Pole Dancer Alarm Clock

Pole Dancer Alarm Clock
  • LCD screen display with back light
  • Easy to use clock and alarm set functions
  • Snooze button
  • Try me button

In these trying times we all need to make sacrifices in order to get by. When I lost my job as the glaze-applier at Krispy Kreme, my wife and I didn't know how we were going to make ends meet. She makes decent money, but even the exotic piercing industry is taking a hit in this economy.

Once the late-payment notices started to outnumber the actual bills, I knew it was time to take matters into my own hands. I told my wife that she should get a second job as a stripper, but we both agreed that her severe clubfoot wasn't exactly going to rake in the money.

So, my wife and I came to the agreement that since I was the one who lost the job, I would have to be the one to replace the income. As a stripper.

To hammer her point home, my wife got me this fantastic Pole Dancer Alarm Clock. With its 3-D spinning dancer (I call her Alicia) and vibrant LED display, it serves as the perfect daily reminder that I was doing this for my family.

But this clock is more than just a hot girl pole-dancing to the music it also features an alarm and a snooze button!

While my moves may not be as sensual as Alicia's, I know that one day they might be, and that's all the motivation I need to get myself out of bed and onto a new life.

I bought two of these brand new to give as Christmas gifts. Both of them, not just one but both, were defective right out of the box. The CD Player "open" function would not work. I tried pressing it on the remote and on the console itself, but the cd player would not open. I called customer support to find out that they are aware that their products have this problem. The very hard to understand customer service guy told me to restore the item to its factory settings. I did this and the CD player started working. However, I unplugged it to move it, and when I plugged it back in, the CD player was a no go again. Customer Supports only advice at this point was to return the merchandise.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE. I BOUGHT TWO, BRAND NEW, AND THEY BOTH HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. MOREOVER, THEY KNOW THAT THEY'RE SELLING A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND THEY DON'T CARE.

Overall the speakers look GREAT. The led lights give it a great modern look. Features are also great. I like how it has radio with a CD player, always goo to have variety.

However, the reception for the radio can be a bit off.

The biggest drawback is sound quality. I have great beats headphones and know what good sound is. However these speaker's quality are only average, I was expecting much better for the price paid.

After my other docking system broke, I was searching for a better one and this one sure is better and was only $30 more. I love that it has so many features. I can play my ipod, cds,or simply just listen to the radio. I love how it includes a remote that controls everything, including my ipod. Also, I am able to hook up my ipod to my tv which is awesome. If you have the money to buy this, it's so worth it. You'll really enjoy it!

Speck Products CandyShell Flip Case for iPhone 4/4S - 1 Pack - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Bl

Speck Products CandyShell Flip Case for iPhone 4/4S - 1 Pack - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Black/Dark GreyI picked this case because a few of my friends had good luck with Speck products on their phones. I also felt like I was taking a little risk since there were not a lot of reviews of the product when I purchased it. Now that I received my own, I can understand why people choose this one!! The case fits the phone so well, and I have yet to run into any problems with it. The camera works perfectly with it, the bottom is cut out in a way that allows me to plug in a basic syncing cable without flipping the bottom off, the mic and speaker are not covered or blocked, the case has buttons that fit perfectly (some cases will just have cut outs to access the buttonsnot here), the pink and white case in particular looks awesome with my white 4s! Besides the color, its been my experience that cases don't always fit the phone as it should (where buttons may not fit right in the case, there are issues with the camera's flash, its not very solid/protective, etc.), but this speck case seemed to be well planned out. I'm glad I made the purchase!

When it comes to the other reviewer's comment about dirt collecting on the phone, I think I can understand where they are coming from. In the same way that rubber-ish material for some reason will collect little crumbs or whatever, that is the only thing I see happening with the case so far. Dusting it off wasn't a problem for me, and the phone has limited rubber anyway. In my opinion, its something to expect with rubber-like material in general.

The only recommendation I would make for those looking at this case is to also purchase a screen protector. You can probably get away without one too. But with the combination of the screen protector and this case, I'm no longer worried of my phone being damaged!! Which is peace of mind I think any iphone owner would appreciate :)

I just got an iPhone in October and since then have tried about 6 cases. All of them start out lovely and slick-looking, but just a couple weeks will often reveal the true quality of the case. So far nothing has passed the test, until now.

Don't get me wrong, the case is not perfect; the rubberized area does pick up color from clothing a little, and that can be annoying. But in comparison to the other cases I have had, it's pretty minimal.

