that than burn the batteries.

I'd been looking for an docking stereo for a while and but I'm very happy with this one.

I was shopping for a small iPod dock with radio, and after doing a lot of research, I settled for the Philips DC185, and I couldn't be happier.

If you need a nice looking and simple solution to listen to the radio and your iPod, this is a great choice, and for $62, its a bargain.

Pros

The sound quality is very good (but not great)

It has FM radio

USB port to read mp3s from a pen drive

It can be carried around the house with ease

Comes with several adapters for older and newer iPods and iPhones

Cons

No remote control (not a big deal for me)

There are other options that have more powerful speakers, and sound better, like Bose

I just got this stereo for my 4th generation nano. I was worried it wouldn't work with it, but it does, and charges it as well. I like how portable it is, and that it has a radio. Overall I really like it. The only negative I can see so far is that it doesn't look as cool with the nano docked as it does with a larger unit. Since the nano is so skinny, it doesn't fill up the whole front panel and theres some open space, but other than that, it's just what I was looking for.

Save $0.04 Off

I've been looking at this item at the local Target store and decided to look on Amazon.com. The price at target is $69.99 so when I found it here for half prize I didn't hesitate to order it. I purchased it over the weekend and it arrived on Thursday. What a great purchase. The sound is great and the price can't be beat. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and I highly recommend it. I plugged in my iPod Touch 2nd Generation and my wife's iPod Nano 4th Generation and they both worked as expected. The only con is that it doesn't come with a remote control, but for the price and quality I can overlook that small detail since it's not something I need.

Timex T740 Redi-Set Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Time Projector, Flashlight, Soothing Sounds, and Bat

Timex T740 Redi-Set Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Time Projector, Flashlight, Soothing Sounds, and Battery Back-Up
  • Redi-Set auto time setting system with extreme battery back up, and automatic daylight saving / standard time adjustments
  • AM/FM radio with digital radio station frequency display for easy tuning even in total darkness, with built-in removable, rechargeable flashlight
  • Extra large 1.2" red LED display with dimmer control and projects the time on you walls or ceiling; wake to radio, soothing sounds, or gentle buzzer; sleep to radio or soothing sounds timer, snooze/repeat alarm
  • Dual alarms with weekday, weekend, or everyday options
  • MP3 line input jack lets you connect a wide variety of auxiliary audio devices

This is a very well designed alarm clock with some useful features. The radio reception was excellent, as far as where I placed it. It has a wire antenna which you can move it around to find a good reception. The rechargeable flashlight can become handy during power outage. The projection illumination feature can be turned on or off, and when turned on in the dark, you can see the time on the ceiling or on the wall. The alarm buzzer is very very low, compared to my older Timex alarm clock. However, the alarm can be set to use the radio, or the "Soothing Sound" feature (3 sound settings with "Ocean Waves," "Brooks," and "Wind Cime.") which you can control the loudness with the volume knob. If the volume is set on high, it's very loud and annoying. That's the way I like it! Otherwise, it wouldn't be any use as an alarm clock because the buzzer is no use. I'd say the sound level of the buzzer is comparable to a wrist watch. The buzzer sounds so calming, that it puts me back to sleep. ZZZzzzzzzz..... This is where those "Soothing Sound" mode comes in handy. I set the volume on MAX, and I use the "Wind Chime" mode. It's very loud and annoying. LoL. The "Ocean Wave" when set on high, it sounds lika a bad 2-way radio static. The sound of "Brooks" (running water) might cause you to wet your bed..... That horrific thought, made me not to use that setting.

The automatic time adjustment is a plus. It has a built-in replaceable lithium battery for back-up, and as soon as you plug it in, it automatically adjusts for the correct time and date. When you first open the box, the time zone is set to the Eastern Time. So, all you need to do is set it to the correct time zone. It also, has a daylight saving time feature with the current up to date setting, and you can turn this feature on or off. The time and date can be manually adjusted, too. If you're like me, who likes to set the alarm clock about 5-10 minutes ahead, this gives you a peace of mind. Also, what's great about the "back-up" feture is that, in the event of a power outage, the clock display will be turned off, but the alarm will still come on at the set time. When the power is back on, the clock will re-adjust it self back to the correct time. The rechargeable flashlight with its switch to the "automatic" mode, it will also turn on when the power goes out, as well as it turns on when the flashlight is lifted out of the cradle. When the lithium battery is low on power, it will show in the display. It uses a standard calculator battery which can be purchased at a local supermarket or at a pharmacy.

Furthermore, this clock has the basic big "SNOOZE" button which comes on every 5 minutes? (I think?).

It even has a sleep timer which I never use.

Once the alarm comes on, it can be shut off by pressing the "Alarm 1" or "Alarm 2" button which is a small button.

It'll come back on the next day at the same time. There's also, a separate "Alarm 1" and "Alarm 2" switch to permanantly shut it off. This is the switch to choose between "OFF," "Radio/Soothing Sound," and the useless "Buzzer" mode.

The dual alarm setting with "Alarm 1" and "Alarm 2" is just like having two alarm clocks in one.

It can individually be set to turn on only during the weekdays (M,T,W,TH,F) or just during the weekends (SAT&SUN).

Not quite adjustable compared to my cell phone, but, that's another story.

The only drawback is that, since it has so many features to it, you would have to go through the manual to "fine tune" this clock in order for it to work the way you want it to work.