The buttons on the top and sides lined up perfectly, including the open space for the toggle switch. The bottom flips open easily without putting stress on the phone, but when it's closed it feels secure and snug, not like it would ever flip open on it's own. The color is true to the photo, unlike the other "raspberry" candyshell (non-flip) by Speck that I bought (I would definitely avoid that one). The camera opening does not interfere with picture quality, and I have dropped my phone a couple times without the case cracking or the phone being damaged at all. Plus, being able to use a charging dock or a speaker without taking the case off is so convenient!

The only thing I would caution people about is that even with the flip bottom, it might still not work with your charging dock or speaker. The flipped-up area is about 1 1/2 inches long, so if your docking area has a back to it that the phone would lean against that measures higher than that, the flip bottom will still get in the way and the phone probably won't fit. All of my charge docks are open on all sides, so that's not a problem for me, but thought I should mention it.

Love Speck CandyShell cases!!! Bought this one because of the flip style. I used a generic charger that happens to be my favorite. The regular Candy Shells dont' have a very large opening for the chargers. So far this seems to hold up to opening and closing the flip part.

In response to other comments, the rubber isn't that bad and I can see it scratching easily but it doesn't really bother me. But if that kind of stuff bothers you then yeah I would consider the fact that it does scratch up pretty easily. I am happy with the case though. Very cute!! I really like the SPECK cases...it's a great brand!

If I had written this review when I first purchased it 6 months, I would have given it 5 stars. I loved it. It was durable. It was easy to use. It looked sharp. Six months later, I find the rubber peeling away and now the case is loose and I am afraid the phone will become damaged. I am here at Amazon looking around to buy another case before that happens. I will not purchase the same case again. Please know that I am an adult that doesn't put their phone in their pocket or things like that. I use my phone sparingly and it is always found in a pouch inside my purchase. Therefore, this product did not stand up to limited use, I hate to see what it would be for those that really use theirs! 3 stars at best from me.

Sony MHCEC909iP Mini Hi-Fi Shelf System

Sony MHCEC909iP Mini Hi-Fi Shelf System
  • Powerful 540-watt (RMS) music system
  • Two-way bass reflex speaker system with separate 7.9 inch dedicated subwoofer
  • Charge, play and control your iPod or iPhone
  • Single-disc CD Player plays CDs and CD-R/RW recorded in audio or MP3 file formats
  • Audio-in lets you easily connect MP3 players, PCs or other devices.

I have had this now for about a month, using it as much as 12 hours a day each and every day and must say that the sound I receive from it is exceptional. The large woofer (nearly the size of the main speakers combined) gives all the bass that I desire (and I love good, deep bass) while the sound production from the main speakers is as accurate as can be. I most definitely give this stereo a glowing review and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bookshelf system.

In response to those who say that the cords are too short, all I can say is that this is a bookshelf stereo: it is meant to go into or on top of a bookcase, not be spread around the room. It is there for providing sound, not a full home theater experience. If what one wants is a home theater, get a home theater system. One must use the right tools for the job, after all.

One warning I will give is that the CD player is on the top of the receiver and, as such, one must be careful about applying any pressure to the top when removing the unit from the box and when setting it up. I wish they had made it just a wee bit taller and used a standard front-loading tray instead of a pop-up lid over the CD mechanism but that is the only design snag (not a flaw but just something that should be reconsidered) I see.

My wife and I were looking to replace a 15 year old Aiwa bookshelf stereo ($300 at the time) and hopefully find a better one (I mean it's been 15 years right!, there has got to be some awesome new features). Boy were we wrong! Once I started to look online for a new system we were shocked to see what little there is out there in terms of full featured bookshelf stereos! The features we were looking for in a bookshelf system (that our Aiwa system was built with) include: multi-disc CD changer, multiple audio inputs/outputs (rca type for connecting DVD/Blue Ray players, etc.), full Equalizer control, audio inputs for mp3 players (not Iphones/Ipods), microphone input (for Karaoke nights). So not a long list but definitely important to us. Here is what we learned:

It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find ANY stereo system without IPod docks (which to us is a waste of space as we will not succumb to the prison that is Apple (or am I already a prisoner by NOT buying into Apple?? hmmm..)

Multi-disc changers are nearly obsolete (which I guess is ok if you have an mp3 player but what do I do with all those old CDs besides making nice coasters or frisbees)

If you want multiple audio inputs/outputs and sound options your probably better off investing in a full sound system (A/V receiver, Blue-Ray/DVD player, speakers, powered subwoofer, etc.) So you are probably going to have to shell out close to $1,000 for the whole set up and then your wife is going to get mad because she can't just pop in a CD or play her mp3 player without having to find the remote, and hit a 100 combo button operation to play it.

Anyway, enough ranting and back to what you came here to see, in a nutshell:

Pros:

Loud, clear sound but could be better if it had the ability to adjust the equalizer.

Connected mp3 player via stereo audio cable (3.5mm -not included) sounds great and sufficiently loud enough.

Easy to set up and use.

Slick looking.

Under $200.

Cons:

Short, proprietary (as with all things Sony) speaker connections. I wasn't trying to span a major chasm..just about 4-5 ft. of shelving. Eventually had to splice the speaker wires which was not a big deal.

No multiple audio inputs (just the 3.5mm input in the front).

No custom equalizer (6 or 7 pre-configured settings -Rock, Jazz, Pop, Techno, Classical...)

No microphone input (although you could use the PC input but it was not very loud with the standard microphone we have)

Soooo, overall a pretty good stereo if you don't have any need for connecting any other sound sources besides an IPod/Phone or anything you can hook up via a 3.5mm audio cable or if you also do not have any need to adjust the audio levels.

Am I stuck in the 80s/90s?? I just wish they made them like they used to....with newer features of course...

I have to give this system a beaming review. I have listened and used Denons, Teacs, and other audiophile equipment in the past and Sony once again delivers the goods here with this system. I bought this system to connect to my PC through the PC line-in on the front of the main unit/amp/cd player/ipod dock/radio and also to double an radio. I must say I am impressed by this system. The sound quality is clear without any distortion at normal levels. The dedicated sub-woofer does a good job at bass reproduction and is interestingly more responsive in its range then most sub-woofers playing notes all the way up to about the 3-4khz range. The loudness of these speakers is not to be messed with, these speakers can be quite loud if you ask them to be, to the point your hearing is definitely in danger if you are nearby the speakers, but can also be quite enough for listening to music or watching a movie late at night without disturbing anyone, and you can also turn off the sub-woofer so that low frequencies don't travel through the waves and turn into vibrations that will disturb your neighbors. I can't really comment on the Ipod dock, I use a Sansa Fuze instead so I never use the dock. I don't mind the CD player having just one disc capacity as most on my music is on the computer and when I do use the CD player I only need one CD in when I use the music alarm feature on the stereo which will play your cd when you set the alarm to go off. Even if I did use the CD player more often, I wouldn't mind especially since the digital-to-analog converter for the CD player is a nice one that delivers great response. Also as a added bonus it supports not only MP3 CDs but also CD-RWs as well, which was an advantage for me. To top it all off the aesthetics of the stereo are also very nice, and is a handsome piece of audio equipment. My advice, get this system its a great system for a great price that can live up to both general use as well as discerned ears. You will not be disappointed.

While this is a very nice bookshelf stereo system, it is nothing spectacular. I purchased it for my daughter's bedroom, and it suits her needs just fine, but I would never use it as a main stereo system for my house. While it sounds very good, and does get quite LOUD, the bass is just overpowering and not reproduced with much clarity (it is a little muddy sounding). The 540 Watt rating is just marketing hype to attract the "younger" electronically uneducated buyers to this stereo system, so they can plug their (also overhyped) iPhones and iPods into it. I have an older 100 Watt Pioneer rack system that is MUCH louder than this stereo will ever be. The reason the system needs 540 watts is that it is pushing that power through a very inefficient 12ohm amplifier, and speaker drivers. Most home stereo sytems are rated at 8ohm and car stereos at 4ohm, or even 2ohms. All of this wattage is required to overcome all of that resistance, and I am quite sure the 540 watts is peak, and not RMS, after listening to this system first hand. Also remember that it takes 10 times the wattage to make a stereo twice as loud. So this system theoretically will not even be louder than a 100 watt stereo, as most of the 540 watts is driving the subwoofer to reproduce the low bass. There is a lot of other factors that come into play here, but you get what I am trying to say without going into any more of a technical explanation. Like I said, this is a nice stereo, and will work fine in a bedroom or smaller house or apartment. Just don't expect it to fill a concert hall with sound. It is just not going to happen. I gave the system 4 stars, as I did my research beforehand, and knew what I was purchasing. I also knew where the stereo was going to be used. I took off a star for the lack of many features that any good stereo system should have these days. While this system, and many others, are missing these features. This stereo does not have a headphone jack, RCA (AUX) input jacks, or a real equalizer. It does however have a 3.5mm "PC-in" jack that you can plug your computer, or standard MP3 player into (on the front). There is an EQ with many presets, but I much prefer being able to set my music to my own taste, not to those of some sound engineer at Sony. Overall the stereo sounds nice for the money, and it plays every .WAV or .MP3 CD-R I have thrown at it. It also connects to my daughters iPod And my Sandisk Sansa Clip without any problems. The main speakers on this system have a lot of range and clarity, but their coverage is limited. They are almost like "near-field" monitors, as you have to be standing right in front of the speakers to get the best sound from them. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a good system for the money, and I do recommend buying it. Just know in advance about the specs., and what you will be using the stereo for. Maybe I am being a bit picky, but I have been listening to, and playing/recording music for years. I do know what I am talking about. I am also an electronics/computer science major, so that experience also helps in my review. Sony has been making great products for many years, and this is another one of those products. As I said before, just know what you are purchasing in advance, and don't buy into the wattage hype.