If you're looking for just a single alarm clock with a battery back-up with a good loud buzzer, there's probably a few out there being sold for half as much. But if you're looking for a dual alarm clock with a battery back-up, this would be a good compromise considering the price and its features since the low buzzer problem can be overcome by the use of the radio or the "Soothing Sound" mode blasting the volume level. LoL!

The projector clock is a brilliant idea. It's really convenient having the time right above you in large, red font. No more straining your neck or straining your eyes to read the time on your tiny bedside display. The projector is the real worthwhile part of this clock. A real smart gadget.

I love the projector, and I recommend a clock with that feature to everyone. Now I'll get to reviewing this specific clock.

You can adjust the projector up and down (but not side-to-side), flip the image, adjust the blur/focus to have it sharp or soft on the eyes, and turn the projector off. Pretty simple.

The other features include two alarms, a sleep option, a flashlight, the radio, soothing sounds, and snooze.

I like that there are two alarms. You can set either alarm to go off on just weekends, just weekdays, or on all days of the week. For example, I set Alarm 1 to just weekdays and Alarm 2 to just weekends. It's easy to set the alarm: you hold down the alarm you want to set, then press Set + or -, and if you hold down the Set button it will go fast. It's a little hard to hold down both the Alarm and Set button without picking up the clock, though.

The Soothing Sounds are a nice feature. I know I'm not alone when I say I get tired of waking up to 'beep beep-beep'. To have the alarm go off as a soothing sound, you set the Alarm to Radio, then set the Radio to Soothing Sounds (I had to look at the manual to figure that out). I first tried the Ocean sound, and let me warn you, it scared my right out of my bed. Make sure you turn the volume down, otherwise it sounds like angry white noise. The Meditation sound is my favorite, it's relatively unintrusive.

The Snooze feature, always useful, is easy to use. Press the button, go back to sleep for 9 minutes. I don't know why 9 minutes, but that is what the manual says.

The flashlight is kind of cool. It charges right from the clock so no need to worry about batteries, and it's a convenient place to just have a flashlight should you need one. I haven't used it yet, though, so I can't say the added space is any bonus.

The 'sleep' feature is similar. If you are interested in setting your clock to play soothing sounds or the radio for an hour at bedtime it has that feature, but I personally don't find it useful.

Now for what I don't care for.

The display on the clock itself is bright. You can make it 'dimmer', but it's not a big difference. In the middle of the night it's just too bright, I don't want to look at it closely. Because there is already a projector clock, it would be nice to have the option to turn the clock display off.

The clock itself is also rather large. Since there is no real need for a large display (in my opinion) I am not sure why. I wouldn't be able to take the clock with me on a trip, for example.

The buttons themselves are not all convenient. To turn off the alarm when you are getting up and want it to stop ringing you need to press the little Alarm button (either 1 or 2 and in the morning I really can't tell which is which). The Alarm buttons are located behind the Snooze button and are right next to the Set buttons -and the Set buttons are the same shape and size as the Alarm buttons. The Snooze button is huge, which is nice because you really aren't awake when you will be hitting it. But I often hit the Sleep button instead because that is right next to the Snooze button, and the same shape. While not as large as the Snooze button, the Sleep button is fairly large, I'm not sure why.

So I know, I'm being picky, but with the huge selection of wake-up devices out there I feel I can be. I am completely attached to the projector clock and cannot now live without one :), and I am liking waking up to the Meditation sounds rather than beeping.

I have had the clock for a few weeks now, and have had no problems. Well, ok, I admit, after a few unsuccessful guesses I had to scour the manual to find out how to get the alarm to turn off in the morning, but other than that it's been great. If you are interested in the multitude of features offered, I definitely recommend trying this clock. However, if you are just looking for a projector clock, there are a few different options out there that may be better, so I recommend looking at all the features and the prices before making your decision.

Update 9-22-11:

So it's been more than a month, and I've had no problems with the alarm clock (other than fumbling with the buttons in the morning).

I found out you can play an mp3 device using the clock. As long as you have your own cord, it works, and as far as I can tell the quality of sound is good. However, if I have my alarm set to play Soothing Sounds (Meditation) but have the iPod plugged in, the alarm will instead play beep-beep to wake me up (ugh).

I've only had this for a week, and it's a good clock with many positive features outlined in other reviews.

The biggest downside to this is the brightness of the display. The dimmer (and I use the term loosely) is simply a 2-option switch, which barely changes the brightness of the display. I jokingly call the two options "Bright" and "Brighter."

I'm not overly sensitive to light when I sleep, but this clock does put off a lot of light. I have to turn it away from me at night (which partly defeats the purpose of the clock). However, I do use the projection feature to broadcast the time on the ceiling. And it really does broadcast...the image on the wall/ceiling looks like the bat signal, it's huge.

So...if you're light-sensitive, this might not be the clock for you. And if you know of a clock that has a real dimmer switch (you, the wheel type where you can adjust the light all the way down), please post on comments.

I read the reviews of this clock before I bought it & I thought that a few people received a "lemon", & that it would not happen to me. I bought it anyway. Two days before the 30 day return limit was up, the clock had some uninteligable error message on the screen. Nothing on the clock works now. I tried unplugging it & plugging it back in, but nothing will make it work! I have been cheated out of $39.49 & can't get a refund! Don't buy it!

I've had this alarm clock for a little over a week. It worked great the first week...then the power flickered due to a thunderstorm. Now the clock is just frozen in time. I can't reset anything, the buttons do nothing. I've tried unplugging the clock several times, but nothing works. Crossing timex of the list, what a joke.