PS. For those complaining about the short speaker cord length, and proprietary connectors, there is a reason for both. The short cord length is because(as I said before)the speakers are being driven at 12ohms. That is a lot of resistance compared to a normal 8ohm home stereo system, and the thin little 22/24 gauge wires supplied would create a lot of resistance if they were any longer. Also, the proprietary speaker connectors are there to keep people from plugging standard 8ohm and 4ohm home stereo speakers into this system, and literally frying the amplifier. You can however splice longer sspeaker cable onto these factory cables. I would however recommend that you use at least 18 gauge (if not 16 gauge) speaker wire when doing so. This will pevent any sound degradation, and possible fires from the amp, wires or speakers overheating. I hope this helps.

I first saw this unit at bestbuy for $187.Their site gave it very favorable reviews.Came home and checked out my favorite vendors site{AMAZON}and they had it for $150 thru J&R music world.Printed it up and headed back to bestbuy for a price match.I like the looks of the unit and it appears to be a solid build.Like others have stated it lacks midrange sound. It also does not have an equalizer which i think would improve sound quality. It has a very deep bass sound which sometimes is quite overpowering.I play alot of homemade cd's and some of them just sound ok.The cd's i made are audio cd's and not mp3 cd's and i'm not sure if that would make a difference. My co-worker put his ipod in it and it did sound much better. All in all it is a decent unit for the price i paid. I did try my iaudio u2 mp3 player in this unit thru the pc input jack and the sound was lousy.Compared to the smaller ipod shelf systems that i saw at bestbuy you do get alot of bang for the buck.My advice is to check it out first in the store to see and hear it for yourself. Sony has had a good reputation for their products. This radio does not fit that bill. The sound is tinney and cheap. The reception on local strong stations is poor. I would have given this product zero stars if that were an option. Don't waste your money on this.

Both the sound quality and the radio reception are bad. I am approximately 5.4 miles from a 100,000W FM radio tower, and it takes careful adjustment to get decent reception, and even then there is significant hiss. At no time have I been able to tune in at better than 4 by 5 (5 by 5 being perfect reception). By contrast, a thirty dollar clock radio with an external antenna purchased six years ago is easy to tune and provides good sound quality on the same station. As far as sound quality is concerned, I know not to expect great fidelity and frequency response from a clock radio, but this is shockingly bad for a Sony, especially when compared to the aforementioned older, off-brand clock radio. Perhaps the alarm functions and easy buttons will make up for the terrible radio for you, but then why would you bother buying a clock radio? Really disappointing.

We bought this alarm clock because I like to listen to music while I am upstairs (just bedrooms) and I don't want to have a separate stereo in already tight quarters. The design looks simple, much better than my old alarm clock. After a brief glance at the instructions, we had it up and running. We used it with both my old 20gb click wheel iPod and my daughter's newer 40gb iPod video. Both worked great. Here is what we think:

Pros:

-Dual Alarm

-Battery Backup (comes with batteries)

-Sets the time itself

-Looks nice, clean design

-Charges my iPod so it is always ready

-8 FM 4 AM preset stations

-Remote with battery included

-Adjustable brightness

-Sound quality is nice for a product like this

-Slide a switch for Daylight Savings!

Cons:

-You have to wake to iPod (or buzzer if no iPod is docked) for first alarm, radio for second alarm

-Control by remote has a little lag time

-iPod cannot be in a case or skin to be docked...I wanted to get this for my daughter, but I know she will not pull hers out of the skin to dock it every day and I told her she has to use the case to protect the video screen. (My iPod skin is older and the bottom folds out of the way so mine works.)

-When you turn on the iPod, you can only play what is already selected...a playlist, CD, or just all your songs...you can't pick and choose, but you can skip forward or back in order.

Overall I like this clock a lot and would recomend it as a way to have music when you want it in a bedroom!

this is a nice machine. the dock seems a bit flimsy, though. i get worried that i am going to break something if i might accidentally bump the ipod while it is docked, but so far everything is in great working order.

the things i love the most are the sleep features (i like being able to fall asleep to the ipod and wake up to the radio, for one thing. i also like that the volume controls are separate for sleeping and waking, so i don't have to worry about re-setting the volume high enough to wake myself up.) i also like the sound quality. it isn't fantastic, but it is pretty damn good for the price. another thing i like is the portability. i took this unit to a cabin, and it was amazing to have all my music and videos available to share in such a small unit. i just tucked it into a small bag, and it was good to go. the back-up battery has worked great to maintain all my settings when i plug and unplug. the radio reception is much better than my old clock radio, too. i used to constantly run the battery down on my ipod, and i would have to make a point to charge it. now that i have this unit, that is never an issue. it is so easy to use as a charging station ... just put my ipod in the dock and let it sit!

i like this unit so much, i bought two -one for home, and one for my office. i highly recommend it.

Initially, my husband bought me another brand. The light was so bright, I had to cover it to sleep. After much research, I saw this was a problem with most of the clock radios. The iHome is the only one that seemed to have more options, and I knew at worst case, I could turn the light off, so I took a chance. To my delight, there were many, many light settings, the dimmest of which was perfect for sleeping without adding light to the room. Please note that this is the iHome iH8BR. There are other models which may not have these options. I saw many excellent reviews on the older models, so I felt comfortable with trying this one. I was also able to see the instruction manual at the iHome website, which helped me understand the difference in the various models. Another nice feature is that all the buttons have the descriptions lit on the buttons so that you are able to read which button to select in the dark rather than the braille method when you need to adjust a setting. The light from the lettering does not add significant light to the room. This model has equalizer options, which are nice. The clock sets itself based on the time zone selected, and it also has a daylight savings setting. I can't think of anything negative to write on this item. Normally I don't write reviews, but since I had difficulty finding information about models that are dim enough to sleep, I wanted to provide this information for others. iHome must read the reviews, as this model has enough settings to make anyone happy. I'm quite sensitive to sleeping with light. I will add that the clock radio my husband first purchased was the Memorex, and that model was similarly priced, yet didn't come close to the quality and options with the iHome. Highly recommend this item.

There's something important you need to know about this clock radio that the product description won't tell you. If you're buying this so you can wake to your iPod (as I did), know that you will ALWAYS wake to the first song on your iPod NOT to where you set it the night before. This isn't technically the fault of the product because it's the iPod reverting to the main menu when it goes to sleep, but unless you feel like waking to Take On Me by A-ha for the rest of your life, it's kind of pointless. A call to iHome customer service and I found out this is "normal". If you're not really interested in that function and want it for others, the short story is that it does everything else it says it will do and the sound is actually very good for its size. I could delve into other pros and cons, but since the main reason I bought it is a bust, I'm not going to bother. This item is going back. UPDATE: someone else told me they didn't think this happened to them with their iHome Clock Radio (how could you not be sure?) so now I just don't know anymore, but like I said, iHome support said my experience was "normal". You can take a chance or not....

I have the new 3G Nano and was looking for a unit to play podcasts at night while falling asleep. At least with my unit, when I set the iHome on a sleep setting (say 60 minutes), after a few minutes both the iHome and the Nano turn off and the Nano starts charging, not the sixty minutes expected. The volume setting or charge status of the Nano does not seem to matter.

I still give this unit 3 stars because if I set the sleep setting on the Nano and just turn on the iHome, the Nano turns off at the right time.

The sound is good for a reasonably priced clock radio type unit (my major reason for choosing the unit). The lighted keys and remote are useful but the remote could be better laid out and is missing some valuable keys like sleep and dedicated keys for preset.
